"Trattoria i'Raddi, a classic Tuscan trattoria in the Santo Spirito neighborhood, is run by the Outran family. (A few family members are locally famous for playing calcio storico , a historic and brutal sport that seems like a mix of soccer andMMA fighting.) Come here to eat pappa al pomodoro (Tuscan bread-and-tomato stew), pici all’aglione (pasta with garlicky red sauce) , and peposa . Peposa is a slow-cooked, peppery beef stew, almost aTuscan version ofchili; according to legend, it was invented by Brunelleschi. The food here is affordableand theprix fixelunch specials are an even better value."

Loved this place!!! A great neighborhood resturant feel. Vibes were great. Seemed to be a good mix of locals and tourists. The servers were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious- simple but delicious. The fried zucchini blossoms were amazing. The tortellini was a good vegetarian option. Other people in my group loved the ragu. Definitely would recommend!

Very nice restaurant. Felt less touristy than other restaurants we’d tried and very authentic and personal. Delicious food.

This was place awesome. There’s a photo of Bourdain on the wall. Has a really rustic, no frills vibe. They were playing Italian radio. As American tourists, we were happy to find a place in Florence where most of the other diners were Italian. The place filled by 9pm, but we were first ones seated at 7:30pm. One waiter spoke decent English. Menu didn’t have English translations, another good sign :)

We randomly passed this restaurant over a year ago and put it on our list of places to try. Apparently it’s a neighborhood favorite, a place closely connected to the community, especially during lockdown when it prepared meals for people in need. The owners/workers are supposedly part of the Bianchi team of the calcio storico. All cool stuff, but what about the food? The presentation, as you can see from the photos, was quite beautiful. The tortelli were lacking strong flavors, but that’s also because eggplant, I find, doesn’t taste like too much - so, my fault. The Caserecce were simple, but very tasty! The tagliata was spot on, very nice. Two options of red house wine. Good prices. Good quality. Friendly waitstaff. Only drawback, and the reason for four stars instead of five: with loads of cute outdoor tables, we were put at the lone table far from all the others (a good ten meters), separated by parked motorini, in front of someone’s door, in a little pond of (sewage?) water. And every few seconds a really bad odor would blow through the air, making it rather unpleasant to eat...

Yelp
One of those depressing experiences where the evening is ruined as you leave. After a nice meal, what seemed reasonable service, good atmosphere, I got the bill and paid by card. Only later did I notice that the amount charged was greater than the amount on the bill. Dumb tourists, they thought no doubt. It's just plain dishonesty. It stinks.

Yelp
Hidden gem in Firenze! Wonderful Tuscan food. My sister and I have to eat gluten free and we were so happy to find this place. The service was wonderful. We had their two risotto dishes and were both extremely happy. Mine was a risotto curry dish. This is NOT a touristic place and very minimal English was spoken. If your looking for an authentic Tuscan dining experience, go here!

Yelp
This is the most amazing place to eat in Florence. It is a little tucked away wonderful spot that has the best food, service and atmosphere. You might even learn a little about Calcio Storico (Vice Sports Doc) since it's owed by one of its most famous participants. You will get a really authentic experience, not like most spots in Florence. The place probably seats 30 people and you'll slowly become a part of a larger neighborhood family just by dining there. Such a great experience, it will be the highlight of your trip! -Ted, Nashville, TN USA

Yelp
Per the recommendation of a Facebook friend....we walked to the "olteano " part and visited.trattoria I'raddi for some Florentine food with a twist...cool hidden place, had the chef's specialty octopus and fish pasta and the wife had the gnocchi with zaffran eggplant and fried anchovies... was pretty good..

Yelp
Wonderful home-cooked food in a simple trattoria that looks like it's been around for hundreds of years. Incredible prices at lunch - €3 for a risotto with lampredotto - and €6 for steak and cannelloni beans. Local wine by the quarter litre upwards and filtered water meant that the two of us had a stand-out lunch for €22 all in. This place is full of locals and the staff are efficient but unassuming. If I lived near this place, I'd probably have lunch there every day!

Yelp
Was taken here by Florentine friends and it was TRULY MAGNIFICENT. The steak was a winner. Delicious as can be. Everything was good - the beans, the veggies, the charcuterie. The cocolis were to die for. Prices were right too. Perfect ambiance, and a little off the beaten track, in a cool area! GO!

Yelp
Nice local restaurant, Great Tripe and Steak! Don't ask for well done steak they will refuse! Some of the employees of the local game calcio storico a local war game.

Yelp
Again a hit! Deep fried bread dough anchovies and eggplant mmmmm. Home made pasta stuffed with escole, buratta and salty olives. Pork croquette with salsa verde, all fantastic! Local wine, excellent. Atmosphere is homey, and friendly service. Top the meal off by a home made lemonchello. It gets busy!

Yelp
We ate here twice during our vacation. It was so good and we wanted to try more things! Everything was great. We enjoyed the steak, gnocchi and fried bread the most!

Yelp
Fun place off the beaten path. The food here was excellent. Cheese plate nicely assembled. Really good cheeses. Salad was fresh, the pastas were nicely done. We did not order the steak but the Italians at a table did. What came out was mouth watering and I wish they offered a taste, it looked so perfectly cooked. The house-made red wine was far better than any house wine I've had so far in Italy.

Yelp
Hands down the best restaurant we have been to in Florence. The wine was amazing and just a short walking distance from the main streets. It is hidden so there are not many tourists. The steak is one of the best I have had.

Yelp
We were looking for a place that was okay with kids as we have a 3 year old. The restaurant opens around 730pm, and it's best to make reservations. The fare was typically Tuscan. Emphasis on fresh, seasonal, simple food. We ordered the fagiole, black rice risotto with squid ink And pasta picci in bolognese sauce and zucchini. Pretty good, wholesome food. With 2 primi plates, 2 glasses of wine, a starter and a side, total: 60euros. Definitely not cheap. They were, however, comfortable with kids and after we arrived, a couple locals arrived with multiple kids in tow. Bring some coloring books, elmo, silly putty, crayons and you'll be good.

Yelp
This was by far and away the best meal we had in Florence. The opening course was a heavenly mushroom type of flan. I actually had to put my fork down and take a deep breath and just inhale this fabulous dish. Next up was a pork loin stuffed with cabbage. It was absolutely perfect. As we traveled around Italy my wife got in the habit of ordering a steak dish that is served on top of arugula and then has some Parmesan cheese on it a very simple dish. This was so perfectly delicious. It Was truly the embodiment of Italian cuisine, simple basic ingredients presented honestly and cooked to perfection him to bring out their finest flavor

Yelp
Hidden gem. If I lived in Florence, I wouldn't be writing this review because I wouldn't want other people to know about it! Best Italian food experience I've had in Italy during this trip. Staff were lovely, pasta was beyond amazing. And don't leave without ordering the creme brûlée! We'll be back next time we're in Florence.

Yelp
Wanted to find a spot that wasn't overrun with tourists and so took the positive Yelp review in English and the others in Italian as a hopeful sign. So glad I did. We had a LOVELY dinner at this restaurant. It was empty when we arrived at 7:30pm on a Wednesday night, but by the time we left near 10pm, it was full to bursting with locals. My favorite was the Coccoli (which I'd never had before) as an appetizer and I had the handmade tortellini for my main pasta. All delightful!
