Trattoria Zà Zà

We visited Trattoria Zaza on Friday night. Overall, the experience was very good. It was a busy evening, and we were approached promptly by the waiters who gave us a table in the conservatory seating area outside. However, I was seated directly under a ceiling heater that was pointed down towards me. While waiting for the food to arrive, it felt like I was being cooked by the heater, which wasn’t very pleasant. That said, the food was enjoyable. The seafood starter platter with prawns and calamari was nice and tasted fresh. The red wine was good and flavourful, with a low acidity level, which I appreciated. The Coke arrived in a glass bottle — always a nice touch, as it tastes better that way. For the main course, we had carbonara pasta and veal with porcini mushrooms, truffle sauce, and rosemary potatoes. Both dishes were very nice, and the veal was tender. The waiter was friendly and attentive. Prices are very reasonable, and the portion sizes were enough to satisfy us. My only recommendation would be to add some grilled vegetables alongside the veal and potatoes to elevate the dish slightly. Overall, our visit was satisfying 😊

Loved this restaurant!! Would definitely recommend and come back. We ordered the Tagliata di manzo alla brace con rucola e crema di tartufo fatta in casa e patate al forno and the carbonara and both were really good, but the meat was really something else, it did blown my mind in the best way. The atmosphere is very romantic and authentic and the service is really helpful and patient.

The food is very good. I went twice during the three days I spent in Florence, and both times the experience was excellent. Great flavors, generous portions, and a truly authentic atmosphere. Highly recommended. One small suggestion: the bathrooms look quite outdated and very rusty, and could definitely use some renovation compared to the rest of the place.

I ordered the sliced steak with artichokes and cheese for lunch on 8 February 2026. I selected rare for the steak, and the steak was juicy, tender and well-seasoned. The artichokes and cheese were also nice, but I think they did not match with the steak very well. Nonetheless, the dining experience was excellent, and the waiter was attentive and polite. The environment was also very nice as even the toilet is lavishly decorated. The meal costs €22 in total (€3 service charge) and I think it is acceptable given that quality of the steak is very nice.

Best meal we’ve had in Italy! The steak, the fried calamari and the lobster pasta are just simply incredible! Truly the best meals we had on the trip. You can taste the freshness of all the ingredients. Just let the waiter do the order for you and they would pick the most perfect dishes. Excellent service and ambience. Highly highly recommended.

It was recommended by my hotel, who advised me to book a table as they get very busy — and I’m so glad we did. The service was attentive and quick, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere was lively yet welcoming. The interiors and architecture are beautiful, adding even more charm to the whole experience. Highly recommended!

When it comes to the steak 🥩 , there’s honestly nothing left to say, it was outstanding and truly exceptional. I ordered it well done, and it was cooked perfectly. I highly recommend trying the steak platter with Truffle mushroom 🍄‍🟫 sauce; the flavor of the sauce was absolutely incredible. Trattoria ZaZa offers an almost complete menu of traditional Florentine and Italian dishes 🍝. Even though both times I visited I ended up ordering the steak, the presentation and aroma of the other dishes were extremely inviting. The atmosphere is very unique 🥹, with corridors and interconnected rooms, each one beautifully designed with its own distinct style and ambiance. It makes you want to choose a different dining room every time you return. The service is impeccable. The staff are extremely polite, attentive, and genuinely kind. I also tried ZaZa’s house wine 🍷 , which I found to be really, really good. Everything was perfect, absolutely perfect.👌🏻 I’d happily return to and recommend to anyone visiting Florence.✨☘️💙

We had a really lovely experience here. I ordered the truffle carbonara and it was delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant, with décor that felt unique and a bit different from the usual places. Even on a Friday night, we were able to get a table without a reservation. The service was quick and friendly, and the food portions are very generous. I’m only in Florence for three days and I’m seriously considering going there again before I leave.
