Trattoria San Domenico

One of the best meals we'd had in Monopoli, primi pastas were finally a decent size and delicious all around. Entrecote was cooked to our liking, nice and tender. The fish however was too burnt for us. Relaxing atmosphere, reservation is needed.

Loved this spot - felt very intimate and the staff were very friendly. The menu is available I. English and Italian and the staff kindly took the care and patience to understand and cater to our requests. The food was so perfect - light and full of flavour. The bread, bruschetta and little valls of doughy goodness were amazing. The wine was delicious and reasonably priced - as was our meal. We ordered antipasto, a primo, a carne and dessert and shared it all. I can’t say enough good things about this spot and the staff.

This is my favorite restaurant in Monopoli, every dish we have had here has been just fantastic. We had their variety appetizer which is 5 different small appetizers, and we were just blown away. I can't eat salmon in America. Its just too fishy. But their Salmon tartar was amazing, light and delicious. I don't like pretentious food, and this was just the opposite of that. Beautifully and brilliantly prepared and absolutely delicious. Get a Reservation! We were lucky that we got a table our first time because we showed up right as they opened and got their only available table. We reserved every other time and had no problems getting one.

I’d walked past and never thought to check it out until this evening. Myself and 5 other friends were so pleased and surprised. Freshness and generous portions. Simple environment. Relaxed in frenetic atmosphere. Definitely returning.

It’s a busy place down a side street. I had seen the good reviews on Google so decided to give it a try. Good fish main course and lovely pre starter snack. Crowning glory was the Strawberry and almond desert. Great food and service

This place offers warm and attentive service, with a memorable recommendation of local white wine. There is outside as well as inside seating available. It gets quite packed, so I’d recommend to make a reservation. About the food: the mushroom tomato sauce oricchiette was underwhelming—it lacked the depth and punch I was hoping for. The shrimp pesto gnocchi was a bit better, thanks to the standout shrimp, but the real highlight was the grilled fish—one of the juiciest and most flavorful I’ve ever had.

Quaint little restaurant with authentic homemade dishes. We accidentally ordered one of everything off the appetizer menu and it was the best mistake we’ve ever made. Make a reservation he fills up minutes upon opening at noon. We are red wine drinkers but the white wine suggested to pair was very very good.

Small restaurant nearby the old city. The owner is very cautious about his customers' satisfaction. They serve a typical puglian food from the sea. Antipasti are really delicious : octopuss in ragu, grilled octopuss, fried fish, shrimps in carpaccio, zucce fritti, ... Mussels and praws are really to be tasted. Prices are affordable regarding the quality, I really recommend this adress

Really phenomenal dinner tonight with an unbelievable antipasto for two people that was delicious, generous and creative (and enough to feed 5!). The rest of the dinner was superb - way better than I would expect to find on a side street in Monopoli! Great find!!
