Went here for my first time and a Trader Joe's employee had a drink explode on the ground and splash me right when I started shopping. An apology would've been appreciated, or any acknowledgement....he just laughed with another employee. I was told you guys have great employees but today was a 1-star experience. Plus the fresh food options are seriously lacking. Left and went to whole foods around the corner...

Google
First ever that I was in a Trade Joe's and only 1 item out of 6 didn't taste good . A TJ Mac and Cheese red sauce with slices of uncured pepperonis dinner . The red sauce was bland and not much in the dish. The other items were DELICIOUS ! I'LL RETURN with the friendly service and employees help is GREAT !

Google
The manchester trader Joe's was a fantastic experience. My wife, who looked absolutely beautiful, joined me looking for some good grub. I absolutely love the hash browns. I got 5 packs of them. It will last about 2 weeks. So I will be back!

Google
Great location. Friendly staff and always stocked. The only challenge is getting in and out of the plaza but that isn't the stores fault. Overall great place to get the majority of your groceries. Highly recommend coming here.

Google
We love Trader Joe's and most of the time can't leave before we incur a $300 grocery bill but they shouldn't change successful products. My wife loved the Tomato& Feta soup but she feels they've changed the recipe and it's very disappointing to not enjoy it any longer. We love the fact we find new products consistently but the staples should stay consistent. Thanks Dennis and Marcia

Leslie at Trader Joe’s made my day! I wasn’t planning to ask for help, but when I had questions about eucalyptus and flower arrangements, she stepped right in with such kindness and enthusiasm. She helped me create a beautiful bouquet, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Her customer service was so genuine, I thought she was the manager! Turns out, she’s just an amazing person who believes in being kind. Truly one of the best shopping experiences I’ve had thank you, Leslie!

Google
Let me start off by saying that I absolutely dread going into this plaza because of all of the traffic however I absolutely love this store. It’s clean, great products and the staff is extremely knowledgeable and sweet. My most recent experience prompted me to write a review. My cashier was an absolute sweetheart! My little ones adored her as well, thank you for making our shopping experience wonderful!

Google
The bottle deposits in packaged drinks is crazy expensive. The service is better than traditional grocery stores. The offerings are similar to the traditional small grocery store. Nothing very different from what I've seen except the frozen foods. Those are not the best options if you are watching your salt intake.

Yelp
There's a decent fresh produce section at this Trader Joe's and a huge frozen section. West Hartford feels tiny after this store. Novelty end caps keep the experience fresh all year. Including this Trader Joe's. Alas no more pumpkin spice in spring, but plenty of lemon and other novelties in its place. Your kid can get a lollipop if they find the husky/huskies, so be sure to tell the cashier. If you're an adult who likes the stickers, you too may get a section from the big sticker roll. The bread is totally pre-frozen, so stick to the supermarket for this. Friendly vibe as every other Trader Joe's, so do your part to keep it that way (insert smile enoji!).

Yelp
The Monteli Pizza Crust Trader Joes used to carry has been discontinued. Put your John Hancock on this petition so we can get it back! https://chng.it/L2kQH2ctLS

Yelp
This location sells moldy fruit. Every time I try to buy blueberries or grapes I see moldy old soft fruit that shouldn't be being sold. Also they are frequently out of their most popular items

Yelp
Not impressed. This is a very small store with very few items to hose from. The brands always seam strange so I am not sure if it will be good or not. I prefer a Whole Foods store or even a regular grocery store.

Yelp
Let me be honest. I Love Trader Joe's. From the very first time I went into their store (I think it was in Hadley, MA?) I have been a fan of their excellent quality and super reasonable prices. We usually go to the very crowded West Hartford location, which at times can resemble Nickel Beer Night at a Demolition Derby. Terrible parking, terrible drivers (cars and carts), rude shoppers and big slices of nastiness. Our first visit to Trader Joes Manchester was a real revelation, because it was bigger and a whole lot cheerier than its cross-country neighbor in West Hartford. The aisles were pretty wide, especially noticeable in their produce and frozen food sections. We picked up all of our Trader Joe staples, dirt cheap breakfast cereals, excellent salsas, frozen pot stickers, and the very best jarred Marinara sauce we have ever found. As is the case with all Trader Joe's locations, the front of the store employees have great personalities- funny, conversational, and super friendly. All in all, we had a very favorable experience here.

Yelp
This TJ seems to be smaller than most and has less selection. Nevertheless, it is hard to not love this store!

Yelp
All this time I've been driving to Manchester and how is it that I didn't know Trader Joe's was here??? I'm so ashamed of myself. I really liked this Trader Joes in comparison to the one in North Hampden, and its not just because you can get booze at this one, but its bigger, and I saw a couple more options at this location. The one at NH always has a ridiculously long line but this one its nice and spacious enough so there wasn't a line. It's also conveniently located to so many places we like to visit while we're here anyway. The mall at Buckland hills, The Evergreen mall, its honestly situated perfectly.

Yelp
After all the wait and anticipation for this new Manchester location, finally they are open for business. It's been open less than a week but I couldn't wait to check it out ....I had to see for myself what all that rave and fuss was about. I have only once been to their West Hartford location and back then I thought of it to be a glorified Aldi's. Well known for their creative frozen and prepared foods @ a good price point. Just to give you a glimpse on what kind of products you can expect (if your new like me), here are a few of Trader Joe's newest in 2018: -Unsweetened Almond, Cashew & Macadamia Nut Beverage &2.29 -These Peanuts Go On A Date Bars $2.99 -Mixed Mushroom & Spinach Quiche $2.99 - "boozy jam" Peach Bellini $3.99 -Dark Chocolate Toasted Sesame Caramel $2.99 -Cucumber Avocado Body Butter $4.99 -Smoked Salmon Poke Bowl $5.99 -Shawarma Chicken Thighs $ 4.49 -Gluten Free Norwegian Crispbread $2.99 -Cauliflower Gnocchi $2.69 -Honeycomb Honey $6.99 -Sprouted Whole Grain Pizza Crust. $3.99 That said the store is tiny. Only good for some unique/one-off products that you may end up coming back for I guess. The checkout counters are squeezed and cumbersome... there is barely any counter space to lay your buys.

Yelp
Worth the drive to Manchester. Bigger and less crowded than the West Hartford TJ's. Even the parking lot is bigger and offers more options.

Yelp
We LOVE this Trader Joe's, nice selection of fresh fruits and veggies. Norwegian Salmon was delicious and great selection of Gluten Free foods. The associates are friendly and very helpful!

Yelp
I've rated this Trader Joe's a 5 star when it opened but this store has now been open quite a while. You know what? I would rate it 10 STARS if I could!!!!! I feel so blessed to be near a Trader Joe's. I can go and get my all time favorite ice cream. I can go get my favorite frozen Asian dishes that are ready to cook. I can get my pound plus chocolate!!! There is nothing that is bad. Everything is amazing!!!! The service at Trader Joe's is amazing. The parking is not so good, but I deal with it. Drive. Drive now! Thank me later.

Yelp
**The staff was helpful, friendly and efficient. This review should not reflect poorly on the staff. They were the saving graces of this experience.** Not the best TJs experience. Store was small and packed on a Saturday night at 8:30pm. The entire mall lot was a speedway and we watched one person narrowly get run over. Geez! Grabbed a few things, tried to use the bathroom but there was not one shred of TP in either bathroom. Wicked crowded, items were hard to find (staff was helpful here) and very limited selection. Will stick with the Warwick, RI, WeHa, CT and Foxboro, MA Trader Joe's.

Yelp
I was so excited when this store opened a couple of years ago - I love Trader Joe's but the WH always felt like a hassle (despite being equidistant from both locations). The Manchester location is set in a busy shopping plaza in Manchester but once you walk through the doors it is a breath of fresh air - so spacious! While I've never been during peak hours, I've always found almost everything I'm looking for (sometimes I'm a little too late to pick up season only items ) but being able to cross off my shopping list is a great feeling. Last night was my first time going closer to closing time and it was so quiet - according the cashier it's usually never that quiet! In fact I walked in and thought they were actually closed! Unlike my experience in WH at closing time the aisles weren't jammed with crew members stocking the shelves .... what a pleasurable experience. I definitely will make this my go to Trader Joe's if given the option between Manchester or WH. Great all around shopping experience!

Yelp
For years, I had to travel to West Hartford to shop in Trader Joe's. Now there is one in Manchester. That is cool. The shop is neat and cool like the West Hartford one. I love their food section. One of my favorites is the chocolate coconut almonds. Also I love the multi grain tortilla chips here. There are a ton of other food products I love here. There is a Total Wines right next store, which is a plus. Their cauliflower gnocci is legendary. If you just type cauliflower gnocci in google, all the results that come up are for Trader Joe's one. I liked it. But my favorite thing here was steamed chicken soup dumpling. Just microwave for 2 minutes and soupy dumpling is ready. I also tried the Quadratini wafer cookies. I would say it was ok. Shoprite has a store brand wafer cookies. That is the best wafer cookies I ever had. But this one was good too.

Yelp
This store is the worst of this chain. If you go and TRY to spend hundreds of dollars for your business they call the manager to the register. This man started asking why we needed so much and what were we doing with this food. Never have I had to explain what I needed bulk food for. But this manager denied the purchase and told not to come back unless it was only a few items. He was so unprofessional and rude. To threaten to call the police because we wanted a reason for denial of sale is sick. Other Trader Joe's never treated us like this store. Buyers beware of the Manchester store if your trying to buy more than a few items.

Yelp
I am updating this if I did not review. It is clean, busy( all ages) younger eating be, seniors. Extremely accommodating staff. A lot of Trader Joe's products are as good or better than original. Tons of fruits, vegetables, pre-made salads. One thing stands out- they double bag ( no charge) so one can carry it. Read labels carefully. Soy/sodium in other stores. Not as prevalent that I noticed here. A lot of heathy food options. Nice store

Yelp
I love this store. I used to drive west of the river to go to the West Hartford store frequently and now there is finally a location just 5 minutes from my home. We have tried so many delicious and funky meals and treats from this store. They get a lot of great seasonal items in stock that I use to make holiday baskets filled with goodies for my close friends and family. They always have a lot of interesting snacks and are constantly adding in new items. They have an awesome freezer section that comes in handy for when you just need to make a quick meal. My favorite items? Crunchy Cookie Butter Gorgonzola gnocchi Orange chicken Chicken fried rice All the fresh ravioli Caramel popcorn Frozen chocolate dipped bananas & strawberries Mocha mochi Churro bites Egg salad Seltzer's with a splash (lemon ginger is the best) Sunflower butter cups BBQ chicken teriyaki The list goes on, but you get the point. I also purchase bouquets of flowers from here often for work. The only thing I've had from here that I wasn't crazy about is the pre made salads. They are hit or miss so I just skip them and make my own. Overall this is a great store. Produce can be a little pricey but I always manage to find what I need. The staff is so friendly and it seems like they really like their jobs!

Yelp
Best grocery store ever! We started shopping at Trader Joe's as soon as this location opened and we have never looked back. The store is always so organized and the employees are some of the kindest humans you will meet in your life. We used to dread grocery shopping but now we look forward to going to Trader Joe's because it's more of an experience than just shopping. We love the seasonal products and their frozen food section is incredible.

Erin M.

Yelp
My family drives over an hour to shop at this store bi weekly. They have an amazing selection of all types of grocery products. The staff has always been more than friendly, welcoming, and ready to help if you have a question or concern. It's so rare these days to leave a grocery store feeling delighted in not only what you purchased but what you've spent, and this is our place to shine! Keep up the awesome work.

Yelp
Ok. So I'd never been to a TJ's before. Yes. I know. It's crazy. But my friend asked if I wanted to go on our lunch break and naturally I said yes. Oh. My. Goodness. I bought all the pumpkin flavored everything. Every. Thing. Also the maple butter that's not really butter? Fantabulous. All of the fall themed snacks I bought from here went over big at my Halloween party I had and I can't wait for all the winter seasoned themed food because I'm going to buy it all. Literally. All of it.

Yelp
Look who made it to the Manchester, I can't believe this store is finally opened. The perks of staying close by is yet another advantage. The store is known for its unique brand and also their products. Every time I make a trip to "Trader Joe's" its interesting to explore many products, well tempted to purchase those goodies! Love their prices for their quality.

Yelp
Just my observations after the climate and culture have changed, you would think Trader Joe's have hired many Trump supporters. The whole friendly, upbeat atmosphere has changed. I was in earshot near the greeter at the door today at approx 12:40ish pm, and she only greeted white people. Earlier in the week, I faced the same discrimination in the West Hartford store, and the manager did nothing called corporate and no callback. They may not care, but my 189+ weekly purchase will no longer happen.
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
I love Trader Joe's, or at least the others I've been to. My last experience has me a little disappointed. Couple of times in the store I had staff stand right in front of me as I was trying to make my selection. Although the check out staff was awesome! When I got home I discovered half of my avacodos had turned, and within a week my creamer had curdled (expiration is at the end of the month). The store was loud and I just didn't get the same warm feel I have had at other Trader Joe's stores. Finally, I sent an email to tell them about the produce issues and never heard a response. Not the level of customer service I expected.

Yelp
I love coming here for my groceries needs. They offer unique items at a very good prices. The staff are always friendly and eager to help.
google avatar

Yelp
Very nice staff, they are super quick even with long lines. Staff is so helpful when looking for specific items. The person is in the entrance controlling the amount of people that go in at a time.

Yelp
I just moved here from California and was bewildered by the lack of any health food store around Storrs. Although this is not near Storrs, it's close enough. It felt good to walk into a store that I know of and find the brands and items that I like. The store is clean, and the cashier was wonderfully friendly (Jill). Deducting one star, because the girl who was greeting customers outside the door, seemed to be oddly selective about who she greets (she literally greeted the person after me but not me), so that left bit of a bad taste in my mouth!

Yelp
I'm so glad my area finally has Trader Joe's. I don't have to drive to West Hartford anymore and to be honest I think I drove over there like once every 6 months. This location seems to be thriving and the parking lot is always full which is a good sign. The staff is always outgoing and friendly and willing to help whenever needed. They also put out samples which is always nice to try out some of the foods they offer in their store. A lot of the products are great tasting. Some I have returned but they have a great policy in if you don't like it then return it. My favorite things so far in terms of foods are the Thai dumplings, white truffle chips, their tomato sauces, their fresh salad dressings and their cheeses. I'm here almost every week now. It's like shopping in toy store because they have so many pre-prepared foods that are really good overall. One of my top places to shop now.

Lynda D.

Yelp
Sooo glad to have TJ's near me again! Several years ago I moved here from Philly area where I had a TJ's a few blocks from my home. Came here and found the closest one was W. Hartford. Ugh. Not convenient and parking there was difficult. Plus weird vibe. I had some concerns about this new location -Manchester- because of potential issues parking and getting out of the lot. However, after avoiding Grand Opening period for about a month, I have since shopped there with no issues. I still LOVE how fast I can get in and out of the store. There is rarely a wait at check out. And the prices continue to be reasonable. Plus great vibe :)

Yelp
Honestly not impressed. I went in expecting to be able to buy at least a few items for my family but I walked out without anything for a few reasons. Firstly their selection of produce especially organic varieties left a lot to be desired. Secondly my son has a dairy intolerance and I follow a plant based diet. I'd seen a lot of innovative vegan options and brands at other Trader Joe's locations and found NONE of them here. They literally had one non dairy yogurt option and a few non dairy milks but most were shelf stable. They had no non dairy cheese. I feel like most of what was available here was novelty snack foods. 0/10 would not recommend for anyone with a dairy free or vegan diet.

Yelp
Took a road trip but glad I can always depend on my Trader Joe's! Walked in and felt right at home! Even though the aisles and location of certain items were different, it wasn't hard to reorient myself. Some employees were chatty and cheery but some were more quiet and subdued. They had all my go-to items so I can't complain!
google avatar

Lee S.

Yelp
Have been shopping here for months and have to say that it's a great little store. The people working there are very friendly and helpful and prices are good. Excellent selection of items for such a small space. Good amount of organics which I also love. I would give 5 stars but there have been a number of times produce needed to be checked better as items had already gone bad and items are missing and can't say that I always love the quality of their meat - it's hit or miss. But, such a great alternative to the sub par grocery stores in the area.
google avatar

Lorena S.

Yelp
I love Trader Joe's! The prices are great. The food quality is great. The customer service is great. The employees seem content with their jobs. It's just a nice atmosphere to do my groceries. Very quick check out process it's nice if you're in a rush.
google avatar

Jennifer J.

Yelp
The store is very clean and spacious and as with most of the Trader Joe's I have visited, the staff are very helpful and friendly. The produce and flowers at this store are also very fresh. And I love Trader Joe's prices.

Jackie N.

Yelp
Love my TJs!!! Great, friendly staff- always in a good mood and so helpful. They're doing a great job with sanitizing and staying safe during COVID - something I really appreciate. I don't feel comfortable going out many places now, so the fact that Trader Joe's is trying so hard to keep everyone safe and their store clean and with one way traffic is awesome to me. So many great vegan options - they're stocked up on my favorites: vegan Mac and cheese, vegan ranch dip, veggie fried rice, samosas, dried mango, pico de Gallo. Very cheap and always a pleasant experience!

Yelp
This review is for Manchester store. The employees here are friendly and helpful. Frozen food is great but have had to throw out some of the prepared foods because of taste. Also this location is hard to get in and out of. Prices are wonderful.

Davina K.

Yelp
Love this stores selection prices and service. 2nd to none with amazing customer service!

Jessica G.

Yelp
Thank you to everyone there! Fully stocked, everyone was sooo nice and reassuring. First time there because I heard friends said they really liked it (and that they have most everything, unlike the normal grocery stores I normally go to). I just really really appreciate the level of customer service here and I'm sure I'll be a customer well into the future.

C L.

Yelp
Every time I shop here it is not a chore, it's an experience. If you need a kindness boost stop in. Even though I live 30 minutes away I still make the weekly trip because of the usual and unusual finds. The products are fresh and fun making the trip a pleasure every time. The employees give you the impression that they really really love their job. They are there to guide you going out of their way to find what you are looking for and are very knowledgeable in the placement of every product. One particular trip will always stand out for me. I was upset because I just received grave news about my moms health. The cashier noticed I was upset and asked if I was ok. I told her about my mom. She went and got 2 bouquets of flowers and handed them to me and said "one for you and one for your mom". She has not idea what that did for me. I will be forever grateful because someone at TJ'S cared. I continue to shop here because the staff is as loyal to their costumers as the products they sell. Thank you Trader Joe's for making a difference in Manchester Ct.

M R.

Yelp
I am so happy that Trader Joe's came to Manchester! I continue to have wonderful experiences at this store and I love interacting with the staff. I've never heard anything but positive things from staff here and have even heard that it's their favorite job they've ever had! I love that this store takes care of its employees. Knowing this makes me feel better about giving them business! On top of that, the prices are great and the food is always wonderful - plus I wouldn't buy flowers anywhere else! They are always so beautiful and they last forever! I highly recommend this store and am so happy that they came to this area of the state.

Yelp
Finally, a TJ's east of the river! I'd been making the weekly trek to Whole Foods in Glastonbury, simply because the traffic to get from my town of Vernon to TJ's in West Hartford was a nightmare. Speaking of nightmare, the parking lot at the Manchester TJ's is just that. That's really the only negative thing I have to say. I almost got hit walking from my car across to the store. So, about the store...it's clean, well stocked, and the prices are really good for the quality. The employees are helpful & have great attitudes. I bought a bag of frozen mandarin style orange chicken that was amazing! I also love the chocolate covered cherries, and the soft Snickerdoodle cookies. And, that's usually happens when you try to promise yourself that you'll only buy very healthy foods here. Maybe it's the novelty of a new store, since I just had to wander up & down each and every aisle. And, at what other store does the cashier come running out of the store into the parking lot (avocado in hand) to tell you that one of the avocados you just bought was left in the cart? If it wasn't for the bad parking lot, I'd give this TJ's a five star review!
