My partner booked a room for our anniversary recently and we loved it! We got upgraded, nice wee space & we enjoyed having a heat pump in the living area and bedroom. Nice big shower! We had really amazing food at the restaurant & great service , definitely recommend the swordfish! We would’ve loved to stay longer but it was a nice getaway not far from home :)

Love the location and rooms are beautiful. Our Eco room was made up during our stay which was a nice surprise as we didn't expect it to be. Unfortunately I have to share that our experience in the restaurant was not great, meals weren't good at all - dry pasta lamb ragout, (added table water to make it palatable) , tough $48 steak special, hubby's gelato sweets he was only given a half serve and missing some ingredients. We stayed a few months ago and meals were wonderful so don't know what's happened in that time. On the positive side the entree sized meals were pretty spot on.

I have had nothing but lovely customer service. I am however, disappointed in the room’s maintenance. It is cleaned nicely, but run down. I saved up for ages to come and stay for a dog grooming event. I’m glad that the customer service staff are doing what they can to rectify the situation and are sending maintenance staff to fix it. I am hoping I will come away happier than I feel right now. The hotel is advertised and priced as a high quality location to relax. I haven’t felt relaxed with wires hanging out near my head where I sleep. It smells dusty too, but that probably from the holes in the wall. 🙃

Alvin and Ben are legends. While I was having a delicious dinner, they were absolutely spoiling me with service. Turns out we happened to be on the other side the world (NYC) at around the same time! I would *highly* recommend dining at Tradewinds. With the 5 star service, you won’t regret it!!

We had a great night out at The Tradewinds for the Star Wars trivia night. A big shout out to Lily, for a great Star Wars themed cocktail, and also to Bec for service at the bar with a smile. Thanks ladies. And the food was great as well. Indigo was full of happy vibes and very was helpful. Francesca kept everything moving along and was efficient and attentive. Thanks all for a great evening.

Our experience - On our return from Scandinavia, we had a particularly difficult delayed flight arrival to Perth overnight . After a smooth checkin to Tradewinds the dining room was our next stop. We were impressed by the team there. Particularly efficient and friendly, led by Alvin, immediate attention to our choice of table drinks and food order was smooth. This jet-lagged and a little vague, but unconcerned, our requirements were quickly clarified with great communication and warmth by Alvin whose quiet manner and communication with fellow staff was apparent. We were well fed with delicious meals and drinks. It felt great to be home in WA. We would like to particularly mention staff person Ben who maintained service throughout the meal and to thank for assisting my husband with luggage. We use TradeWinds as our preferred accommodation provider in Perth for this very reason. Thanks again Team Trade Winds! Arrival and checkin was a smooth and pleasant experience, room spacious and clean, modern and great size for staying more then one night. Dinner onsite was fabulous. Our waitress Ella was so helpful, moved the heater, cleaned a table to give us a better view. Informative with the meal specials, knew the menu and provided guidance. Service was efficient and she was attentive to our requests. Loved Ella

This is an apartment-type hotel with a kitchen, sofa, coffee table, desk and chair. The first room they put me in was very dirty with cobwebs and years of built up dirt on the furniture. The A/C also didn't work, the refrigerator had dried, old food crumbs, and there were burnt out light bulbs. It was rectified by moving me to a different room. But, why would they even put me in a room that was THAT dirty? The housekeeping staff failed in a big way. In the new room, the bed was comfortable, the A/C worked well, and the overall condition of the room was acceptable. One thing that didn't work was the stovetop, and they couldn't get it to work. The free laundry room was a nice amenity. The free wi-fi was streaming quality. The restaurant is very expensive, but that's everywhere in Australia. I found a market a few blocks away to get groceries. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Some rooms face a very busy roadway, so ask for a poolside room which is protected from the road noise.

Yelp
Woeful slow service, bar staff having a chat between themselves don't give a damn. Want cutlery? Plates? Go get it yourself

Yelp
Well, this pub was a little flash, but it was still quite charming. Since it isn't located in the heart of Fremantle, it is a little quieter than some of the others, but it does have some absolutely extraordinary views over the river. It was actually quite nice and relaxing, and had some really friendly staff as well. Oh, and I probably should also mention the nice selection of beers, but that seems to go without saying in this part of the country. Oh, and there was a magnificent outdoor area as well, basically looking out over the river. Certainly quite a lovely pub.

Yelp
Been here for two nights and the food here is just awesome. Had the chicken schnitzel the first night (probably the best I've had in a long long time) and a pizza they called the spagnolo a 8/10 for me. Been here for a week, pretty much tried everything on the menu and all was just O for awesome. Great place to eat

Yelp
Whoa! I had a flavour explosion in my mouth. I love going to the Tradewinds every so often as the view is great and the food is good but it has changed since my last visit and become awesome. The menu has the usual burgers, pizza etc but they have an interesting selection of other "must try" too. I had the mushroom crepes because mushrooms are my favourite, but what they did to the taste was brilliant. Thank you Mr Chef. Then onto dessert but this chocolate mousse was far from ordinary, it looked like something from a five star restaurant and tasted just as good. The waitress we had was absolutely perfect too. I'm going back more often now.

Yelp
I've ridden past this iconic hotel many times over the years and recently decided to give it a go as an alternative to the Monk & Little Creatures - what it lacks in local craft beer it makes up for in the vista over the Swan, space and comfort without the hubbub of the other two popular Freo watering holes Middle of the road tunes, well dressed waitpeople, Long benches with stools, outdoor lounge suites with low coffee tables or the traditional cafe style table and chairs provide plenty of seating/dining options (without a trace of op-shop "shabby chic") makes the Tradewinds almost the epitome of "alternative" in a sea of "me-too" alternative micro bars in Freo trying to scream through their dreadlocks and sleeve tattoos that "I'm way cooler than you" ... First stop was just for a quick drink, ($11 for a pint of James Squires Cider Crush) second visit we tried the food (and another cider ..coz I'm fussy about beer) . Whilst I was tempted to try the pork belly @ $32 ... we opted for 2x Steak Sandwiches between 4 of us - plenty to go round and @ $25 each worked out to be reasonable value for money.(see pictures added above) Nicely done sirloin - not over - not under, bacon, caramalised onions, lettuce, tomato, aioli and a decent bun, probably a littel under seasoned for my taste but all round good value with an acre of beer battered chips and complimentary tomato sauce .. Ambience is relaxed outside or in and a nice touch with the constant misting to keep the heat down outside. Views are great and not a busker or duck call to be heard ...... Cheers Coxy

Yelp
When Tradewinds Hotel renovated their corner bar a couple of years ago, it was clearly a grab for a slightly classier demographic than they'd been associated with previously. They didn't get it, and thank god for that. As a result, this is still a working man's bar, filling up with tradies in the evening, which give it a much better vibe than if it were full of the slightly softer locals who are probably more likely to head to the nearby Left Bank. It's nicely decorated, capitalising on its' excellent view of the Swan River, but it hasn't lost any of what it had before, which they hopefully consider to be a win. Drinks here are expensive and the wine list is shithouse, but the tradeoff is that they have some nice beers on tap. You can order food, but it's not really the kind of place I'd come for dinner. It's more of a good place to head for a sundowner, liquid lunch or a boozy afternoon with some mates. For me, it's the perfect place to head if I can't be bothered with making my way into central Freo. It's a very good pub.

Yelp
This has become our local because the scenery is great, the service is good and you can always get a comfortable spot. The food can be a bit hit and miss - sometimes it's amazing and sometimes you wonder why they didn't cool the burger bun, but when you're heading to the pub it's all about the people. Parking can be problematic but there's a bus stop close by.

Yelp
Went for after work drinks recently. Drink Prices are in-line with similar outlets - food prices seem a little steep considering the serving sizes. On our table were a few burgers, the pork belly, a Caesar salad. We had asked for no anchovies on the salad which did come out with anchovies - once alerted the staff were VERY diligent and knocked up a salad post haste. Everyone who had burgers seemed happy with their choice. The Pork belly came out on a cold plate and sucked all the heat from the dish quite quickly. The flavour was still nice.

Yelp
We frequently head to the Tradewinds for a beer on a Sunday afternoon, and would highly recommend it as a spot to have a bevvy before starting the week afresh. The food menu includes some pizza, regular pub foods and seasonal specials. The quality of the food is highly variable and I wouldn't head to the Tradewinds for a quality meal, but if all you're after is some average pub fare to go with your beer you'll be satisfied!

Yelp
Came to the Tradewinds for lunch on a Saturday, and it was not as busy as I would have expected. Saying that, it was very noisy. The meals were good, everyone at the table seemed to enjoy there meal. I had the steak sandwich, and although it was not the best I have ever had, it was by no means bad. Good portion size. Dessert menu was limited, but good choices. I had the choc and White choc mousse which was great. Where the Tradewinds falls short is the service. 2 menus for 6 people, 15 minutes to receive a glass of soft drink, and forgetting 2 of the 6 desserts, which then came out about 20 mins after the other desserts, but we did have to prompt them about this. All up it was a good meal, just need to improve the service.

Yelp
So number 4 on my Yelp resolution [to try ten places I've not been to before] was an unintended visit to the Tradewinds Hotel. Nice location, overlooking the Swan River, near where it meets the ocean. Great selection of seating in the outdoor area but... lacking in soul, service and food quality. Yet another Perth waterside establishment that thinks all it needs is the view to be considered a quality venue. Bzzzt, wrong.

Yelp
Generous open outdoor bar area with a lovely view over the Swan River but sadly a few numbers off bingo. We happened to be passing by on a Sunday night and decided to give the Tradewinds a go for dinner. It also happened to be bingo night. Though the atmosphere was great and the bingo host had some creative rhymes, the so called 'vegan' pizza came out with dairy based cheese so starvation impeded our ability to enjoy the night. If you're going to be nice enough to say you cater for special dietary requirements, it'd be nice to follow through. Though we wanted to love this place, will be continuing down the Canning Highway on to Freo next time.

Yelp
Sunday lunch for about 8 adults. it took 25 minutes to get a first drink then took over a hour to get 'bites'. this is a MANAGEMENT issue. There were not enough staff to adequately service the customers wanting to PAY you to provide food and drinks! The waitstaff were great but the kitchen staff were 'stuck up'. Food was, well what you paid for. The steak was order medium-rare and delivered over done. The burgers were dry. The fish and chips was barely one fillet of fish. OK it was only $20 but did we have to wait one and a half hours? Again, the waitstaff are GREAT. Management and kitchen are so so! Overall rating 2/5
