Tldr - Service is very casual, food is good. Single restroom Place with a cool vibe. The food was pretty good as well. We all enjoyed the food we ordered. As mentioned, there was a single server working the entire restaurant. She was nice and pleasant. Just hard for her to get around the entire place on her own. Also, if you need the restroom during your visit there may be a line for it as it's a single restroom for the establishment.

Very nice warm environment. The waitress was really nice and helpful. I had the mac and cheese with brisket and it was the best thing I ate on my trip to Taos. Amazing restaurant.

I really liked this place. We ordered the Reuben Sandwich, BBQ Brisket Mac and Cheese, and Enchilada Chicken Asada. The food was all very tasty. Our waitress was great. It used to be a market, but the owner is moving it towards more of a restaurant which is a great decision.

The Trading Post has a very welcoming vibe. We had some pretty tasty pizza. I like how the crust isn't some dull end to pizza. The service is decent and quick. The restrooms are clean. We had an interesting view as one of the patrons parked his donkey out front while he sat inside.

First time at the Trading Post for dinner. I had the steak, which was very good, my daughter had the pizza which she loved. The atmosphere is casual, the staff was friendly and Ky was attentive (thanks Ky). Definitely have a pizza when you visit this restaurant, it is so good

The BEST green Chile pork stew around. So delish & not overly spicy. Tuna tartar was prepared nicely. The wine margarita was a bit tart but still good. Prices were reasonable.

Shout out to the chef who made an absolutely perfectly cooked rare bison burger with blue cheese and raspberry bacon jam. Best bison burger I have ever eaten. Dinner companion had brisket enchiladas Xmas - yum. Consistently excellent food keeps us coming back and recommending to all.

This place is great! Great menu. Had three kids with us 10 and under. Was able to keep everybody happy. Some awesome offerings for the adults too! Friendly service.

Yelp
You must be drunk or high on something to rate this place above a 1 rating. Eat there last night 12.28.24 around 6p. They had one waitress and 2 cooks. We seated ourselves at a table and waited to be waited on. Nothing happened some we moved to the bar around the grill. I had full view of customers food being prepared oh my goodness. What a mistake on choosing to eat here. There was a man and a woman cooking the woman she was wearing rubber gloves and was ok but the male cook needs to go. He was preparing food with his "Bare hands" and not washing at all not one time in a hour of watching like a hawk. He would wipe his hands on his nasty dirty apron and the handle the food with his nasty dirty hands. He prepared a dish of Mac & Cheese he reached in the container on the prep food bar got 3 bare handfuls of Macaroni and put in a pan before putting it on the grill. Yuck nasty. I thought glad I'm not the one to order that. They spray this Nonstick nasty spray on both side of the meat or chicken to keep it from sticking to the grill. I know that's not healthy or right for anyone to eat after the heavy spraying of that nasty spray... The male cook took a chicken breast of the grill and cut it up with a dirty knife after he got done with cutting it up and putting on a serving dish he wiped of the knife with a nasty used rag (hand towel) and took the nasty rag and wiped off the food prep counter with the rag. Contamination of food is a big issue with germs. Potatoes that was cut up for French fries setting in a pan on the counter uncovered and waiting to be cooked with reaching in with his bare nasty hand and put them in the deep fryer. The floor in the grill area is very nasty to. I ordered a hamburger well done and when it finally got to me to eat I cut into half into, it was so raw I couldn't eat it and sent it back. I watched all this unfold before my eyes and he seem to not care me and my partner was watching them cook the food that customers ordered. I will never eat at this place again and I highly recommend other people not to eat here. The Health Department needs to take notice and shut the restaurant down for unsafe and preparation of food. Be careful people here you eat and watch the cooks and staff at all measures for you safety from food poisoning and germs. Do your homework your paying big bucks for your food it should be cooked and prepared at its best.. Don't eat here for your safety and well being!!!!!! Sincerely, JJ

Yelp
Couldn't ask for better food. The Al Pastor dish was exceptional, as was the green chile pork stew. What an extensive menu! If you can't find something that interests you then you're not hungry. Very personable staff. All smiles and engaging. Warm atmosphere, with open kitchen.

Yelp
This was our first visit to this establishment. I had read good things about it and wanted something different for dinner. The Ahi Tuna sandwich was calling me. We arrived and found a sparsely populated but large restaurant with 4 dining areas. We opted for a 3 top in what I'll call "the library". There is a wall full of books on cooking and food. We had this smaller space to ourselves. There was a smaller room just beyond, and it appears to have just one table with a young couple who appears to be on a date. I was happy for them to have such and intimate spot. When you walk in, you enter a large room with tables, a bar and an open kitchen behind. I would have loved to sit at the bar and watch them work, but after walking through the second large room that had a large party having a meeting of some sort, I found the library and knew that was our spot. Service was efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. We were trying to decide between the green chili cheese fries and one of the 5 ! Mac and cheese choices. We went with the fries and were very impressed. They are absolutely loaded with fresh chopped chilies and cheese. Great flavor without being overly spicy hot. As a matter of fact, the spice level was quite mild, which I enjoyed very much, as I had had some of the hotter green chili ever for breakfast and needed a break. I'm amazed to see I typed that as I love the heat, but seriously, I needed a break as my belly was still warm from eating some of that leftover green chili burrito at lunch. This is also why that Ahi Tuna sandwich was calling me. A major break from spicy food. It was the perfect selection. Everything about it was perfect. Big thick chunk of tuna perfectly cooked. The bun was grilled to perfection. LTO and the perfect Mayo topped it all off. She had the burger sans LTO and add cheese. I had a bite and it was absolutely delicious. Thick patty was cooked to "medium" perfection and was juicy and had an amazing beef flavor. We did opt for dessert- a chocolate mousse with a rich raspberry sauce and dollop of whipped cream. It was served in a to-go box but we had no issue with that as most of it was going to be taken home and savored in small portions over the next few days. Neither of us can really finish a full dessert these days. As I exited the library into the front dining room/kitchen I saw all the deserts in a large cooler. They all looked great. This one did not disappoint. To be honest, I can't wait to go back and try more of this menu and get to know these folks better. They are doing something special here. I wish them all the best!

Yelp
Wow! Saw the reviews on Yelp so we stopped by for lunch to meet the Rueben and the Cubano. We were not disappointed! Cute southwest interior, nice staff and a great brunch menu for Sunday. I had the agave wine margarita. It was limey tart and refreshing. The sandwiches and truffle fries were mmmm

Yelp
I'm not kidding when I say this place deserves a Michelin star. I've been to plenty of Michelin restaurants and this is worthy. I reviewed the trading post years ago when the previous woman owned it. Loved it. Loved her story. Now, often when a place changes hands it gets worse. I'll say it's a little less classy and it's now marketing itself as a market too...that said, wowza. The food is outstanding. Nothing fake. Nothing not fresh. Loads of flavor and comfort. We had green chili stew that came with yummy toasty flour tortillas. Also had the green chili fries. Amazing. They do those things I do at home...heat the bowls before serving, serve on little wooden plates. Broiling things and serving hot. You can see what's in the food. You can watch the guys make it (the shorter guy deserves a raise, he's an absolute machine). The agave wine marg was just as good as before. Pretty much everything we saw come out was beautiful. BBQ brisket Mac and cheese, gorgeous. Freshly cut and fried blue corn chips, stunning. A crazy good looking Ruben (which was invented in my home state, this one looked better than anything you can get back home). Beautiful salads. I can only imagine every single dish on this menu is amazing. I wish I lived down the street. Bravo! BRAVO and happy new year!

Yelp
This is some of the best food in Taos. I give this place 6 stars for the food and knock it down to 5 because it's a little weird in here. A few easy updates could make this place feel more cozy. The service was good, not great. Pulling back out onto the main road is also a bit scary.

Mark A.

Yelp
I had the green chile pork stew with fries. The fries are made in-house, according to my waitress, while onion rings are made from frozen. Good spicy kick to the stew, and fries were good and crispy. The stew comes with a tortilla on the side as well. They have desserts, deli meats and cheese, and food by the pound you can take home.

Jessica R.

Yelp
The food was good enough, but the service was horrible. Every dish took a long time & came out at a different time, I had to go get my drink from the bar because the waitress never came back with it, and when it was time for the check, we had to go find her. There's lots of restaurants in Taos so I'd skip this one.

Yelp
I live in Ranchos De taos and eat here once a week.... food is very good, people are super nice.. if they are really busy, service is a bit slow... but no matter, we enjoy our conversation... highly recommend!!

Yelp
Loved the lunch we had on eclipse Monday! Full bowls of green chili pork stew and chicken Mac and cheese! The Aronold Palmer's were not too sweet and paired perfectly with our lunch!

Erik H.

Yelp
This place is very unassuming. In fact when we got here, it looked like a little grocery market from the side of the building, we thought we had the wrong place! Just go in and it will make sense. This place is AWESOME. My son wanted pizza and I was bummed out because they have some great menu options....bUT DAMN I'm glad we got it. I'm 42 years old, and that was the best pizza crust I have ever had in my life. That pizza was absolutely perfect. We had the fried pickles appetizer that was freaking delicious too. My wife had the brisket tacos and she was eye rolling the whole time. She said the brisket was melt in your mouth, and had a vibrant citrus taste to them that was just on point all the way. Every time we come to Taos, we are going here. I can't wait to come back. Sucks I have to wait a year. Thank you guys for a great meal and a great time! Cheers for the beers!

Phillip J.

Yelp
The food was amazing we are always looking for the place to eat in every town. This is the place if you're in Taos. I had the burger and I kept looking at the menu thinking of what I wanted to try next time. Seriously everything was amazing and would highly recommend.

Yelp
I am a huge fan of Chef Ky's food. This is elevated diner food at its best. Prices are very reasonable and everything is delicious. Highly recommend the truffle fries!

Christina G.

Yelp
I ordered the green Chile cheese fries and the BBQ brisket Mac & Cheese. Both were delicious but the Mac & cheese was by far my favorite. 10/10!

Elly M.

Yelp
Probably one of the best meals I've had on my trip to the area. Can't beat that southwest/Mexican mixture done right. Everything was delicious (though you could probably hold back on the sweets), service is friendly and the vibes are chill.

Jan F.

Yelp
I have been here several times. Each time I have tried something different. Everything has been delicious. Great presentation. Friendly staff.

Yelp
This place is wonderful. They were recommended so we decided to give them a try for take-out. The atmosphere is humble, but clean. The waitress/hostess/cashier was very friendly, she greeted us when we came in, and came over quickly to take our order. We got take-out for four, two burgers, a Philly cheesesteak and a quesadilla, plus some green chile cheese fries. It was all so good! My burger was especially great, a full half pounder cooked exactly as requested, with generous amounts of cheese and of course green chiles. And the green chile cheese fries were just crazy good, so full of flavor! The Trading Post will be a don't-miss stop for my family and me when we visit Taos from now on.

Tanya D.

Yelp
I think the Trading Post Markets red chile chicken carnitas enchiladas are the best in town. The Caesar salad is really good too. Service is quick and friendly.

Marsha H.

Yelp
I was so disappointed. I must have picked the wrong things. Onion rings appeared frozen from a truck. Totally generic Philly sandwich and burger. If I try again I'll go with specials. .

Denise I.

Yelp
The food here is absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the green chili stew and my husband's favorite dish is the green chili cheesesteak. The food is obviously very fresh and homemade so no matter what you pick you can't go wrong here.

Jolene G.

Yelp
Wow! Totally worth the wait to try this place! I enjoyed everything about it and will be a repeat customer on a regular basis!!

Ted B.

Yelp
Great food, looked like high quality ingredients. Next time I'm in Taos I'll probably stop in again.

J C.

Yelp
I have heard about this restaurant but didn't go until last fall. It has become one of my favorites. Everything I have ordered in all my visits have been delicious. The Brisket Mac n cheese was yummy. As were the buffalo chicken and the other chicken option. I look forward to my next visit.

Scott K.

Yelp
Loved it, green chile cheese steak was delicious. You can tell the chef cares about the food the same way I do when I cook. And a rare thing in a place like Taos

Phil H.

Yelp
This place is an absolute gem! Got the green Chile and bacon Mac and cheese and fried pickles and both were as impressive as the Rio Grande!

Daniel V.

Yelp
We are local, so we eat at the Trading Post Market 3 times per week. It is now our favorite Taos restaurant for casual dining. We usually have the lunch specials, a green chili cheeseburger, or the tacos. We also never miss a Sunday brunch. It has a friendly atmosphere and we like to chat with Chef Ky about the ingredients in his recipes.

David T.

Yelp
My wife and I visit the Tradingpost Market and Cafe at least three times a week. Between the two of us, we've tried almost everything on the menu. We would have completed it by now, if it wasn't for the daily specials! We've never been disappointed, everything is excellent! The menu is varied enough for everyone to fond their "new" favorite meal. Everything is cooked to order and pretty much the way you want it. Some accommodations can't be made. I love the visual. Each plate is a work of art and tastes even better than it looks. Just remember, parking in front is scarce, but there's additional parking around the corner. It's well worth the short walk to get a really great meal. For what it's worth, we enjoy the atmosphere too.

David C.

Yelp
Great place had Caesar salad and pork stew it was amazing. Can sit and chat with the chef at the kitchen bar. Very friendly
