Tranquility Bay Beachfront Resort

"Why book? It’s all about the location (in the heart of Marathon) and the setting (beachfront, a rarity in the Keys). Set the scene Take the conveniences of a hotel and blend them with the privacy and space of an Airbnb, and you’ll get a taste of Tranquility Bay. Guest rooms are nestled within houses, making it feel like you’re staying in your own beach home rather than a hotel (and help you avoid that awkward small talk in the hallway). The rooms Everything, from the curvy white wooden headboards and wicker furnishings to the bright Adirondack chairs on the porch, screams beach house here. It’s mood-lifting, even if some of the rooms could use a little updating. Food and drink TJ’s Tiki Bar is the go-to spot for lunch and cocktails, especially at sunset, while the Butterfly Café is for dinner only. There are also a wide variety of off-site restaurants within walking or driving distance. For families: Three pools and on-site activities make this a natural choice for families with older kids. Anything left to mention? The Turtle Hospital is under five minutes away and worth visiting even if you don’t have kids with you." - Nancy DePalma

The entire hotel estate comprises the 'villa' style seen in the photos. It's very attractive and surprisingly quiet considering it's by a road. Everything is nicely appointed. We had a 2 bed 'villa' with a good size kitchen, sitting area and upstairs with a master bedroom, twin bed room and 2 bathrooms.|Kitchen - oven, hob, microwave, toaster, lots of crockery, utensils and pans.|Bed - comfortable and clean, plus there's a washing machine and dryer|Bathrooms - exceptionally small 'baths' (little more than a shower stall really, only a bath for a 6 year old child), but didn't matter at all.||The small beach area and views are utterly magnificent and utterly unforgettable (meaning taking endless photos of sunsets and the water!). Loungers and towels are provided (though the loungers are just mesh and actually extremely uncomfortable). Really easy to just walk out the back door and you're pretty much on the beach! There are 3 pools, one main one for children and 2 very small ones but we didn't use any. There's a 'tiki bar' by the beach serving drinks and guests tend to mill about here during sunset. There's beach volleyball and onsite watersports you can hire from (we didn't). There's also an extremely small gym (which we didn't use) with about 3 pieces of cardio equipment and 3 or 4 weights machines.||Overall we really liked the resort. There were a few issues regarding service - it seems very much a 'do it yourself' type of place (which is fine by us), but there was no washing up cloth, or dishwasher powder and the electricity failed in the master bedroom - all of which took them nearly 16 hours to fix and follow up reminders by us. Plus the wardrobe drawers didn't work However, they were fully booked and they were minor frustrations in what was otherwise a fantastic stay.||For anyone who might find it helpful, the hotel is really close to the start of the Seven Mile Bridge and it's about a 1 hour drive to reach Key West from there.

We are a French family and our experience at Tranquility Bay was simply fantastic — something we’ll remember for the rest of our lives. Everything was nearly perfect. Our villa with an ocean view was exceptional: spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and equipped with every comfort. The beds were huge and incredibly comfortable — a big plus for me as I often have back issues and tend to be quite sensitive when it comes to bedding. We loved everything from the pools to the beach to the bar — the whole resort felt like paradise. And finally, a big thank you to the staff, who were all friendly and helpful. A special mention to William for the warm welcome and assistance! Highly recommended — we can’t wait to come back :)

I went with my family the first week of August. We stayed from Monday to Friday to avoid crowds which worked out great to have enough space to swim at the pool and beach. The rooms were very nice and clean although the shower was dated but worked fine. Be prepared to add $60 every day for the resort fee on top of what you already paid. Looks like this is common practice, but deceiving in my opinion as it should be part of the upfront cost.

Google
We have come here three times and love it! Wonderful for family vacation. The pool is beautiful and keeps the kids entertained. I love that they have two restaurants on site. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Plenty to do if you want to venture out too. Next door to the Sea Turtle hospital.

Tranquility Bay was so beautiful. The villa we stayed in was perfect. The grounds were captivating and something out of a picture book. ||The bed in the Master bedroom was so comfortable and the sheets and pillows were so soft. The view from our room was breathtaking. The other rooms were nice. The couch in the living room was a pullout couch, but ours was old and did not work. I think if that was updated to a more comfortable functional pull out the sleeping arrangements would’ve been a little bit better since we traveled with our adult children. The twin beds in the one room we’re just a little bit small for two adult children.||Everyone at the resort was always trying to make sure we were taken care of and had everything we needed. If we didn’t have something we could text and they would bring it over asap. Super great service! Definitely would stay there again!

Google
Awesome place to stay! Very well maintained and clean. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful! We absolutely loved the resorts private beach. Location of the resort is also perfect. There so many different things you can do all within a 5-25 minute drive. Our room was very spacious and clean. I’d highly recommend booking with Tranquility Bay Resort if your staying in Marathon!

Google
Pros: Waterfront location was awesome and outdoor porch spaces great! Staff was friendly, although didn’t encounter many. Pool was great for kids. Easy to get around resort. Full size kitchen was nice to have. ||Cons: No electrical outlets in 2nd bedroom was an inconvenience. Biggest issue was the massive number of mosquitos in the grassy areas. Please spray these areas!

Google
Place is really nice. Some wonderful views! Clean, mostly modern and well furnished with a complete kitchen for cooking meals. Washer and drier in each unit. If I had any complaint, it would be the TV situation. No smart TVs. Regular basic cable is all that is available and the displayed picture only fills about 70ish% of the screen of already relatively small TVs to begin with. Not a deal breaker, as you're not really here for TV but also not what you'd expect for a luxury resort.

Yelp
This is a fabulous Resort located just before the 7 Mile Bridge in Marathon, on the bay side. 3 swimming pools. 3 putting greens. An awesome tiki bar. And Marathon's finest restaurant, The Butterfly, where I really enjoyed a variety of fish during my stay. The unit I stayed in was 2 levels. Sleeping quarters upstairs, complete with an outdoor patio. And very spacious living room, dining room, and full size kitchen. The downstairs patio was very nice as well. With views of both the main pool, as well as the bay, where jet skis, kayaks, and paddle boards are available for rent. All of the staff members were very friendly and professional, and always spoke when passing. The name Tranquility Bay couldn't be more appropriate.

Yelp
We enjoyed our time here but the resort was a mixed bag. It seems that many of the rooms are privately owned so some sort of rental through the resort- this means that decor or standard of renovation between rooms can be very different. The first room we were in was really awful, old, smelly, musty, lots of paint and carpet damage. Second room was better but still not great given the prices. Resort main pool is very nice. The beach bar is also good: the waterfront area again is a bit misleading, pictures vs reality was different. Many items were not available, and all needed extra payment. Edges of the waterfront area felt is disrepair, and the berm at water edge needs replacing. Seaweed all over rocks and beach but think that is local phenomenon. Bikes were available but we could only get 3 for the 4 of us and one of them was basically unusable. In summary the pool area was beautiful and it seems some of the large villas are very nice, but many other areas need a refresh.

Yelp
We stayed here for a couple of days doing a long weekend in the keys. This is a nice spot for families. The pool is great. Villas are perfect for families. The multi-level decks are great for relaxing. They have 2 restaurants on site, one casual and another a bit more formal. The fitness center is tight but there is plenty to get a good work out in. It is quiet at night which is a huge plus, this is not a party spot! We will consider staying here again.

Yelp
This resort was amazing to stay at. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom townhouse on the resort, which included a full kitchen, living room, and a deck on each level. The resort itself has 3 pools (one adult only pool), beachfront, tiki bar on the beach, and beach chairs all over. We had drinks and ate one night at the tiki bar and the staff were amazing and fun!! We used the pools and they were clean with the best temperature to swim in. We also spent time just sitting on the beach and enjoying the sun and views.

Yelp
I give it a 5 because every morning we could walk out our back door to a tropical paradise. The main pool rivals anything I've seen in the Caribbean, but we are still in the U.S.! No lodging is perfect but they went all out to address any concerns we had and I cannot recommend this place enough. What sunsets

Shelia G.

Yelp
Great stay! Grounds are beautiful and sunsets on the jetty were our favs (with Painkillers from the tiki bar in hand:). 2nd time staying here over the years and we will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Great Tiki Bar service from "Iowa Steve". We dropped in for a pre-dinner drink. Didn't want to hang out long as it was one of those chilly windy days. Will revisit and stay longer for sunset time!

Stephanie W.

Yelp
This place is a dump! Don't be fooled by pics! It is a hotel not a resort. Horrible hospitality and dull and boring! My son was told to stop fishing the first night we got there because he caught a big shark! We spent a week there and left a day early it was like a prison camp! No fun at all! Be careful of this place! I will resort back to Sunset key cottages in key west! check it out! Great people and they let you have a great time! This was a complete torcher vacation! stay away!!
google avatar

Amie B.

Yelp
We asked to use one of the chairs from the bar area (of which they have plenty) in our room for someone in our party who recently had back surgery. And they said no. That's really all you need to know.

Yelp
We spent 4 nights here in the 3-bedroom beachfront villa. It was truly an amazing stay! The villa itself was beautiful! Super clean, spacious, and very comfortable! the porches were probably our favorite part. The pools were spectacular, the swim beach perfect. We also enjoyed the Tiki Bar and Butterfly Cafe, despite being very overpriced. Biggest complaints : housekeeping is spotty and skipped us entirely one day, my son witnessed a pretty large cockroach fall out of the couch, and all three toilets had their moments of not flushing/running water/not filling. The jet ski and pontoon guy is pretty rude. For the price, I really wanted zero complaints! We're not high maintenance or entitled, so I can't imagine other potential reviews of our experience! Worth it though, highly recommend for a family FL Keys vacay!

Yelp
Resort is beautiful but staff experience has been poor across the board. The bartenders at TJs are unfriendly and very slow (looking at you Steve and Ben) and the entire staff just seemed not to care about the customer experience. Coming from a true five star resort (Cheeca Lodge in Islamorada), this place leaves a lot to be desired, but it's not at all clear that the staff or management care.
google avatar

Jill P.

Yelp
When you book your trip, the resort will not tell you about the fees. They mention the fees in the confirmation letter but don't explain that they are in addition to the quoted price. And by the time the confirmation letter is sent, they've already charged your card. When I arrived to check in, a guest was complaining about the daily resort fee ($45). I asked about the fee and the front desk clerk told me it was included in my rate, not to worry. Well, the last day of my stay I got the bill and it was there. $90 I was not expecting. I tried to talk to the front desk clerk but she was defensive and argumentative and I did not want to have that conversation. So I left and decided to call back later. Hotel also charged me for three nights instead of two. I've called back twice but the staff is rude and talk to me as if I'm a child who is confused. I've got a business/accounting degree from a major university. I understand accounting. At this point, I'll have to contact the Attorney General's office to get the bill corrected I suppose. While I was lounging by the pool, the hotel staff was changing out all of the chairs and umbrellas by the pool. It was very disruptive. I don't understand why this wasn't done at night when the pool was closed. A gate was also being repaired which meant power tools were used and they made a lot of noise. Not the quiet retreat I was hoping for. The resort is beautiful. The three pools are lovely and the cove with ocean access is amazing. The room was average. The drinks were pricey ($18 for a pina colada) and the food was average at best.

Yelp
There's a reason it's called tranquility! I stayed here for nearly a week and had the nicest time! There was a big group of us who got multiple condos for the week. The lagoon area was my favorite spot where you could snorkel or lay on the beach reading a book. The pools were also great! The property had a bunch of iguanas and had some good laughs about where they would pop out of. If you're looking for a place that has it all, Tranquility Bay is meant for you!

Yelp
I'll be generous and give three stars. There were too many problems with the staff here in this vacation to warrant more stars. Cons: The biggest annoyance was that my wife called ahead to ask if they had cribs for a baby to sleep. The confirmed they did. Once we got there and checked-in, all they had was a play-pen with a really hard bottom. It would be like having your baby sleep on a piece of wood almost. There was no mattress pad in the playpen. The front desk staff wasn't being helpful. After pushing them for a solution, they finally said they work with a company who provides crib rentals that would charge us! CRAZY! It was supposed to be free. They agreed to knock off some resort fees for us, after we complained more, which helped offset some of the rental costs. Although when we checked out they still tried to sneak in the resort fees but we told them they had agreed to remove them. Also we asked to speak to a manager and they said they have no way of contacting a manager. I have never been to a hotel before where the manager was inaccessible to the staff. We also booked this hotel because they claimed to have heated pools. They do (sort of), but they don't turn them on unless you give the front desk staff a hard time about the pool being cold. We weren't the only ones who were annoyed. So many guests were in and around the pool in the morning wondering why the water was so cold. When we asked the guy at the front desk he seemingly knew nothing about the pools and said maintenance would have to turn the heat on. It took almost an entire day for them to turn the heat on and for the pool to warm up! And even when it does finally "warm-up", it's still pretty chilly. I think they are nickel and dining guests by saving money on energy costs. If that's the case, they shouldn't advertise having heated pools. And the adult pool was never heated when we were here for all three days. Hostess at Butterfly Cafe is very rude. Oh and we saw cockroaches twice in the Tiki Bar where food is served. A staff member apologized and said they had just been working on that problem the day before. Pros: The grounds and views are beautiful. The rooms are nice. Food at the restaurants are very good, although a little overpriced. Wait staff at the Butterfly Cafe is great!

Becky L.

Yelp
Really want to love it here, pools are beautiful but they are cold! "They only get 10 degrees warmer than the outside temperature" the front desk just explained. Today is 62 degrees out and sunny but the pool is only 72 degrees. Not a single person is in any of the pools. Such a shame to pay to stay somewhere so nice but can't enjoy one of the main reasons to stay here. Please improve your heating systems and cater to your guests.

Yelp
Depends on what you go in expecting. I would say for most people who live outside of Florida, you may be OK. Foe those of us who live in a nice area of Florida, your experience may be different. Staff worked with us on an issue with our reservation. Very helpful and resolved issue quickly.

Yelp
Beautiful place, if you stay make sure to wake up early morning sunrise is amazing I also was walking along the beach at night such a peaceful and beautiful place.
google avatar

Yelp
The "TJs Tiki bar" was our destination. You don't have to be a resident, and this is truly worthwhile lunch spot. Beach comfort of the best. A full service bar and lunch under the straw or umbrella nicely separated by pool and sand from main building
google avatar

Brian O.

Yelp
If you have a family, avoid this place. The resort was in pretty good shape (circa 2003). However, the assistant manager Bob told our kids, aged 3-17. That they were too loud in the pool... at 6:45pm. When we calmly asked what the real problem was, he immediately called the cops. I've never had the cops called on me for anything in my life. I am not sure what Bob's problem was but when I spoke to others at the resort they were afraid to stand up to "Bob". On top of that, the beach stunk of sea grass. After two days, it went away but I would be weary about spending $600/night when you good time is determined by the direction of the wind. Don't take kids because the wind could be bad and so could Bob. Good luck.

Yelp
This was such an amazing resort . They offer free parking. They also have a private beach. They give you a free 1hour Kayak rental per day per person to us at the water sports. They have 3 swimming pools and a tiki bar. The standard rooms have patio/ balconies. A shower and a tub which is separate in the bathroom. They also have microwaves and refrigerators. They offer mini golf and have lots of beach games to play. They also offer resident discount on the website . I definitely recommend this place and will be back next time I am a marathon it was a very nice resort. It was also nice to see the the staff wearing mask.

Yelp
Bugs upon arrival... lots of bugs ...called desk ... barely sprayed ... dirty ... kitchen floors ... bathroom... broken glass at entry... finally cleaned up the day before we left... I get that insects are indigenous to your area but seriously, bugs kept getting in suitcases and in my clothes...even when kept closed ... kitchen countertop covered with bugs one morning... called office, no one came.... Lights in master bedroom didn't work... furniture stained and uncomfortable...
google avatar

Audrey J.

Yelp
This is a beautiful property with extremely kind and helpful staff. Unfortunately, there were bugs and roaches in the kitchen. Bedsheets and towels are rough, making for an uncomfortable stay. On top of that, the owners had recently visited their unit and installed a new TV. Unfortunately the new remote was missing and we didn't have TV in the main area until our last night. Marathon has a few restaurants, but is nothing like Key west. Instead, the island has a local fisherman vibe. There is a lot to do during the day, (snorkeling, fishing, etc...) but at night make sure to have a plan for food as there are only a few restaurants near by, otherwise you may be eating fast food, because your kitchen has bugs and you don't want to eat anything you left out on the counters. The beach and pool are exactly as they look online.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
It's ironic that the name is tranquility because that is the only thing that was lacking was some tranquility. I can honestly say that the only redeeming quality of this property is the view. We went to eat at the restaurant attached to the "resort" and were told there was a corking fee and thus brought two bottles with us. When we arrived they changed their minds and said they don't have a liquor license that would allow hard alcohol even though they were serving hard alcohol at the bar. They came to us three times to complain and on the third try they enlisted 3rd grade rules and asked us for our bottles of alcohol and because THEY didn't trust US they would hold on to them at the bar. At this point I had had enough and went over to speak with what seemed like a group of confused teenagers who were the staff and managers. The truth is that they had apologized for there untactful rudeness and ridiculous handling of the situation we would have let it be but they instead got into a screaming match with us in the middle of the restaurant. Sufficed to say this place was unprofessional and the word "resort" should definitely be taken off the name. We arrived and the house was Sandy and no one came to sweep, clean or provide new toiletries which ran out on the first day. I was writing this as I was checking out and lucky I was because they tried to charge me twice for the dinner upon check out. Do not recommend. It's a Long Island you can find tons of other options and for better value.

Jessica D.

Yelp
The property is absolutely beautiful and amazing. The units were fabulous! The pool was incredible. I gave a 2 rating because unfortunately all the staff we encountered in our 6 day stay except for 2 associates made us feel like we were an inconvenience in their day. For the rate you pay, you expect the customer service to also be elevated. Tranquility Bay you fell significantly short in this area. We tried the restaurants on property, food was okay but not worth the price paid. We were told the main restaurant required reservations, however checked with the restaurant directly and were told they are not required. Waited for the hostess to have a 5 minute conversation with management or a friend while we waited to be seated. Did not try any of the on site water sports because I was tired of pouring out money and getting treated with awful service. We took this business elsewhere where I spent significantly less and was treated beyond expectations. Beach provided breathtaking views at sunset!! If the customer service was there, I would have given this resort a 5 all the way.

Yelp
This was our first stay at Tranquility Bay and I would say that we'd come back if given the option. Everything from the grounds to the bar staff was top notch. Plus one of our favorite parts was the adult only pool. Tranquility really does feel like it's own oasis in the Keys.
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
We enjoyed our short babymoon getaway to the Keys at Tranquility Bay. Originally booked a regular room and were informed a few days before that we had been upgraded to a beach house at no cost. All we wanted was to relax and be by the water and we got just that at this resort. The beach house was not fancy, but met our needs and seemed like a nice place to bring kids to. The highlight was my prenatal massage with Marian - it was amazing. Knocked the review to 4 stars as the food and drinks at the resort were overpriced. They were good, but you can enjoy a better (and less expensive) meal/drink by driving to restaurants around the Keys. We recommend having a car as we used ours to drive to several restaurants during our stay.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing views. It truly is a tranquil place to stay. Our ada room was spacious and clean. My only complaint is they need to invest in a beach wheelchair for disabled guests and install ramps instead of the elevators. There's plenty of room for ramps. Also need to look at making the back deck accessible. He couldn't go out the back to the pool bc of steps. We did have a perk though, we needed an ada room and booked a 2bedroom unit. They assigned us too the most accessible unit which was remodeled and had am addition to have a room downstairs so we ended up with a3 bedroom and 3.5 bathroom unit. However, we had a free kayak rental for an hour each day. The beach was nice and clean and they tidied up each night. The tiki bar was a bit over priced but still pretty decent. It was pretty cool seeing the iguanas everywhere and they had outside cleaning to clean up their "messes". Check in and check out was easy. Also,I use booking to boom vacations and if you book at the right time and in advance enough you get a great deal. We had 5 nights for 2500. Great deal for the resort.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
From the outside it looks nice and the pool isn't bad but the beach is small and gross. The tiki bar is at the beach so if you want a drink it's a trip all the way down there. We checked in a hour after check in time and our room was not ready. When we got to the room we were missing two smoke/ carbon monoxide detectors. When asked about it they said the maintenance crew probably took them out. You have to have one with in 10 feet of each sleeping location. There was a sign in the room indicating house keeping would come once a day to take trash out and give new towels if needed. We had to call daily to get trash taken out. There were no extra trash bags, we ran out of toilet paper, and never once did housekeeping come to the room. Now, let me say I work in the service industry and understand the circumstances right now. All we were looking for was communication, if they were not going to make it to the room daily fine but please tell us and leave extra supplies.

Yelp
This place is truly AMAZING... The views are spectacular. We stayed 5 glorious nights. They offer free parking. They have a restaurant on the premises. I hear it's good food. They don't open for breakfast though. Because of the odd hours. We didn't get a chance to dine there. Our resort was waterfront views. With three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Two upstairs and one downstairs. This was our Anniversary Weekend and for our anniversary. The resort came with everything you would possibly need. Refrigerator, stove, appliances. Not that I came there to cook. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars because the carpet on the steps was in desperate need of cleaning. I am quite OCD about my feet hitting the floor without shoes and I definitely kept them on with the carpet being the way it was. Housekeeping could have been a little better. They forgot some things. The front desk was prompt on getting it for us though and anything that I requested they were on top of it. The resort came with a nice gym for workouts and plenty of pools and a private beach with a Tiki bar. This is a family resort. FYI so if you want something more secluded get a end room resort like we did and we only had one side of neighbors. Marathon is Beautiful and so much to do here and you can drive to key west which is about an hour away. Loved it!!
google avatar

Lori F.

Yelp
Checked in early and they had our room ready and let us in early. Friendly and accommodating staff from the cleaning crew to the servers and bar tenders. Nightly music at the tiki was a hit. Food was overpriced as were drinks but for the convenience of eating at the resort and on the water with the fabulous sunset...I paid the fees. Room is clean and has all I need but is nothing special. Could use more chairs at the pool and would love if it was open in the evening. All in all a great stay

Leigh ann M.

Yelp
Our family spent the week here over Christmas break and we couldn't have asked for anything more than this resort offered! The staff is so friendly and helpful. Two of them suggested two delicious spots for us to have lunch off site (Irie's and Herbie's), as well as connecting us with local charters for off shore fishing. I would highly suggest choosing a beach house that overlooks the putting greens, because you'll have gorgeous views of the lagoon and the ocean, and you're close to the pool and tiki bar while still feeling you have privacy. I wouldn't suggest the beach view houses...ours had the BEST view! (House #70) One of the things we LOVED doing was wading in the lagoon and looking for wildlife. We saw a baby octopus, several sand crabs, cowfish, rainbow fish, parrot fish, and a little manta ray swimming along the edges of the lagoon. Tranquility Bay has so many watersports to choose from right on site.: parasailing and jet skiing, kayaking and paddle boarding. So much to see and do here, you really don't need to leave! But if you do...check out Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters. We tried the snorkeling experience and it was so much fun swimming with the tropical fish and feeding the sharks underwater. If you decide to hit Key West, the marine views and the food at Conch Republic Restaurant can't be beat! (I'd pass on the Calaloo Dip). Lots to see in that area, too! Can't say enough about Tranquility Bay Resort! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Nice but needs updating. Things are wearing out. Stayed in #50, saw 1 cock Roach by dishwasher. Some Tiles are are broken. But nice pool, nice beach.

Yelp
Place absolutely sucks. Would not stay here again. So much seaweed. Rooms dirty, some don't have AC. Even the nonsmoking rooms are full of cigarette smoke. Unless ur renting a villa, I'd pass and try and find something a little more upscale.

Yelp
This resort looks great on paper but doesn't deliver in person. We enjoyed the views from our waterfront villa. But we were overall disappointed in the quality of the rooms and services. The furniture in the living room was old, stained and clearly hasn't been updated in years. The beds were uncomfortable, with absurdly hard, tall pillows. The kitchen has some supplies, but is not well stocked enough to comfortably cook for 6 people. Basic things like coffee filters were missing. The front desk never answers the phone! We called several times morning and night trying to get help with things and could never get through to a person. Overall, I would not recommend this place and would not return.

Yelp
Horrible save ur money. Horrible customer service, horrible "beach" that was unable to access due to all the sweet and grass. Construction workers and tractors going back and forth all day is not tranquil at all. Stayed in a two bedroom villa which shared a balcony with another villa we could see the naked couple in the room next to us the entire stay. Informed guest services and was told they were fully booked (they definitely were not) No privacy. No jacuzzi. Save ur time and money and just go to playa largo in key largo. This place is garbage.

Yelp
Although there were only 2 of us, we reserved a 2 bedroom beach-front beach house, and when we arrived, they upgraded us to a 3 bedroom, so the place was huge! Way more than we needed, but absolutely beautiful - full-sized kitchen, large living room, 3 good-sized bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. Everything was clean and bright and looked new. A family could live here very, very comfortably. The in-unit laundry was very handy. The view of the beach and the Gulf is stunning. The grounds are so pretty, and we really enjoyed the iguanas and curly-tailed lizards. Great sunset views from the house, the beach, the pier. 2 nice pools, including 1 for adults only, plus a swimming beach. The restaurant is nice but fancy/pricey. The Marathon area itself was underwhelming but we found a good restaurant off the property. This is a great place to come and just relax at the resort. We booked a snorkel trip, which was fun. They also have jet skis and kayaks to rent right at the resort. In summary, this is a great place to stay, and I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Enjoyed a great weekend away at this resort and will be back. We stayed in an ocean view villa with two bedrooms. Before checking in had cocktails by the water at their Tiki Bar. Villas are two floors with full kitchen and half bathroom on the first floor. The rooms are beautifully decorated with island/shell motifs. Bed was comfortable and we found everything to be clean. We spent a lot of time on the big balcony outside the master bedroom - great to enjoy a cup of coffee or read a book. I do recommend (as others have mentioned) that the carpet on the stairs is either replaced or removed. We had dinner at the Butterfly Cafe which was very good! Husband had the Jerk Chicken and I enjoyed the tuna. We ended the night with their TDF toffee smothered cake (O. M. G!!!) I could have bathed in that toffee sauce. Restaurant is small and quaint. Wait staff was so pleasant and treated us like family. Unfortunately they do not have a breakfast option anywhere in the resort. There are two pools - a large one with complimentary floating loungers for kids and adults. Other pool is adults only and great for quiet R&R. We had a great time, just in need of small updates. We will be back.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant with a fabulous ambience. I had the scallops risotto. They were absolutely perfect. I totally recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
So not worth it. This place is not 4.5 stars by any means. Used my credit cards points & they must of known that. We were placed on 2nd floor of hotel type room. Hair in the shower, stained floors and furniture. Beds were as flat as pancakes. Room was indeed spacious and air conditioning worked great. No security walking grounds. Daily at the pool intrusive loud music played by guests, local kids using the pool. I watched them cross A1A twice to go home. Tiles at pool were so filthy that people were carving their names into the grime. Gross. This place looks good on paper but surely not worth 275.00 per night.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful property, took the family for a summer vacation. Sean in reservations did a great job of taking care of us. We booked the three bedroom beach house. Great view, house keeping was basically non existent. We either had to hunt them down or call front desk. Restaurant was excellent albeit a bit pricey, but we are in the keys! The tiki bar was just OK, the drinks were fair and the food not so much. Our biggest complaint was lack of resort security, our beach days were ruined by loud, foul mouth young adults, playing loud music.

Yelp
Unfortunately this place needs to close, renovate, regroup, whatever and start over. It's a great location. Perfect for 7 mile bridge run. Beachfront 2 bedrooms are a perfect size but the price doesn't justify the property as a whole. Beach was nice and my kids didn't mind the gross water. Tiki bar was fun and food was edible but they don't stay open past dark. Are you having a good time sitting outside on your vacation at the tiki bar? Sorry...gottta go. Workers couldn't get out of there fast enough. The porch to our upstairs balcony was rotted and extremely unsafe. Termites around windows in second bedroom. You share a front porch with everyone. Pool has loud obnoxious guests or maybe they are not even guests. Please...turn it around.

Yelp
We booked the water view beach house. It's a 2 story town home with a large porch. Pretty cool. The bad: coffee in room (awful) mattress (not good) pillows (ugh) The good: amazing view, excellent tiki hut for end of day sunsets, nice pool, great area for the kids to swim and snorkel. We loved the area and although we may return the rough nights sleep will prompt us to book down the road. Yep, sleep matters.

Yelp
Just arrived at Tranquility and unfortunately I am disappointed. I was here four years ago with my husband and 3 kids and I remember us having a great experience then. This time around it was a completely different experience. The unit felt outdated, cramped and dirty. Floors appear dark and dirty, kitchen faucets are difficult to turn on/off, rounded door knobs vs easy open/close handles, upstairs bathroom floors grout are stained, dirt/dust on the bathroom countertop, noticeable rust stains on the shower rod, ripped beach umbrellas, and missing poolside tables. We quickly unpacked and went outside to the pool and beach. I glanced around trying to find a place to sit however there were no umbrellas available (at 5pm nevertheless). Not the end of the world but it would had been nice to have an umbrella when its 95 degrees out. After 20 mins sweating in the heat sitting with no umbrella we decided to sit by the pool with our drinks. However there were no side tables to even put our drinks on so I had to hold my drink the entire time as there were visible ants on the ground. Ughhhhh. The grounds outside look pretty but Tranquility needs to seriously consider updating the interior if they want to compete. I don't think we will return.

Yelp
This was such a wonderful place to stay on our vacation. We were in a water view villa which was amazing with a view of the ocean and overlooking the yard and putting area. The yard have the kids room to play and run. Gorgeous property close to fun restaurants, 7 Mile Bridge and Pigeon Island. The two bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs were small but you don't need more than that since you spend most of your time outside. Has washer and dryer, a back patio and balcony off the master. The AC works really well, kitchen has all the appliances, dishes you need. It is a beautiful property and while there are plenty of iguanas they won't really bother you unless you drop food. When we did have an issue with the sink they came to fix it within ten minutes. The food at the Tiki Bar was great with an amazing view of the water and sunset. My daughter loved the mango-strawberry smoothie. Angela and Miguel at the front desk were amazing and so helpful. All the staff really was great. The pool areas were lovely and I'm not sure how as the hotel was fully booked, but nothing was crowded. It didn't feel like it was full. Plenty of space and privacy. The only negatives: Tiki bar stops serving food at 8pm which was too early for us; the beach towels are not very good - while they dry they are really hard and not cozy at all. Overall this was the most relaxing vacation for our family of four (kids are 10 and 12) - exactly what we needed.

Yelp
My experience with tranquility bay was just ok. The homes were nice , clean, but overpriced. The beach had a very distinct smell that was very off putting. They make a very valiant effort to keep the sea grass/moss cleaned up each day. Some of the beds and pillows in the home are very hard and uncomfortable to sleep on but you can make it work. I will say that management is very accommodating and will try to make your stay better should you run into any issues. I'm ok with staying here again but it probably wouldn't be my first choice.

Yelp
Almost do not want to give a review for this place so people stay away from it. Was a perfect getaway for the wife and I. The beach houses are incredible and nice and spacious and being so close to the pool and the beach and just walk back and forth between them was wonderful especially since they have an adult only pool RELAXATION!!! And relaxing at the private beach cove was heaven as well. If you need a nice relaxing vacation this is the place to be.

Yelp
We loved everything From the great staff (Jazmyn, Otis, Bethany, Steve from Tiki and our outstanding waitress Roxanne) to the beautiful scenery and comfortable bedding! The guest rooms were huge! Very spacious, so clean & cold! I loved the hand soap as well. This is honestly one of the best resorts in the Keys and definitely the best in Marathon. I just left and i cannot wait to go back. The pools were clean! The beach was easily accessible and not overly crowded. We didn't see garbage anywhere, it was all in order. I truly appreciate the effort the staff puts into making Tranquility Bay perfect. Oh and by the way, the Butterfly Cafe is outstanding! The service, the food, the desserts and the atmosphere made it truly unforgettable. I will be coming back !!!!

Yelp
A great Resort with excellent accommodations. Because of its location, it is easily accessible to Key West. The grounds are very well kept. Housekeeping does an excellent job during their daily rounds. All of the staff is both friendly and accommodating. There is free Wi-Fi for those of us who actually work during vacation. There are actually two restaurants on site. However, neither of these restaurant serve breakfast. Because the accommodations come with a full kitchen you do have the option to shop at the local grocery store to purchase items for meals. The restaurant in the main lobby is pretty expensive and you probably would not want to dine there with children. However there is a tiki bar on the beach that sells more child friendly meals. The villas are very spacious with 2 bedrooms and 2 and 1/2 baths. There is also a sleeper aofa for additional guest. The full-size kitchen is great for family travel. There are plenty of supplies in the villa. Also guest services will provide you with additional items upon request. The pool and private beach area are steps away from your villa when you step out onto the patio. This resort is definitely worth another stay foe vacation.

Yelp
We have stayed in this resort twice. The rooms are Clean and have all you need in the kitchen. The pool area is beautiful however the overwhelming amount of iguanas can make it uncomfortable my daughter in law had a very difficult time with them.
