Tried this Italian spot recently. The pizza was actually really good—crispy crust, nice flavor, and fresh toppings. The pasta had a decent sauce with good seasoning, but the overall dish could’ve been better—maybe it needed a bit more richness or texture. What really brought the experience down, though, was the service. The server didn’t seem very friendly or attentive, which made the atmosphere a bit uncomfortable. Decent food, but the customer service definitely needs improvement.

The pasta here is top notch!! I am a big carbonara fan & the Carbonara Alla Calabrese was excellent. My wife had the Lasagna, which was also very flavorful. We ordered the Fichi as an appetizer, but unfortunately it was a gamble being out of fig season. I would recommend not baking the prosciutto with the fig and cheese & then wrapping it after. The bread (which you have to order) just seemed like a toasted panino, so I wouldn't recommend getting that. As an Italian, I think bread should be included at every table but at the end of the day, Tav's is a must try for their quality of pasta! I will be back to try some more options & enjoy the old school vibes.

Dined here for lunch with my boyfriend, and it was a very tasty and great experience overall! We ordered Burrata e Prosciutto, Carbonara Alla Calebrese, Penne alla Calebrese and a Tiramisu. This is probably one of my favourite Italian restaurants I have been to so far in Toronto. I would definitely go back here again and highly recommend this place to others!

This place was amazing. From a person who has been to Italy, this food was amazing. Even though the restaurant was packed, the servers sat us down pretty quickly, and they were very nice. The place was clean, and small, not like those big restaurants you walk into where there are stains on the tablecloths. Clean, efficient and yummy, this place deserves 5/5 stars.

They have the best, freshest calamari in town. Overall experience was good, I wished they would remember our special occasion as I did mention it on the reservation. I would come here for casual hang out, not for an anniversary.

Unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience. We were seated in the patio, and later realized that red wine had been spilled on my white shorts, bag, and hoodie apparently from the table behind us. While I understand this might not have been a direct server error, the tables in the front garden are placed so closely together that we were practically back-to-back with other guests. When we brought this up, we were told that due to the weekend festival, the tables had been arranged more tightly—but honestly, that’s not a valid excuse. The second issue was the quality of the food. The pasta we had was extremely basic and lacked any depth of flavor. The pizza, which I would normally enjoy for its crispy parts, was actually burnt. We only mentioned this to the server when they came to clear the plates at the end of the meal—until then, no one had even asked how our food was. The server acknowledged the pizza was burnt and said they would inform the chef, and that was it. Overall, this place fell far below our expectations, and we left feeling like our day was wasted.

The pesto was so delicious. The service here is really nice. Lots of different selections on the menu. I need to come back and try the other pasta dishes!

Dined on 22nd of May 2025, with friends, our first visit, but definitely not our last. Silvia and Franco were wonderful and so attentive. The food was excellent, best Calamari, but could have had an option of a different sauce and the Calabrese could have had a little more sauce. Pizza was excellent. The Primitivo was very acceptable and fairly priced. Tiramisu, homemade and delicious.
