Fantastic experience. Amazing pasta, soups and grill- local specialties. Make a reservation but don’t miss this place if you’re in Asissi. Extremely friendly staff. Dog friendly

Easily the best meal in Italy yet. Gnocchi with goose sauce followed by local recipe cod. You could go inside and watch your steak being grilled on the fire. If you are in Assisi just go, you won't regret it.

The grilled meat was supper. Better to call up to reserve table even during winter season.

Best restaurant I’ve eaten at so far during my 10 days of vacation. The food is delicious. My server was so kind! She helped me out in English since my Italian is limited. Great atmosphere! I had high expectations when I saw Rick Steves endorsed this restaurant and then read the wonderful reviews. My experience exceeded my expectations!

Lovely trattoria with truly excellent food, the antipasto of salumi & formaggi was of very good quality, as were the Strangozzi with wild asparagus and black truffle, the ricotta gnocchi and the braised veal cheek. Portions are definitely generous and the flavors are genuine and ver my well balanced. Service is kind and efficient, we enthusiastically recommend!

The restaurant was in a more quiet street which we really enjoyed. The staff was really nice and the food was amazing. We got their gnocchi which were great and the mixed grilled meat (veal,pork ribs and sausages, chicken). They also have off the menu plates which sounded really appetising.

Amazing home style Umbria food. While the service takes a bit of time, the food was unbelievably delicious. You can tell that quality regional ingredients are used to cook up the dishes here. Must try for me is the taglietelle with porcini, tomatoes and bacon. Recommended to book ahead or arrive early.

An absolutely gorgeous meal in a dreamy setting. A little off the beaten path which we loved, and recommended by our kind host. Would highly suggest getting the gnocchi and the chicken, which were both sensational.

Food was well prepared and delicious. For the price it was 100% better than the tourist places on the main streets. They charge a similar price for bread and meat sandwiches. We were the second couple to arrive after they opened, yet the waitress took other's orders before us and they received their food first. Several people were even finished before our food arrived. We didn't have a reservation but we arrived when there was only one table seated. We were not happy about the service, but would still highly recommend. Get a reservation if possible. Would have given 5 stars if we had better service.

The most memorable meal of my life. Both my female companion and I have dined at Michelin Star restaurants, most recently at Osteria Mozza in Los Angeles. It was a wonderful experience, but it pales in comparison to our experience this evening at the Michelin Guide-mentioned Trattoria da Erminio. What I fail to understand is how a restaurant like Osteria Mozza has earned a single Michelin Star and Trattoria da Erminio isn't working on its third. I ordered simple food tonight; an Insalata Mista, a Gorgonzola and Walnut Fondue (that we shared), a simple Mushroom Pasta, a glass of the House Red Wine, and a piece of Grandmother's Cake. The Insalata Mista's radicchio and fennel were the freshest I've ever had. In fact, all of the ingredients in the salad were. The Gorgonzola and Walnut Fondue is (and I say this without reservation) the most delightful thing I have ever eaten... period. The Shoestring Mushroom Pasta was beyond delightful, and the Grandmother's cake was exquisite, superb actually. And the House Red Wine? Wow! The Cab Franc and Sangiovese Blend paired beautifully with all of my food. And it's interesting. While the atmosphere and interior decor are so enchanting, at Trattoria da Erminio. It's all about the food. An incredible amount of heart and love go into it. This restaurant is the perfect compliment to the town of St. Francis (the patron Saint of Animals) and should not be missed.
