Trader Joe's

Trader Joe's, the neighborhood grocery store and so much more! We have been shopping there for over 15 years. On the outside of the store before entering, they always have items, flowers or watermelon 🍉 or seasonal products. As you enter the store they have a nice size display of assorted flowers and herbs. Once inside you will see end caps between each aisle with unique items. Many items are Trader Joe's label like chips, cheeses, coffee, cookies as well as everyday basics like dairy, fresh produce and artisan breads. And they have an outstanding wine selection. Trader Joe's does have an issue. There are seasonal items that sell out fast, and we enjoyed many products that we would love to have all season, but we also know that the product can and in many cases be discontinued at any time. But with that said, we still love to shop there and sometimes we even stock up on the product, knowing it may not be there on our next shopping trip. Many products are priced to meet or beat the competition! The crews that work both the floor and registers are always willing to provide their assistance.

I went here with my 3 yr old son today. We don’t often go because of the economy but we had a gift card and my son was also really excited because of the little carts. He loves to go shopping with me so this was a big deal for him. He picked out flowers and a watermelon and put them in his cart. But my reason for this review is that everyone here was so kind, helpful and gracious!!! They were so nice to my son, who wanted to show everyone our flowers because he was so excited. At one point he accidentally tripped his cart over and several Trader Joe’s staff hurried over to help pick his things up, make sure he was okay, and even get us a new bag of plums. They also helped walk our groceries out to our car. These people were so kind and in this current world, that means so much. Highly recommend coming here.

Always clean and organized and the staff is always so nice! Please please please stock pepper jam more than just in September! I’m staring at my last jar and don’t want to open it because I will have to go months without it!

Great store. I often stop by to stock up on weekend snacks. They have wonderful unique snack options and very good prices. I miss the watermelon jerky. PLEASE bring it back. The employees are awesome. They are very helpful and friendly.

Today I bought a Trader Joe’s brand refrigerated (not frozen) chicken pot pie for $8.99 at Trader Joe’s, Rochester Hills, Michigan. I baked it in the oven per directions, but had to return it because of the sour taste. It only had a top crust. The rectangular “pie” itself was watery with strings of chicken (very few chunks), peas & carrots, potatoes bits, and mushrooms. The manager was kind and returned my money. My first time at Trader Joe's I was very impressed. The prices were much lower than the grocery store where I shop. We picked lots of pre-packaged food and a seasoned whole chicken and everything has been very good. We bought some Italian Chianti wine for $7 which was great. Will be stopping here a lot on my ride home from work.

Really love this store. Great selection of foods, fresh plants/flowers, seasonal items, and wine! Prices are low in my opinion and the people working there have always been pleasant!

Love love love this location. Employees are always so welcoming and can answer my questions. Produce is always fresh. I love the organic salad bags. They last double what kroget or meijer do. Buffalo chicken dip is my go to snack

I always seem to find something new to try which I love. This chocolate bar was a new find, so good.

What's not to love about Trade Joes? Long time customers know and apparently people just found out about the cheap beautiful flowers they have because the flower section at opening was packed. Me and other regulars were throughly entertained. Fresh food, cool snacks and nice wine selection.

Great store, always clean, always well stocked. Plenty parking. Staff is really nice and helpful, and on their busiest days you won't wait long in line, they always have a solid number of staff to assist, which is really appreciated. Highly recommend location.

Who doesn't live Trader Joe's! This is my go to grocery store every week. They have plenty of organic items. My son loves the kids grocery cart and can easily carry a small amount of groceries. The service here is amazing and employees are generally happy. They have accessible parking near the entrance and am accessible bathroom if needed.

While I love Trader Joe's, this is not my favorite one. The layout is a bit strange, they way they place their products compared to some others is a bit scattered. They are also out of products a lot more frequently then some of the other locations. I am not sure why. It is also a small space even though it looks bigger from the outside. It is an odd lot. I do think the individuals working here are as kind and helpful as the rest of the TJ's I have been to. They always go out of their way to answer questions, help find products, etc....The prices are also hard to beat compared to even Kroger. I like to come here for chicken or ground beef for a fraction of the price. This is the place I stop by after being at the Village of Rochester if I need to shop. I do like the location since I am in the area so often.

I have not gone to Trader Joe's very often in the past, but my route home now passes right by them, so I've begun shopping there. I have to tell you, the people there are so helpful kind and just downright nice. Even the cashiers have time to have a quick little conversation- that means a lot!! On top of that, I love their fresh vegetables, their breads, dips and fresh fruit! I've begun buying a lot of their pre-cooked frozen meals. They're quick and delicious-Specially, the orange chicken. I will continue to shop there. It's quick easy and a pleasant experience. Plus the prices are amazing.

ASK FOR CHARLIE ON WEEKEND MORNINGS!! He is the best customer service worker Ive come across in a long time. He's super personable, kind, funny and easy to get along with. This location has a great selection of food and many unheard of worth trying brands. The only negative to this location is how many people are always here! Which for the business isn't a bad thing what so ever but it can make your shopping somewhat chaotic. Which in turn makes the parking lot chaotic. I highly recommend grocery shopping here just be sure to have good spacial awareness!

Getting more nuts for our daytime snacks. Wild blueberries, almonds, shelled pistachios, Oregon hazelnuts, pecans, cashews, good source of energy. The hazelnuts and wild blueberries makes the nut mix that much better. Service is always good. Friendly staff. We had two staff members checked and bagged our stuff tonight.

First time at TJ's. Overrated. Felt like riches man Aldi. Brands that I wasn't familiar with misleading. Friends that were still cooked trouble oils but considered organic. Goods and junk food than anything supposedly in healthier alternative but not. Don't even get me started on the meat. Instead of Trader Joe's should be called better made snacks and frozen food. I don't eat food like that so I don't think I will be back.

I love Trader Joe's. My only problem with them is I wish there were more stores, closer to me. The 2 that I have near me, well, aren't so near. But I definitely make the 13 mile drive to this Rochester location because their products are THAT amazing! The stores are all laid out exactly the same, so shopping at one will look the same as shopping at another. I like the ease of that. And speaking of ease, the store, while not super large as whole is easy to navigate through, even at busy times. Employees are always super friendly and willing to help. I've often asked opinions about products or with help finding something. They guarantee all their items, so if you're not a fan of something, returns/exchanges are easy. Their floral department is amazing! A ton of fresh cut bouquets and foliage, at prices so low you won't believe it. They make great hostess, housewarming or celebration gifts. I've bought a few of their plants and succulents over the years and still have them. They offer great quality products, organic and not, at prices lower than you would except. From fresh produce and bread, to pantry items, a great frozen section, beer and wine, dairy and even personal care items and pet food, just to name a few. My go-to items here are the dried nuts/seeds and fruit, their "everything bagel seasoning", the Indian garlic naan bread, any of their quick frozen meals, and their beer. Definitely check out their beer and wine section- ridiculously low prices and their products taste amazing. 4 words to sum up Trader Joe's: consistency, quality, highly recommend!

It's always packed no matter what time you go which is very frustrating. The main reason I don't like this store is because of how crammed everything is together and how small the aisles are. I'm a smaller person and if there's even one or two people then good luck finding what you need because they'll be in your way. It's also very picked over for the items I'm looking for which they often don't have. I used to really like this store and buy eucalyptus all the time but now I'm too anxious to even try to go in and shop. Oh well.

I love the uniqueness of Trader Joe's. It's one of the few places I can get honey from all over the world. Not all honey taste the same and since I love honey I make sure I make the trip to get my fix of honey. I also really enjoy Cauliflower pancakes. You get six of them for $3.99 and bake them in a oven and top with French onion spread. Trader Joe's is always busy and sells many items under its own label. Because they purchase from small vendors you are always guaranteed to find new and unique stuff. The sauces in Trader Joe's are suburb. Especially the curry sauces. Trader Joe's is by far my favorite grocery store and has friendly, helpful staff.

Love this place. Everyone is always so friendly and helpful. I love their products. They have a nice cheese selection. Their flowers are always fresh and at a very reasonable price.

2019-02-22. Trader Joe's. Rochester Hills, MI. I think the appeal of Trader Joe's is that they have a lot of products you don't typically find at your big chain supermarkets. Many of Trader Joe's products are their own brands. Less fresh produce of course and imported items like cheeses. Everything from cookies to crackers to cereals to salad dressing vinaigrette seafood frozen dinners dairy products grains frozen pizzas cookies honey all of Trader Joe's brand even ice cream. Even drinks like soda lines salty snacks vitamin is all Trader Joe's. But they don't stop here, their line of products envelop the realms of gluten free products, organic products, and innovative creations even the big brands don't carry. Things like peanut better hazelnut chocolate spreads and frozen Korean noodles. They even have their own branded wine! Now I'm sure they're not entirely integrated for all their products and they contract out to many of the smaller local manufacturers for their products, but that doesn't really matter as they're still providing the specifications requirement and have to give the final stamp of approval before products hit the shelves. The best part of it all is that their prices are very competitive compared to the store brands of the big retailers. Came in only to check the place out, but ended up dropping $20 on some unique groceries. Check out my pics and see for yourself! I'm a fan... 4 stars. Best mac n cheese on the planet (frozen food section). Just wish they had one in the Port Huron area.

This is the best TJ! They are friendly, accommodating and super helpful. Even during this pandemic, they've continued to maintain such optimism that it's contagious - which we all really need! It's a pleasure to shop here. Thank you for all you guys do with cleaning, finding things and smiling along the way! Love the added outdoor music!

Trader Joe's has the absolute best Barata cheese I have ever had in my life! I go out of my way to get it. Store is nice. The people are so friendly. I recommend this place highly to everybody.!

One of my favorite locations, from their amazing, super friendly staff, to their store cleanliness. We Love going there for all TJ essentials and must haves!

You can find a lot of what you are looking for here, and at a lot better price than you would at a place like Whole Foods. But you won't find everything you are looking for here. Even though Whole Foods is outrageously priced, it's the only place you can find absolutely everything in one place. But I was extremely satisfied with the prices at Trader Joe's, and the amount of organic raw fruits and vegetables available. I found organic, ripe mangoes at the price of 1.49 USD each, and that is a hard find! That was the most impressive find for me at this Trader Joe's. I also found strawberries, blueberries, and greens at 2/3 of the price that I would find it at Whole Foods. There's not a lot of great packaged foods for vegans at this Trader Joe's location, but I did find some good vegan chocolate here. The writing for the labels on the produce kind of makes things a little confusing to look for, but it is creative and fun-looking! Would definitely come here for some delicious, ripe, and good-priced produce again!

My second trip to a Trader Joe's whilst visiting Mum. I love introducing her to "foreign" foods. Her word, not mine. I bought shrimp gyoza for dinner. She can't pronounce it, but she loved it none the less. Same goes for Tikka Marsala. I may get my mum to pass on pork chops and skip shepherd pie once she becomes a regular here. I'll let her keep the salmon, although Trader Joe's does have a really good frozen salmon microwave entree.

Good sized store. I got the Almond Milk EggNog (I saw on a Weight Watchers post). It was good, but thin in consistency. But we stocked up on our regular purchases. I like this location vs the Royal Oak location solely based on the parking lot. The RO parking lot is small and crazy.

I just moved to the area and this place has quickly become my favorite place to shop for groceries! I had been a big fan of trader joe's previously but this one is definitely one of my favorites. I think one thing that is consistent about Trader Joe's is that their staff goes above and beyond and at this location I feel that the beat my expectation. The staff was extremely kind to me and the small talk we made really helped me get settled down in my new home. All of my trips here I have been met with great staff and an abundance of food options to choose from. I am extremely happy with the location of this Trader Joe's too. It is in a large plaza with plenty of parking spots. I would highly recommend others to check out this location and to shop here.

Not sure if it's a weird Trader Joe's thing, but customers here get really close to you here lol. Like I walked in and almost got hit by like 3 grocery carts, got almost stepped on twice, and got cornered once. Yeah...what the heck was that

Wow! This Trader Joe's has the best customer service of any grocery store I have been to. Everyone was extremely helpful and so nice. Multiple workers helped me find everything I wanted to buy and I didn't even have to ask for help. It's not the closest TJs to me but I'll definitely be going back. This location is the best.

I have been a loyal Trader Joe's customer for a while now, but I usually shop at the Bloomfield Hills one (and I try to avoid the RO one, since it's so teeny tiny). Today I was in the Rochester area so I decided to check this one out. It's a little bigger than the RO location but smaller than the Bloomfield one. I was looking to buy some ginger, among other things, to use in a recipe tonight, and I couldn't find it so one of the nice employees directed me to it. They were sampling their chocolate truffles today too, which are awesome, so I helped myself to one of those. I bought a bunch of frozen foods too (their chicken shu mai + turkey burgers are delicious) as well as a baguette and some tomatoes, for my homemade bruschetta, and some mushrooms to cook with tonight. All in all, it's a good location and one I'd return to when in the Rochester area.

I just love this place! Especially during fall and winter, they have tasty seasonal products. If your a pumpkin lover, TJ will fulfill all your needs and more. My favorite products to get are packages of dried fruits, ground coffee, nuts, and snacks. This location is fully stocked and has a very friendly staff. I always have a pleasant experience here.

Don't lie... you never go to a TJ's and buy just one (1) item you needed. Thank-you cards, pretty chocolate bars, A-Z spices, ripe bananas, fresh flowers, coffee samples, mini ice-cream cones, pet food, vast beer/wine selection, toiletries, you get the picture! Plenty of parking and you can really find what you need here and explore possibly some unique/seasonal items nowhere else have. The prices are always reasonable and the staff is very informative and helpful. Stopping by TJ's at least once a week after work is like a treat/de-stressor for me. Hope everyone else feels the same!

I dont normally review grocery stores but this place has quickly become my new favorite local spot for groceries! I still need to get toilet paper and other goods at places like Kroger's, but when it comes to finding great food, this trader Joe's location never disappoints! The fruits and vegetables are always humungous and fresh, and they always have a beautiful variety of different cheeses that go great with your wine or pasta. And the sweets and frozen goods are always updated so theres always something fresh and new. They still dont carry cauliflower rice which makes me sad, only the inferior broccoli rice. But the most important reason for why I keep coming back is the amazing employees. They're constantly around keeping everything stocked and organized, always there to answer questions and help you find what you need, and always pleasant at the register when you pay. Always a positive experience at this trader Joe's location! Update! Just went there recently to get some delicious cheese tamales that were recommended to me by a friend and I noticed they have cauliflower rice again.

Hell yeah to cheap but good wine!!! It's like a slice of heaven after a day of stress and it's cheaper than the spa! I enjoy going to Trader Joe's. My bf and I try to visit when we can since we live about an hour away. Employees are usually friendly, they all wear Hawaiian type shirts, makes me think I should buy plane tix for Hawaii and find a cabana boy. Lots of healthy options at this store!

Trader Joe's is always a great idea. This one tends to be busy but there are plenty of parking spaces. The employees are friendly and helpful. They aisles are full of customers at times so as long as you're patient you will be able to grab your Trader Joe's favorites.

I love Trader Joe's... I don't live near one, so I don't go often and when I do I could peruse the aisles forever~ I just like some of the different varieties of things they have... It's a great place to pick up fun appetizers and prepared foods for gatherings. I don't think I'd shop at TJ's on a regular basis, but it's fun to go into a couple of times a year to pick up those fun frozen treats to whip out when company shows up, or when the last thing on your mind is cooking something. Great wine selections too! Inexpensive~! ME LIKEY ;-)

Great store for less processed foods, a bunch of organic stuff, and fresh meat! I love the store, service is excellent. They always have trial samples and free coffee. They bag your purchases in plastic or paper however you prefer. Also, they engage in conversation and are super friendly. I never had an attitude from any of the workers, which is a wonderful thing. I guess Trader Joe's treats their employees really well because they're always smiling and being courteous to your needs. I wouldn't shop anywhere else!

I am a huge Trader Joe's fan. I wish there was one in every city like Kroger and Meijer. Rochester and Bloomfield location are about the same distance from my home. Last night I stopped in the Rochester Hills location to get some grocery shopping out of the way.. SO glad I stopped in. Everything is very reasonable, so yummy and I've never had a bad experience. Every produce or fruit I've purchased has always been fresh. Spending a little under $100 my basket was filled with fruit, veggies, bread, frozen items, fresh meat, dairy, etc. Meals for breakfast, lunches and dinners, of course snacks too. I hope Trader Joes starts to open more locations. I think the perfect location would be Hall Rd. or Chesterfield area.

My favorite Trader Joe's. I love all of their products, you can find very healthy options here. The only problem I have is that it is ALWAYS packed, lol. So I don't go here as much as I prefer to casually grocery shop, not mad dash around the store to avoid bumping into people and children. It's a very small store. I will still brave the crowd if I really, really want something that they have. I love their orange chicken, homemade salads, fresh strawberries, and wine section. Actually, everything is good! Even the scented candles, I got the grapefruit candle for $4.99 and it has such a pleasant smell. The employees are always helpful and chatty. I'm due for another visit.

I can buy every food item I need from this one place and be happy! So many healthy and tasty choices at such great prices here! Some of my current favorite TJ items are: Raw almond butter, hemp seed bars, savory thin gluten free crackers, beef bone broth, almond cashew macadamia beverage, and frozen sweet and sour chicken meal, and they have these wafer cookies with a chocolate center that come in a lavender box but I forgot what they're called. Oh and I also pick up some home items like their tea tree shampoo and conditioner (use this once or twice a month to deep clean and condition your hair).

I appreciate the Trader Joe's chain and the variety that it provides. This particular store is my favorite in the area. Employees are unfailingly nice and helpful. One cashier even put plastic bags over my open brown bags because she saw that it was raining and didn't want my food to get soaked. The store is larger than the one in Royal Oak and parking is easier. It's a pleasure to shop here.

Trader Joe's is my preferred "healthy food" place to go. Prices are much better than Whole Foods, selection for produce is as good if not better

Come for the pantry staples, but if you're on the lookout for produce, be very careful as to what you pick up. Some of it can be pretty deceiving, and before you know it, 2 days out, and you realize the broccoli you picked up has begun to yellow, or there's mold on other veggies. That being said, Trader Joe's as a whole is an awesome organization. Great values, wholesome individuals who run the store, and the business model is genius. This RH store specifically has some of the coolest and approachable people that I've met at various locations. What's worth getting here? Cheese, nuts and seeds, bananas, seasonal gifts and treats, ethnic frozen eats, chocolates, wine. Everything else can be hit or miss. I'll continue to be a loyal TJ shopper, and suggest that if you happen to be in the area, this location is a great stop! Next to this one, my other favorite location is the one on Telegraph and Maple in Bloomfield Township.

Thank goodness for Trader Joe's existence! I can shop for organic food at affordable prices. I occasionally shop at Whole Foods for certain items but I can find similar products like pastas, soups and sauces about $2.00 less at Trader Joe's! I think the store's layout and adventure theme is fun and inviting. The staff is always great and they are very helpful if you have any questions. They carry all varieties of nut butters like almond, cashew and macadamia. I recommend the sunflower seed butter it's only $3.99 for a jar and very yummy! I also love the strawberry yogurt o's it's one of my favorite cereals. However, I have to warn against Trader Joe's brand for 1,000 mg vitamin c supplement! I usually buy the lemon lime flavor EmergenC brand which comes in individual packets that you mix with water. I have used this supplement for two years now and it gives me an energy boost plus it's better than taking the 500 mg vitamin c pills when I' m sick! I noticed the Trader Joe's brand was cheaper so I bought that instead figuring it would taste the same. I was wrong! I tried the strawberry flavor and it tasted like nasty chalky cough medicine whereas the EmergenC brand taste more like a vitamin water. I know not to make that mistake again.

I am overall very happy with this store. Just got back a few hours ago. If I have ever had a question, I will have a store employee share as much information as possible. I wish I remembered the one guy's name when I was in last month but he was wonderful. I started a new health plan and was looking for 8 or 9 specific items. He stopped inventorying his stock and helped me locate each individual one with a smile the entire time. I was impressed. All the staff seem approachable and willing to help. I enjoy the products offered by the company. Good quality meats and dressings that fit my program needs. And it helps that everyone is friendly. Store policy requires a limited number of people in the store at a time due to Covid orders so you may have to wait to get in, but it has been worth it. I now plan to make the hour drive each month to get what I need. My favorites are the meatless meatballs, the mahi mahi burgers, the shrimp burgers and the spicy chicken sausages as well as the mild salsa, all Trader Joe brand.

I cannot begin to say enough good things about TJ's. I do 99.99999% of my grocery shopping here. The selection and staff are amazing. I come from Macomb County where there is nary a Trader Joe's to be found. I grew up on Kroger and have shopped there for most of my life. I had no idea what I was missing. My girlfriend turned me on to TJ's when I moved in with her(Awwwwww isn't that cute?) Praise the lord she knew what was up. The selection at TJ's is borderline incredible for being the size it is. They stock a plethora of fresh produce and meats. Beyond the organic produce they have some of the coolest stuff. Sweet potato tortilla chips? Yes please. Mango sorbet? Yep, in my garbage disposable of a mouth. My girlfriend has a specialty diet and we can pick up most everything to keep her in tip top shape here. The beer here is also pretty stellar. I was a bit leery of the Trader Joe's brand beers. This is, until I saw it was made by Unibroue. We have a few bottles aging in our cellar. Good stuff. The best part though? The price. I always try to keep a running total in my head while shopping so I know what to expect at the register and I am consistently higher that my total. I'm no rocket surgeon but I tend to believe I can handle basic addition. Maybe I'm wrong or maybe Trader Joe's is just effin' great! P.S. fresh mozzarella cheese sticks can only be described as transcendent.

Trader joes had always been my favorite!!! I have many great stories about how helpful and cool they are, but today I just want to let everyone know that when Steven asked (at the register) hey how's it goin? I told him not so great... My daughter moved out and took my grandson (the little guy I've brought here for 5 years!!! My little buddy who I've helped raise.).. He felt so bad, said be right back-- and came back with a fresh cut bouquet of flowers and said I'm so sorry for you! Then I started crying. That was such a kind act and I'll never forget it! LOVE YOU GUYS!!! Thank you

I love this store and it's great for getting my frozen veggies and lentils. I also come here for their tortillas and seasonal items which are great. Also they have a fantastic selection of spices and some are also seasonal.

I love TJ's!! This location is like 4 blocks from my home and the place is awesome. I love the fact that I never have to wait for more then 2 mins in line before I get to check out they are super fast and accommodating. They have a wide variety of organics and all natural healthier food options and they are actually very cheap! All of the workers are really friendly and are very helpful .I really can't find anything bad to say about this place?!?! Oh yeah and if you haven't tried the Trader Joe's Vanilla or Chocolate Ice Cream TRY IT!! Its Fantastic!
