Everyone is always so nice at TJ's and it's always so very clean and fresh. It's lovely, and I'm so glad that there's one not too far from where I live. I would give a 5 star if the parking lot wasn't such a dangerous area. If only people could be more courteous and slow down!!! 🥲 (Picture was taken New Years Day, a rare empty parking lot at TJ's)😆

Google
We stopped here during our recent trip to Santa Barbara to pick up waters and snacks for the weekend. It was easy to find parking and the store was easy to navigate. Clean, friendly staff, tasty samples, overall was the lovely experience we all expect from Trader Joe’s. Very easy to get here if you fly into the Santa Barbara airport.

Google
Trader Joe's is a fantastic store! The staff is always friendly and helpful, the prices are reasonable, and the selection of unique, high-quality products-like frozen meals, snacks, and seasonal items-is unmatched. The store is clean, well-organized, and has a fun, welcoming atmosphere. Shopping there is truly a pleasure every time!

Google
Always a great experience. Staff go above and beyond to help you out. The line at the registers is always very rare because of how efficient they are. TraderJoe's is still very affordable in price.

Google
Trader Joe's is always great. Good prices for yummy items, often a bit different than what a normal grocery store carries.

Google
Decent selection ruined by fads and bowing to misinformation. I’ll give one example, but they do this sort of thing a lot: they’ve replaced nearly all their muffins with gluten free options. Less than 2% of the US population has any sort of sensitivity to gluten, but “gluten free” is trendy due to faux-health consciousness. (And if they actually cared about food sensitivities, *far* more or have sensitivities to dairy and egg. Why not make the muffins free of those ingredients?) Trader Joe’s caters to this sort anti-science fear mongering, further propagating it. And to make matters worse, just like most gluten free products, the gluten free muffins are terrible! Everyone who I’ve offered one to has taken a few bites and thrown the rest away. They haven’t made their blueberry muffins gluten free yet, thankfully. Your health may be jeopardized by the extra fat, and sugar and stabilizers they pack into their gluten free muffins to try to make them somewhat palatable, but at least you get to avoid gluten! Lol what a scam.

Google
Shopping at Trader Joe’s, is always a great experience. The staff are cheerful and helpful and they have a wide variety of high-quality items. This is not a large store so best to go in non-peak hours.

Yelp
I have always appreciated how well organized this store is, and how helpful the staff are. And I think I have found the ideal time to shop at TJ's. Pretty much weekday mornings before noon. Parking lot seems not as crowded, shopping carts are in abundance, inside the shelves seem freshly stocked, there are plenty of staff to help you complete your shopping list, and the food sample cart person is quite happy to share something either cold or hot for your palate. Check out always goes pretty smoothly, and this time around Elisabeth and Juan were helpful AND entertaining.

Yelp
I asked for a refund here and I feel like I was discriminated and treated poorly the refund was processed in store but I never got it. The cashier was a rude guy

Yelp
Good collection of fresh produce. Friendly staff and clean store. Recently moved here and was impressed by the variety as compared to the outlet I frequented in LA (Westwood!)

Yelp
I have come to this Trader Joe's before and the employees are respectful, helpful and kind. The store is well stocked and the employees can direct you in the right direction to find an item. I appreciate how there are birthday cards that go with the soon to be spring season! In the past, when I have paid at the register I have small conversations with the staff and leave feeling appreciated as a paying customer. My usual experience involves the employee at least attempting to have a short conversation. This time, when I was paying the young cashier (maybe college student) didn't try to have a conversation which is fine however, she kept making annoyed glances at the worker behind her. Then when she handed me my receipt she had a glazed over solemn expression and didn't say a word. Perhaps she was having a difficult day or my customer service expectations are too high.

Yelp
This is a great Trader Joes. I could go on and on about the awesome food, great prices and excellent beer selections, but what I want to talk about are the people. This TJs has hired some pretty amazing people to work there. They are friendly, seem to really love their jobs and are always asking if I have any questions. Just a great culture! I really appreciate the outstanding customer service that I get when I shop at Trader Joes. The ONLY negative on this location is that parking can be a challenge at times, but I always seem to get past it.

Yelp
Cashier gave me a lollipop because I told him I'm going through a break up. Trader Joe's employees are the only empaths left this world, Mr. Cashier you a real one
google avatar

Jami N.

Yelp
It's great having a TJs within walking distance of home. The parking lot may be utter madness most of the time, but what TJ's parking lot isn't? This is a particularly small (efficient) Trader Joe's, their stock of ferschnickering beverages however is abundant! I know where everything is located, so I can get in and out within minutes which is great. I find most the necessities I'm in search for when shopping and TJs definitely "lettuce" get our essential produce on. They are often out of several items on my list each visit however, but "butter" luck next "thyme" I say! Prices are quite reasonable and most products are of good quality and taste. Employees are constantly restocking items and are always extremely helpful and friendly. A lot of the clientele are UCSB students which keeps it hoppin'.

Yelp
If you are looking for, yet, another great Trader Joe's -- here ya go.  Well-stocked inventory, and cashiers all open at each station with very little lines makes a great shopping experience! Service is particularly a stand-out.  There's always several people restocking the shelves, and thus, always available to help find something or answer questions.  I'm definitely in that upper half percentile who ask (and am a little "pest"-cadarian), "Do you still carry..." or "Can you help me find...".  Very satisfying, even for little ol' me. Upside: ======= 1.  Easy to find items 2.  Well stocked 3.  Efficient cashiers, all staffed 4.  Super nice folks Downside: ========= 1.  On the small side of a Trader Joe's. 2. Parking can be challenging in the shared lot.
google avatar

Celine S.

Yelp
I love this trader joe's. the workers always conversating with me in line and as they are restocking. I normally go on the weekends and sara is always very helpful. Love talking to her about the new products and her recommendations.

Yelp
If you're familiar with Trader Joe's you know the stores are pretty much consistent in look and feel and that they carry a vast collection of private labeled products. If you have any issues with anything let them know and I'm sure they'll take care of it. Looking for the manager? Look for people with Hawaiian shirts on. Return polices are great, if you don't like something or if there is something wrong bring it back. From fish, meats, poultry, various produce, dairy, frozen foods/items, snacks, booze, flowers, several beauty/personal items, and grab and go items, you'll find all you'll need. Of course if you're looking for household stuff, this is not the place. I'm a fan of everything TJ's has to offer...well almost. But here's just a few of those items I'm a fan of: -Snacks: olive oil seasoned popcorn, red and green salsas, veggie chips, tortilla chips, coffee ice cream -Frozen foods: tamales, wild and uncooked Argentinian red shrimp, Indian garlic nan, popstickers -Produce: Bananas, apples, bagged mixed greens, sweet potatoes -Meats & poultry: ground beef, burger patties, ground turkey, chicken legs, the various chicken sausages that they have This is a great TJ's in the local area! I was in the area and had to get a couple of things, and TJ's did not let down. I think it's maintained very well, clean, and everyone is friendly and helpful. Size of the store seemed consistent with others that I've been to. Parking was abundant in a good size strip mall. I was in out pretty quickly as lines were well maintained.
google avatar

Felice B.

Yelp
One of my favorite TJ's. Great group of eclectic and engaging employees Pre-Covid, they had the best tasting area: Mint and lemon water, coffee, and always a happy, helpful employee handing out those yummy treats. Parking can be crazy; I recommend parking farther out. It can get very stuffed feeling at busy times. Always, though, a fun place to shop!
google avatar

Sirap S.

Yelp
I live for TJ but today my morning was completely ruined by the loudest most unpleasant persons (Meredith and some other employee w a black shirt) I'm not a stickler for common conversing amongst people but they had the whole store wanting to cover their ears. This is not the first time I've had a bad experience with Meredith either so this is the last straw.
google avatar

Chloé C.

Yelp
Such an easy Trader Joe's to go to and easy parking. The store is pretty spacious for a Trader Joe's and never long lines. They have a great flowers selection as well
google avatar

George L.

Yelp
Damn Trader Joe's, back at it again with the full crowds! Seriously though. The parking here is like a ball pit. So many cars. The lines inside aren't any better. It just seems like everyone from UCSB goes here for food. Anyways, I go here for the REALLY good stuff, such as the "Ghost Chiles" 3-Pack or Almond Butter. The customer service is always great here, and it's inexpensive. However, come early or go to Sprouts.

Kylie M.

Yelp
This trader joe's is the worst. All of the workers are so judgmental and clicky. There's a weird social hierarchy between all the young workers that's really prevalent. Last time I came here I literally heard them make a rude comment about me and walk off laughing together. Disgusting environment.
google avatar

Lindsay W.

Yelp
If in Goleta, this is a grocery shopping stop when I rotate between Sprouts and Santa Cruz Market. The staff are polite and helpful. It can be quite busy here on a Sunday night when the stock is low and customers are numerous. Often I try new products and enjoy they are in their own area. I noticed a pumpkin only section this week! They currently are under construction which is difficult to navigate and I look forward to seeing the final product. One recent note is that they have new Mochi options and hope they continue to carry the old brand too!!!
google avatar

Vanessa D.

Yelp
I absolutely love this Trader Joe's! The store is always clean and the staff are amazing! My four year old always tries to help by scanning items at the register and the staff are so patient with him. Every staff i have met takes the time to get to know me and ask how my day is going. They are usually stocked on items I need and are ready to look in the back if something is not on the shelves. I'd also like to add the finding Nick the Owl provides entertainment for my kids while we go up and down the aisles. I also appreciate the prize of stickers or a lollipop. Thanks for being so family friendly!

Eric G.

Yelp
I enjoy this Trader Joe's. Much larger than the average location. This particular store had always had a compact layout which proved to cause congestion amongst its patrons. In recent years, it expanded to become a much larger store - same layout, much wider aisles. This store is still quite crowded but I no longer feel like I'm bumping into others. Great selection of items which is the case for all TJs stores. I enjoy the low prices and the fact that they carry many varieties of ethnic foods. Their booze selection is surprisingly affordable as well. I love the great selection of live plants, too. My main gripe is the parking situation. The venue is in the Calle Real Center which, when developed, was not designed to hold a grocery store (prior to TJ's, it housed a Boston Market and a Noah's Bagels). As such, parking around here is extremely tight and gets rather congested at peak hours. I'd recommend ditching the cart if you can and parking a ways down in front of Albertson's. Overall, this is a great store. I will be back soon.

Jennie K.

Yelp
I love Trader Joes- their prices for snacks and frozen foods is so great, and the quality of the food that I buy here is to die for. I love the free samples you can snag from the counter. I'd recommend the cocoa dusted toffee truffles- they are so good! And for some reason, I am addicted to their brand of string cheese- it's so good! Will be coming back here in the next day or so. The only reason I give them 4/5 stars is the parking- it's really difficult to bypass those who don't look when they back out of spots. It gets a little dangerous over there.

Julie J.

Yelp
Stopped by while visiting SB and we were impressed with this TJ's. Clean and well-stocked. Great selection of food items and bath products. Produce is very fresh. We always love the low TJ prices. It was busy when we went but the checkout line moved quickly.

Yelp
I have always been a big fan of Trader Joe's. However I found plenty of molds on their pita bread 2 days after purchasing. I purchased them on 3/21/18 afternoon. On 3/23/18 I had 2 pieces and they taste weird! I didn't pay attention because I knew I just bought them! However next morning I saw it's full of molds. I am 30 weeks pregnant hoping it doesn't make me and my baby sick. So Be very careful when u shop at Trader Joe's, they are not as good as we believed!!!
google avatar

Jeremy R.

Yelp
Very nice location with super friendly staff. The store is small but well organized with lots of selection. I highly recommend the baked goods, they have great things for breakfast or for any time of the day. The drink selection is great as well. I have been going to this location for awhile and have always had a good experience. I plan to return in the future.

Yelp
This TJ's gets way more packed than the others because of UCSB shoppers. My relevant LPT: When you want to go somewhere really crowded, park just a little farther away. It saves time you would have spent searching for a spot, and walking is good for you. Trader Joe's is my new favorite grocery store. I like all the innovative products and the convenient packaging, like the equivalent of three bundles of green onions in one contained baggie for a buck. The employees at this spot are nice too. I think you guys should move the mango mango gummies right by the check out, like other TJ's do in town, for convenience. This is why I first purchased them and they were life changing in that I always have a bag on me now. My boyfriend is a Trader Joe's skeptic and hates going there, but one night I made a deal with him: If we went to Trader Joe's together for me to get mango gummies, he could also get a frozen pizza there (he loves that stuff). And... he thought it was really good. Actual quote, "If the crust on this was just a little thicker, someone could mistake it for actual restaurant pizza."

Yelp
Trader joes , why do you break my heart so? My wife loves shopping here and I grudgingly agree. We buy most of our groceries here and I am 95% satisfied. But the other 5 % of the time we end up buying something that is stale or goes bad in a few days. I really prefer buying produce else where. But you can't beat the prices. Parking is a whole other nightmare. Too few spots and usually stressed out angry drivers are a weekend hazard. Most of the older locals stay away during busy times as students pack this place. It is somewhat amusing watching them decide over a bottle of wine though. In short. I'll keep going here because you can't beat the prices. I have this dream that one day Trader Joes corporate will decide to put a new store in town with adequate parking and bigger aisles. Until then I'll keep going to this one.

Yelp
Dale is the coolest and sweetest guy I've met at any Trader Joe's! He is very enthusiastic and knows a lot about the different products and wines! He really makes shopping here a fun experience!

Ella P.

Yelp
Played the perfect amount of drake. I loved ittt.... An old man asked them to change it but they stayed strong.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Amazing customer service! All the workers greet you once you walk and will answer any of your questions! I love browsing their store to pick up any cool desserts and snacks! I love their free samples and coffee!! Also their rib eye steak is really affordable too!

Cheryl R.

Yelp
I have been extremely happy with Trader Joe's. Their customer service is excellent and professional and I have many favorite foods that I buy there. I never went to the very first location in Pasadena, I only discovered Trader's when I moved to Santa Barbara. Of course, the only problem is too little parking and that is true whether you are on the West Coast or the East Coast. Cheryl R.

Yelp
It was not to bad at 9 54 am. I was there 4 one hr Not to bad.people where friendly.i have notjing..

Yelp
Great selection of organic and hard to find foods. The only negative is parking could be an issue during certain hours.
google avatar

Alfredo G.

Yelp
Prime food , very friendly staff for the most part. Sometimes there seems to be more selections at the other locations (De La Vina and the one on Milpas) but overall very very neat store with great staff. Only minor issue(not their fault necessarily) is the parking lot. Very small, often crowded!
google avatar

Marie I.

Yelp
What a wonderful establishment! Always great prices for wonderful products! Beautiful flowers for cheap and wonderful employees!
google avatar

Anna G.

Yelp
I've been going here for always two school years and this place is always my savior. The employees are very nice and helpful and the groceries are always fresh. The store can get pretty packed on Sunday and Monday nights with students so try to avoid going then. I am a big fan of TJ's in Goleta woo!

Regan W.

Yelp
I've never written a yelp review, but I just want everyone to know that Jason is amazing and he truly cares about people. This Trader Joe's is a great experience always :)

Yelp
Then staff are absolutely incredible here. The produce could be better. Great vibe throughout the store. Very welcoming

Yelp
Why is this Trader Joe's the best of the lot in the Santa Barbara? Because of the parking. Lots of parking, which lowers my parking stress so much that I prefer to shop at this location than the de la Vina one, which I live closer to. But here's my particular story. Sometimes TJ's has something I love, I mean I just adore it. Like the chocolate covered coffee toffee bits. Never heard of them, you say? Exactly. They've not been available for about 10 years now. TJ's is so mean to me that way. I fear they've done the same thing to the grass fed beef I used to get there. Why you folks no want to buy the grass fed beef? That's why they don't sell it anymore. It's not my fault - *I* bought it. Then I thought they'd not only plunged the knife, but was twisting it over and over in my gut - I could not find cornichons anymore. I would practically have to give up pate and baguette altogether if I couldn't have my cornichons and TJ's had the best, from France! I'd looked for it the last few times I was in this shop, and they were gone, not even a label in an empty row to give me faith that they were just temporarily out of stock. But lo, today, I looked, and I saw my beloved cornichons. Slightly different labelling, but it was them. I looked at the ingredients, it was them. I bought several jars, just in case they pull them off the shelves again. Oh, one thing that makes this TJ's slightly not as interesting as the others in town - not quite so many craigslist missed connections happen at this location. Goleta is for boring old couples. But I'm okay with that.

Yelp
I LOVE TJ!! If I could only go to one grocery store for the rest of my life, you guessed it: Trader Joe's!! Especially this location. The workers here are all so helpful and friendly and they always have the freshest fruits and vegetables (I always see them re-stocking in the evening). Some things I HIGHLY recommend you try: 1. Shrimp Nuggets: These are addicting so BEWARE (you have been warned)!! My boyfriend and I first tried this when they were samples, and we were hooked already. It's really good with their tartar sauce and sweet chili sauce. These nuggets have a HUGE piece of shrimp in it with the perfect amount of breading. Plus, they're so easy to make! 2. Gummy Filled Penguins: The name says it all. Who wouldn't wanna eat cute little penguin gummy bears with cherry, lime, and strawberry filled bellies?! 3. Chocolate Covered Pretzel Thins: The perfect little dessert/treat. As a dark chocolate lover, I am obsessed with these. My non chocolate loving boyfriend even loves these. Every time I go, I restock on all three of these because they are just THAT amazing.

Yelp
I could honestly review all the Trader Joe's locations I've been to and I think they'd all be 5 star. Besides the whole idea of healthy, organic, unprocessed food and all that healthy lifestyle jazz, I love how employees of Trader Joe's are all upbeat, happy people. As some readers may know by now, I have a beef with bitchfaces and people who are just extremely unpleasant when it comes to service and attitude in food establishments. Trader Joe's has none of that. NONE. Everyone who works at a TJ location (of course, that includes this Goleta location for this review's purpose) looks like they just hit the lottery. Makes shopping here a joy.
google avatar

Shiho F.

Yelp
This particular Trader Joe's is the perfect place for students to grab a healthy snack or stock up on some cheap but decent wine and foods galore. I picked up some individual wrapped tofu and a bottle of Trader Joe's version of Teriyaki SoyVay. Told her to pat dry tofu and drizzle the sauce over the brick and microwave for a minute. You have the healthiest and tastiest snack ever! Curry flavored Naan with a premade mini box of Indian flavored Eggplant - Bhurtha makes a great eat/snack. Braided honey pretzel sticks with spicy hummus is deelish and the list goes on.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
One of the best TJ's I've been to! Their produce and fruit is always super fresh! (Much fresher than the one in LA that I go to twice a week). And they have a superb selection and always have the newest items! The store is a bit smaller than other TJ's, but it is very clean and has a much cozier, comfier feel. The staff is always really helpful and friendly. Extremely popular with the locals -- always bustling, but usually the lines aren't too bad. Love this place!
google avatar

Justin P.

Yelp
Last night I dropped my grocery bag on my way out, getting beer and broken glass everywhere and soaking everything in the bag. I was so embarrassed. Within seconds, several sympathetic TJ employees rushed over. They cleaned it up, gave us a brand-new canvas bag, and replaced all our soaked groceries, for free. It was especially generous because it was all my fault -- it was my own non-TJs bag that had broken, which I had packed myself. They really went above-and-beyond, ensuring my loyalty for many years to come. Nice work folks!!
google avatar

Jenna C.

Yelp
I LOVE Trader Joes, and I will refuse to live anywhere without a Trader Joes. Their produce selection is just awesome, and usually always fresh and nightly packaged. I love the bag of "Southern Greens" - great in soups or sauteed as a side dish. The service is great - people are friendly and always ask the customers if they need help. They usually have samples, which have introduced me to great convenient items like the frozen grilled chicken burgers. Great for a quick meal! I also like their tea and coffee selection, which is pretty affordable. I prefer the Organic Breakfast Blend, I think it's $7 (and this is a former Starbucks barista talkin!). Why four stars? The size. Compared to the Trader Joes on De La Vina, this one is pretty cramped in. So the lines can get subsequently long. Bring your own bags, save a tree!
google avatar

Yelp
Trader Joe's is always a happy place and this one on Calle Real is no exception. Apart from tight parking spots this shopping complex entertains their customers, a visit to Trader Joe's is always a joy. The fruits are fresh and though I live closer to some other supermarkets, I would come buy bananas and jazz apples here. My other favorite items are the espresso pillows they keep next to the cashier, speculoos cookie spread, rice cracker snacks, and their frozen Indian food.
google avatar

Yelp
I LOVE TRADER JOES! I only started to buy trader joes' products when i moved to goleta. I'm such a fan now. I love the fresh produce, the amazing 'dinner' entrees and the snacks! I always zip my way to the fruit/ salad section (amazing salad selection..and i hit the hummus/pizzza ). I love their garlic & mushroom pizza. it's fresh and delicious. the price is also reasonable. then, i would go get some samples from the stand and most of the time its amazing! my favorites at the freezer section are frozen chicken (asian style) , stir-fry asian vegetable, pad thai, frozen wonton, ice cream, and then i hit the snacks! So much good stuff at the snack stands. The service is awesome, people will always be happy to help you and when you check out. they are smiling and being so positive.
google avatar

Carly H.

Yelp
Favorite place to go for groceries! It is so perfectly small that I can do all of my shopping really quickly, and the bill is always ridiculously inexpensive for how much produce I get. Alcohol is also really cheap. The only thing that could make this place any better would be if they got a juice bar (PLEASE!?!) Try the steamed beets on the top row of the refrigerated produce section, they are really good! Staff is always extremely friendly. It gets really crowded at around 5 with the dinner rush, so avoid it then.
google avatar

Cloris C.

Yelp
Avoid weekends and after-work hours if possible. Parking can be a nightmare because of the small lot and I've seen the lines go to the back of the store. Despite that, Trader Joe's is awesome! A lot of basics are cheaper than you would find at Vons or Albertson's (a dozen eggs for $2.49, gallon of milk for $3.29, bagels for $1.79). Plus they have a lot of unique frozen and easy-to-make foods from a variety of different cultures. It's my first stop when I need to go grocery shopping. Also, the workers are so nice! They always seem so enthusiastic when you go to check out and offer recommendations for other products.

Yelp
I moved out of the neighborhood from the Goleta Trader Joe's and still go out of my way to shop there. Best parking of all 3 local stores and the most engaging staff. The sample table is easy to access and the helmsmen (greeters) and great at saying hello and being helpful. The art is beautifully arranged about the store and my son still looks forward to going there after all these years. This place is popular for so many reasons. Still the best prices in town on: Milk, cheese, eggs, pasta, marinara, OJ, chicken, pork chops, olive oil, organic coffee, breakfast sausages, cereal, granola bars, tortilla chips, cottage cheese, yogurt, bell peppers, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, and probably 20 other items I've forgotten.

Yelp
Thumb's up for affordable milk, lots of vegetarian frozen products (Fellow vegs MUST try their soy orange chicken!!), good selection of fruits and veggies, and great customer service. Gotta love tj's
