This was one of the two best restaurants of our month long trip from Milan to Trieste. We just happened to walk past and both our funk meters went off! The place just had a good vibe. We could not get a dinner reservation (they book up about 2 weeks out) but we went for lunch twice. Their focus is seafood, with creative variations on traditional dishes. The first day, I started with deep fried sardines, marinated with onions in a sweet vinegar. My partner started with scallops on an asparagus cream. We both had the pasta with stracciatella, bottarga and pistachios, which was a home run. We also had a very nice half bottle of an Istrian Malavasia recommended by the owner. Everything was delicious. The next day, we each started with the linguine with clams, broadbeans and tomato. A total surprise. Rather than a briny, classic spaghetti con vongole, it had a sweeter tomato driven sauce. Very good. My partner had a carpaccio of lightly smoked tuna with mozzarella buffalo and amazing french fried eggplant, while I had the monkfish on mash potato (one of the fish of the day). We had a half bottle of Sauvignon, again recommended by the owner and a nice match for our meal. The space is pleasant and the co-owner is a delight to chat with periodically throughout the meal.

The best way to validate my 5⭐️ is to book and try as much dishes you can. Hard to choose the favoite. Maybe the ‘ plate for undecided’ / piatto per indecisi… 😀

Extremely rude. I would suggest giving your business to someone else. Very unfriendly. I think I would be generous if I said that they gave us 3 seconds to speak to them. There’s being weary of tourists, and then there’s just being a straight up unkind human. Do better because the rest of the restaurants around you have been nothing but lovely. Absolute waste of time.

The pasta was good, but the portion was too small, not enough for one person. The cheese plate had only three pieces of cheese, which were just okay. The quality overall was fine, but nothing special. For us, it was expensive. The atmosphere was good, and the waiter was nice.

My husband and I went to this restaurant because it's on the lonely planet recommended list. We're very very happy that we tried this restaurant! Exceptionally good, great environment and amazing service, there's nothing more you can ask for. Plus the waitress refused to accept tips despite her amazing and enthusiastic service. You should definitely come here if you visit Trieste.

A truly wonderful experience! Do not miss the opportunity to dine at this trattoria. Service is outstanding, the restaurant is clean and welcoming. The chef is extremely gifted. His skill in presenting each dish is refined. We started with a mixed seafood platter, followed by the best seppia risotto I have ever tasted. The finale was was a housemade semifreddo with a carmel sauce and a crunchy cookie topping. We also enjoyed a bottle of local Fruilian wine from an up and coming producer as well as coffee, and a Cynar. Thank you all for this memorable meal.

Go now! Full of Italians on a Thursday lunchtime, the most amazing tuna "ham" (prosciutto di tonne) with buffalo mozzarella and fried aubergines - see the photo, bit blurry, but it was DELICIOUS. The Tagliolini "cacio e Pepe" style and the spaghetti with bottarga, pistachios and stracciatella was also excellent.

Walked in and the owner wouldn’t even let us in saying they were booked. Simply looked at us and said nope and goodbye. Would recommend any other place here.
