All pasta is classic and delicious! Must try the fried bread. We had the best truffle spaghetti here. Cozy environment. Really good food served.

Oh my god, I must be in heaven. Hidden gem in backstreets of Parma. A definite must visit. Fantastic food, fantastic ambiance, fantastic service. Ordered artichokes in olive oil as starter, delicious; continued with a local Vine Nabucco 2018, wow, moved on with pasta with black truffles wow+wow; grande finale with panna cotta. Lovely. Price-Quality balance is one of the best amongst hundreds of restaurants I have dined over 40 countries including many Michelin stars. Thank you Trattoria al Tribunale ! Enjoy !

Food? Absolutely delicious — Parma’s pride on a plate. Service? Let’s say it was… minimalist. After 30 minutes of interpretive waiting, someone finally approached to take my order. A bottle of water was placed on the table — unopened, naturally — gently suggesting I take matters into my own hands. For these prices, I expected at least a little attention. The Lambrusco? A solid 3/5 — drinkable, but nothing to write home about. The risotto arrived 45 minutes later: a generous mound of rice topped with a single slice of Parmigiano, slowly melting in the center. Simple, tasty, and traditionally styled. But my wine glass sat empty for the rest of the meal — not a glance, not a question, just peaceful neglect. And when I finally asked for the bill, I was invited to walk up and pay at the counter myself — a fitting finale to a fully self-guided dining experience. If a restaurant expects you to spend €40+ without wine, one might quietly hope for a touch more hospitality to come included. Would I return? Perhaps. But next time, I’ll be looking for a place where the warmth isn’t limited to what’s on the plate. And if you’re coming here for a date… bring someone extremely patient — or just bring a book.

Google
A good business friend brought me to this fabulous house of authentic delicious local Parma cuisine. The antipasta, local pasta and osso buco were to "lick thumbs and fingers" as we say in Flemish. Portions are generous so I had to refuse a dessert. The restaurant breathes tradition, service is excellent and they have a large terrace. And they are located in the heart of the city. This restaurant will be on top of my wish list next time I will be in Parma.

Google
Absolutely magnificent food and service. The staff are diligent and attentive. They even go above and beyond when it comes to thinking what the table needs without asking as we were graced with fresh grated Parmesan at random and it was a delight. The food looks and tastes amazing as well.

Google
A very good place to enjoy authentic cuisine in Parma. You will not leave disappointed!

Google
This trattoria in Parma exceeded our expectations! The food was delicious, with authentic flavors and perfect portions. The service was incredibly kind and efficient, making us feel welcome. Unlike many other places in Parma, they prioritized customer satisfaction—despite being busy, they kindly asked us to wait and seated us within 15 minutes. Highly recommended!

Google
The food is decent but the service.... all the waiters looked unhappy to be there. Also the bread looked good but was terrible.

Yelp
This is our third or fourth time eating here over the past 8 years. The food is phenomenal. I highly recommend the prosciutto and Parmesan reggiano appetizer plates. And the fried dough!! However, the service was significantly lacking this visit. They were rude, inattentive. We asked to sit outside and he said inside was better. So we said we'd prefer outside (as we've always done) and he rolled his eyes and walked inside. So we followed him inside and got a table. The appetizers took over an hour. The server never came back to check on us. We never even moved onto ordering entrees. And I'm annoyed because I thoroughly enjoyed the pumpkin raviolis in the past. I wanted them again. It was a great place to stop while strolling the cobblestone streets of Parma. I recommend the food but not the service or atmosphere anymore.

Yelp
This is a very good restaurant for those seeking a Parma cuisine experience. Of course, eating chunks of parmigiano reggiano cheese is a must.
google avatar

Yelp
The prosciutto, Parmagianno reggiano and fried bread were amazing. The in house tortellini were on point too. Nice outside ambience and cold AC inside for warm days.

Yelp
Solid entry into Parma's food scene. Not the best versions of dishes but very satisfying and fair prices. I enjoyed the funghi best out of the triple ravioli. the ossobuco was very tender over a ho hum risotto. The endive artichoke was a wonderful side. Healthy portions in a tavern like atmosphere. A little off the main pedestrian way adds to the charm.

Yelp
Missed the mark tonight. My wife ordered steak, I ordered a primi and a secondi and they brought everything we ordered for all 5 people in 8 min after ordering. Food was obviously prepared ahead of time. Steak was not rare as ordered but well done, food had been on the plate a while and they forgot the spinach 3 times. The pumpkin ravioli were good.

Yelp
Every bite absolutely delicious! Six in our party. We started with a Lambrusco paired with prosciutto, parmesan and Fried dough, Fabulous! Recommend the gnocchi pesto, risotto parmigiania, melanzane.

Yelp
A modest restaurant. There were many other more picturesque places with better settings. Trattoria del Tribunale is on a little walking only alley with dirty floors, but cute covered tables outside...and a traditional dark wood and painted white inside with cloth tablecloths. The service is nice, and humbly speaks enough English to communicate (way better than my horrific Italian). The menu has a wonderful selection of meats and cheeses, pastas, and pizzas. Lost the lovin' feeling for pastas and pizzas: ================================= On day 3 of the trip, I needed a break from constant bread, pastas, and pizzas and wanted to something non-carby. Eggplant Parmigiana [10 euros, 4.0 stars] got the nod (I am in Parma, get it?). The eggplant was sliced thin, had good cheese (especially with my heavy dose of parm on top), and a really delicious sauce. Really good, but far from special. The gf got the winner: ================= Tagliatelle with Culatello [10 euros, 5 stars] -- Culatello is most similar to Prosciutto and in the ham family. A slice on the side of the plate, small slivers were mixed with fresh tagliatelle and an amazing cream sauce. 100% out of this world! Overall: ======= The gf was in total heaven, and with my few bites and filled with envy, her dish is worth coming back for.

Yelp
We have been in Rome and Modena for a week. It took a day trip to Parma to find our best meal for lunch. Pasta, beef cheeks and OssoBuco were outstanding as well as the service. Worth the trip by itself.

Yelp
Foods arrived after 3 minutes after we ordered, seems like they reheat the food and serve, taste was not fresh. I ordered risotto al lambrusco which was not okay. My wife ordered Ravioli and they were much better.Water glass was smelling like egg, they need to be kept in bleach which they have not. Not a fan of this restaurant.

Yelp
We had a wonderful dinner at this surprisingly large restaurant, sitting outdoors in the narrow street with cars, bikes, and people magically making their way through all night. Trattoria del Tribunale is a great starting point for your Parma eating adventures, and you'll find it's recommended by Yelp, the Internet, your AirBnB Host, and everyone in between. With quality renderings of just about any Parma specialty, it's a great initiation into the region's culinary traditions. Of course, you have to start with the cold cuts. I went straight for the Culatello, but they've got it all: Prosciutto di Parma, Coppa piacentina, Salame di Felino, Mortadella. Or get a mixer. And of course some Parmigiano-Reggiano. Do yourself a favor and order the Arthichoke (Romano) style. Fantastic. From there you have a number of options. I chose to make my ravioli stand here with the sampler: fillings of cheese, pumpkin, and spinach. Very good. For dessert, I tried the Sbrisolona (Italian almong crumble cake). Pretty good. House wine was cheap and plentiful, and they had a good bottle list, too. Value is off the charts. Can't go wrong with this place.

Yelp
Wonderful atmosphere, excellent food for foodies, and a very good wine menu. Try their fried bread pillows with Parm! OMG!! Outstanding!

Yelp
Very cute trattoria on a tiny side street. We had amazing Lambrusco wine, and moscatelo wine (dessert wine, really delicious). Started with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese (a huge plate for 8 euros) and some ravioli and tagliatelle and the Osso Buco. Really nice and delicious

Yelp
Such a cute place! Saw this as a place to eat at so I checked it out. It's in a small alley which is nice cuz it wasn't super busy and crowded. The outdoor seating was super cute. The service was nice, they didn't push you to try and eat there. The server could have been nicer but he was just all business and not very friendly. He did get the job done though. The food was so delicious! Fresh pasta and Parma ham cannot be beat. Same goes for the cheese! I wasn't super pleased with the service but if you want good food for a decent price, this is the place to get it!

Yelp
Really good food in the center of Parma. I read the positive reviews of this place on Yelp, so of course I had to try it out. It is a largish restaurant, so we were able to walk right up and get a table without reservations. We started with the parma ham and a mixed cheese plate. That was definitely too much antipasti for two people. I wish there was a way to order a half portion so that I could sample more things! We then shared the mixed tortelli. I liked them all, my husband didn't love the fillings, finding the pumpkin too sweet and everything else too much filling compared to pasta. I had the ossobucco, and it was excellent. The veal was so tender and perfect. The accompanying risotto was forgettable. My husband had the veal cheeks over mashed potatoes, and his dish was completely excellent. The wine list was excellent. Service can be a bit slow, but it's Italy! If the weather is nice and you're outdoors, it's not so bad to have a slow meal.

Yelp
A nice, classic trattoria that serves you the regional cuisine in a cozy setting. Very friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere.

Yelp
We came here pretty close to the 3pm cut, but they graciously seated us inside. The wine was delicious (we asked for house white -- too hot for the red), and we started off with the prosciutto e melone. OH. MY. GOODNESS, was that life-changing! Whereas I'd spent the previous nights wrinkling my nose at the very idea, prosciutto and cantaloupe is incredible! Crazy soft prosciutto, perfectly-chilled sweet, sweet melon. WOW. (Add points for the generous quantity!) When we received our plates, we realized that although my husband accurately had stuffed veal, my pumpkin risotto had become Parmesan risotto. The sweet, sweet waiter agreed gallantly to take it back to the kitchen, and so I ate some of my husband's veal. Texture = about medium well done, so nothing incredible, and the "stuffed" of it was a slab of cheese, of course, but the flavor is a solid 8/10 stars. Really, the winner of the dish were the roasted potatoes, like HOW do you make something that delicious? Anyhow, my risotto came back, and our speculation is that the kitchen folk did what anyone else would have done in their case (especially considering how close the kitchen was to closing), and instead of making a new dish, they added pumpkin puree to the already cheesy dish. If someone loved wallowing in Parmesan, this would have been perfect. Unfortunately, it was so very Parmesan-heavy that we had to leave it half-finished. Sad. I'm sure the pumpkin risotto would have been delicious.

Yelp
We experienced the usual problems involving our inability to speak Italian but otherwise enjoyed this meal. I ordered the Tortelli de Zucca as a starter, there was something that tasted like almond in pumpkin mix inside fresh pasta. I tasted my friend's Tortelli de ricotta e spalle cotta because it was served to me by accident, also very good. The homemade pasta made these dishes more exceptional. I tried the veal with tuna sauce because I had seen the dish in cookbooks. It wasn't my style but it was made correctly, I wanted to put it on a piece of bread and eat it like a tuna sandwich. Another person had the Lasagne all'emiliana, a local version of lasagna with spinach pasta that she said was very good.

Yelp
Despite the charming location in a medieval alley in the old center of Parma, I have some slight reservations on my dinner experience here recently. The service was prompt and wine selection truly excellent with several hidden gem Parma local wines represented. I ordered the very reasonably priced Ariola Barbian (hills of Parma) red blend. My family skipped appetizers since there was some nice table bread provided and we weren't that hungry. My main dish was the sliced steak and veg. This would be a 4 star review if the steak wasn't unevenly cooked. I recommend staying with a medium on their red meats. That being said, service was pretty good and they have a great wine selection - I just need the food quality to match.

Yelp
Our meal was exactly what you hope to have when you visit Italy. The pasta is fresh made, prosciutto as amazing as it should be in Parma. We enjoyed the artichoke and caprese salad as well. Excellent.
google avatar

Joel D.

Yelp
A lovely local find. Also a great value for your money. I had the risotto Giuseppe Verdi with asparagus and culatello - divine! Then the veal cheek in a sweet wine sauce with mashed potatoes. It melts in your mouth leaving you wanting more. And, even the house wine was very nice. Definitely work this into your list of most try places.

Yelp
Food is just ok. Overpriced for the quality served. Too touristic, it's losing its originality. Too much time to wait for a table: they have no idea how to managed the waiting list. Staff not nice with clients: they are in a hurry and just wanna get more people as possible.

Yelp
Parma! Trattoria Del Tribunale is a Michelin rated restaurant that we dined at for lunch, can't wait to go back for dinner. This is a Family owed, huge restaurant with a comfy vintage feel. Sat down after a short 20 minute wait watching waiters make espresso and freshly sliced meats and desserts. I knew we were in for a treat. We had the artichoke to start and light and very flavorful. Followed by Parma minestrone (not what you'd get elsewhere, brothy and filled w fresh vegetables.) Next, lasagna made w spinach noodles, and a light ricotta sauce. Followed that up with mixed ravioli plate, including, pumpkin, spinach and cheese, one was better than next. To finish I had the veal cheek. Tender, bursting w flavor and making me wish I had a second meal there. Unique to Parma we tried the sparkling red wine, so good. Oh, only 7 euro for full bottle. I m wondering why I hadn't bought more and how it was possible. Oh Parma, how I should have spent so much more time in this city. Another place you can miss if close.

Yelp
WHAT! A! PLACE! One of the very best food I had in Italy. Ever. The terrace is "disconnected" from the main restaurant, but who cares, because it is in a calm street and the staff is as friendly and professional as possible. The panne fritto excellent, their ravioli good and their freshly cut ham as good as it gets. But their asparagus flan! Their ASPARAGUS FLAN! It melted in a smooth and flavourful heaven. I could have it daily. I also found their maltagliati speck e spinaci to be particularly good. In the end, it is just traditional italian cuisine as it should always be served. But it is Italian cuisine ;)

Yelp
Me and my family ate here after recommendations from friends. When we arrived we where welcomed professionally but with very little emotion involved. We had a great meal. The food tasted excellent and while the staff was very professional it lacked a certain personal touch. They didn't talk to us and only asked us how it tasted when everything was eaten and done. They could have talked to us and made us feel a bit more like home and instead it felt like they just wanted us to pay for fine food and leave. They got 5 stars because of the quality of the food, fast service and pleasant outside dining area but if one of them hadn't been top they would have gotten a 4 because of the lack of engaging staff.

G M.

Yelp
I really liked this place. But its a bit lacking in style. The outdoor seating is very cute and pretty, but indoors is bright and boring and old. The food was quite good and reasonably priced, but again, the plating and presentation was very simple. I would definitely go back though. This place might be hard to find without using Google map. Its kind of on a side alley off the main drag. We were able to park sorta behind it within a block.

Yelp
Capellini in Beef Broth was delicious.. simple and light with a wonderful flavor. My friend had the minestrone soup and veal both of which were delicious. Would recommend if you are in Parma..

Yelp
Very good local restaurant with generous portions and tasty dishes. A favorite among our company was the lasagne. Also the Culatello was amazing. Helpful staff and good english. Organizing a table for 12 persons were no problem. Buonissimo!

Yelp
If you're in Italy, get on a train, plane, car or walk because this might be the best food you will eat on your trip.
google avatar

Rafael M.

Yelp
Much better than expected. For sure a 5 stars. It is one of the best risottos I've tried. I recommend and I would return. Price is affordable, food quality is amazing. It is not a tourist restaurant, which is good. We tried risotto, pasta, and some starters. The parma ham and the parmesan cheese are from another planet. You MUST have it.
google avatar

Daniel K.

Yelp
Really good food. Authentic dishes to the Parma region on the menu (one example being horse). Service was very good, and the place was very kid friendly. House still red was def a good compliment to our meal. Prices were very reasonable. Only reason why I did not give 5 stars is that the way you pay is a bit goofy and could take some time if they are busy. (You are given your check and then you queue to pay at the front of the restaurant.) The payment process should not deter you from trying the place though.

Yelp
Trattoria del Tribunale could be the best deal in Parma! This place is incredibly delicious and a great deal, super reasonable prices. We loved it and went back two nights in a row. We highly recommend the Torta Fritta (€ 2.50, fried dough) with one of the salami platters they offer, such as the Desgustazione del Salumi (€ 9.00, salami tasting) or prosciutto di parma (€ 7.50) or culatello (€ 10.00). The first night we shared the Degustazione di Tortelli (€ 9.00), which had Spinach, Carciofi/Artichoke, and Zucca (pumpkin/squash). We also had the Guanciale Vitello con cipolline in agrodolce (€ 11.00) (Veal cheek I think)) which was really flavorful and cooked until very tender. Night 2 we had the Tagliolini al Culatello [the best part of the prosciutto] (€ 8.00) (fresh homemade egg pasta, super creamy without the cream), and a bolognese-like Tagliatelle al ragù (€ 8.00). These are all local specialities, expertly prepared, and at unbeatable prices. Don't forget the Marcello bottle of Lambrusco (€ 7.00), which is a lighter sparkly red wine that is another local speciality that should not be missed! We also had the Spinaci con Parmesean (sauteed spinach with a bit of parmesean) that was also delicious and helped round out the meal with some veggies. The service was warm and attentive. If you're counting your calories or trying to not go overboard, I don't think the Tiramisu (€ 4.00) was outstanding, especially compared to the other amazing dishes.

Yelp
Nothing special in my view. If you want solid simple food with ok service then this is the place. Other places nearby seemed to have more of a buzz and more imaginative food.

Yelp
This was our first meal in Italy on the way to Tuscany area. The food was phenomenal!!! Make sure you stop here and eat. One of the best restaurants we dined at on our 2 week stay. Oh, and by the way my grandmother is Italian and we are accustomed to good food. Delicious!!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is literally the stuff of dreams. I dream about the meal we had here alllllllllllll the time. And now that I'm back in the states I can barely eat Italian food, because it is so far from the amazing food we had here. We had the prosciutto and the gnocchi pillows. OMG the prosciutto just falls apart, just melts! It's so delicious. And the gnocchi pillows, I mean you have to love this fried dough. We got the lemon pasta and it was the best pasta I've ever had in my life. A creamy, lemony, fettucine. Mmmmmmmm. We also got the eggplant parmigiana -- best I've ever had too! Literally everything was just so good here. And so cheap. Our entire dinner - two appetizers, two pastas, one main, wine - was just 56 euros. It is amazing. We went here on a whim and it was the best decision we've ever made. If I could eat here every night, I certainly would.

Chris B.

Yelp
Very nice place. Excellent food and service.Absolutely the best meal in Parma. Don't miss the Parmigiano-Reggiano!

Jeffrey B.

Yelp
Amazing , everything was amazing! Prices are GREAT and food is really well done! It is a must to try this place if you make it to Parma.

Cynthia W.

Yelp
Awesome! Parma cheese! Parma ham! Pasta was awesome. I had the ravioli with spinach & ricotta. We ate too much. Be careful on how much you order. They don't take your plate away until you tell them "enough". Eggplant was just ok. My husband loved his pasta & veal. You need to go.
google avatar

Marijan T.

Yelp
5 stars mainly for the fantastic quality price ratio. The setting is not so nice since its a pretty big place with three floors and we were placed at the top which was a small windowless space which felt a little claustrophobic but damn, the food was amazing. Try the truffle pasta, its delicious! And all for around 20 euros per person with a glass of wine. Order the hot bread too, it's amazing, especially with the parmesan cheese.

Yelp
This little gem of a restaurant is tucked down an alley but there are signs pointing to it from the Main Street. I would not have known about it had it not been for Yelp. The interior is seasoned and simple but the food steals the show. We were able to try a refreshing bottle of Malvasia, a white wine of the region. For lunch we ordered the fried bread I had been reading about - it is almost a cross between a cracker and a roll - it puffs in the middle and looks like it has been cut with a ravioli wheel. We shared the pumpkin flan (delicious - the flavor was amazing! It was not too eggy and was more dense than other flan I have had. For me, the texture was just right!) and artichoke ravioli (you could really taste the fresh artichoke used for the filling). Our other guest had a chicken, potato and eggplant/zucchini plate. The price point was very reasonable, especially for food clearly made from scratch: $42 Euro for 3 people (includes the wine and water).

Yelp
Great food, wine, and ambiance. The restaurant is on a super narrow side street; you can find tables against a vine grown wall, or inside. Legit Italian food. I highly recommend.

Kimberly M.

Yelp
Read some good reviews so decided to go for dinner. The service is good, and the food is nice as well, yet the dishes choice weren't as significants and the desserts weren't home-made, which was really a bummer. You definitely will eat well and you'll be surprised by the check because it isn't expensive at all.
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
Very good. Worth the walk to find. Prices are very good. The lasagna is great. I'm from America so it's not the normal lasagna from home but I didn't expect that anyway. It's better! I got the apple pie and ice cream. Lol, I'll call it apple cake. Skip the bread but everything else was amazing!
google avatar

Nikki C.

Yelp
Wow wow wow , just incredibly impressed with the meal we had here. The waiter was very helpful and spoke English. Made great suggestions from the menu, plate of hams and fried bread. I had the pasta with the best prosciutto and the other ladies had the Moses ravioli and the parmesan risotto. It was a religious experience for all of us! Highly recommend it

Mark M.

Yelp
I had 3 course dinner here on a Saturday night. No horse meat hash for me, I went with gnocchi then sauteed spinach and a mixed salad. Gnocchi were average, in my opinion. Softer than I would like; I prefer when they offer some chewiness; these more or less dissolved on the tongue. The tomato sauce was full flavuored. The dish was served somewhere between warm and hot; it should be served piping hot. The sauteed spinach with parmesan (and butter, as I found out only when I tasted it) was exceptional. Rich, salty and buttery. The richness may shorten your life but it's certainly decadently delicious. The mixed salad was excellent: large with a medley fresh ingredients, proving some sweetness and bitterness. High quality EVOO and balsamico were provided for the diner to dress it. Bread was served as well, and that was a disappointment. The two rolls were dry, chalky and not worth eating.
google avatar

Jun W.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Both the risotto and tagliatelle with ragu are superb. It could be a bit hard to find since it's tucked away in a small street. But definitely worth the try.
google avatar

Gianluca C.

Yelp
Excellent location, awesome staff, and most importantly excellent food. We went two days in a row --- it's that good.
google avatar

Meinhard G.

Yelp
Very good food and the service is friendly and efficient. Good taste and presentation of food. Food, wine and other drink prices are very reasonable. Of course we went there because of reviews and Lonely Planet write up. But not like LP writes it, we did not see a gauntlet of ham slicers or waiters gauging ... Anyway a nice restaurant with very good food!

Donna D.

Yelp
The food was good but the service was not. I was dining alone and it took over one hour for just my dinner portion to come out. No one even stop to check on me. The table behind me actually got up to go check on the food for both of us. I wasn't impressed.

Yelp
Best dinner in Parma so far. The food, service and decor were all excellent. I am from NYC and it was is as good as any of the Italian restaurants we have been to.
