We visited Trattoria Zaza on Friday night.
Overall, the experience was very good. It was a busy evening, and we were approached promptly by the waiters who gave us a table in the conservatory seating area outside. However, I was seated directly under a ceiling heater that was pointed down towards me. While waiting for the food to arrive, it felt like I was being cooked by the heater, which wasn’t very pleasant.
That said, the food was enjoyable. The seafood starter platter with prawns and calamari was nice and tasted fresh. The red wine was good and flavourful, with a low acidity level, which I appreciated. The Coke arrived in a glass bottle — always a nice touch, as it tastes better that way.
For the main course, we had carbonara pasta and veal with porcini mushrooms, truffle sauce, and rosemary potatoes. Both dishes were very nice, and the veal was tender. The waiter was friendly and attentive. Prices are very reasonable, and the portion sizes were enough to satisfy us.
My only recommendation would be to add some grilled vegetables alongside the veal and potatoes to elevate the dish slightly.
Overall, our visit was satisfying 😊
