Went a day dogsledding there. I can highly recommend the place. The owners daughter is also dog racing, so the dogs are really good. Also what we heard from their employees and what we felt and saw they treat the dogs and staff good. Thank you for that awesome experience and keep up the daytrip possibily, not everybody can afford more😅.

Spent 3 lovely days at Trasti & Trine lodge. Nice rooms, lovely staff and excellent food, both in the restaurant and at breakfast. Alaska bar was a real gem, cozy, friendly and with some unique Norwegian whiskies. Highly recommended!

We went there to experience the sledging with dogs. Everyone was wonderful, dogs included! The place was magical, and the lunch afterwords was delicious! A HUGE Thank you to everyone. A “must see” is Jonny’s amazing wine cellar!! I hope we can go back there, perhaps in the summer?!

We had a wonderful 2-night stay here. The best accommodation of our entire trip. We stayed in the Elva cabin, which is beautifully designed with glass panels so you can look up to the sky and the surrounding pine forest from your bed. The interior is cosy and tastefully decorated. We saw the Northern Lights one night just outside our door it was spectacular. Food was delicious, as with their desserts and bread. We even bought a loaf to bring along to Tromso our next stop. Breakfast is included in the room price and comes with a variety of hot and cold dishes. I just love trying all the different types of pickles, waffles, cold cuts and cheese etc. Make sure you take a walk in the surrounding forest to the Alta river. It’s a winter wonderland

Lovely place to stay with a wonderful restaurant as well. We enjoyed the country style food and had a great stay. The design is made so you can enjoy a view of the northern lights while falling asleep in your bed.

We stayed for 6 nights here and enjoyed it. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly and very accommodating. However, we had a few niggles about our cabin. We stayed in one of the new ones, "Elva" and found the walls to be quite thin. We could hear our next door neighbors all the time (the ones who shared a wall with us). And one night in particular, someone kept running up and down the stairs late at night and it was so loud. I also wish the bathroom window had a curtain as it was a bit unnerving. It wasn't hard for anyone to walk past and see our reflection in the mirror as we entered and exited the shower. Also, billing was confusing and I would have appreciated someone explaining to us what the process was. We dined twice at their restaurant and each time we tried to pay for our dinner with our credit card, we were told that there was something wrong with their terminal. So they asked if they could add it to our room and we said yes, signed the receipts, thinking that they were going to charge our credit card on file (we booked directly on their website). They had several opportunities to ask us to settle the bill before we left and no one did. The day before we left, we told them what time we were leaving (6:30 A.M.) and asked on several occasions if there was anything we needed to do before we check out. We even picked up the sandwiches they had kindly made for us at 7:30 PM and we weren't told anything about it. And then on our final night, we were awoken by someone knocking on our door at 11 PM. It was the owner, Johnny, asking us how we were going to settle the bill. No "sorry to disturb you; but I think there was a misunderstanding", just brusquely asking me: "What time are you leaving tomorrow and how are you settling the bill?". I have to admit that I was taken aback. I told him that we had signed the receipts they presented us with and he said that wasn't going to help. Then he asked me to head to the restaurant and pay. So, I got out in my jammies and settled the bill. I guess it was my mistake to assume that they had already charged my card (since this is how they normally do it whenever I travel to other places); but an explanation would have been appreciated. Other than that, we had a pleasant stay. The entire place itself was very homely and perfectly located just 15 minutes away from the airport and the city center.

Came here to see the dogs and had a great lunch. Huskies can be quite excited such as launching their paws on you quite hard but they are just friendly and wants you to pat them. Every dog has its own personality. Raise your fist slowly to their nose and let them know you. Made me want to have a dog to bond with.

Yelp
My wife and I were touring Norway with Insight travel when we visited this wonderful restaurant for lunch and dog sledding. We have been traveling along the coast of and this was one of the best restaurants we had visited. Johnny would be a zillionaire if this place was in New York City or LAS Vegas but the couple love dog sledding and of course Norway. The food and service were better the most Michelin rated restaurants we have dined. The food was perfectly portioned, paired with the best wines and served at the perfect time. To believe we were brought to this restaurant during a group tour chasing the Northern lights was icing on the cake. Our dog sledding experience through the snow covered trails and trees was absolutely breathtaking beautiful. The entire experience was the highlight of our trip, even more than seeing the Northern Lights! This is a great experience from a great couple who love dog sledding and entertaining guests.
