Touristy place with wonderful view. We reserved a week before via phone call beginning of August and got a gorgeous table at the corner of a balcony. Everything was really nice, we had a nice server who helped us with our decisions about what to try. It was really nice of him to offer the half/half plate for the anchovies so we could try both (we thought lemon marinade was better) Only problem was that the end of our meal felt rushed. The waiter was being not so subtle (but in no means rude) about the fact we should “quickly” eat our dessert and go. I understand its a popular spot so they want to serve as many customers as possible. Just know that if you have a long evening in mind where you would like to spend a couple hours at the restaurant and relax over a bottle of wine, it will not be possible. But overall, good experience, friendly service and fresh food.

Google
A bit on the pricey side for value , but the seafood is just exceptional. You will need to make reservations most of the time so be prepared to see a lineup and be turned away even , they do speak English so you can easily call and book, just know that they take dinner reservations for two spots of 7 or 9 and nothing in between Was surprised to find there were no wine by the glass on menu as well but perhaps that's a fine dining thing here not sure.

This restaurant is in a lovely location, you get a stunning view if you get the right table ☺️ I highly recommend booking in advance though. It's a busy atmosphere but staff are lovely. The menu is 99% fish and the food we had was great (fries weren't good though). Overall, very fresh and the sharing starter was beautiful 👌🏼 I gave four stars as it was the priciest restaurant of our entire stay and we had similar dining experiences in several other restaurants in Cinque Terre, for about 20% less euros x

Google
I had a very enjoyable dinner here. I’ve been traveling Italy for a while now and I’d say this is probably the best “bang for your buck” meal I’ve had. Delicious fresh seafood that is reasonably priced. It’s not cheap but good value for the portion sizes, freshness and taste. The view is also lovely. Service was great too. I got the seafood taster entree and fried calamari and prawn mains with some grilled vegetables.

For American or Asian People, pasta and glasse of wine are wonderful. But honestly, the food is standard , classic. Nothing special. The pasta or fritto you can find the samedi qualité every where in 5 Terres area. The view and service are good. Nothing more.

Google
No doubt the best restaurant in Manarola! We made a reservation weeks before our visit and got the best seat with incredible views. We only ordered a seafood starter since we weren't too hungry, but we would definitely come back to try more from the menu. By the time we left, there was already a line, so be sure to make a reservation if you can!

We recently had dinner at Trattoria dal Billy in Manarola, and it was an incredible experience. First, I would highly recommend making a reservation if you plan to visit, as the restaurant is quite popular. We went without one and had to queue for a bit, but it was well worth the wait. The highlight of the meal was the homemade pasta with shrimps and seafood – fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The house wine complemented the meal beautifully, making the evening even more enjoyable. To top it off, we had their homemade tiramisu for dessert, and it was a true must-try – the perfect way to end a fantastic dinner. Overall, everything tasted amazing, and the atmosphere was charming. Highly recommended if you’re in the area!

The food is good but the Semi Freddo dessert is the one not to miss! We had the stuffed mussels and fish as we were not that hungry. The seafood pasta seems to be the popular dish but it looked huge!

Yelp
This restaurant is located up above the main town of Manarola, but it is worth the hike to get up there for the views and food. Tagliatelle with clams and salted fish eggs (€19) - Very tasty al dente pasta. Plentiful clams. The salted fish eggs acted as more of a salty seasoning. Stuffed mussels (€17) - I had personally not had this before, but it was pretty good, as it seemed they sort of breaded the mussels inside so that they were "stuffed". This is more of an appetizer than a main course though. Lemon cream with cherries in syrup (€8) - A bit too sweet for my liking, but still not bad at all. The cherry syrup was kind of sugary but the lemon cream was delicious. Note that when we came at 7pm, we were able to get one of the last available tables, but shortly thereafter, anyone else who came either was not able to get a table or had to wait in a line. As mentioned, the restaurant is up on one of the cliffs overlooking the town and water, so there are some great views, depending on which table you get (we got lucky). The staff were very friendly and the service speed was pretty fast. Overall, Trattoria dal Billy is a great choice for an Italian meal in Manarola if you don't mind a bit of a hike up - just try to get there no later than 7pm if you can to avoid any wait times.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant in Manarola. Great views of the water. Don't get too much of a sunset with the angle, but still very pleasant. Server was very polite. Spoke clear English (as did basically everyone there). Great house wine. We ordered the following: White wine mussels Pesto pasta Seafood red pasta Seared catch of the day tuna Everything was great. Pesto pasta could've been better (esp for the region) but all in all would recommend and return. Only waited 20 min for a table without a reservation

Yelp
The food was ok. We arrived late because of a train delay and just needed food. Not much was open but Trattoria dal Billy had a table for walk ins. It was pitch black so we couldn't enjoy the view we paid for but the servers were super friendly-- chatting in English and Italian as needed. We got bread with our pasta and ordered a bottle of water. Not bad. Not amazing. About on par for the food we had our whole trip to cinque terre.

Yelp
One of my all time favorite spots in Manarola! For appetizers, you must order the calamari. It's perfectly tender but with a crispy outside (without a ton of breading). For meals, truffle swordfish pasta and the fresh catch of the day are my favorites. And honestly, I like their house wine Service is perfect, with friendly staff and quick service. Their views are beautiful and this place books up so be sure to make a reservation!

Yelp
If you only eat at one place in Manarola, this is the place to go. Go ahead of time and make reservations for dinner around Sunset and you will not be disappointed. The view and the environment is amazing. The service is outstanding, and the food is absolutely delicious.

Yelp
If you can get in, GO GO GO! You'll be treated to an unbelievable view, delicious handmade pasta, good-natured service and a once-in-a-lifetime meal. It was one of my favorite overall (service, ambiance, food, etc.) meals in Italy. (:

Yelp
What a wonderful place overlooking the ocean, high on the hill at sunset. It was quaint and cute. The pasta was delicious. The server was very friendly and made us feel welcome! I would highly recommend this place for dinner.

Yelp
We were walking along the trails in Manarola and thought stopping for lunch at Billy's would give us the best views as the restaurant sits high on the hill of the town. It did not disappoint. We were seated at a terrace side table. As there are several tiers to this restaurant, there are many lovely views. I chose the tagliolini pomodoro. I was trying to find something a little smaller and lighter. Husband chose the fish of the day. Imagine our surprise when they brought a huge tray of gutted, raw, whole fish to us. You pick your fish from the platter. Only way it would have been fresher is if we hooked it on a line ourselves. The experience was rather fun. The grilled fish was excellent. Service was good. Really fun experience.

Yelp
Trattoria dal Billy is known for its views. We had a great view of the sea, town, and vineyards of Manarola. Prices are not bad. I ordered taglierini al pomodoro and it was fine, but now I regret not having a baked potato just to see what one would taste like in Italy. I recommend people come here for the view a little more than for the food. My friend noted that she had eaten better shrimp. We made a reservation the night before and we got a table inside at a window, but only one of us could see out the window. I recommend you make a reservation a few days in advance at least. Be sure to confirm your reservation: a couple who claimed to have made a reservation was turned away when their reservation was not found. I hope it wasn't a special occasion for them.

Yelp
Lucky to get a reservation the morning of. Book early if you can. We sat up top, really outside of the restaurant but happy to be there. Earlier booking will get you a table outside, but inside the restaurant with breathtaking views. We started with the tuna tartar and then shared the lobster pasta house special. The starter was refreshing, though a little undressed for my taste. We had high hopes for the house special lobster pasta. The dish was GIGANTIC. The picture does not do it justice as there was a lobster tail and 2 claws under all of that pasta. The lobster itself was delicious. The pasta, homemade, was a little heavy and thick, which overall made the dish feel heavy. I would not order it again on a return. We ordered the cheese to finish. It was not particularly interesting cheese, nor a beautiful presentation. Our mistake. Service was friendly and attentive. Would I go to Billy's again? Yes. But I would book a better table earlier and try some different dishes.

Yelp
Trattoria dal Billy was a solid restaurant that touts beautiful views of Cinque Terra but depends on where you get seated. Arguably one of the most beautiful sunset spots in Cinque Terra is Manarola from Punta Bonfiglio. The way the sunsets highlights the bright beautiful colors of the village is undeniable. Therefore, prior to one of these amazing sunsets we decided to have dinner at one of the best reviewed restaurants in Manarola, Trattoria dal Billy. It is quite a small space that basically has tiers off the side of a cliff. With the limited space, I would recommend calling ahead to make a reservation. (Having a concierge service with a credit card would be preferable!) After having a pretty heavy lunch, we decided we would go a little light ordering three dishes to share: the tagliolini dal billy, stuffed mussels, and tiramisu. Tagliolini dal billy - The restaurant's signature pasta dish that is a tomato based with shellfish. It was the perfect tanginess with a bit of spice from the peppers and shellfish that made for a solid pasta dish. Stuffed Mussels - Mussels filled with a stuffing that was a little bland that pretty much got most of its flavor from the tomato broth it was cooked in. I would probably pass on these. Tiramisu - simple but well executed. the mascarpone cream was well whipped to a fluffy texture that was just slightly sweet with just enough punch of coffee flavors to provide that needed bitterness. The service was pretty attentive. People talk about the nice view from this restaurant but the sun does seem to hit in the direction of the restaurant so it can be distracting for awhile. I would probably instead recommend eating dinner early to catch the sunset at Punta Bonfiglio which is about a ten minute walk. Overall, I would recommend Trattoria dal Billy as a dinner spot in Manarola but no need to book here for the views!

Yelp
Our Airbnb host told us that if we had to pick one place to eat in all of Cinque Terre, this was the place to choose. Tucked away up high in Manarola (many stairs to get there!), this restaurant is known for its delicious food and beautiful view. We got there after sunset so weren't able to catch the views. There was a line when we got there. The owner was very busy with phone calls and checking in with the kitchen, but he took the time to give everyone a glass wine and an appetizer while we waited (which honestly wasn't very long for what I was expecting!). The service was great, and they were very understanding when my sister and I wanted to split an entree rather than get two (so glad we did because I wouldn't have been able to finish my own!). We got the Trofie Pesto and were pleased with how it turned out. We also got tiramisu to share, and it honestly was the best tiramisu I have ever had. I'm grateful for the recommendation and would definitely return here in the future!

Yelp
Wow! We had oysters, catch of the day with truffles, sea bass and grilled vegetables. Everything was cooked to perfection, wait staff was great and the view from the restaurant was spectacular. Be sure to get a reservation and be prepared for a hike up many steps to get there. One note: Wayfinding signs are non-existent so be prepared for a treck to get there there as Google directions are hard to follow.

Yelp
Stumbled across this little gem of a hillside restaurant after hiking over from Riomaggiore. Beautiful setting, delicious pasta with fresh pesto, and a delicious house white wine. A definite food highlight of our trip to hike the Cinque Terre.

Yelp
We had an unfortunate experience at Trattoria dal Billy. It's disappointing since my family has been going here for years, and they were very excited for our dinner here. The actual dinner and view was good, though the service we received there was hostile from them start. They asked what we wanted to eat within 3 minutes of sitting down and multiple times there after within the first 7 minutes. We were respectful and tried to make the most of it. But we left sunglasses there and called within 15 minutes of departing. The person who answered the phone said it was Walmart and hung up 3 times. On the 4th try, we finally got somewhere and they found the sunglasses. He said he had the sunglasses in his hand. Then, he said my voice was sweet and he'll "remember my sweet voice and that they would be in his room". He wanted me to come get the sunglasses and come to his room he repeated. It was creepy, rude, and completely uncalled for. I'm in the service industry in a tourist area of America, so I understand the stresses and work fatigue of dealing with tourists, but this was unacceptable and completely uncalled for. I asked for management so I didn't have to resort to an online post, as I never do this. But the entire experience made me feel icky and disrespected. I hope this reached the appropriate party as we lost a $300 pair of sunglasses, spent $150 on dinner, and had the worst dining experience and hospitality I've ever experienced. I'm in awe that this actually happened and this should never happen to anyone. Especially kind, respectful tenants of their restaurant looking to have a nice meal with a loved one. Again, the food was good, but this was an unacceptable experience! It's a shame.

Yelp
Came here for dinner bc we read the food is amazing and the sunset is even more gorgeous. Unfortunately we missed the sunset. But I can only imagine how beautiful it would be with the mountains in the background. To find this place is a mission. We used apple map. Google map. And Waze. And still got lost. So ask around. It will be a lot of steps or a very steep hill up. And a mission. But take the stairs on the right passed the church and keep going. You will find it. Eventually Our servers were very nice. They gave us the recommendations we ordered. We didn't get any bread. Unsure if we had to request it but we didn't get any. They kind of come and go and even when you ask for something. You have to ask again. Hopefully you get it. We didn't ask for bread. We started with the special. Tuna tartar. It was very fresh but on the bland side. Paired w pomegranates and slivers of maybe lettuce and carrot. It was ok. Just. Ok My bf ordered the beef filet which I tried and it was delish. He didn't care for all the peppercorns but the meat was fantastic. Perfectly cooked. My friend and I shared PASTA NERA AI FRUTTI DI MARE. The pasta was great flavors but there was a lot of shells and not a lot of meat. We had a few broken shells in our pasta so that made for quite an unpleasant and crunchy meal. I'd NOT get this again and go with maybe just shrimp pasta. Someone else had it and it looked amazing. We also had vegetables and potatoes on the side which were tasty. For dessert we got tiramisu (I didn't care for this one) and a lemon gelato (amazing). This is a cute hidden place to see the sunset but if you're not coming for the sunset, don't go through the hassle of dining here.

Yelp
Multiple blogs I read said Trattoria dal Billy was the best restaurant in Cinque Terre. I didn't think it was amazing, but it was good. My husband wasn't as impressed though. We had their selection of seafood starter. €20 per order with a minimum of 2 orders included 12 small plates. Some really unique and delicious combinations and preparations with seafood. Some a bit too salty or fishy for my liking. I had their tagliolini alla Billy for my main. Nothing special, but loved the addition of pine nuts.

Yelp
Best food, location and service!!! We were 20 mins late for our reservation (missed a train and all) but the folks were so nice to accommodate us. The fish is no doubt fresh, caught everyday and really well cooked!!! The pasta was also handmade with fresh housemade pesto and you could taste its freshness. Amazing food!!!

Ling C.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the spaghetti with seafood. The view from the restaurant is stunning. The staff were very nice. However, for some dishes they require ordering at least two portions. It was not very clear when they communicated this rule.
google avatar

Yelp
Food done well on a casual atmosphere with stunning views. Make sure to ask for a table outside close to the railing for best view. Great for romantic dinners. Service was efficient, knowledgeable, and somewhat gruff.

Yelp
After being out exploring the five cities of Cinque Terre, we wanted a late night bite before heading to bed. One of the few restaurants on Manarola open til 10 pm. Had to wait a few minutes to be seated as it was pretty busy. The restaurant rests cliff side across multiple floors and we were seated with a nice view into the night sky. During the day I imagine seeing the beautiful hilly terrain. Trattoria dal Billy is known for their seafood but we'd had a lot that day so opted for Trofie Pesto and a pasta with Billy's signature sauce (red-based with seafood). Honestly a bit disappointing. Perhaps because we didn't order their more signature seafood dishes but their pesto dish was bland and needed more pesto and their seafood-based red sauce was okay. Found cheaper eats across the cities for better imo.

Jenny O.

Yelp
Service was great!! Food was fresh and delicious!!!! I would definitely recommend trying the grilled calamari

Yelp
I wished I could have loved this place because the restaurant has an amazing view, and it was quite a trek to get to... but the food was just mediocre. Started with the sampler-- this was the best part of the meal. A bunch of little bites to try, some of them being pretty tasty. What really disappointed me was the tuna tartare, the tuna entree, and the pesto pasta. -The tuna tartare was very warm (and I'm pretty sure that was what caused me to have food poisoning the next day) -The tuna entree was overcooked and didn't have much taste to it other than a bit of salt -The pesto pasta was very bland Service was very slow, even for Europe standards, lol. Waited over 40 minutes after we finished the sampler before we got the tuna tartare (probably was just sitting there getting warm and spoiling). Server were very friendly though.

J L.

Yelp
Our favorite restaurant in cinque terre. Wonderful wait staff. Beautiful cliff side views with the sunset. The dishes including the octopus, salad, sword fish pasta, and frutti di mare squid ink pasta and desserts were all delicious. The seafood pasta was absolutely memorable as I felt I tasted all the best parts of the ocean in that dish that I miraculously finished.
google avatar

Formicas F.

Yelp
Fantastic views on the hillside made this place a dream. Anybody who can should eat here- the hike is well worth it. We had their pasta in various varieties and all were good- as was the bottle of local white they recommended. But make sure you get a terrace view overlooking the town!!!

Nicholas S.

Yelp
This place was fantastic! It's sort of set up with little terraces stepped into the hillside, the way everything else is in Cinque Terre. It has amazing views, my wife and I had dinner while watching the sunset. The service was top-notch. We had anchovies two ways, which were great and a tomato salad, which was also great. For dinner I had a homemade pasta with seafood, and my wife had homemade pasta with a spicy red sauce. Both were out of this world. We topped it off with a tiramisu which was also great. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you're staying in Manola as we did.

Yelp
Everything about this place is fantastic!!! If you are looking for excellent seafood, great service, and wonderful views. This is the place.

Yelp
Here's my issue with restaurants that have jaw-dropping views, the price of that view is included in the food. Now when you don't have that view, such as if you don't reserve early enough or you're eating dinner when it's pitch black out, then you'd at least expect the food to be stellar, otherwise, you'd feel cheated out. Well, I felt cheated out. I saw the views that everyone was posting on their reviews, and they are gorgeous. But I'm here to talk about the food. I got the mixed sea food appetizer which is about 10-12 different plates of small portions. This is a fantastic option if you are with another person. Great price, although the food itself was ok. Not bad, not delicious, just ok. All in all, I only enjoyed 3 out of the 11 dishes. For the main, I split the mixed seafood pasta. The pasta itself was well cooked but the proteins were underwhelming. There was one shrimp and a handful of other small seafood. Some of the mussel and clam shells weren't even open. The crawfish was so tiny and overcooked that it shredded from trying to get the meat. Now the taste is, again, ok. Nothing that I would come back for. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful with suggestions. Who knows, maybe the view makes food taste better?

Jackson A.

Yelp
The food is not good. I would not go here again or recommend. Went here with the family at the recommendation of our host and Rick Steves but was disappointed with the food quality. Some dishes were okay, others we only took one bite. I was disappointed because this place get hype in the area, reservations are tough, but I don't think worth it. I've Great food in Italy is easy to find, there are better options to this place in Manrola. On a positive note I will say the view is great (so are all the views in this place) and the service was acceptable.
google avatar

Victor H.

Yelp
I definitely need to come back here during the daytime or for the sunset! On several websites, I have heard about this restaurant and the great seating for sunset. We came here after we had already enjoyed the sunset at Neesun Dorma, so it was already pretty dark outside when we went to eat dinner. Definitely try to make a reservation before coming here, especially during prime hours in high tourism season (summer). I got the fried calamari and prawns dish which was perfectly cooked! It was lightly breaded and preserved the taste of the seafood. Also, be aware that you will have to travel at least 15 minutes uphill to get to the restaurant.

Yelp
We two had dinner on the edge of the lower terrace. The view from the terrace is worth a star. AMBIANCE: 4.5 with terrace table. 3.0 interior. SERVICE: 4.5. Server was attentive and prompt, despite the crowd. System for assigning tables seems very fair. We made reservations weeks in advance, requesting a terrace table - and were assigned one of the better tables on the edge of the lower terrace. FOOD: 3.5. Was fine, no "wow's". - Tuna tartare appetizer (one of the day's specials): 4.5. Served with bits of melon and fig. - Lobster pasta (for 2) (one of the day's specials): 3.0. Would order differently if had a do-over. Main merit was volume of pasta - we didn't eat it all. - Dessert - dark chocolate cake: 3.5. Chocolate was rich without being too sweet. - Espresso: 4.5. Excellent

Yelp
I was really looking forward to this restaurant since it was based off a local's suggestion, but I just didn't feel it lived up to the hype. Rather small restaurant that was cramped inside (very few tables outside with a view) but was conveniently located next to our hotel. The hike up the mountain to get here is difficult, and it is a little hard to find, even with GPS. We ordered the 12 seafood sampler for an appetizer- a solid sample of several types of fish, none of which stuck out to my spouse and I as anything special. Not "bad", just not memorable. For dinner we had the lobster pappardelle pasta. Both the lobster and pasta were cooked and seasoned perfectly- I think it would've been a better dish if the lobster was cooked separately from the pasta (possibly less tiny shells in it). Not sure I would return here- but if I did, I would definitely get the lobster (or crab) papardelle again.

Yelp
Be sure to call ahead and make reservations as this restaurant fills up fast. Waiting isn't horrible... while we were in line to get in for our reservation, the staff poured us glasses of prosecco. :) A MUST: get the antipasti dish that is a taster of about 12 different things. Most of them tasted fantastic and even the ones you don't like, you only have a bite or two of them. This is a great way to sample the local cuisine. The lobster pasta, one of their signature dishes, was disappointing - super salty and unflavorful - though the lobster was cooked well. They have some tables with a view and some inside. We sat on the lower level outside, which had a nice view of the water but soon grew dark with just a pitch black view. While the entree was not the best, the antipasti and the panna cotta dessert were standouts.

Rachel R.

Yelp
The best meal I've had in my life! My boyfriend and I came here on our trip to Cinque Terre and had the most incredible time. We had various seafood pastas that were cooked to perfection paired with the most beautiful view. Pictures could not capture how beautiful the scenery was. I dream of the day I can return here.

Yelp
LOVED the food here, especially the fresh anchovies marinated in lemon. Absolutely delicious!!!!

Yelp
We visited Cinque Terre in November when most of the restaurants were unfortunately closed for the season. After a loooooonnnnnng hike up what felt like a million stairs to get to our hotel, we were happy to find that Dal Billy was just steps away from our hotel and didn't require us to go up and down more stairs. We were seated right away. The waiters were all very friendly and gave us a few suggestions. + Tuna Carpaccio - 10/10 - this was a fresh, light change from all the heavy carbs we had been eating during the trip. The fish was very fresh. + Seafood Pasta - 10/10 - the sauce in this was SO GOOD! The pasta was full of delicious seafood. + Ahi Tuna Steak - 7.5/10 - I wish this came with a sauce of sorts. It felt a little bland but was cooked perfectly. + Grilled King Prawns - 8/10 - my fiancé enjoyed this a lot. + Pana Cotta - 10/10 - AMAZING!!! I'm not a big berry person but the sauce was delicious!! Seriously do yourself a favor and get this! + Tiramisu - 8/10 - the texture of this was more like airy whipped cream and less creamy than cream. Overall we REALLY enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant. The staff were very warm and friendly. The food was delicious.

Yelp
By far the best place to have lunch or dinner. Quality is superbe and the view is breathtaking.

Yelp
Great restaurant. We had a pasta with lobster. It was delicious. Service was great. Views were amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed everything.

Yelp
Excellent homemade pasta and loved the special red tagliatelle w lobster. Wish we had an outside table but grateful hotel got us 7 pm seating less than 24 hours. Half bottle of local cinque terre white wine very nice.

Yelp
Trattoria dal Billy is among the select few establishments that deals in the business of transcendent experiences. Matching the sheer beauty of Cinque Terra in fine cuisine is the definition of a tall order. Most of their tables overlook the breathtaking municipality of Manarola, and the seafood I had there was among the best I've ever had. We had the mussels in garlic and parsley to start, and the mixed grilled seafood as our main, and never have I had something that is altogether as primal as it is classy. Our server was a gem, and I could not recommend this place more.

Yelp
Reservations are a must! We stopped by on a Friday and were able to secure reservations at 915pm the next day. Come Saturday, it was storming! We initially were supposed to be seated outside where there was limited overhead protection, but the server sensed our disappointment and switched our table with one downstairs on their covered patio (sorry, poor saps who arrived later than us and were seated at that original table). We ordered the appetizer sampler for 2 and the squid ink pasta for 2. We were about to order another main or two and the server said "not today"...implying we ordered enough already. We appreciated after the fact, when more than half of our pasta was left untouched. Get the sampler! It was a really good way to try out a lot of different seafood in preparations I would never have imagined (ie. fish with cherries?). I wish they would have a little printed menu of this so you would know what you're eating because they go over it really fast when they serve it and that's it. Pass on the squid ink pasta. You're forced to order it for 2 people (this dish was HUGE), and it was nothing to write home about. In retrospect, we wished we would have ordered a couple of fresh local seafood mains to share. It was dark and stormy so we did not enjoy any sort of view. Our server was funny and attentive. We would definitely come again, but would change up our ordering a bit.

Yelp
We had an amazing dinner here. We got the mixed fish starter, which was incredible -- 12 small plates with different types of seafood, for 16 euros per person. (In the US, I can't imagine that this would've been less than $50, at a minimum.) That was followed by the pasta with clams and bottarga, and a special pasta with swordfish and truffles, both of which we loved, although we were already somewhat full from the appetizer, and the pasta portions were huge. Overall, a great experience -- you definitely get more than your money's worth, both in terms of quality and volume. One other thing -- make sure to leave for the restaurant early, as it's not particularly easy to find, and is a somewhat lengthy walk from the town center.

Yelp
Had dinner here mid-july Tuesday evening, generally speaking Cinque Terre was packed. We called for reservations 3-4 pm day of, and were offered inside table at 7pm. I felt like we were very lucky to be seated on the terrace in lieu......phenomenal view! Repeat phenom vista! Be sure to book a table in advance this place is popular as it is super affordable.. We had a bottle of house white wine, a bottle of fizzy H2O, the mussle appetizer, day special (taglitell/swordfish, topped with shaved truffle), pesto pasta, grilled prawns, side of grilled vegetables, and lemon cello. Every dish was minimum 7 out of 10. We were OTD at €88. We could have gotten sparkling water and the two pasta dishes for less than half and been very satisfied, but......you know...you can't take it with you... just ask all the dead Egyptians..... The Server was very attentive, great sense of humor, brought hand towelettes after mussle dish, offered lite friendly jovial demeanor throughout. Note they offer 5pm 7pm and 9pm seatings. So during busy times, if you have the earlier reservation you must be finished to allow for the next party. My regret not taking photos to share....srry yelpers it looked so good....I forgot. Great spot I recommend! Cheers!

Yelp
my wife and I stayed in Manarola for four days and our apartment was about ten steps from Billy. After our hose told us that Billy was one of, if not the best restaurant in Cinque Terre, we had to go. Had dinner there twice and both times were amazing. I had the seafood pasta the first night and it was incredible. Delicious sauce and a very generous serving of clams, mussels, shrimp, crawfish and fish. The second night, I had the spaghetti Billy which was a spaghetti with shrimp and a fresh tomato and pepper sauce that was amazing. My wife had the mixed fried seafood plate one night and it was fantastic. Very lightly fried and very well seasoned. The second night my wife had the pesto which was good but not as good as any of the seafood dishes we ordered. And the service was great. Very friendly and attentive. Loved this place.

Yelp
Great spot! It was busy for us so definitely try and call ahead or get there early for seats outside for the best view. Sitting inside with windows was still great and the food was awesome. Definitely suggest any meal with the homemade noodles--those are incredible. Our favorites meals were the pasta with red sauce if you're feeling simple (get some bread and olive oil to go with it) as well as the house pasta dish (Taglerini freschi alla Billy).

Yelp
Really difficult to find, but worth it, including the sweat from hiking up the small hill. Best seats are in the top portion of the restaurant next to the windows, with an unobstructed view of the water. Patio seating was a bit stuffy, and the railing was a little high to truly enjoy the stunning scenery. We had to try to trofie with pesto, potato and green bean of course (typical ligurian pasta dish of the region) which was tasty and fresh. However my favorites dishes were the anchovies marinated in lemon (so good!!!! Especially if you enjoy saltier fish such as mackerel and getting) and the mussels (I ordered the marinara mussels but they came out with a white wine sauce instead which was delicious). I didn't enjoy my tomato-based pasta with shrimp as much (it was named after the restaurant so I figured it would be a signature dish, but was pretty unmemorable.) People at the other tables had ordered the whole grilled fish with potatoes and were raving about it, so I would also probably choose that if I went back and wanted more seafood.

Yelp
Amazing little restaurant perched way atop beautiful Cinque Terra. Bring your walking shoes though. You won't have a better view anywhere in the world in my opinion than at Trattoria dal Billy.
