This place is a classic Athens must-try. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the entire staff and management are super friendly and hospitable. The restaurant is warm and cozy, and the menu has something for everyone. We ordered the shrimp salad, short rib gnocchi and tagliata. All three dishes were excellent! Our all-time favorite, however, is the creamy and rich tiramisu. To die for!

Perfect for a relaxed evening out, the atmosphere strikes a lovely balance between casual and elegant, making it ideal for enjoying truly flavorful Italian cuisine. There were two of us and decided to sampled a variety of small dishes to get a full taste of what they offer, and every plate impressed us. The thin-crust pizza was a standout – crisp, light, and deliciously balanced in flavor. Their pasta selection is equally wonderful, with rich, comforting sauces and perfectly cooked noodles that show off the kitchen’s attention to detail. The service was another highlight: attentive, genuinely friendly, and very efficient without ever feeling rushed. It's clear the team takes pride in creating a great dining experience.

Every time I’m in Athens (as a Greek Londoner, that’s often!), this Italian gem is an absolute must. The vibe is always great, the service is super warm, and the food? Next level. The Positano salad and Beef carpaccio are our go-to starters - so fresh, so tasty. And whether it’s pizza, pasta, or anything in between, everything’s cooked to perfection. You can really taste the quality in every bite. Honestly, it never misses. Highly recommend - you’ll love it!

Trattoria Capanna offers an amazing dining experience. The food is excellent every time. My go-to order that I urge you to try is the Caprese salad, the Carpaccio, and the Cacio Pepe. Service is great since the staff will always help you out with a smile while also being professional and genuine. The inside area is cozy, while the outside is ideal for a warm summer night. The overall decor makes this the ideal place for both special occasions and relaxed evenings.

Amazing traditional Italian restaurant in the heart of Athens. Excellent food that makes you think that you are somewhere in Italy and enjoying the traditional cuisine! Giannis, the manager was extremely sweet and helpful and always helped us with whatever we needed with a big smile! Needless to say that the atmosphese is cosy and sophisticated at the same time! Will definitely visit again at first opportunity! Thank you Capanna Team and Happy New Year!

Delicious Italian especially the eggplant parmigiana! Everything was cooked to perfection and lovely wine and ambience

We stopped by for a light lunch and sat outside. The focaccia was thin and a bit dry, complimentary cherry tomatoes were a nice touch (€3 per person). Ordered still water - 700ml (€3). Had a glass of Ricasoli Bianco (€7), which paired nicely with the salad. Shared a green mixed salad w/avocado & shrimp (€18.50); fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The dressing was especially good. The portion was well-sized for two people. We did notice quite a few flies while sitting outside. It would be great if the restaurant could consider some light seasonal solutions for summer, like scented candles or insect-repelling plants. Prices are slightly above average, which is expected for the area. I'd be happy to return to try their pizza and pasta menu.
