16 Venice Restaurants for Bellinis, Ciccheti, and Seafood | Condé Nast Traveler

"In a no-frills, residential setting with washing strung between high apartment blocks and locals shouting greetings, I found Dai Tosi to be a classic neighborhood trattoria-pizzeria where kids can run up and down the uncrowded calle between courses. The menu pairs traditional Venetian trattoria dishes with a vast selection of pizzas—including plenty of vegetarian options. Note there are two similarly named locales nearby; this one is at number 738." - Anne Hanley

I visited here for lunch on my last day in Venice and so happy that I experienced this restaurant! on the very peaceful and beautiful street far away from centre and tourist area. and the food was humble and full of flavours and delicious! attentioned to details and really nice service as well!

We typically tried this trattoria on our last day in Venice. What a shame as it was brilliant. Seems to mainly have locals as guests. The food was all very affordable and tasted fantastic. We had a couple of traditional starters followed by the most amazing pizzas. The service threw us a little as the lady serving originated from England and this saved us from murdering the Italian language - she was wonderful and gave great insight. Would I go back? Yes, I wouldn’t want to miss this friendly secret.

Lovely little spot, family owned and operated, if you are staying in the area I highly recommend this restaurant. We had the pizza 2 nights in a row, the charcuterie &cheese board was also nice. The table next to us had the local white fish and she said it was also very good. The owner, Paulo, made us feel at home and spoke very good English. The house wine was also very good.

What can I say? I would love not to share my opinion, so this place will stay the hidden gem forever, but we do not visit that often, here I go! We’ve stayed in Venice 11 years ago and had dinner in this Trattoria every night. We came this week and we were happy to find the same amazing atmosphere of ‘local’ and ‘homey’ and ‘only for those who know:)’ But of course the most amazing is the great food - best pizza ever! Thank you, Marco! - great friendly service - thank you to all hard working people of this restaurant- and thank you Paulo for keeping this amazing place and making it even better! We had different pizzas every evening, tried all of their pastas, several of the side dishes and local wine and beer of course - everything was perfect!

Service was bad. Waiter only came outside once, had to stand in line to pay check. Menu didn’t have much options for pasta, seafood or anything you’d expect from a restaurant in Venice. Poor fish was bland, ragu had no flavor. Pizza had over hour wait. Cover charge was expensive. Not worth going here, go somewhere else with more options and better quality and service

On a recent visit to Venice, we stumbled upon this restaurant while exploring our neighborhood. We ended up drinking or eating there 3 times on our 5 day visit to Venice. The pasta, meat, pizza and seafood were all amazing. Desserts finished off the evening perfectly. The staff were warm, friendly and knowledgeable and no tourists were in sight, save for our group. When they learned it was my mother's 80th, they made her a special candle and celebrated with us. I highly recommend this place!

Gorgeous meal in a lovely setting away from the crowds. Owners were so accommodating and attentive and the food was the best we had on our trip!

The food is good and reasonably priced, but the menu is very limited. None of the staff speak English, and the menu is only in Italian, which makes it almost impossible to order anything unless you speak the language. I get that we’re in Italy, but most places still offer menus in other languages for tourists.Other than that everything else is good.
