Tranquility Lodge

The location is excellent, the rooms are in top shape and very nicely furnished. It is great to have a little deck for each room, the staff is very friendly and going out of their way. |The breakfast on the deck is wonderful as you see amazing birds and butterflies come by. |We loved it. |The downstairs rooms can be noisy.

Well appointed rooms with lots of space and nicely decorated. Access to small pool and sun loungers. Close access to beach and walking areas. Right next door to Blue Rocks Cafe which serves excellent food and noise was not an issue at all. |Note: No air conditioning but quiet ceiling fan.

Lovely family who manage the property, perfect location, beautiful big rooms, really nicely decorated with a great kitchenette and beautiful big bathroom with a large walk in shower and bath. Lovely private front and back courtyard and great communal pool and braai area. Perfect beach location. Will be back

What a lovely surprise! We booked online and had no idea what we were in for. The lodge IS Tranquil, the staff are absolutely on the ball and very polite and willing to ensure your needs are met. The rooms are simple but comfortably furnished with both fans and air-con and a small bar fridge, fresh water was put in the room every day and tea/ coffee facilities were replenished. The absolute "berries for me" was as a coffee snob, I was able to go upstairs and help myself to the Nespresso machine in the kitchen! The breakfast table was a winner, very fresh food every morning and your own choice of a hot breakfast too. We made use of the braai in the pool garden and enjoyed sitting under the trees. The Natures Valley restaurant is right next door, and the path to the beach is steps away! And what a beach- lovely!! Highly recommend this establishment and will go back for sure!!! My only complaint (and this honest to God! if you sleep under the honeymoon suite, - please ask the guests to take off their hiking boots when they enter the room!) there was European family above us who clomped around for ages in what we imagined was their boots!!) at 10pm at night! Other than that - we love love love the place! Hats off to the lovely staff working there, you guys were great!!

This was a wonderful respite after the Otter trail. The crew were exceptionally accommodating. Rooms are beautifully decorated and very well designed. The included breakfast is delicious. It's the kind of place you want to spend more time at.

Location is perfect, for the beach and the only eating place in NV. Our room was comfortable and spacious, with a private sit out area, and right next to the pool. Excellent breakfast: lots of fresh fruit and local products and hot breakfast cooked to order. Staff were friendly and keen to please. We were only at the property about 19 hours, and power was off for 12. The remote location is understood and power outage is not the fault of the property, but they do really need an alternative power source. Couldn't even reach them by phone when it was urgent. A big thank you to manager Vernon who went above and beyond to get our passports (left in safe) to us in Cape Town within 24 hours.

I know Natures Valley from my primary school days and I have always wanted to stay at Tranquility Lodge. We finally did and we enjoyed every second. |The village had a power outage during our stay, Our hosts quickly had a backup generator going and we had power again. ||The Lodge has a perfect location, a hop and a skip to the beautiful 2km white sandy beach, most of the time you have this beach to yourself. It is close to Natures Valley’s only restaurant with wood-fired pizzas and a la carte menu. |Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed, it had everything we needed with our own deck where we could sit and listen to the Knysna Lourie’s in the trees. ||The breakfast was great, with freshly baked croissants and Danish pastries, lovely locally produced cheese, a great selection of continental breakfast with a choice of a hot breakfast with beautifully poached eggs or whatever you fancy. ||I can definitely recommend staying here and doing the Salt River Hike. We will definitely return for a longer stay.

Absolutely perfect stay. I cannot think of one thing that could be improved on. Beautiful room and facilities with attention to detail. Fast wifi. Service was exceptional. Vernon and Emmarentia are professional but still make you feel like you are home. The beach is a stone's throw away... It was great being able to pop to the beach whenever we wanted as it takes about a minute or 2 to walk to the beach. It was super convenient as we did Otter trail and it is close enough to the finish that we could walk back. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Tranquility.
