Some meals stay with you, and this was one of them. From the moment we arrived we felt warmly welcomed, and that feeling stayed with us throughout the whole evening. We began with the arancini, which were simply exceptional — crisp on the outside and full of flavour inside. The pasta with cavolo nero was deeply comforting and beautifully balanced. For mains, the veal cheek was outstanding: meltingly tender, rich and soulful, while the mixed grill was perfectly cooked, full of flavour and seasoned with real care and respect for the ingredients. Dessert was just as special. The orange parfait was fresh and elegant, and the homemade dessert of the day was a true little surprise — simple, honest and delicious, just like the food you hope to find in a place like this. What really makes this restaurant shine is the people. The staff were genuinely kind, attentive and proud of what they serve. Combined with a lovely selection of local wines and a warm, relaxed atmosphere, it felt like discovering a little hidden gem in Assisi. This is the kind of place you remember long after the meal is finished. Highly, highly recommended ❤️

Trattoria Da Erminio was on our restaurant list when we searched what's good in Assisi. We were waiting for quite a bit until there's seat available. The interior was rustic because it's an old historical building. But it's cozy and warm inside. We were served a yellow bread which was dry and tasteless. We ordered: UMBRICELLI AL RAGÙ BIANCO DI CAPRIOLO - Umbrian long pasta with roe feer sauce COSTINE E SALSICCE - pork ribs and sausages The pasta was underseasoned and not as al dente as it's supposed to. But the grilled pork ribs and sausages were divine! It was tasty, flavorful and grillef to perfection. I saw a old lady was grilling meat on the bbq pit. Our meats were handled by an experienced and professional hands👌 Unfortunately i couldn't give a good rating because of the pasta. But the grilled meat is a must order when you visit.

Impressive local Umbria eatery that lives up to all the Michelin awards they have earned through the years. Friendly chef and staff and warm atmosphere — a truly Italian place of eats! Love it and grazie mille!

Great restaurant away from the crowded areas. Supli starter was nice. The homemade egplant ravioli was exceptional. The suckling pork was a stand out. Would go again.

This is a highly recommended family owned restaurant noted by Michelin status of the past. There is a small outdoor sitting area and a medium size indoor dining area. The atmosphere is friendly and unique with a fully functional wood burning oven where guests wait in anticipation for their grilled meats to arrive at their tables sizzling and fragrant. Try the Italian beef, “Bistecca di Manzo” with a side of Italian style French fries, “patate fritters” and a mixed green salad. Add a glass of Rosso di Montefalco or draft beer and you are beginning a gastronomic journey of delight. Be sure to have the house desert, “Dolce Della casa” to complement a spectacular lunch experience. Total price for 2 was 73 euro.

Looks like the Michelin guide has stopped coming here since Covid (last sign dated 2019) because the food is still excellent. Cosy interior with the fireplace burning in the corner. Dishes are traditional but with the little extra somehow. Beet colored gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce both beautiful to the eye and to the palate. Grilled lamb stuffed with porcini was the best lamb I’ve tasted in a long time. Don’t miss the Tiramisu although not from Umbria it’s an Italian classic and they make it just the perfect balance of creamy and moist. We came at 12 on a quiet day and it was easy to get a table but still a small queue so believe a busy day will be packed with people. Enjoy!

Exceptional food and atmosphere. The location is cozy and the food is amazing. Must try the special lasagna with truffles.

Google
Lovely trattoria with truly excellent food, the antipasto of salumi & formaggi was of very good quality, as were the Strangozzi with wild asparagus and black truffle, the ricotta gnocchi and the braised veal cheek. Portions are definitely generous and the flavors are genuine and ver my well balanced. Service is kind and efficient, we enthusiastically recommend!

Yelp
Food was well prepared and delicious. For the price it was 100% better than the tourist places on the main streets. They charge a similar price for bread and meat sandwiches. We were the second couple to arrive after they opened, yet the waitress took other's orders before us and they received their food first. Several people were even finished before our food arrived. We didn't have a reservation but we arrived when there was only one table seated. We were not happy about the service, but would still highly recommend. Get a reservation if possible. Would have given 5 stars if we had better service.

Yelp
The most memorable meal of my life. Both my female companion and I have dined at Michelin Star restaurants, most recently at Osteria Mozza in Los Angeles. It was a wonderful experience, but it pales in comparison to our experience this evening at the Michelin Guide-mentioned Trattoria da Erminio. What I fail to understand is how a restaurant like Osteria Mozza has earned a single Michelin Star and Trattoria da Erminio isn't working on its third. I ordered simple food tonight; an Insalata Mista, a Gorgonzola and Walnut Fondue (that we shared), a simple Mushroom Pasta, a glass of the House Red Wine, and a piece of Grandmother's Cake. The Insalata Mista's radicchio and fennel were the freshest I've ever had. In fact, all of the ingredients in the salad were. The Gorgonzola and Walnut Fondue is (and I say this without reservation) the most delightful thing I have ever eaten... period. The Shoestring Mushroom Pasta was beyond delightful, and the Grandmother's cake was exquisite, superb actually. And the House Red Wine? Wow! The Cab Franc and Sangiovese Blend paired beautifully with all of my food. And it's interesting. While the atmosphere and interior decor are so enchanting, at Trattoria da Erminio. It's all about the food. An incredible amount of heart and love go into it. This restaurant is the perfect compliment to the town of St. Francis (the patron Saint of Animals) and should not be missed.
