"It’s highly likely you’ll need to put on your walking shoes to make it to Trattoria da’a Marisa, which is located at the very furthest western end of the quiet, neighborhood-y sestiere of Cannareggio. But the food is worth the trek: with no menu, you’ll be served up whatever is going that day as a three-course meal, from zingy fried fish to homemade tagliatelle to rich game stews. Particularly popular as a lunchtime spot for local students and workers—the price, even with wine and water, typically comes to under 20 euros per person—it’s Venetian home cooking at its most authentic." - Vogue
Local fixed menu restaurant that everyone should take the opportunity to experience. All locals and university conference goers hoping to get a seat for lunch, but our party of 21 had a long anticipated reservation. We are so glad we booked that lunch. The pasta was fresh and the sauces were exquisite. The meat options were varied and all were delicious.

Great local restaurant right next to the water. Away from the commotion at the city center. Was recommended to me by my local friend who lives in Venice. Food was amazing.

I have the fish menu. Everything is great. Food is delicious and the view is great. People are nice, too. I believe that price is also reasonable, compared to so many things that they offer.
My only complaint is that... please have a print-out of the menu. I didn't expect the fried fish was coming and I was so full!!! If the logistics is slightly better, the experience will be amazing. With that said, they did help me pack the fried fish so I guess I'll 5-star them anyway.

The second to seventh photo is only starters for 5 people. My family and my friends ordered fish fixed menu, it is 45€ for every person. Each of the starters were unique.
The octopus was soft with tomato sauce. The fish’s are cold but tasted fishy. Clams were quite good, and the tuna and mayonnaise were very good.
Then, we have fish lasagna. Cheesy and creamy. I had a lot of very delicious dishes.
recommended but not the best.

This casual hole-in-the-wall eatery is named for Madama Marisa, a well-known 1930s prostitute (and sporting some of her advertising as decoration). A tiny out-of-the-way spot simply serving antipasto then a limited spoken menu of pasta and secondi, finishing with whatever dolci they have. A true Venetian cheap eat, great value and a great experience!

Excellent course meal. Loved the freshness of the seafood and the surprise menu. Dishes were perfectly balanced in terms of flavour, texture and variety.
Thank you for making my trip to Venice a very memorable one :)
This definitely deserves a Michelin Bib Gourmand!!

Fresh seafoods was delicious. Seafood appetizers was excellent. As main courses, fish lasagna and seafood fries were amazing. We tried the mascarpone dessert, don't miss it either. For dinner a fixed menu was served respectively and the portions were extremely large. It was the freshest and most delicious seafood I have ever eaten. A very friendly family business..

This is a place for local construction workers to eat lunch.
At noon, the canal is filled with boats with workers.
The menu is set and not printed . Set price of 20 euros per person.
Monica tells you where to sit, tells you the daily choices, very rapidly, and expects you know what you want immediately.
Think soup Nazi from Seinfeld.
The food is good but nothing special, the service is rushed. Although an authentic no frills place I would not recommend it.
