Transformer Next Door

I had overseas visitors and wanted to treat them to a unique dining experience. We were a group of four and decided to order a mix of 4 entrées and 4 mains to share, allowing us to try a bit of everything instead of going for the set menu. The whole experience was fantastic — and a bit intriguing, given the plant-based focus. The braised lamb was a standout, absolutely chef’s kiss! Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for something fancy, yet cosy and different.

It was the perfect food and vibe for our annual Staff dinner, with vegetarian and vegan options made super delicious. But wait, is this a wine bar? Yes, we enjoyed that smooth silky Tasmanian Pinot Noir with our food. Great service, friendly and quick and though we appeared to be a “mature group” we blended together with the bubbling visitors well. Intimate light, atmospheric decoration and just that extra funky touch of Melburnian cosmopolitan vibe. Thank you 🫶

Had some great meals here for dinner. Great service, a cool laid back atmosphere and the food was decorated and tasty. It's not over the top fsncy but for what you pay I'd say great value. Around $80 for the set menu. Plant based and vegan also available. That popcorn... Who would have thought delicious.

So happy I finally got to dine here! We celebrated my sister’s birthday here and the place really lives up to its reputation. With beautifully designed interior, it has a very cosy vibe to it. Three of us got some cocktails and shared a whole bunch of items from the menu. The food was just divine, I absolutely love a restaurant like this one with it’s creative take on vegetarian while keeping it delicious. The team that served us was also lovely. Will look forward to coming back here soon🥰

We booked for 6:30 on Sunday outside and it was completely empty. Just after ordering they seated a couple right next to us in a completely empty room. I found it odd when there was so many other spots available. They were loud and it was not an enjoyable experience. I had been here 3 years previously and had a great experience but the food this time did not equate to the money they were charging. A very simple tomatoes dish, not even cut nicely, with chimichurri sauce was 24$ and barely a whole two tomatoes which I don't think are real heriloom. The salad cut in half was fantastic as was the lions mane but the main sweet potato with extra 15$ truffles was not worth it. They grated the truffles and the flavour was barely there. Overall it was nice but we were charged 10$ for 2 glasses of sparkling water...

Wow. Just wow - gorgeous space and beautiful and delicious food. I’m an omnivore but the feed me menu was very generous and has amazing dishes…couldn’t pick a favourite! Definitely come hungry as it’s a lot! Absolutely love the cocktails too - great service as well. My only regret is not being able to make room for dessert. Highly recommend for a date

Perfect place to take your besties or to impress your plant based date to a fancy/special dinner. We had the feed me menu and my gosh do they feed you! Every dish was presented in such a unique way which made the dining experience fun and unique. My favourite were the flat chickpea fries! So good!!

YummyBots, roll out! (Transformer reference) Very yummy night. We got the set menu and added on a tasting wine thing which was three wines paired with food. Food was really good! Very interesting. The hummus and chickpea panisse were my favourites. Wines were generous sizes but didn’t blow my socks off. Staff were super accommodating to all our dietary requirements and requests. Really quality service. Can’t afford to go every day but worth checking it out!
