Toyoko INN Shinagawa Station Takanawa Exit

Can’t beat this location right across the street from shinigawa station. I would consider this a standard small Japanese room. Our room set up actually had a little more room for bags than similar rooms of this type. Didn’t eat the breakfast but it looked fine. The breakfast area is utilitarian at best. Very little interaction with staff as they have electronic checkin. Interaction was minimal but staff were very nice. Grocery store and excellent restaurant right next door.

Typical Toyoko which means great climate control, under bed storage area but weak curtains. Also wish the bed wasn't against the window since that's the coldest area of the room. Unusual for Japan, room didn't seem vacuumed - large dust bunnies and some hairs. Everything else was fine. Great location. I like how Toyokos always have a drinking water machine.

Ok, I need to take serious note here. This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.The trains are extremely loud, i am not joking.. and you can find plenty of comments mentioning the noise problem. The hotel staff only give fake smiles and act like robots. They can’t speak English, and they don’t try to help with any issues.It’s ridiculous. Even after we told them that I’m pregnant and asked for a non smoking room, they were completely cold. AND I am still stay in A SMOKING ROOM even they have empty rooms! It really shows how cold some Japanese people can be, don’t be fooled by the smiles.By the way, the next hotel I stayed at was totally fine, so the problem is definitely this hotel. I definitely do NOT recommend it. Please read the other 1 star reviews, there are many with the same issues. Terrible.

Warning: Extremely Noisy! This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. It is unbelievably noisy — it feels like sleeping right next to a train. The floor even shakes at times. None of this was mentioned on their website. SEE MY Photos and hear the voice from my video! On top of that, none of the staff speak English, so it’s impossible to get any help because they simply don’t understand. That’s crazy experience.

I picked this hotel because of its excellent location, just close to Shinagawa station (you can go anywhere from there) and its very reasonable price. Although the room was small (aren't they all in Tokyo), it was clean and comfortable and had everything needed for a business trip. The wifi was excellent - very fast. Free breakfast was good, and the staff were very helpful. Will certainly stay there again and will choose this hotel chain for other trips on Japan.

It's only a stone away from shinagawa station which is very convenient for travelers like us. Cleanliness as always on tip top condition. Looking forward to my next stay with toyoko inn.

Rooms are small, Smokey, the ladies at the front desk needs to be more Customer Service to their guest that doesn’t speak Japanese. We asked if they could call a taxi for us, they just showed us a paper & we needed to call. The other hotels we’ve been to, called a taxi for us. Not friendly at all.

Few steps away from Tokyo-Shinigawa station. Supermarket available in the area. Nice and clean hotel. Good place to stay considering the budget.

Easy access from the Shinagawa train station which was less than a 5 minute walk. The train line from Haneda to here in less than 15 minutes on the rapid express. It's a nice little hotel with the standard amenities. They had free breakfast but we did not use it. Our only issue was the bed was hard as a rock. Wish it was softer! For the price per night this definitely was worth it for location due to shopping, food, and bars.
