This is a really interesting Arts Centre and well worth a visit for the informative and well laid out exhibition of Laos traditional clothing. The Centre has an excellent shop where you can purchase at good prices, traditionally made crafts. One point of notice, the road leading to the centre is steep and unpaved so care should be taken when on foot.

The best surprise and the best museum so far. Although a small cultural center and museum, it’s very informative. The exhibition content is very well written and well translated into English too. Recommend spending some time watching the video about the Maxmara case- very inspiring and educative to learn about the cultural IP issue.

Interesting place located in post colonial building. Provides essential information about different ethnic groups living in Laos. Interesting exhibition of traditional clothing. Entrance ticket costs 35k LAK. You need to leave your bag/backpack before entering (for free)

It's a small museum but you can still learn some things about the ethnic peoples of Laos. There is a tour on Friday at 3pm, but you still have to pay entry. Honestly you can learn everything from the plaques on the walls, the tour isn't necessary. Would love to see the centre move to a bigger location, was underwelming for me to be honest. I did learn some things though so I appreciate that.

Very interesting if you’re into traditional fashion, shows how clothing and purses etc are made, and shows the impact that the fashion industry has on Lao indigenous using there designs.

Excellent small museum doing important work to preserve heritage, craft & culture. Really interesting and thought provoking exhibits. Amazing to see how the center is working with local communities to protect their knowledge and that these resources they are developing are available for other similar communities around the world to use. Highly recommend, one of my favorite things I did during my time in Luang Prabang!

Very well thought out museum. Small but with good information on the ethnic groups in Laos. Joined the free tour that runs every Tuesday and Friday at 3pm. Detailed explanation by Ton the manager who gave us small insights into the lives of the ethnic groups. The display in the exhibition hall changes every 2 years. Currently it houses a display about how some international designers and brands misappropriate traditional cultural and ethnic clothes and wear around the world with their designs without consulting these minority groups and what actions were taken to counter them. After the exhibits, there is a lovely shop where you can purchase items made by the ethnic groups. There is also a cafe at the back with an activity center where you can dress up in traditional wear and take photos, do some loom or weaving activity free of charge. Tickets cost 35,000 kip. Lao citizens and children aged 12 and below enter free. Excellent rainy day activity.

Small but so good. This little cute museum shows an abundance collection from various ethnic group in Laos. The building itself is very unique as it was an historical building used by the french judge during the colonial era. Ticket to enter are 35k LKP, so cheap compared to their effort to preserve the collection and detailed-out all the information needed. An eye opening as an indonesian who also have so many ethnics and local people. Love it 🇱🇦🇮🇩 P.s: beware of the barking wild dogs in the house in front of the museum, although its owned by the house owner, he is pretty aggressive and will chase you if there is no owner there 😀😆
