This has been my family’s usual spot for the last few years upon arrival in Southbroom for the December holidays. The food is admittedly consistent, and overall I’d say we have usually eaten well. Despite many of the pasta dishes being quite rich (many options having a cream based sauce), the fresh pasta itself is well-made.
Our last visit we shared the focaccia and calamari as our starter - the calamari were exceptional, the focaccia adequate. As mains (all pasta based) were also quite good although my gnocchi were slightly tepid and my dad’s spaghettini quite overcooked. My biggest concern comes with the cleanliness of the restaurant - two of our 4 glasses were dirty (one with lipstick on the rim and the other with apparent sauce on the inside); cutlery also looked questionable too.
Our waiter was friendly and eager despite his inexperience.
We didn’t have dessert, however, judging by the neighbouring tables they looked delicious!
I would recommend booking in December, as it could get busy, but note that R150 deposit per person is required.
