This is a highly recommended family owned restaurant noted by Michelin status of the past. There is a small outdoor sitting area and a medium size indoor dining area. The atmosphere is friendly and unique with a fully functional wood burning oven where guests wait in anticipation for their grilled meats to arrive at their tables sizzling and fragrant. Try the Italian beef, “Bistecca di Manzo” with a side of Italian style French fries, “patate fritters” and a mixed green salad. Add a glass of Rosso di Montefalco or draft beer and you are beginning a gastronomic journey of delight. Be sure to have the house desert, “Dolce Della casa” to complement a spectacular lunch experience. Total price for 2 was 73 euro.

Fantastic experience. Amazing pasta, soups and grill- local specialties. Make a reservation but don’t miss this place if you’re in Asissi. Extremely friendly staff. Dog friendly

A gem in the narrow uphill roads of Assisi. A family-run traditional place, which has kept up the traditional pride of the Italian kitchen. A welcoming small but not crowded atmosphere. Book ahead not to be disappointed. The food was delicious. Coming from an island where Rabbit dishes are a proud tradition, it was lovely to taste rabbit cooked in a different way with their traditional local herbs.

Nice meal. Better variety than the ham, cheese, tomatoes and bread routine at tourist locations. Nice staff and reasonable prices. Dinner in a thunderstorm, you can trust their umbrella.

Loved our Easter dinner here. And really, we should have returned here tonight instead of shoddy Il Bacanale. We loved the ambience, the indoor charcoal grill (!), the wine, and the vibe. Service was ok, professional and courteous but not warm. Food was mostly good. The semolina gnocchi bathed in cheese and truffles blew my mind! The tagliatelle with meat sauce was ok, a tad too salty, but with complex flavors. The grilled pork ribs and sausages was great value and delicious. The carciofi was ok, the dessert not the best. BUT in balance, the ambience and correctly chosen dishes make up for the just "ok" bits. We might just come back tomorrow!

Genuinely cannot fault this place. Staff are welcoming & attentive, with service nicely paced. The food was excellent, started with meat & cheese board, which was a meal in itself. Had rabbit & ravioli as mains, tasty. Finished with light tiramisu & espresso. Would recommend & go back.

Yelp
Food was well prepared and delicious. For the price it was 100% better than the tourist places on the main streets. They charge a similar price for bread and meat sandwiches. We were the second couple to arrive after they opened, yet the waitress took other's orders before us and they received their food first. Several people were even finished before our food arrived. We didn't have a reservation but we arrived when there was only one table seated. We were not happy about the service, but would still highly recommend. Get a reservation if possible. Would have given 5 stars if we had better service.

Yelp
The most memorable meal of my life. Both my female companion and I have dined at Michelin Star restaurants, most recently at Osteria Mozza in Los Angeles. It was a wonderful experience, but it pales in comparison to our experience this evening at the Michelin Guide-mentioned Trattoria da Erminio. What I fail to understand is how a restaurant like Osteria Mozza has earned a single Michelin Star and Trattoria da Erminio isn't working on its third. I ordered simple food tonight; an Insalata Mista, a Gorgonzola and Walnut Fondue (that we shared), a simple Mushroom Pasta, a glass of the House Red Wine, and a piece of Grandmother's Cake. The Insalata Mista's radicchio and fennel were the freshest I've ever had. In fact, all of the ingredients in the salad were. The Gorgonzola and Walnut Fondue is (and I say this without reservation) the most delightful thing I have ever eaten... period. The Shoestring Mushroom Pasta was beyond delightful, and the Grandmother's cake was exquisite, superb actually. And the House Red Wine? Wow! The Cab Franc and Sangiovese Blend paired beautifully with all of my food. And it's interesting. While the atmosphere and interior decor are so enchanting, at Trattoria da Erminio. It's all about the food. An incredible amount of heart and love go into it. This restaurant is the perfect compliment to the town of St. Francis (the patron Saint of Animals) and should not be missed.
