Great classic hotel with fantastic restaurant and nice terrace. We took a room with river view, with private sauna, it was clean and comfortable. Woodland all around, friendly staff. They could maybe empty the balcony ashtrays occasionally though eh?

Very nice reception. Nice to warm up after a cold night hunting the northern lights. Also very respectful people regarding their heritage and environment. Good breakfast. No five stars because I found the included menu a bit small for my apetite. But the quality was excellent. Rooms are warm and very tidy.

This hotel has refurbished but kept its 70s styling while fully updating its furnishings and decor. Good bar and restaurant if a little swish for our tastes. There are more relaxed options a short walk away though. Reception staff are friendly and helpful. Room was small but very well appointed and fitted out to a high standard. The aurora info screen seemed to be permanently frozen over though so no help in identifying aurora spotting opportunities.

Nice hotel at the river front, so not directly in town. Rooms are clean and nicely furnished. Great bathroom! Restaurant belonging to the hotel has great food, but bit pricy. Breakfast buffet is great and you can watch squirrels outside searching for seeds and nuts. Sauna is a separate building in traditional style. Overall very comfortable stay.

Beautifull apartments great service and friendly people. We seen the Northern lights over the frozen lake just outside our room on the first night once the clouds had cleared. During our stay we have walked around the town and with the snow fall it's beautiful. We also went on the Snow Ski trip to hunt the lights and even though we didn't see them due to cloud cover the night was fun with a small fire serving warm drinks and Finland sausages 👌

An amazing hotel, run by wonderful friendly people. We have just spent five nights here, staying in the rooms with a sauna and a view of the river. The food is first class, catering for all ages, our six year old loved it. Our baby granddaughter had her 1st birthday here and it was made very special. The bar area with a lovely fire is just the place to relax after a hard day enjoying oneself, whatever your age! Hotel Kultahovi is a very very special place to stay, our second time here and hopefully not the last. Thank you Kaisu and Heikki for some wonderful memories.

Note there are no double beds at all in the hotel! The hotel is old but nice, on the river so nice view from the rooms and at breakfast. Breakfast was nice. One of the receptionists was very nice. The others - less...

If you come to fish the famous brown trout river Juutua, then this is where you wanna stay. Staff knows what they are doing and the main building is really pleasant to stay. Can't recommend the sauna at the riverside.

Yelp
The hotel itself has a super friendly staff, excellent cozy fire by the bar area and a nice restaurant with local cuisine with a modern flare. If you're seeking reindeer, we saw several heards on our drive here. In the late evening once the skies cleared, we also saw Aurora Borealis lights towards the north out of town. This is a small town, not much to do after 5pm, but eat and drink, however this hotel has a lot of activities, expensive but I'm sure they are unique. We did not pay for the Aurora tour, instead we drove ourselves using two websites to track the weather so I recommend you do that on your own. You can see the Lights from the hotel grounds if the Kp level is high enough and the skies are clear. Clouds are constantly moving so its about timing it correctly. Hotel rooms for a double bed are a bit small but the beds are comfortable. Hotel rooms for a twin double are a bit more spacious it seems. They can unlock the door inbetween rooms to allow families more space between rooms. Showers and bathroom facilities are clean and a decent size. Staff is incredibly friendly and speak various languages. I am super impressed and very happy with this place. If you're worried about slipping on ice, I recommend buying the 8€ ice spike slip covers for your feet at the local KMarket in town. Worked perfectly!!! Other than that, we will stay here again and recommend it, despite the thin walls between floors...you can hear people walking around.
