Transkaroo Country Lodge

When you expect nothing in a forsaken little town somewhere in nowhere, you find this Quaint, neat GEM of a hotel. Beautiful decor, air cons, garden, courtyard etc. Quality linen and attractive room. BUT beware of the overpriced drinks. Ridiculous to say the least. You may braai using your own supplies, but have to dink from the bar menu.

Wow, friendly staff, clean room with all we needed, safe parking and what a fanatics buffet supper on a Sunday evening. Compliments to the chef, just like my grandma’s food. O yes and great coffee 😁

We popped in for an impromptu buffet lunch and were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. Small town, big flavour for sure in this little plattelandse dorpie. The service was fantastic! Warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Friendly vibe and tasty dishes. I’d definitely recommend it.

We always stay over here... more for the food than the rooms but the room is comfortable enough for a one night stay. The evening dinner buffet did not disappoint and we went to bed happy and overfed! If you want to taste South African Boerekos (farm-style food) this is the place.

We popped in for a coffee and some of their delicious carrot cake to break up our long drive. Always a pleasure to stay there or just eat their food.

Driving past last Sunday evening ,nothing open in most of the towns we passed. What a great dinner we had in such a lovely setting ,we'll done

What a lovely place to stay over. The atmosphere and staff were excellent ! Not to mention the food!!! And yes, they do weigh your plate and you do pay accordingly but you will never have a better food experience than that. The food is out of this world. ||We stayed over with a 7 month baby, and the lodge arranged a camping cot for him. ||The rooms are clean and spacious.||Because it is an old building you might encounter something that needs attention…. But hey!!! We live in a real world…. Not everything is perfect. ||But our stay was more than perfect!!!! Will definitely go again!
