I found this hotel absolutely wonderful. The location is perfect—just over 10 minutes’ walk from the Casino, but up on the hill so it’s quiet and away from the noise. There’s also a bus that stops literally at the front door if you don’t feel like walking. The rooms are just right for a 3-star hotel, with very comfortable beds. We did miss having air conditioning since it was a very hot week, but that’s quite normal in Switzerland—private homes and even many public places (like the airport) don’t have it. Luckily, the large windows let in plenty of fresh air at night, so sleeping wasn’t a problem. Great bathroom and powerful shower. Breakfast was excellent and varied. But what really makes this place special is the kindness and hospitality of the staff. Thank you, Paolo and team—you made us feel at home and always went above and beyond, surprising us with thoughtful touches. All in all, a wonderful hotel in a wonderful location, with unbeatable value for money. Highly recommended!

I absolutely loved this charming hotel located on top of a hill in old town Montreaux. Alix checked me in and thoroughly explained everything. He offered me a welcome drink which Erika served me later after I settled in. The bed was very comfortable. Room was perfect for what I needed. This hotel is decorated very arty and nice with lots of pictures of musicians and Montreaux jazz festival. Thank you Erika for opening my bottle of wine for me that I brought both nights that I stayed. Excellent value, great location and friendly helpful staff.

On arrival we could park our car next to the hotel. The welcome of the staff was very friendly. Immediately the staff looked to reserve a parking space just next to the hotel. Perfect.|We were in Montreux for the jazz festival and the hotel immediately put us in the mood. In our room a beautiful picture of Deep Purple. In the bar some soft Jazz music.|The room is simple but immaculate. A closet is missing, but there is enough space for your suitcase.|Breakfast offers everything necessary. Cheese, jam, chocolate, ham, eggs, bacon, bread, croissants, yogurt... coffee, tea, fruit juices.||The hotel is located on a steep slope and it is a brisk walk from the lake but in the bar there is the possibility to enjoy a cool beer.||Hotel Tralala is ideal for those looking for a place to land quietly after the concerts during the busy festival.

Hotel is very cute and room had lovely view of the nearby shops. No wardrobe or closet which was fine for us. Window shade in bathroom a bit moldy. Staff was super and quite helpful. Bar was well appreciated, and the food was excellent-quality was very nice. Skipped breakfast as the eggs and bacon were cold-seemed like the warming pot hadn’t been turned on. Would absolutely stay there again based on coziness of hotel and positive vibe of staff.

Stayed here with my kids for 4 nights over a long weekend, and was relatively disappointed with the room (dirty/dusty under the furniture) and extra bed that was provided (basically like sleeping on wooden planks). The bathroom floor was also very damaged with wood pieces splintering off, which was dangerous for my young kids. The "view" from our superior double was a sliver of the lake. For the moderate price, I would have expected a clean and well kept establishment. The breakfast was decent, as was the location in the old city. We unfortunately ate dinner in the restaurant one night, but have had better food on an airplane. I wanted to like this place, but it is unlikely that we will return, nor recommend it to others.

We selected this hotel as we thought it would be ideally positioned to visit the Jazz Festival and it turned out to be exactly that, it’s far enough away so that it’s not noisy or too busy, but close enough to walk there easily – downhill :-) It’s also well positioned for the Cog Railway (2 minute walk) which is a worthwhile experience and the 206 bus stop is literally outside the front door of the hotel which makes it very easy to travel on the excellent and regular bus service – especially going back to the hotel which is uphill from Montreux centre! The staff were excellent and friendly, the breakfast was good and there is food available in the evenings, albeit quite limited. The room was OK and consistent with the 3 Star rating, but the Housekeeping was a bit “hit and miss” as items and towels were not always replenished. Unfortunately there was a problem with the drains during our stay in the main part of the hotel – hopefully this was an isolated incident. The main issue for us was a group of people that congregated outside the hotel in the evenings, laughing, talking very loudly and occasionally shouting and this disturbed our sleep every night….even up until 06.00 on occasions. Clearly this isn’t the responsibility of the hotel, but I think they need to involve the police to disperse these people. Hopefully this is not so much of an issue for people on the other side of the hotel near the bus stop.

Nice idea to make musician rooms. Unfortunately, the service was not good. Lost 3 hours of vacation on arrival date, because it was not possible to fix the room safe. All the staff involved could not speak English! After that, there were no apologies at all. Additionaly, some alarm was active all the night long. No technician to fix it was available. Unbelievable.

Our check-in experience was extremely disappointing. The male staff member who handled our check-in failed to inform us of key guest benefits that should have been included with our stay. He did not mention the Montreux Riviera Card, even though he clearly remembered to charge the city tax on the spot. According to official guidelines, this card should be provided to all guests paying the city tax. In addition, our Booking.com reservation clearly stated that each guest would receive a CHF 5 dining discount, but this was also not mentioned at all. I only found out about these benefits after doing my own research, and had to go to the front desk twice to inquire and follow up. When I raised the issue, the response I received was that “different platforms offer different benefits.” Does the hotel not know which platform the guest booked through at check-in? They are quick to charge the correct amount, but apparently need the guest to ask repeatedly in order to receive what is rightfully included. Although the female staff member who later handled the Montreux Riviera Card provided an explanation, the overall experience was unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Yelp
A unique themed hotel, paying homage to the Montreux Jazz Festival, featuring huge portraits of music stars. The interior design enhances the artistic, musical flair of the hotel. Close to the train station and 8 minutes to the lake.
