What a TREASURE! I walked here from city center - it took a while and was steep at parts, but it was such a beautiful day that I wouldn’t have it any other way. After the journey, walking into this gorgeous dining room was SUCH a gift! Then I had the sweetest waiter, the most delicious food, and perfectly crisp Prosecco 😁 perfect!!!

On a whim, my husband and I decided to dine here on our last night in Italy. The food was spectacular! We had penne ragu, steak topped with mixed berries, seasonal vegetables and for dessert, biscotti and dolce vino with pannacotta followed by grappa. We ate everything family-style and had a wonderful evening. We highly recommend Trattoria Omero and will revisit unpon our next return to Toscana. Bravo!

This is a genuine hidden treasure in Florence. Located a distance from the main city, it's a place you'll need to drive to reach, but the effort is rewarded with a gorgeous meal set against a stunning view of the rolling Tuscan hills. We thoroughly enjoyed our Tuscan meal, with several dishes standing out: - Crostone di pane toscano con burrata al tartufo e battuta di manzo - Penne strascicate all'Omero - Pici all' aglione con ricotta salata - Bistecca alla Fiorentina - Verdure fritte The service was also top-notch, with our server being particularly helpful and providing excellent recommendations for their Super Tuscan wines. The only minor caveat is the pace of service, which can slow to a near standstill during a large lunch crowd. My advice: grab a bottle of wine, relax, and savor the holiday!

It’s a really nice restaurant, the food was kinda basic. Tasty but not really special. And it’s kinda pricey. A lot of celebrities have been there.

A great restaurant that doesn't really stand out from the outside at first glance. Once inside, however, it is wonderful. The view over the expanse as far as Florence is marvellous. The service is excellent. Price and service are very good value for money and the quality of the food is excellent. We would come back to this great restaurant at any time.

A bit far away from Florence yet the trip is worth it. The roasted rabbit was superb, and the fried artichokes were magnificent.

Incred lunch or dinner option - super easy bus ride from Florence. The food was great, we had porcini risotto, burrata, and fritto misto. Staff were super kind, they were getting slammed but it was still a fab experience.

Local trattoria that serves delicious traditional food - they even have their own wine and olive oil! The staff were very welcoming and helpful and everything we ordered was outstanding. They also have a small shop that sells deli meats, cheeses, antipasti and pasta. Worth a visit on the 38 bus from Porta Roma (10mins) if you don't have a car or aren't staying close by.

The restaurant looks great. Downstairs dining room has vaulted brick ceiling and floors of terra cotta tiles. However, the food was bland. Filet of beef lacked flavor and seasoning. $80 worth of beef wasted. The braised rabbit in Chianti promised to be a dish bursting with layered flavors but came out bland and one note. Our poor waiter was overtaxed and disappeared for long stretches, sometimes forgetting things. Given high end price and proximity to better restaurants in Florence, I would skip this one.

This restaurant was okay- the view was fantastic and the food was average. I really liked the appetizer but wasn't a fan of the chicken or mixed salad. It's a bit of a pain to get to because there's nothing else around. We had a nice time but won't be going back. You don't need a reservation, but if you have one you will get a table with a better view!

This was the best meal we had on our trip. The terrace was amazing, great view across the valley. We had a long and pleasant dinner!

Such a lovely setting--great views of the Tuscan countryside. Nice wine list and impeccable service--attentive and friendly but not overdone. Enjoyed the simple fare with mixed green salad, pasta with a duck ragout and roasted chicken. All delicious and authentic. Made for a splendid break after a walk from Villa Agape.

So so amazing. The marinated artichokes and omero style pasta is unreal. The ambience is perfect. 11/10

A wasted trip here. The service sucked, poor drink selections, and the menu was severely lacking. What they do have is a view, but at night you can't see anything. Far better restaurants in Florence so pick another.

Set in the hills outside of Florence, Omero has been a destination for great Tuscan food for generations. Grilled meats, fried vegetables, seafood and chicken and standouts. The grilled chicken (Polo alla Matone) are famous! Get a table by the window so you can see the sun set over Florence!

Fantastic! Getting there is a trip! Through a tiny winding road to what appears to be atop of a cliff. Great food, service, and view.

One of my favorites in Florence! I have been dining here since my first visit to Italy in 1991. The "flattened chicken" is outstanding.

To cut to the chase, if you are staying in the Florence city center area, DO NOT BOTHER TO EAT HERE! Based on our other dining experiences in Florence, we would have been much happier eating at a restaurant in town! We went here on the recommendation of our very good museum tour guide and it was described as a "local" place, not touristy. Reviews on Yelp support that as they are mostly in Italian. However, even thought it's not that far, it is in the hills outside the main part of town and a taxi is needed. So, before you even start you are more than 30 euros out of pocket, there and back. They charge € 3 more because you "called" the taxi! It was nice driving into the hills and seeing the suburbs/country, and the view from the back of the restaurant is very nice, rustic. Menu is fine and looked very interesting. However, this was our 5th night in Italy and so far the only lackluster one. The food was very average, nothing was really outstanding. Mixed vegetable plate was good. Tortellini and the fried chicken - very average, not much taste. Asparagus was fine; potatoes Fritti was French fries - really? Chocolate "cupcake" was very boring. And to top it all off, my wife said the waiter was constantly rolling his eyes at us! He was nice enough, but I could see he didn't like that we ordered white wine - the wine list was largely red but other than the tortellini our dishes were "white" and I just did not want red again. And I wanted the dishes above after the first course all together - veggies with main course! - sorry but that's what I'm used to. And then I asked for vanilla ice cream with the chocolate cake. Too many faux pas in one meal I guess. AND, probably 3/4 of the folks there were American it NOT Italian! Oh well, chalk it up to expensive lesson learned and hopefully this will help someone else - the Yelp way!!!

I usually only go to restaurants with 4.5-5 stars on yelp but someone else in my party really wanted to go here. So we went and it was the best meal we had in Florence. It beat all the other places we went to by far! And the view is beautiful.

I think it was extremely expensive for such average food. On top of that, service was really bad. In these types of restaurants were you pay this kind of money they usually serve your wine or ask you how you are doing every now and then... Here, you have to ask for things even five times! Yes, five! I am giving them two stars because cheese plate was good. No air conditioning, mosquitos, and no smiles whatsoever. Serve your own water, serve your own wine while I give you dry chicken. Do not recommend it at all.

Omero is an institution in Florence, best known for the steak it offers a good selection of Florentine specialities and a stunning view (in the summer) over the hills. Located in the posh area of Pian dei Giullari, expect an expensive bill at the end of the meal, but also expect a very good Fiorentina Steak and other dishes. It's debatable wether they are the best in town for the steak, but it's not debatable that they offer a consistent (and very good) performance every time.

We went here on the advice of a local woman. What a special place this is, a must if you are in Florence! The drive is a bit tricky but use gps. Park on the edge of the small town and walk. Enter through a butcher shop on the north side of the street. The moment you step in the elegant yet comfortable environment sets the tone for your meal. The wide wooden window cases highlight an unforgettable view. You can't see Florence, but it doesn't matter. It is a stunning view of surrounding wooded hills and valleys. We first went to lunch with some friends from Bonconvento. It was amazing! Delectable! Every dish we shared was perfect, fresh and seasonal. My daughter came to town a few days later with her fiancée. After hearing us rave she insisted we take them there. We were lucky to get the last table. Again, another perfect meal. I apologize for the lack of details about the meal. We were the 3 years ago. I have sent several people there but never reviewed it. I would return in a second! We live in Los Angeles and see movie stars from time to time. Yet our biggest siting was here at Omero's, an ultra famous Hollywood husband/wife and their children. On your way up stop at Basilica San Miniato, better view than Michelangelo Plaza, and an fabulous cemetery in the back!!

We spent 10 nights in Florence and ate at 20 places. This place stood out as the worst. I would not go here ever. The anti past was good but the rest of the food was over cooked and the flavors very subpar. The a service was slow, in attentive and not friendly compared to everywhere else. Beautiful location on a hill but interior is too bright and harsh. Nothing to suggest you go here ever.

Bistecca alla Floratina was great especially with a little salt and pepper. The white beans side was fabulous with it. The staff was very friendly and willing to help suggest the perfect wine with the meal. The view is extraordinary being at a high point on the south side of Arno overlooking all of Florence.

This was by far the rudest and worst meal my family has ever had on a vacation. We have traveled throughout Europe several times and have never been treated so poorly. The service was slow beyond belief. There were plenty of menus and quick service for the local families but our table of 9 received very little. The food was uneventful to say the least. With the simple menu one would expect greatness, but the food was as boring as the menu. We skipped desert because after 3 hours the waiter still had not taken our desert order and we had to bring our card to the kitchen to pay.

Looks like an Italian deli when you enter with Prosciutto hams hanging from the ceiling and dried salamis and sausage in the meat case. But after you pass these riches of meats you enter a beautiful room which overlooks the Florence hills. The restaurant is magnificent with a vast menu of pastas and meat dishes. The wine list is special with many wines of the region. Our waiter Andrew who I would request when you go gave us great recommendations which were right on. We started with a cheese and prosciutto plate of course and a cold sliced artichoke appetizer. Then we had pasta with a duck ragu sauce which was full of rich duck in a light brown sauce. For main courses we had fried veal cutlet with the bone covered with cherry tomatoes and arugula, awesome and a tender grilled steak with shavings of parmesan cheese. Tartufu for desert was the best we ever had. This is a must go place. Prices were in line for a quality restaurant but you won't break the bank. We had a very nice bottle of wine for 30 Euro. That retailed in the states for $22 not much of an up charge.
