5 hot spring resorts within Taiwan's East Coast that will rejuvenate your senses - SilverKris
"A rustic resort in Beinan Township offering diverse accommodations from cozy log houses to stylish single-family cottages with wooden floors and private indoor tubs. Both indoor and outdoor hot springs are available — the outdoor baths are particularly charming with peaceful mountain views — and guests can rent bikes, use multiple pools, book outdoor barbecue pits, stroll extensive grounds, and dine at an on-site restaurant serving healthy Chinese dishes." - Syahirah Mazlan and ORION RAY-JONES
We went there for hot spring only. It was a terrific experience. We love it very much. But hard to get there without car.

We usually only come here for the hot springs without staying in the accommodation. Tickets are 300NT per adult and 120NT for children under 150cm. You can buy cheaper 200NT discount adult tickets from swimwear shops on the way to zhiben.
There is a beautiful outdoor area. You can cook eggs/corn in the hot springs cooking area. The kids like the water guns and the kidney shaped pool but that pool is closed Nov-Mar. There is an undercover hotsprings section with a variety of different temperature pools.

It's a nice spring experience. 300 TWD to enter, cheaper if you're a kid or older. Clean facilities, big spring area.

Amazing villa spa room and great breakfast. A must visit hotel and location. The national forest park is about 2 miles away.

Disclaimer: We only came for the hot spring (i.e. did NOT stay in the hotel).
Overrated hot spring.
Minimum facilities: facilities generally old and lack of maintenance - worse than free public hot spring like 四重溪, no towel, no sandals, no safety measures for children (our boy fell off and bleed had to take care of that everything by ourselves)
Dishonest/confusing pricing: say children age between 6-12 need to pay, but our older boy of 5 also got charged the same.
Hard to get to if not driving yourself: taxi fixed price not by meter.
Still wish it well and successful as local attention but just think it’s overrated.

We only went for the hotspring and pool area (in summer). Great value, for 400 TWD you can stay and enjoy the different facilities as long as you like.
The different hot spring baths were great, the showers and the spa pools as well. We didn't try the saunas.
Be aware that you need a bathing cap (you can buy one for 50 TWD) and there is very limited information in English available.
The only thing we didn't get was that the main outdoor swimming pool only opens at 14:00 in summer and not earlier.

This is a great place to spend the day in totally fun, clean, and easy to get around hot springs, complete with showers and lockers, a cold pool, and a resting area. This part of Taiwan, and in particular the southeast coast, is amazingly beautiful, so the surrounding forests and environment is absolutely gorgeous and delightfully relaxing.

The hot spring pools are great, both indoor and outdoor ones. We had NT$1000 set dinner which was disappointing. The cabin we stayed in has limited sound insulation and no pool towels. We had to walk back and forth twice in the rain to have the towels exchanged.
