We came here for lunch while we were in Ravello for the day and we had heard they had the best local and most traditional Italian cuisine in town.
We got a pasta sampler (recommended by our server) and the fava soup to share between two people and it exceeded our expectations to say the least. The pasta sampler had 4 different pastas but much smaller portions to allow you to try what they have to offer, perfect for someone like me who isn't sure what to order. The fava bean soup was tasty and not overbearing and very flavorful, perfect for us who weren't that hungry to begin with.
Later on in the day we were decided to cancel our reservation at Rossellini and came here again for dinner. We ordered a mussel starter, a vegetable starter, the roasted rabbit, and the pasta special of the day.
The vegetable starter was ok, nothing special. It had beans, artichoke, cooked spinach, lettuce, raw tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, and some other cooked vegetables. I was shocked by how much this starter was, 20 or so euros! Totally wasn't worth it.
The mussels were very fresh and had a fairly salty sauce at the bottom which I didn't dare to delve into so we just ate the mussels.
The rabbit was ok as well, nothing too special. Honestly just reminded me of chicken and actually lacked flavor. It was in a tomato based sauce and it almost seemed like they cooked the rabbit without the tomato sauce and just poured it over later.
The highlight was their pasta - it had sausages and mushroom and was delicious. I highly recommend to just focus on their pastas in the future.
They also had a good selection of local wines to chose from and I really enjoyed the House red wine.
Overall, very affordable place for lunch and dinner with the homemade cooking feel of an Italian trattoria.
