This restraint is right by the water. Enemy though the location is a bit too close to the bridge, but their service and food make it up. They squally Venice doesn’t provide good service even the 5 star hotels, because the people are too tired of tourism. But this restaurant brings you very home atmosphere. And the seafood lasagna and the black cuttlefish is a must try

Google
I was there for New Years. The restaurant has a unique planning, where you can reserve a table only for two hours. It is understood that after the two hours are over, you have to leave, as the new guests are arriving. It was a new concept for me but I still enjoyed my time and didn‘t feel rushed. The food was excellent (I ordered cuttlefish pasta and braised bass) and came in a timely order. The tiramisu was excellent. The servers were incredibly attentive and could speak several languages. I can only recommend!

Google
The clam pasta was so good! We were recommended to go to this place by a local. When we walked in it was full of thr Gondoliers having lunch which was a very good sign. The service was spectacular. Its tucked in near a bridge so not many tourists

Google
I really LOVE the service here (and ofc the food is awesome), the waiters here are all so friendly, we don’t speak any Italians but they tried their best to talk to us in English and introduced all their personal favorite dishes and combos. When they learn we travelled from France, they even started speaking their limited French with us, we felt extremely welcomed and blessed to eat here, you can feel they aren’t just treating work as work but an enjoyable part of their life! For the food, we tried carbonara, spaghetti with clams, mixed grilled veggies, cuttlefish and grilled sea bass, everything came so good!

Google
A cute little restaurant with the cutest & oldest servers. One of the servers even played with our son. We ordered the beef Lasagna and grilled chicken. Absolutely loved the Lasagna. Like even if you feel you don’t like Lasagna, this dish will change your opinion. Its that good. It was delicious and worth all the walk to the restaurant.

Wow. This place is great! Me and my mom went here on our trip to Venice, and we loved it. Our waiter was funny, and very nice. We got the Branzino (came with a pea sauce) and the clam linguine. Both were amazing. Was a little packed in, but that adds to coziness of the restaurant. Would recommend to book, although when we got there, there was little to no line. We did book though, just to be safe. Overall, we loved this place! Maybe a little expensive for some, but worth every penny. Would come again!

The food was great the waiter was really helpful but the place is too hot and the main course was really delayed

Amazing staff, food and location. Eating among the Gondoliers adds to the authenticity of the restaurant.

Yelp
This place was incredible. If we had more time I'd have eaten here again! All the seafood was so fresh and perfectly cooked. The seafood lasagna was excellent and something different. All of the pasta was amazing. The desserts were heaven. Great port options for after dinner. I hope to return someday! Service was excellent. They were able to sit us right away without a reservation. Overall vibe was great.

Yelp
Amazing amazing amazing. We wanted to have lunch here but they were fully booked. So we made reservations for dinner. We were a party of 7... everything that we ordered from the appetizers to pasta to dessert were delicious. Best tiramisu we have ever had (Rome-Sienna-Pisa-Florence-Cinque Terre-Venice).

Yelp
As others have noted, this is a tiny place that seems to be frequented by locals. We enjoyed our lunches (Gnocchi Granchio - € 18 and Fritto Misto - € 19, respectively) and ordered plenty of other items that added up to a hefty lunch tab of € 112,50. (Other items: € 3,50 water; € 26 wine; € 5 salad; € 13 for 2 desserts; € 9 amaro; and € 2 coffee). The food was good. The service was uneven, leaving stretches of time when no one attended our table. For instance, one waiter (not ours) grabbed the bottle of olive oil off our table before we had even had a chance to use it, which is why the lack of attention and service was so obvious. There didn't seem to be good communication among the various waiters. My biggest quibble is that this restaurant charged € 5 for Coperto (€2,50 each), but it also added € 12,06 as a service charge that wasn't disclosed anywhere that we could see. I don't think it was printed on the menu, at a minimum. It seems like double-dipping for a restaurant to charge both the 5 Euro Coperto (cover charge) AND a 12 Euro service charge. We liked the food, but my enduring memory of this restaurant will be the aftertaste of being gouged. I would not go back for this reason alone.

Yelp
The menu had spaghetti with clams, I asked if they could do a spaghetti with muscles ala marina, it was a nice olive oil with cherry plumb tomatoes light marina sauce, it was Devine! My wife's lasagne bolognese was excellent too, my friend had the fish lasagna and he was truly impressed as well. The staff was kind, friendly, and helpful. The bread was the tastiest we've had so far while in Italy as well.
google avatar

Esther S.

Yelp
We had lunch here on our first day in Venice and I'm so happy we did. It seemed like a lot of locals come here. We ordered the Lasagna it was the best I've tried so far. We tried to go back the next day for dinner but the guy said they were booked. I highly recommend this place, service was great and the ambiance is perfect and cozy.

Yelp
It's hard to notice if you are just passing by. A tiny restaurant. Waiters are very nice locals. Not much view since it's all indoor sitting but it's cozy. Bread is standard. Bought from market maybe I had a squid ink pasta: 4.7/5. Very strong umami flavor! Just a tiny bit more salty. Cuttlefish is super tender. Probably the tenderest in my life! Highly recommend! Steak fillet with green pepper sauce with fries: fries is meh, kinda soft. But the steak is one of the tensest I've had. The green pepper sauce is very unique sharp flavor with a tingling spicyness Tiramisu is one of the best I had in Italy so far 5/5. Cream is denser than most out there. Strong coffee flavor. Price is reasonable on this osland

Yelp
Ordered a spaghetti with seafood, ( di mare) and husband had a spaghetti with gnocchi with crab sauce. Both were delicious! The sauce for the spaghetti was savory and the crab sauce was rich. We also ordered a grilled branzino ( sea bass) to share. It was really tasty as they were grilled fillet. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. They were a little intense with recommendations but there were so many people working that the service was great.

Yelp
First meal in Venice. This little restaurant is beside the stairs. If you don't pay attention you will miss it. Luckily we saw it. We ordered two appetizers and five main courses. All the dishes were so fresh and delicious!!! The guy who was helping us had a good sense of humor and provided an excellent service for us. :)
google avatar

Adelina P.

Yelp
YES!!! Exceptional food. I ordered the lasagna and it was the best I've ever had. The calamari was also so fresh and light and delicious.

Teri H.

Yelp
Food was great. Did not have to wait. So many choices to choose from. We ordered 4 dishes and love them all.
google avatar

Yelp
Great hole in the wall spot. Waiter was attentive and nice, told me about of menu choices too. Food was great and good sized. Their tiramisu is different, they claim it's the original format. Does not look like what you expect nowadays but it's delicious nonetheless.
google avatar

Ankit M.

Yelp
Great food but rushed serving which did not give us a good experience. They also did not let us order a risotto from the menu (group of 4) as they wanted at least 6 orders of a risotto to make it. The food was great.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service good food Waiter was great!!!! Small and quaint very friendly atmosphere

Yelp
The best meal we had in Venice Italy. Sardines are out of this world. Fish or meat ... owned by the same family from 1973.

Susan K.

Yelp
We didn't have a reservation, so we had to wait awhile, but we understood why. A neighborhood gem that is filled with locals and is run by the hard-working owners. The food and drink we had--spaghetti and clams, grilled sole, spinach and red beans, Chianti, and limoncello--was delicious. Hidden away next to bridge, and anything but a tourist trap. Very nice first dinner in Venice!
google avatar

Stephen H.

Yelp
Dinner was excellent. We started with the crab gnocchi and the ravioli and a nice Lambrusco. Next they brought out the fresh catch of the day, sea bass. It was so good. Cooked perfectly. Our service was excellent. Highly recommend

Marc R.

Yelp
Windows to a canal as Gondolas ride by. Food is fresh and delicious. Service was great.

Yelp
We had a marvelous experience at this restaurant. My spaghetti alla pomodoro has ruined my expectations and experiences since I left the area. Ambiance was quiet and romantic, and service was excellent. I'd go back if I could.

Justin J.

Yelp
This restaurant was a hidden gem. My daughter saw a large group of gondola drivers relaxing and enjoying lunch together. We decided to try it. The food, service, and ambiance were perfect for Venice. We enjoyed our lunch! We would come again in a heartbeat.

Yelp
Amazing and authentic Italian food in Venice. The place was recommended by a local and didn't disappoint. The fish lasagna is simply delicious.

Yelp
I had read reviews and had high expectations and we walked in and the waiter immediately told us to sit where we like (the restaurant was pretty empty). We sat down and he immediately came out with Chiccatas, the first one was like fried cheese balls in like a creamy cheese grits. It was really tasty they brought out several kinds of breads. It was time to order and I stuck with the carbonara and it was the BEST I have ever had! The pasta sauce was very creamy and full of flavor, and the ham was cooked well and not chewy! My husband had the spaghetti and he throughly enjoyed his food too, we definitely give this restaurant 5stars!!!!

Liz K.

Yelp
Cute, small restaurant. The gnocchi w clam sauce was good, but dry. Ask for extra sauce when ordering Calamari friti was delicious, very tender. Ask for marinara sauce. Bread is awful. They gave us used, old bread they had wine on it. Mezze lune ravioli was delicious & lasagna was ok, needed more seasoning. All served hot, Very busy place, hard working people.

Yelp
This place was so hard to find because it's hidden in inner streets; we spent 40min going around circle trying to find it. Luckily a friendly local lady who was walking her dog, helped and led us here. Although we were tried from walking, it was such a nice experience and made it so worthy! We had a reservation but obviously we were late; the servers were so nice and still took our reservation and sat us in 10min. They're all so friendly and they seemed so happy working there. Our server seemed to work there the longest because we see him in some of the photos on the wall; I forgot his name and he was so nice and funny; he was very patient trying to explain to us what they're famous for. We ordered almost everything on their menu e because we wanted to try everything. We had their Black Ink Spaghetti, which I was scared to try at first, but once I had my first bite, I wasn't able to stop because it was so tasty! Grilled Scampi, 4 big shrimps sliced in half and nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked. Grilled Monkfish was so fresh and so much meat! Grilled squid that was in cute round shape, tasted so good! And a shrimp salad, which was alright. Along with their house wine, which complimented the freshness of their seafood. They also gave us some complimentary side dishes throughout our dinner. We spent 2.5hrs there, ended the dinner with delicious house made tiramisu; ended perfectly. Highly, highly recommended this place if you're in the neighborhood, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Food was great but I can't say it was more spectacular than other places we ate while visiting Venice. Venue was crowded with limited air flow and no view outside, but also not uncommon for this area. At one point during dinner, an accordion player entered for entertainment and while the music was good, it was WAY TOO LOUD for such a small place and we had no way of escaping it. Afterward he circled for tips. I chose the ghocchi which was delicious. My husband ordered steak and green peppers which ended up being meet boiled in capers and Hollandaise sauce, the description on the menu was poor. They tout the best tiramisu in the world - how can you not get it? It was yummy, no doubt. Overall, decent meal for the area.
google avatar

Grace A.

Yelp
Meh.... unfortunately. We ordered the spaghetti with cuttle fish and ink sauce, the gnocchi with crab and the spaghetti with clams. All three dishes we just okay... Kind of a waste of a meal. We did however get the fried calamari which was very good (but no dipping sauce) and the Tiramisu which is the best I've had our entire trip. Our waiter was very friendly and a good gave good service. I'd come back for the calamari and the tiramisu for sure.

Marina T.

Yelp
We went were twice in two days! Seafood Lasagna, grilled scampi, tiramisu - are all a must when dining here.

Yelp
Spent two weeks in Italy and had many many vongole dishes , this spaghetti & clams was hands down the best !!!!

Mel S.

Yelp
A lot of restaurants in this nice beautiful town. But seafood is a must try in Venice. I ordered 3 dishes and like them all. Good and fresh seafood, but a bit expensive, worth to try overall
google avatar

Yelp
Everything from the service to the food was incredible. My boyfriend and I were originally just going to order entrees, but our waiter convinced us to have some fried calamari and shrimp as an appetizer...I must point out that the fried calamari was not on the menu and he put in this special order for us and we didn't even request it! The fried calamari and shrimp were so fresh and tender, the batter around it was so light. Our entrees were also delicious...I got the spaghetti with clams and my boyfriend got meat ravioli in a bolognese sauce...both were outstanding! ALSO we got dessert, tiramisu...which was so delicious! I'd also like to point out how amazing our waiter was, he is funny and also really believes in the food they serve there. You could really tell he enjoys the food there. The rest of the staff was also very kind!

Yelp
Didn't get to eat here. Tuesday night, mid-October. Arrived at restaurant and was rudely turned away at the door. Waiter at the door "Reservation? No? Not tonight." Turned on his heel and walked away. We were in town for a couple more days and would have tried again if encouraged by the staff. So many other restaurant choices so we won't be going back.

Yelp
This was my favorite during my stay in Venice. Apparently a lot of gondoliers recommend this place - it must be their go-to spot. We came in around 8:30pm and it was packed so we waited about 20 minutes for a table. A kind server came up to us during the wait and offered us a glass of white wine on the house! I had the Seabream fish, which was very fresh and delicious. We also had the Mediterranean style shrimp appetizer, which tasted amazing. The service was wonderful - we had a lighthearted server who would made jokes every time he helped us. All in all, an excellent experience and this spot is well worth the wait. Not to mention, they have really decent prices compared to other restaurants in the area.
google avatar

Tom G.

Yelp
We came here nearly every day during our month in Bracciano. The staff were excellent and so accommodating. The cappuccino and macchiato superb and the food and wine super. A must while visiting this beautiful medieval town.

Yelp
Venice is a maze. We happened to stumble upon Alla Rivetta, and were very glad to do so. The restaurant is very cute but easy to miss. To start, I would suggest the calamari. It is lightly battered, perfectly cooked, and very fresh. For our mains, we went a little over board and ordered more than we could eat. We ordered the gnocchi, and the consistency of gnocchi was wonderful. Chewy but also soft. The pastas were perfectly al dente and had great flavor. The fish special was a catch of the day and it was cooked perfectly and seasoned wonderfully. The mom n pop shop has a very local and neighborhood feel to it. The wines are wonderful, and the staff is very attentive and give great recommendations.

Yelp
We've found our favorite place to dine in Venice~ Simple yet deliciously executed dishes. Home style cooking at its best! The trattoria gets very full but it's worth the wait (parties of two are seated a bit more quickly). I've been warned not to go to any restaurants where the menu is written in multiple languages, but I'd say this trattoria is the exception. Starters: 1) Spinach with butter - much better than it sounds 2) Gorgonzola - good staple with bread Main Courses: 1) Calamari with prawns - lightly breaded, succulent 2) Bevetta pasta with seafood - beautiful!! Desserts: 1) Ice cream truffle - lovely espresso center 2) Tiramisu - creamy, decadent delight Atmosphere was Italian in the best way, lively, cosy, and chaotic. We'll be back on Tuesday (they're closed Mondays)!

Rich B.

Yelp
Awesome menu of local dishes (pasta & seafood) & wine by the glass or bottle. Super clean restaurant with friendly staff who speak great English. Get there before they open or late at night. Otherwise, you'll be lined up outside, behind all of the Gondoliers who eat here day & night. They also serve take out (take away).

Jolene L.

Yelp
This restaurant went above and beyond to make sure we all had a great experience! The food was delicious, the service was on point, and the tiramisu was scrumptious!! Thanks!!!

Yelp
Rivetta was recommended to us by some gondoliers in Venice. We ate there a few years ago and returned to another great meal on our visit this week. The pastas are superb! Fish is so fresh and well seasoned. The service is energetic and friendly. We can't wait to return again; everything we ate was excellent!
google avatar

Stephany V.

Yelp
We ate here 9 years ago and accidentally stumbled upon it again today. We stopped for a salad but the lasagna special sounded so good we decided to share it. It was soooo good! Also, the place was FILLED with gondoliers and waiters which is quite an endorsement. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
We had our favorite meal in Venice at Alla Rivetta. After walking around Venice in the late morning, we decided to head here for an early lunch. The place looks small next to the canal, but does have decent seating in the restaurant. Evidently, a lot of the gondoliers eat lunch here, and we could see them in their uniforms seated next to us. We ended up ordering: Spaghetti alla vongole: nice and tender clams with nicely cooked pasta (wish we ordered another one) Tagliarini with crab: nice texture, but I wanted more crab Grilled scampi: very good, though not much meat Fritto misto: love how lightly fried the seafood was Lucky for us, we got there before the lunch rush as we saw a lot of people waiting for a table when we left. I will definitely return to Alla Rivetta if I am in Venice again.
google avatar

Candice T.

Yelp
Went here on a bit of a whim since we were starving. Wow did we get lucky! Everything was outstanding! We fell in love with the mixed fish plate after eating here and ordered it everywhere in Venice. This place had the best one for sure. Great service too!

Yelp
*Ambiance: Nice and cozy. *Service: Older nice gentleman, but he was a little pushy. *Food: : Fantastic. We got the grilled sea bass and the inked spaghetti with cuttlefish. The house white wind was good. *The experience Overall: Great for a first night in Venice. We sat next to a lovely couple from South Africa/ San Fran that ended up going together after dinner for a gelato treat. * Would I go back again: Yes!

Yelp
They started us off with some stale bread rolls, followed up by not offering water for free. I wanted to order a glass of wine, but the menu only had bottles, so they asked what kind I wanted: red or white. I promptly received a Franzia quality glass of wine for €6.50. They recommended the lasagna to us, which came out in about 2 minutes flat. Can't say I've ever eaten lasagna with old deli ham in it, so that was a first. The "local" clams were mediocre, and the gnocchi was a pitifully small portion and lean cuisine quality. Terrible texture, flavor/slicing, and quite greasy. To top it all off, they overcharged us. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND, DO NOT GO. Such a tourist trap
google avatar

Tomislav M.

Yelp
Wonderful meal from beginning to end. We went here with another couple, and had a couple of the fresh sea bass. They brought the fish out raw for us to inspect before we ordered, cooked it perfectly, plated it skillfully, and it was superb. I appreciate people that grill whole fish well every day, because they do a much better job than I possibly could with my less frequent cooking. We enjoyed the fish with some excellent wine that the waiter recommended, a local Ribolla Gialla that I was previously unfamiliar with, that had an interesting mineral flavor and paired perfectly with the fish. The side salads, potatoes, grilled vegetables, and spinach were all very good. We enjoyed a good panned cotta and tiramisu with our grappa for dessert. The waiter indicated that the desserts were made on premises, and whether that is literally true or not is immaterial; both were quite tasty. The service was attentive, friendly and professional and the bill was reasonable, including tip, service charge, cover charge, whatever. We ate in a charming restaurant on a canal in Venice within ten minutes of St. Mark's square, had wonderful food including two bottles of terrific wine, dessert and a digestif, all for $75 per person. I review maybe one out of thirty restaurants that I find on Yelp, and this was a very nice experience. I recommend you go, and that you follow your waiter's recommendations. Grazié.

Yelp
Second time eating here. The service is friendly, lots of joking, by a crew of mature male waiters. Our party of four ordered grilled branzino (sea bass); spaghetti with squid ink; cuttlefish with polenta; and fried shrimp and squid. We shared a plate of grilled eggplant and a half liter of house cabernet. The best of our entrees was definitely the sea bass, perfectly cooked and flavorful, not fishy. The spaghetti neri was also wonderful and contained chunks of melt-in-your-mouth squid. The fried seafood was lightly battered, not at all heavy or greasy, and perfectly seasoned. We decided that the ink sauce on the cuttlefish served with the polenta was a little overpowering; although the person in our party who loves salty things thought it was the bomb. We all agreed that the eggplant, and the tiramisu we shared for dessert, were top-notch. There's always a line to get into this place, and for good reason. Our waiters were as friendly and accommodating as the food was good. Prices aren't cheap but aren't through the roof, either. Our party of four spent about 88 euros total, which included two bottles of mineral water and gratuity (always included in the bill in Italy, soooo convenient!) We left feeling happy and satisfied.

Yelp
We were very anxious to get to this restaurant based on the number of good reviews posted by other members. However, we were extremely disappointed by the service (absence of such) as well as the food. When we got in to the restaurant (4 of us) we were offered a table without a wait time. Host offered us a table that had 6 chairs. Half way into our meal and without asking us at all, they decided to sit 2 more people to our table. Courtesy request would be kind of nice... Food was nothing special at all. We got some chicken liver, calamari and spaghetti with seafood. Host also offered us some house wine, but...it was a bit horrible. Host admitted this himself afterwards. Why he would offer it to us this wine in the first place?? Our mistake... When we got a bill, it was on a piece of napkin with no itemization. God knows what was there... Apparently, Credit card machine was not working in this restaurant for 4 days and host gave us no warning or notification about that. Had to get cash from nearby ATM. Not sure if this can be considered a good service. No apologies or "sorry" of any kind... Overall, very tourist oriented place. They have a carousel of visitors who want to get in. Food is not great and service is not existent. Do yourself a favor and don't sit at the restaurant near st. Marco square. You will get so much more value and experience from both the food and your time in the Venice if you go inside - at least few more blocks.

Yelp
Great seafood and standard Italian options in this casual, canal-side spot. Prices extremely reasonable compared to others in the area. Love this place but need to get there early for dinner or you'll most likely have to wait, they fill up fast. You can grab a drink from the small bar to help pass the time. I had a delicious seafood lasagna and my SO had some very good pasta & clams. Saw some really good-looking grilled and fried seafood plates delivered to other tables that wish I'd had the room to try. Desserts aren't much to talk about, but plenty of places for sweets and gelato nearby. The servers were mostly great but there's one older man who is the classic surly type. Provided more comic relief than annoyance.

Yelp
The food was great! Very fresh seafood dishes. Pasta simple and yummy. The lasagna with artichokes and shrimp was very good. The mussels marinara was truly special. But what makes this restaurant unique is the service with our animated and totally helpful server. He guided us through our choice of entree and even showed us the specialty from the other table's orders. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!!

Yelp
Spectacular! You would never know unless you trust yelp and my review. Exactly what you want if you're looking for an amazing, authentic, delicious Italian Venetian meal! Simple, Wonderfully Delicious!!!Grazie Trattoria alla Rivetta!

Yelp
Last meal of Venice and this restaurant blew my husband and I away. Located where the locals live (Castello), we showed up with no reservations at around 8ishpm and were taken in right away. We were craving seafood, which is why we stepped foot here. We ordered the fried calamari & shrimp and some fish dish (not sea bass, but staff said it's like sea bass). The fried calamari & shrimp were fried to perfection. If there's such thing as a healthy fried food, this would be it. Comes with a lemon wedge to drizzle all over. The fish dish came out later with no sides, but we just demolished a tray of fries so we were okay on starch. Both dishes were delicious! We ended it with a tiramisu and espresso shot. The tiramisu was by far the best I ever had. My husband said the espresso shot was good too! I suggest you come here if you are craving seafood in Venice!
