Trattoria Da Volpelli

As always we had an excellent dinner! Thank you Irena for the wonderful meal and Marco for the delicious truffle. Our go to restaurant when in Calzolaro. Definitely worth the drive when you’re visiting anywhere between Perugia and Sansepolcro.

We love this little restaurant. Food was simply great and the service was attentive. The price is also super reasonable. Strongly recommended for people in this area.

Everything is simply authentic. Truffles and mushrooms are their signatures. Well known for the duck dish (which needs to be preordered). Incredibly delicious. Ideal place if you have guests you would like to impress.

Tucked away on a quiet road running through a quiet village this family run trattoria is a gem and very good value. We started with crostini: wow a plate to share with 7 different varieties, all delicious. This was followed by black truffle gnocchi for me (they have a special black and white truffle winter menu!) and lamb cutlets for my wife along this the most delicious potato chips/wedges & spinach. All washed down with a superb (and great value) mature Valpolicella Ripasso. With the bill came a choice of their home made digestives, the green apple one is utterly delicious. Really good food.

I had a homemade gnocchi in a wine, cream and sausage sauce that was delicious. The lamb was super flavorful and we also tried the pasta with the red goose sauce- that was also very good! They are very reasonably priced and the staff was helpful and friendly.

A very warm welcome by all and the food is glorious! As mentioned by previous reviewers, if you want truffles then this is the place to go! The pasta is delicious, heck, it’s all delicious! I would highly recommend a visit and if you go, I’m sure you will return.
