What a lovely dinner! The sleigh ride there and back was magical. Angel was the perfect server, and we very much appreciated his recommendations. Highly recommend this experience!

Food was mediocre for what you are paying for. Sleigh ride was nice but for 320$ a person you think you wouldn’t be charged for the hot chocolate before the ride. The carolers were great and fun. We did not get offered anything else to drink but water. The mushroom soup and bread was not good. We got the beef short ribs and steak medallions and it seemed like they were trying too hard to make unique flavors but it fell short. However the deserts were good.

Taking the sleigh out in the winter is a fun memorable evening if a little spendy. Sleigh rides vary by the night and time but they can be very enjoyable. The food is much better than it was seven, eight years ago. Trout was good. The opening Butternut Soup was was the table wide favorite. The beet and apple salad is a fun adventure. The Date Cake is fun and pairs well with the crackling fire.

We kind of had a Hemmiingway themed wedding, wed at his memorial, stayed in the Hemingway room at the lodge, my wedding dress was a dress that belonged to a friend of Hemingway, so of course our reception was at the Trail Creek Cabin, since he hung out there too. All this was quite by accident, it’s just that Hemingway has such great taste in locations. What a perfect place to have our Wedding Reception, completely unforgettable!!!

Picturesque location for weddings and events. The grounds are immaculate and so many options for use of the property. Highly recommend!

As a wedding photographer this is my absolute favorite venue!! You can not go wrong with the beautiful location and view no matter the time of year.

Participated in the Christmas Eve Sleigh ride this year for the second time. Was disappointed to find they changed the menu to a buffet option-- not as elegant and would prefer to order from a limited menu. However-- the sleigh ride was nothing short of magical and every staff person from check in, sleigh leader to service was impeccable. Thank you for making our holiday extra special.

Yelp
Special event for outdoor BBQ dinner with live music. Beautiful setting outdoors and great buffet BBQ with bar and delicious dessert bar. It's free so hard to complain about anything at all. Gets cold at dusk (July) but otherwise, pretty perfect.

Yelp
Trail Creek Cabin is offering a BBQ buffet dinners on Wednesdays only for the first time this summer. We attended last night; its from 530-830pm and the outside setting along the creek was majestic. making all of us comfortable, the staff wore masks, open bar, live music and the buffet was served by the staff as the guest request. The menu included: BBQ ribs, chicken, salmon, coleslaw, bread, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, salad, and desserts. It was well done and the food was tasty full of flavor and just amazing. Go and enjoy!

Yelp
This place is truly magical. I have been coming here for years. The food and ambience are great. Last night, my daughter and I were not feeling very well, and Marina (the manager) went above and beyond any manager or person of service I have encountered. We had a server who was not having the best day, and I let Marina know. Despite her youth, she acted in the utmost mature manner. She personally packed up our food and gave us a ride back to our car which was at the Sun Valley Inn. We had taken the sleigh ride there which is beautiful and totally worth it, but since we weren't feeling well she drove us in her own car when the restaurant was very busy--sold out in fact--probably the kindest customer service I have ever had! That said, the food, ambience and experience were just spectacular, and a must see when you visit Sun Valley! Highly recommend!

Yelp
An adorable cabin tucked away in the woods. We had no idea that this was Ernest Hemingway's personal hunting cabin turned fancy-schmancy restaurant. *Queue English teacher nerd out* There is a fixed price for dinner (expensive) and you get four courses. 1st course: gratin. Your server comes to your table with a cast-iron skillet with gratin (I had to google it-- it's delicious, melted cheese) a flame to melt the cheese, potatoes, cauliflower, bread and two kinds of butter. You might feel kind of full after this course. Must power through. 2nd course: soup or salad. I opted for the cabin salad with ranch. It's the perfect size and was the fanciest house salad I ever had. Hello curly-cut carrots! 3rd course: the entree. I ordered the root vegetable shepherd's pie. Delicious. It was topped with sweet potatoes (YES!) and asparagus. Asparagus weren't exactly cooked. Maybe they were just a garnish? Still enjoyed it. 4th course: you'll want to tap out at this point, but you must prevail. Sweet treats await you. I finished off my meal with three small pastries. The fruit tart and chocolate bar were . Don't know if we'll return, as the price was $$$$, but was happy to have experienced eating at Ernest Hemingway's hunting cabin.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Sun Valley. We love the rustic-yet-elegant historic cabin setting: so romantic! The food is classic and delicious. The service is attentive but never rushed. Every time we dine here, I almost expect Papa Hemingway to come striding through the door. I especially love sitting near the fireplace, on a snowy night, having arrived via sleigh from the Sun Valley Lodge.

Yelp
Trail Creek cabin has a rustic and elegant atmosphere. We had a lovely table for 2 by the fireplace. It is really fun. The food was amazing and plentiful. Our server Andrew was attentive and low key. It can be romantic or fun for families.

Yelp
What a beautiful night!.... I loved the warm cheese gratin to start... the butternut salad with goat cheese was delicious. The atmosphere is gorgeous and coming by the horse sleigh is like dreamy. What a wonderful night!

Yelp
We are locals and love the ambiance and history of Trail Creek Cabin. We have dined here for over 25 years and have come to realize you will have a great experience most of the time and every once in a while, there will be a train wreck. Unfortunately, the latest train wreck occurred while some of our family was visiting. We have experienced three great meals this summer (good food, good service, etc.) but the train finally went off the tracks again. We will continue to return to Trail Creek Cabin as we do love it but we do so knowing full well there is more than a 20% chance of another bad experience.

Yelp
The ambiance is wonderful, but the food just ok. We are here for the sleigh ride season, and really enjoyed the horses and cowboys. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful, and it was really enjoyable talking to her. However the food was just okay. But I ordered a drink that arrived in a glass boot, and pretty soon didn't care about the quality of the food so much.

Yelp
We are visiting family in Sun Valley and on Christmas Day Night we took the sleigh to the Trail Creek Cabin. There was 14 in our party and we mostly took up one sleigh. The ride was magical. It made me feel like I was in a Christmas special. The snow covered trees and the friendly sleigh drivers made for a wonderful ride. The wait staff at the Cabin were terrific and the food was great. A perfect end to Christmas Day.

Yelp
I was super disappointed with Trail Creek Cabin! While the setting is nice, there was very little love / inspiration in the food & service. There was no side vegetable served with the trout. The wine selection was just "meh" as well.

Yelp
Have eaten here a few times. Food has always been good, but this year ate there New Years Eve and it was fantastic. I had the lamb shank and it was fall off the bone tender and not too dry. Add to it all the cabin ambiance (crackling fire, natural log interior, log furniture etc...), plus the sleigh ride out there and it was the perfect winter experience, really made you feel like you were living in the Sun Valley of old!

Yelp
We'd asked around before keeping our reservation, since we suspected this would be a place that relies on its atmosphere and doesn't deliver on anything else. We did get some warnings to that effect, but enough responses along the line of, "Oh, you should definitely try it while you're in town" that we went through with it. Turned out to be our one bad choice while in Ketchum. Servers really, really push you to do the prix fixe at $75 a head: Individual menu items are absurdly overpriced, such as the $38 trout entree. The trout was line-caught, but evidently not recently- not remotely fresh, it came smothered in a sweet orange sauce with overcooked, slimy greens. We both ate only a few bites. The server, nice but nervous, didn't even ask if it was off. In addition, the raclette appetizer was bland, cocktails were sad, and the dessert tray had one tasty (passion fruit) item among three others that tasted out of a box. We did have a nice view of Baldy, and the original part of the cabin (where we were not seated) is cozy. A restaurant to skip.

Yelp
Very good, but not excellent food. However, the view and ambience were spectacular. The wait staff were very efficient and attentive. We liked it so much we went back a second night.

Yelp
Wow! What a beautiful setting. Inside and out. We have dined there 3 times over the past 2 weeks. Food is great. Service is very good. Calamari dish was so good to start. White Trout entree was tasty. . my husband enjoyed his Meatloaf. We definitely will come again!

Yelp
We visited the Trail Creek Cabin because of the great reviews from others. The restaurant is at the based of mountains so the setting is beautiful and perfect. The staff friendly and attentive. Good selection of both wine and food. The doors were open so the outdoors could be enjoyed however, with that there were many flies and hornets in the window by the table we were seated. The salad, soup and dessert were great but the salmon done on cedar plank was dry. Perhaps a different entrée would have been better.
