Trattoria La Foglia

The food was very tasty and well-prepared. I would especially like to praise the staff for their kindness and professionalism, and give special thanks to the young man handling reservations - he was extremely helpful and accommodating. The only downside was that we weren’t given wine glasses even though we ordered their house wine. Overall, still a great experience!

Beautiful restaurant with local dishes and a lot of vegetarian and pescatarian options. Found it just by walking by and did surprise us for the quality of the food and variety of vegetable plates offered. The place is quiet and relaxing, and the staff is super nice. I personally tried the caponata which was one of the best ones I tried in Sicily and the Alici e Mollica, which was delicious. The vegetable plate that my companions ordered was magnificent (check the photos) with so much variety. I highly recommend trying this place.

We visited La Foglia twice during our stay based on high recommendations. I have delayed this review after our second vist, however I can now confirm that La Foglia simply didn't live up to the high expectations that we had. First visit, dinner: tuna-mint pasta was quite good, however the frito misto was below average and the dessert - pistachio brownie was simply disappointing. Second visit, lunch: primi tomato basil and ricotta-lemon pastas were quite average. The house white wine is very good and the home made finochietto is amazing. However the pricing noting the abundant options just around the corner are unreasonably high for the overall quality of the meals.

There is something special about this place. It has a happy energy and you feel like you’re dining at a friend’s house. That friend makes great food. We like the house white wine and the mixed fritture. There are many many vegetarian options here & the pastas are also good.

The most delicious lunch we’ve had so far in Sicily, with very friendly service. the restaurant has such a cool vibe and we can’t wait to go back

Beautiful restaurant and amazing dinner. We had the meat sauce tagliolini and sage butter raviolis. Would recommend both along with the arranchini and caprese salad. Everything was so fresh and the complimentary bread was probably the best bread I’ve had in Italy!! Would definitely recommend to anyone coming to Ortigia. Staff are lovely too :)

The food, the service, the atmosphere, the price - amazing. Carlo, the owner , was so warm and inviting. I felt like I was dining with my brother. I highly recommend dining at this local gem.

After eating at this restaurant for the first time, we wanted to come back and try the menu almost every evening we dined in Syracuse, and we don’t regret it! The best Pasta alla Norma we’ve ever had. The tuna meatballs were excellent. Even simple things like the vegetable plate were prepared with care and flavor. The entire team welcomes you warmly, prices are fair and the atmosphere is pleasant, in a pretty and quiet street, away from the more touristy spots. Thank you! Simon
