Trattoria Bolognese da Mauro seems like a neighborhood’s favorite where locals frequent. It feels like you were invited into someone’s home with the best Italian hospitality filled with lively chatters and history framed on the walls. They serve up generous portions of the best traditional Bolognese dishes! We ordered gnocco fritto, tortellini con panna and gramigna con salsiccia, and each of them were so flavorful and deeply comforting.

Absolutely love this place. Authentic, backstreet trattoria. Food was fantastic, service was great and the atmosphere was amazing. Filled with locals and very well priced. Best thing ever, no tourists! This is the real deal.

This was hands down the best restaurant we visited during our city break in Milan! We wanted a family-owned spot with authentic, handmade pasta, away from the tourist-heavy center where you might find good food but not that true Italian feel. This place was a hidden gem—everything from the atmosphere to the portions was incredible. The food was delicious, and the servings were huge! We couldn’t finish it all, but it was too good to leave behind, so we asked for a box to take it with us. When we first arrived, there were only a few people, which surprised us. But within 20 minutes, the place was packed! If you want to guarantee a seat, it’s best to make a reservation in advance, which is easy to do with a quick WhatsApp message. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The restaurant is conveniently located near a metro station, just a 5-7 minute walk. It gave us a lovely glimpse into the quieter, more authentic side of Milan. We absolutely loved our experience here!

A fantastic restaurant that is known amongst the people of Milan but shared with the world. A fantastic environment with delicious food that engulfs your tastebuds. A must-visit restaurant in Milan.

Enjoyed a delicious meal at Trattoria Bolognese da Mauro on the final evening of our 2-week trip to Italy. We were really hoping to find somewhere delicious and less touristy for our final meal, and our dinner, which was very reasonably priced, couldn’t have been better. The pastas, in particular, were fantastic. They came out quickly, and it was clear they were freshly made. I would highly recommend the gramigna, as well as the strozzapreti, which were both fantastic (and very generous portions). If we were staying here another night, I’d be tempted to come back and order these again. To top things off, the staff are also very friendly and attentive. It was seemingly only two waiters for a restaurant of well over 40-50 occupants, including one very large group of over 25 students, but we never had any issues with the service. Everyone was very kind and accommodating. One thing to note: would highly recommend a reservation (we messaged via WhatsApp). We saw several groups walk in who weren’t able to find a table. This is a great place for a delicious and reasonably-priced dinner - highly recommend!

Found this restaurant on maps. The staff was so nice and friendly. Got a table in like 5 minutes, they tried immediately to get space for me. You could see they love what they are doing. It's a really authentic atmosphere and a lot of locals. The pasta is supposed to be really good and I wasn't disappointed at all. The pasta is homemade and was incredibly good. I definitely recommend it. It was such a nice experience. Prices are still really good.
