We booked with Travellers Autobarn because of the very good pricing and because we didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars per night for a hotel at the national parks. We had a great experience, the car worked well and we had a very beautiful time at the national parks. You have plenty of space inside the van but it’s still a good size to comfortable drive around (some American cars were even bigger than the van 😁). All in all we had a great time for an amazing price!

A Fantastic Winter Road Trip with Travellers Autobarn! I recently embarked on a winter road trip with a campervan rented from Travellers Autobarn in Los Angeles, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. From start to finish, everything was perfect, making my journey truly memorable. Firstly, the staff at Travellers Autobarn deserve a huge shout-out. Every team member I interacted with was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and professional. They made the rental process smooth and hassle-free, answering all my questions with patience and expertise. It's evident that they take pride in ensuring that their customers have the best possible experience. The van itself was in impeccable condition. It was super clean and well maintained, giving me complete confidence as I hit the road. One of the standout features for this trip was the built-in heater. Traveling in winter can be challenging due to the cold, but the heater kept the interior perfectly cozy and comfortable throughout my journey. This small but significant detail truly enhanced the whole experience, allowing me to enjoy the beautiful winter landscapes without any worries about staying warm. Driving the van was a pleasure, as it performed flawlessly on the road. Whether I was cruising along the highway or navigating winding mountain roads, the vehicle handled everything with ease. It was clear that Travellers Autobarn takes great care in maintaining their fleet to ensure the highest standards of safety and reliability. Overall, my experience with Travellers Autobarn was fantastic. Their dedication to customer satisfaction, coupled with the quality of their vehicles, made my winter road trip one for the books. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to explore the open road, whether it's a summer adventure or a winter escape. I will definitely be returning for my next campervan journey!

Thank you Travellers Autobarn! This company is as American as it gets! (even tho it’s Australian) We had a great experience and my kids got to see the Grand Canyon thanks to you guys! I will forever appreciate the trust and care you have provided for me and my family. God Bless you guys and thanks Luis G for the great pick up service and Yuli for the helping us and understanding us during the drop off. Looking forward to the next trip thanks to you guys ❤️

We rented a campervan from Travellers Autobarn for 3 weeks in November/December and explored national parks in California, Arizona, Utah, and Nevada. The Winter Premium Pack, with a heated blanket and electric heater, kept us warm even in freezing temperatures. The campervan was reliable, well-equipped, and gave us the freedom to travel at our own pace. From the Grand Canyon to Zion and Yosemite, every destination was breathtaking. Starting and ending in LA, this trip was unforgettable. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and both the pick-up and drop-off processes were smooth and hassle-free. Highly recommend Travellers Autobarn for an epic winter (or summer) road trip!

Have used this company and the Kuga for 3 trips over the States. This last vehicle was the best yet, no rattles from interior, fridge worked great, new house battery setup was awesome, never runout of power.Having got a flat tire we discovered that the jack was not up to the task (it broke)so we brought a new 6 ton bottle jack, for our own peace of mind,to continue the rest of our trip,Staff at San Fransisco and LAX were both super friendly and helpful, beginning and end, even their Customer Care lady Erin was the best.As a note, always fill in the pre booking system before you arrive at the depot (it saves so much stress, mostly for you:))All in all, we will be using this company again next year for our 6 week trip :)

Hell yeah! I rented a van from The Travellers and they made our year-end vacation fantastic. The price is reasonable and the service is wonderful. If you need a help, go find Luis. He was the one who helped me lot from A to Z!

We rented the van for 5 days, and the experience was absolutely incredible! We explored Yosemite National Park and had an unforgettable time, all thanks to the van. It was super easy to drive and kept us warm at night, which made a huge difference since it was freezing outside (and trust me, it was suuuuper cold). From start to finish, the customer service was outstanding—friendly, responsive, and genuinely helpful. I couldn’t recommend this company more for anyone looking to elevate their road trip adventure!

I had an amazing experience picking up my camper here! This is such a fun way to explore California and TAB had everything I needed for a great trip. The staff was super friendly & helpful as well, explaining everything I needed along the way!

Yelp
At first I was nervous to rent a camper van during the end of fall , early winter in the Vegas area, but my worries were alleviated. Travellers Autobarn had everything I needed and it was great to experience places like the Grand Canyon with way less people at them because of going during the off season. The van also had amazing sleeping bags that kept me warm, a stove, fridge, sink, and so much room. I wrote a review on my website Travels of Sarah Fay so check it out for the full experience.

Yelp
We rented a camper van from TAB for a 5 day camping trip to Joshua tree in November. I will say, for camping the desert in November this is the best option. We booked a Beeva van. they didn't have it and switched us to a high 5. the problem with this is the Beeva has a large lower sleeping area, the lower sleeping area in the high 5 was small and does not fit people over 5'5. we decided to sleep in the ypper area, which was fine, but when temperatures are cold and you have to pee a lot, it can be difficult to get down and get out of the van constantly. The van was nice to drive and was new, handled well and the gas consumption was good. At the end of the trip we were told we needed to fill up the gas to full on the van, fill up the propane tank and dump the grey water. While there are places nearby, these are additional trips and plans we had to consider as the van had to be back by 3pm. Some planning and scheduling was required. especially for the grey water as Joshua Tree had black water dumping stations but had no where to dump grey water. We needed to work a bit to figure this one out. all in all a pleasant experience. Some things could have been improved but, as I mentioned I feel this is the best way to camp California in the fall / winter months.

Yelp
The Kuga campervan was our home for couple nights and was a great experience! We enjoyed our roadtrip and we're def considering them for our future adventures. It has enough room for two ppl and the price was fair for what they delivered. Also, the service during pick up was great, we received good advice from the staff. Thank you!

Yelp
We had a good time with the van. The only problem we had was a leak on the roof when we were in Oregon and Seattle.

Yelp
We just got back from a trip rented the five person van and loved it we took it to Zion national park and Yellowstone national park my two kids and wife loved it too we will definitely use them again

Yelp
We rented the Kuga Campervan for a 3 week road trip around the US. Cheyenne and Derek were super friendly and helpful during pick up. We drove from Vegas to the Grand Canyon, then on to explore Utah's mighty 5! Having a camper was the perfect way to see the South West and allowed us to wake up in some of the most beautiful spots. The van itself was reasonably well equipped and had lots of storage space for all our belongings. We travelled in March's unpredictable weather and it got pretty chilly. If we were to travel in winter again, I would choose a van with integrated heating where possible.

Jay B.

Yelp
We had a great experience with our Campervan. It was large enough for us to be comfortable inside but small enough so we could manuever easily in traffic and other tight spots where large RV's would have difficulty.

Noah L.

Yelp
We took the Hi5 Campervan which slept 4 of us perfectly. The Van right away had all of the sleeping gear, pots, pans, and plenty of storage for our trip up the west coast of California! We went up plenty of steep hills and the Van carried us to the top every time. Traveling the world with our best pals waking up to the most amazing views thanks to the ability of the Hi5 Campervan. The service of droping off and picking up the vichle was smooth and quick. Great people who are always willing to help and answer any questions you have. Couldn't ask for a better trip nor a better Van that made all of our memories. The Hi5 Campervan was definitely the way to go!

Yelp
Really enjoyed my trip! I know this is a cheesy thing to say but Travellers Autobarn really exceeded my expectations. Based on how much cheaper they are than every other van/RV rental (I compared prices and TA was significantly cheaper than every other option I could find) I was a little bit worried and I didn't expect much. This is the first time I've rented a camper van, so I have nothing to compare to but I had a great experience. I saw the negative reviews about vans in poor condition and also a nightmare when checking out the van, but I experienced none of those problems. Keep in mind, this is a budget rental place so I don't expect the van to be in pristine condition or have luxury trimmings. With that said, besides a few minor issues the van was in good working condition. We drove from LA to Sedona and parked on public land. The drivability of the van was great (steering, braking, etc.) and it was actually really fun to drive. Zero mechanical problems with the van and the engine had plenty of power when accelerating onto the highway or driving up hills. Also, I went on a trip one time in an RV rental and it was REALLY difficult driving without being able to look out the rear window. I know truckers do it, but I'm really glad I rented this van instead of an RV that does not have a rear window so you have to use your mirrors only. We were debating between a van or RV and this was one consideration. Especially when backing out of spots in parking lots, having a rear window is so important. I would advise anyone reading this to consider this when they're deciding on what they want to rent for their road trip whether you go with TA or not. If you're mainly doing highway driving and parking at campgrounds it's less critical, but if you plan on pulling into parking lots the rear window makes a huge difference. I'm sure a lot of RVs now have rear view cameras, but driving on the highway and changing lanes is harder than you would think when you can't look out a rear window. The layout of the van is also really well done, it was perfect for 2 people. 3 people might be a little bit cramped but I think it's definitely doable. With 2 people it was nice having the upper loft area to store our luggage. Since no one was sleeping up there we could leave it up there and keep the ground of the van clear. Check in was also a breeze. I received a text in the morning that my van was ready and when I arrived the van was already parked right in front of the office and ready to go. I filled out most of my paperwork online so when I arrived I only had a few documents to check off on. I was given a thorough tour of the van and instructions, and was able to ask all of the questions I had. After that I was on my way. It was quick and easy. Part of that may have been lucky since no one was checking in at the time I was there, but it was a weekend so I expected to wait and there was no wait.

Julia A.

Yelp
Wow, everything was absolutely perfect! I can't say enough good things about how amazing they were to work with. Their laid back attitude made the entire experience a breeze and the customer service was simply outstanding. I am already looking forward to using their services again in the future!

Yelp
Rented a van for two whole weeks.  I waited over an hour to get the van and planned this trip half a year in advance.  There was no turning back regardless of issues after getting the van.  I did not want to waste any time with repairs as I'm paying for a rental and had good faith in the rental company initially The van I received had -  hair and did not seem to be cleaned out properly or inspected - dents everywhere - expired tags - a dented passenger side that also effected the siding door - Front and back bumper dents -  Crack in the windshield - No rear view mirror - Non working radio transmitter - Peeled moulding on table - No cruise control - Manual windows - Tpms sensor issues - Dining table mount loose, threaded and unusable  - Missing carbon monoxide/smoke detector - Weatherstripping throughout vehicle was coming off -  sinking driver seat -  cracked vent fan that did not work -  non working fan cover that kept popping open while driving This is not a full list of issues experienced with this van but it should give you a picture of the condition. Mechanically the van drove well.   I called the customer service line during the trip and let the LA branch know of the issues.  I was told they would call me this week about this situation but have yet to get any correspondence. I cannot recommend this company.  I understand that they are marketing as the low price leader but the issues I experienced are unacceptable.  This is an inferior product and service.  Hopefully they're better alternative or they address these quality control issues. On the bright side the gentleman that works on Saturdays is friendly and highly knowledgeable. They also are not open on Sunday.

Mary J.

Yelp
I had SUCH an amazing experience with Travellers Autobarn! It was nice having a kitchen in the van and it was the perfect size for my boyfriend and I to store our luggage, cook, and enjoy nights in nature. I would totally book with this company again! I also enjoy that you can add camping equipment to your van as well as a part of a package. Such a fun experience :)

Yelp
I'd like to start this review by saying that seeing all the 5 star reviews made me VERY hopeful for this company. However, I was VERY disappointed. (This review is going to be long and detailed) First of all the rental facts: I flew from Toronto to Las Vegas. The rental was for 5 days. We rented a "2019 interior age" van. But the actual van was a 2013 model. The insurance and ownership didn't match. One was for a 2013 Chevy and the other for a 2014. Getting the vehicle was great! The person named Zia (assistant manager) was helpful. We told him our plan (Death Valley, Zion, Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and finish back in Nevada Red Rock Canyon). He said those were all great places to go! We headed over to Death Valley and as we drove we heard a loud clicking noise. Luckily we moved over off the road at the visitor Center/Ranch. We called customer care and spoke to a woman named Aaron, she told us that there was a mechanic up the road and to bring the van there. We obliged, started the van and right as we put it into drive we lose power steering, the battery light comes on and most importantly the brakes stopped working. Luckily the emergency brake worked so the van was able to stop. We call and get Aaron again. Now she tells us to go to the mechanic on foot and talk to him. Never offered to replace the van or anything and made it our problem. So with no other choice we went to the mechanic. The Mechanic was by far the BEST person on this trip he was understanding and so nice (more on him later). The van needs a serpentine belt and cannot be moved. We call customer care again and are told by Aaron "good news, the mechanic will fix the car tomorrow." That was super annoying because reputable companies would come and switch the vehicle or provide alternate transportation. Luckily there was a hotel on the land so naturally I asked Aaron if we will be provided accommodation since we now have a van in the back of a mechanics parking lot with no electricity, no hookup for electricity, no internet, no bathroom. Aaron advised that they will not pay and we are to sleep in the van. This was insane to put on customers. Especially since we did not cause any of this. We asked what would've happened if we were stranded in the middle of the road? Aaron's smartass answer was "then you would've slept on the side of the road." We then asked for Zia's phone number and were told that he cannot do anything. We further insisted and finally were given the number. Aaron was so upset she hung up the phone (side note:I don't understand how Aaron; a 47 year old woman who has lived more than half her life cannot speak to customers in a dire situation correctly) Zia apologized and told us to keep the receipts and we will get refunded when we return the vehicle. Then not 4 minutes later he called back and said that he misspoke. He then said "I care about your safety so please take the hotel room and then plead your case to management when you're back" pause. "Plead" my case? Why would anyone have to plead their case in this situation. I'm not going to beg on my hands and knees for the company to do what's right! I found this to be TRULY insane and delusional. Back to the story. The stay for one night was $320USD. As we were in a budget we could not afford this. Therefore, we slept in the van in the back of a mechanics parking lot with no power, no water, no internet, no bathroom. And on Aaron's part no care. So the mechanic drove 200 MILES on a SUNDAY to get the part and fix the van. He was the most genuine and helpful person ever. He didn't have to do what he did but chose to help 2 strangers. The name of the shop is Death Valley Auto Repair. Note that Travellers autobarn did refund some of the money for the days missed but we booked in advance so it really was only like $180CAD. I would rather a warm place to sleep. But I would be remiss if I didn't at least tell what they did. Ok so now it's Sunday and we finally have the van. The sun is going down and we have to turn on our lights. Low and behold a light is burned out. We call customer care again and are advised to go back to Nevada and wait for a parts store to open so we can get the headlight put in. We were told the light was "checked" before. The other option was to "blame" the rental company if we get pulled over. This was so dumb it boiled my blood. Anyway at this point we decided that we're not mobile mechanics and they can figure it out when we return the car. We then get another email saying that we can get an "extra 3 days for free" at this point I could only laugh since maybe they don't understand how airplane tickets work? I can't just call up the airline and say "hey can I come 3 days later?" Rest of the trip went fine. We missed out on Grand Canyon but it was ok. I did not get to write everything but be careful of this company

Yelp
Shoutout to Russell for making my first trip to California a great one! We rented out a campervan for 9 days and drove to several great locations and national park campgrounds across California. From picking up the van to returning it, we received great service and the van came with everything we needed for our trip and it looked just as it did in pictures. Their rental prices are great compared to other rental services and we would definitely rent from them again for our next road trip!

Yelp
I had an amazing experience renting the Hi5 camper van from Travellers Autobarn. The Hi5 Campervan was spotless and well-maintained. I really enjoyed the double fridge, the open layout, and how smoothly the van handles the road. The staff provided excellent service, offering helpful advice and ensuring a hassle-free experience. I highly recommend Travellers Autobarn to anyone looking for a fantastic camper van rental company. They made my journey unforgettable. Thank you, Travellers Autobarn!!!

Yelp
I booked this camper van on Feb 4, 2020 for a trip I was expecting to take April 2-7, 2020. On March 19, 2020, it became clear that I would not be able to go on this trip due to the COVID-19 outbreak and on March 19, 2020 "The California State Public Health Officer and Director of the California Department of Public Health is ordering all individuals living in the State of California to stay home or at their place of residence, except as needed to maintain continuity of operation of the federal critical infrastructure sectors." It has been complicated to work with them to get a resolution, including having taken over a month to get the situation addressed with having to cancel the booking due to the global pandemic. The company has decided to work with me to address the situation, I am optimistic they will follow through.

Yelp
I came across Travellers Autobarn on Instagram a while back and saved it away for future reference. Sadly, we had to use their services because of a very unfortunate event that required my wife and son and I to drive 24 hours to see family. However, even though the circumstances were less than desired, our experience with Travellers Autobarn was nothing less than superb! I honestly have nothing to complain about. In fact, I have been raving about them to all of my friends. We only worked with Ryan, and he definitely hooked us up and was incredible. In the front, there are three good-sized seats. In the back there is a little kitchenette with a small refrigerator (fully powered by the solar panel), a microwave (must be plugged into power to use), a gas two-burner stove (2.5 gallon tank outside), a sink (16 gallon water tank), and ample storage for food. Then there are two bench seats that straddle a table that can be converted into a particularly large bed. I'm 6' and I had to sleep a little diagonally, but it wasn't too bad! And above the table/bed area, there is a second bed that can be pulled out and extended nearly the entire length of the back of the van. It's a little close to the ceiling, but it didn't bother our son. In the end, I could not have asked for a better experience. I will definitely rent from them again!

Yelp
The best thing about traveling in a campervan is the ease, flexibility, and ability to make detours if needed. We picked up our Kuga Campervan in Las Vegas. The Travelers Autobarn office is just west of the the main strip and easy to find. We arrived early in the day to begin the registration process and campervan orientation. The process was quick and easy. The Kuga Campervan is a hightop van conversion with couches, a table, two beds, propane stove, sink, water, kitchen, interior lights, fan, window shades and solar power. We also had the free living package which included kitchen pots, pans, utensils, cups and accessories. It also included sleeping bags, sheets, pillows and towels. The package pretty much made it super easy to get in the van and go. The Travelers Autobarn staff member was super friendly and provided an orientation of the basic operation of the campervan. The campervan drives like a normal van, but learning about the camper functions was helpful. We had charted a route around Utah and Arizona visiting a number of towns, parks, roadside attractions and hot springs. The day that we started a weather system passed through which made the temperatures drop in the northern part of our route. We simply flipped our route to avoid the cold weather and traveled the southern route first. By the time that we circled north the weather had warmed up and it was perfect weather for exploring. Traveling in a campervan made it super easy to be flexible with our route and schedule. On our seven day trip we visited Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, Horseshoe Bend National Monument. Monument Valley National Park, Arches National Park, Mystic Hotsprings, Zion National Park, Cedar Breaks National Monument, Meadow Hotsprings, Valley of Fire State Park and Fremont Indian State Park. If we were not traveling in a campervan it is unlikely that we would have had the flexibility to camp anytime and anywhere. We would have never found and stayed at Fremont Indian State Park. It ended up being a gem of a park and a great overall experience. This campervan camping adventure opened up my mind to new opportunities and travels. So much fun! Yelp
Loved renting through Travellers Autobarn for my 7-day Southwest road trip making stops in Las Vegas, Southern Utah, and Northern Arizona. It was my first time camping and visiting that region of the U.S. and the Kuga camper van added a lil level of luxury to the overall experience. The LA staff was super friendly, quick pick up/check in, and the living equipment add on is def worth it. The bed was super easy to set up and pretty comfortable to me (I'm 5'4). I really enjoyed being able to sleep and shower in nature; allowed me to be completely off grid. But if you plan on mainly using the microwave, it only works when plugged in at a full hookup site so plan accordingly. We did have a little car trouble on our first day. The gear shift stopped working as soon as we arrived in Las Vegas (a 5 hr drive) so it put us a bit behind schedule. Thankfully we were in a major city & not in the middle of no where! Travellers Autobarn was able to quickly arrange for us to get a new camper van the next morning so s/o to good customer service. Aside from the first day, we didn't have any other mechanical issues for the rest of the trip. Also make sure to budget a good amount for gas. We put $100 in our tank which didn't fill up the tank and it was on empty after a 3hr drive. So you can imagine how much was spent solely on gas for seven days. All in all, I had an AMAZING experience renting through Travellers Autobarn. I highly recommend this company if you are planning a road trip, want to experience van life, or want to fully immerse yourself in a new adventure! Feel free to check out my adventure on my blog: eileensalazar.com

Yelp
Great camper vans and price! I would recommend them to anyone wishing to do a camper van trip anywhere. The vans are in great condition and function well all around. The only problem I found is the AC outlets only work when the van is connected to power at camping sites. If no external power is applied, they will not work. There are plenty of USB charging options on the van though, but if you absolutely had to charge something with regular AC connectors, you either have to plug in to RV/camping electrical outlets or buy a DC to AC converter and plug it in to your DC cigarette connection like we did. Gas mpg isn't the greatest either if you are used to driving cross over SUVs or smaller vehicles, but definitely beats RVs or Class C RVs. Their check-in/check-out process is fast and effective with great customer service. We had great time riding in one for 12 days and would do it again for sure.

Yelp
This was my first camper van experience. It took about an hour to pick-up the vehicle since they were severely under staff. I took the van for a 3 day weekend camping trip. Pros: -Clean interior and bed were easy to set-up. -The frig and stove ran great. -Never had a problem with electricity and was able to charge my phone and ipad for the following day. -Van and AC runs great fine (some struggle going uphill) Cons: -Pipe under sink was leaking so we could not wash dishes inside the van. -Exterior was dusty and had to mean the windshield to improve visibility. -The steering wheel was pretty worn out since the van had ~ 135K miles. Overall, it was a good experience and I am happy to have tried it. This was a step up from camping on the floor and provided extra luxuries like a frig. The camper van provided a lot of flexibility and I can see myself renting one again in the future for longer cross-country trips.

Yelp
Response to Bastian: I do not think it is unreasonable to be asking for a refund when we found a COVID-19 extraction buffer in one of YOUR vans, in the midst of a PANDEMIC. We also were the ones that told Sam that we were going to forfeit our chances of getting a full refund, so that we could write this review and warn future customers about your service. Sam had first told us to write an email saying we won't post the review unless we get a refund, meaning it would look like we were blackmailing you. We knew that wasn't okay, and cared more about people learning what happened to US using YOUR service. You still aren't taking any responsibility and are minimizing everything that has happened. I really hope people see your response for what it is, rude and childish. Future customers are going to end up reading your response to my review and will see how nasty your customer service is. Long live the internet indeed.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to rent the KUGA campervan for a trip to Yellowstone. We got to the front office door (arrows punted to go there for new pickups) and it was closed. We ended up coming through the garage and found the representatives there? As soon as we sat in the car we wiped the front down with Clorox wipes and it was filthy dirty ! This is during a pandemic might I add. Crumbs from previous drivers in cup holders. The wipes ended up black. I mean the least you can do is wipe it down. I find this annoying since they had memos all over their office mentioning burning man and how they will charge people $1000 if they return the car dirty but can't clean the cars themselves before new clients begin their trip. 3 words to sum up our trip so far, FILTHY, FRUSTRATING, AND ANNOYED BEYOND BELIEF! We are now driving back and I just can't not write about their frustrating tire pressure system. This ruined our entire trip. During check in the guy told us about their tire pressure system and how we should keep an eye out. We've made at least 36 stops since an hour after picking up our car to check the tire pressure. Not only is the pressure fine in all the tires each time we stop but when you check the psi on the system it glitches. It will show one tire as 51 and the rest (-------) dashes. We have been anxious for over 72 hours for no freaking reason. This is not what you want to go through or even think about while you're driving in areas you don't know. Ruined our entire experience and trip. Completely freaking stressful!!!!!! Also when you have a question or concern don't expect someone to answer your call. They will call you back in an hour or so. You are basically on your own. In response to Bastian : Did crumbs also fly in to the car from the wildfires? You're quick to post a response on yelp but never gave me a call. Your customer service sucks and so do your vehicles.

Yelp
Adventure seekers beware! Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for an unnecessarily bumpy ride when doing business with Travellers Autobarn. Get insurance -- like, LIFE insurance. It brings me no joy whatsoever to post this negative and accurate review of my recent July 2020 experience with Travellers Autobarn. I'm not only disappointed because the rented me a van with only one working headlight. And I'm not only upset because the vehicle battery was not properly charged or connected -- a horrifying situation which severely impacted the operation of the in-van fridge and spoiled all of our food for the entire holiday weekend! I'm not only upset because the check engine light continued coming on through my journey. It's not only that...it's also the fact that, after totaling fueling the van at a gas station to 100%, the gas gauge dropped to "E" and remained on "Empty" status for the duration of the trip. Did I mention the key became stuck in the ignition? I would strongly advise you to think twice -- or maybe even more -- before renting one of these dangerous vehicles. Jarrod and Vince at the San Francisco/Hayward, California drop-off location assured me that someone on behalf of Travellers would followup with me following my horrible experience with the company. I was advised to wait about 24 hours to receive a customer service followup from someone named Sam. I waited two weeks. Nothing. I then called Las Vegas, Nevada-based Travellers employee Cody who seemed highly disinterested in finding empathy let alone a supervisor or manager I could formally submit feedback to about my horrendous Travellers Autobarn experience. Remember "wait for Sam" from earlier? Cody advised me to wait yet another 48 hours for "Sam" to contact me to discuss the horrible experience and lack of customer service. I waited another week. Then, instead of getting a call from Sam or anyone at Travellers Autobarn -- I picked up the phone and made a call of my own -- to Chase Credit Card Services. I advised them to chargeback the entire amount of my rental to Travellers. My next call will be to the Better Business Bureau, but I wanted to be sure to post this first! Warning other travelers is important and necessary. Still considering booking with Travellers Autobarn? Proceed with the utmost caution, lower your expectations and kiss any idea of an amazing adventure goodbye! The silence from Travellers Autobarn speaks volumes. How sad and unprofessional for the company to have not contacted me, as promised, and potentially resolved this. Beware, traveler -- and be safe. I will never do any sort of business with Travellers Autobarn ever again. -- UPDATE -- (July 30, 2020) -- Soon after the above review was posted to Yelp, Travellers Autobarn did finally reach me via phone and email. It is incredibly unfortunate that the company did not reach out until I publicly shared my concerns about their service. I feel it is important to update this review to reflect the fact that the company did finally attempt to resolve this matter. While a dispute for the initial charge has already been filed with my bank, Travellers Autobarn also agreed that the right thing to do would be to provide a refund, based on our negative and avoidable experience. The email message from the company reads, in part: "I am completely aware that if we had communicated better with you we would not be in such a heated situation." Absolutely correct. Additionally, let's assume the word 'better' also means 'earlier!' I appreciate the company finally acknowledging my concern, regardless of how late their response. -- UPDATE --

Yelp
Super amazing team and responsive and helpful both online and at the location. The van is perfect. Easy to drive. Fun to live in. So many people asked us where we got it and how much it was. Can't wait to do it again !!

Yelp
We rented the campervan from LAX location as part of a relocation rental for 6 days, paying 100$ a day extra above the 3 free days to move the vehicle from LAX to SFO. We purchased full insurance for 200$ for additional piece of mind. We picked up car and door service by Jordan was great, but the car had issues as soon as we drove out of the parking lot. The car charging port (1 of 2 ) was not working. This was absolutely important for us to get rectified so we turned back 30 minutes into our drive and went back to get it addressed. Falling short of offering to give us a car charger adapter that increases number of ports, there were no replacement vehicles that we had an option to swap out. Of note, the lone car charging port was to be used for charging 3 phones, GPS connection and also music which would be super essential on a 6 day roadtrip. We had to just accept the faulty car and went off on our trip to yosemite as we had no more time left to lose and were scheduled to climb half dome the next day early morning. 2-3 hrs into the drive the car AC broke down in the california heat!! and 3 days later the check engine light was on. They also forgot to give us camping chairs as listed. We contacted customer service who said we should just report the AC break when we return car and if we buy camping chairs they would reimburse (which they did). After returning car, the company did not want to credit us for our miserable experience with cars quality issues despite multiple emails to customer service. Other companies like JUCY and escape have better customer service, cheaper/comparable rates and on my multiple times renting with them it has never had issues with engine light and AC. While our trip was fantastic hiking and roadtrip, it was soured by the poor quality of the car. I will have to think long and hard before renting with them again. Both locations LAX and SFO staff was great, I predominantly have an issue with the cars quality issues and the handling of the complaints by customer service over email. Addendum to company response 7/27/2020 Response to company. There was 1 extra USB port in the car near the kitchen. The other two in the back panel (white did not work) and it was known to the LAX center. My AC broke day 1 and as mentioned in my email to you, we were in limited reception with a timed itinerary so we did not want to spend a day trying to get it rectified waiting at a car shop. I expect an international company like yours to have a strict QC on its vehicles before it sends on the road. Also, as you know, relocation deals are based on time and currently other companies do not have them. My car AC/Car charger failed on first day of rental, so if I could I would have returned it but as it was a planned vacation we had to power through all the issues. Our vacation was great overall and it was INSPITE of a broken car rental. Thank you for reviewing the email communication.

Yelp
What an amazing trip! Went to Gila national forest in New Mexico, back through Arizona and then to Joshua tree! Really took advantage of the unlimited mileage and took the scenic route every time! Russel checked me in and was super helpful and can tell he enjoys this line of work! The van worked great, was at about 200,000 miles but didn't have any kind of an issue.

Yelp
Loved it. First time renting a campervan and it was such a great experience. The Kuga was roomy and comfortable for the two of us and drove pretty well for a large van. I loved that we could fully stand inside the van and there was a ton of storage so it never felt cluttered. We were able to fit two bikes in it too. I've already recommended it to many friends, def would rent again!

Yelp
It is perfect for a mini road trip! There's a lot of storage and UNLIMITED miles! We took a roadtrip from Temecula to the Grand Canyon ( A good 7 HR drive ). Super comfy considering you'll be driving for hours. When we got the van, there were balls of hair though, so I would consider doing a thorough inspection and cleaning considering people are using the van for camping for days.

Yelp
Super old and under powered vans. 18 wheel Simi trucks were passing us. They bought the cheapest vans and looks like they got high school teens to do the conversion. Not even cruise control. The big screens were broken that they tried to tape close with masking tape and we got bug bites all over. Driver window not seal so +60mph and wind noise so loud you can't hear your passenger shouting at you. Solar panel charger that we paid extra for didn't really work so small fridge was not cold enough to maintain milk, much less raw meat. Worst mistake renting from this shady place. Never again. Oh, watch your head on that back door overhead latch. You'll hit your head on it at least once a day. Cheapest van models.

Yelp
I'm kind of disappointed with the overall experience. Prior to arrival we were meant to fill out an online check-in, which did not work, not even the travel agency I booked the van from could figure out why. When we picked up our campervan from Christchurch, everything seemed a bit unorganised and at first they did not even seem to find our booking. After finally finding our reservation, we could choose extra features to add to our van. We chose the portable toilet and a solar shower, but no additional camping gear, as we purposely brought our own sleeping bags, pots, cutlery etc. (which needed a huge amount of space in our luggage) in order to save money. What we thought was strange, was that our campervan aleady stood outside with a porta potty added and sleeping bags and cutlery inside, even though we could select them for extra money in advance. But well, as we rented a campervan from another company before, which just had cutlery for free, we figured it was the same for this one. However, it was only for us to find out, when we returned our van, that we had to pay an additional "compulsory fee" for the sleeping bags and cutlery that were already in the campervan. Would have been okay if they had told us prior to our booking, so we would not have wasted 10kg+ of luggage by bringing our own stuff. Just one day after we got the van, the housebattery broke (which I don't blame the company for), but then they "organised" an appointment at a battery shop for us, and said they'd call ahead for us, so we only had to go to the address they would send us. So far so good. Upon our arrival at the shop, no one knew what we were talking about and who we were, as they told us they did not receive any calls whatsoever. However the guys at the battery shop were amazing and did an aweful lot of phone calls with Travellers Autobarn (which apparently were very unfriendly to the battery shop guy, because he needed a lot of information to handle payment). So after wasting one day at the repair shop we were finally able to keep going. On the day of our return, the guy taking our van back then asked us why we did not already pay for the extras we booked, as we already should have paid for them on pick-up. Additionally to the things mentioned above, the campervan itself looked already pretty worn and is really only equiped with the very basic things for a car, there is no cruise control, no navigation, not even the kilometer range, that you got left with your current fuel level, is displayed, which is very inconvenient. So yeah... Besides the awesome country of New Zealand, not a very pleasant experience for us and we defenitely wouldn't recommend, nor will we book here again.

Yelp
Van worked great, was easy to set up and break down the beds. The fridge stayed surprisingly really cold which we appreciated. People working were nice and helpful too. Would rent again.

Yelp
My brother came from Spain and needed a camper van to go on a trip. I immediately thought of Russell at Travellers Auto Barn. I've dealt with him before and he always goes above and beyond when it comes to customer service. My brother and I were very pleased with the service that Russell provided and showed us all that the van had to offer. I will definitely be recommending more of my family members to Russell for future Camper Van rentals. Very clean vans and kept in good shape.

Yelp
I lucked up on this company via Groupon and decided to give them a try! This review reflects my second rental in 4 months so ya, I am a fan. The pickup location near LAX is convenient and the staff are rather chill guys who seem to have the routine down. Aside from being camping-ready, the vans may also come equipped with alarm and/or backup camera- AND YOU WILL NEED IT! However, regardless of how the van is equipped, prepare to be a little McGyver-ish to address issues. That being said, ya, I'm STILL a fan as the van issues challenged my skills and creativity. Now knowing what you know, go for it!

Yelp
Just dropped off our Kuga camper van and can say for anyone considering renting through Traveller's - you are better off sleeping in your car. This review is for a mix of the car condition but more importantly the lack of professionalism within the company. Picked up on Wednesday 1/27/21. My friend and I got to our first spot for the night in AZ and as soon as we got out for the first time we had door issues. The back door to the cabin area would not latch. We were able to get it closed finally and did not experience any problem until our third night. The door would not latch or close at all! We were told the rental includes 24/7 roadside assistance so we called. The roadside assistance doesn't even help- they didn't care and they wouldn't have had anyone come help us with the door. So what is the meaning of 24/7 roadside assistance I ask. Spoke with a man named Tom who basically laughed it off and told us to "tape the door together and get a hotel". I was honestly appalled at this response and offended. So my friend and I were basically left to figure it out on our own. It was already late at night so we had to sleep all night with the car door ajar. In the morning, we had to drive 24 miles with a door that didn't close, to buy bungee cords to rig it ourselves. We then had to drive from Phoenix to Westminster, CA with the door that didn't close. I was told I'd receive an email with this noted so I didn't have any problem. I did not receive such email. Additionally, the greywater cap was missing so we realized the whole time we were camping the car was just releasing the used water everywhere - which is ILLEGAL mind you. We cleaned the car, filled the tank and made it to their office to drop off by 2:11 (drop off time is 3pm). NOBODY WAS THERE. so again I had to call their 1-800 #. I was told to just leave it parked on the street which is the most insane thing I've heard all week- drop off a rental in my name with a door that doesn't close in the heart of Inglewood?! Yeah I don't think so. I took pictures and parked it in their back alley area to ensure I would not be held liable in case someone sees the open door and decides to have a party inside. As we were driving away the owner/manager Bastian came driving down the ramp - so someone was there but apparently rather than deal with me live in person they would rather wait to reply and say my review is unfair like they do the other poor reviews. I will wait for the childlike lack of accountability here on Yelp. If you are considering renting through here - reconsider because it's cheap but nothing could be more true about these camper vans - YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Next time I will splurge or drive my own car. ADDENDUM in regards to the response from Owner for anyone interested - I NEVER got that personal response they were allegedly going to make.

Yelp
This location is severely understaffed so be prepared to wait a LONG time. I'm still sitting here as I write this waiting to return the keys....only one guy working- not his fault they are just really understaffed!!! As for the van itself, this is my second time using this company and it's great. Everything is super easy and intuitive. Basically 1 star for being understaffed, 5 stars for the van itself.

Yelp
Rented the Kuga campervan over the long weekend and I must say it was amazing experience ! So impressed by the customer service . It was so convenient to have campervan with stove , microwave and fridge and sink during the trip . The staff was very professional and prepared complete check in check out contactless . The prices are great ! And comes with unlimited mileage which is a bonus . Although it comes with table but I would recommend to bring extra table and chair if you like to sit outside . Easy fits three people , with queen size bed at bottom and twin size on top . Do watch the video before you rent , it gives lots of good information about the van . I'm completely impressed and would be renting again . Highly recommend everyone to try out the campervan!

Yelp
Just do it. We were super nervous to rent a van from a company we had never heard of and our experience turned out to be great. 3 adults, 12 days. Pick-up was easy (and COVID safe), the van was spotless, perfectly designed for our needs and we had zero complaints. We took a cross-country trip and ended up driving during a 120 degree day (disgusting) and still had zero issues with our Kuga van. Highly, highly recommend. We will definitely rent with Traveller's Auto Barn.

Yelp
They call their customers punks :( they deliver terrible customer service and won't refund you, even during a pandemic when we cannot travel. Not recommending them to anyone. Really disappointing they call their valuable customers punks.

Yelp
Their customer service is poor. They are unkind and lack empathy to their clients and customers. An RV is an amazing way to see the county, I would just recommend using anyone else. Literally, anyone.

Yelp
Jordan promised us a refund and it hasn't been done for 12 days ... You are lies, I want my money back,

Yelp
I had some issues with the vehicle, like warning lights in the dashboard and constant beeping noises. Customer service through the phone was particularly bad over the winter holidays when we rented the camper van. Russell at the Inglewood store was really nice when we picked and returned the vehicle. He helped to solve the issues we were having and because of his great service I give it an overall 4 stars.

Yelp
My husband and I LOVED and thoroughly enjoyed our first campervan experience! The kuga campervan was well equipped, very comfortable and thoughtfully designed, fit our needs for a week-long trip, and we had very pleasant pickup and dropoff experiences with TA. Highly recommend!

Lonnie C.

Yelp
Russell did a great job getting us off on our way for our first campervan experience. The van was great and held up so well on an epic trip covering over 1,500 miles! When we arrived back, Russell and Olivia were there to help us make a smooth transition out of the van and on our way to the airport. Would highly recommend this company nd will definitely use them again in the future.

Yelp
We were left stranded and told they didn't want to use the man power to bring us another van. We reached out to the emergency help line every single day of our rental of the vehicle that broke down. The vehicle would die about 50 percent of the time when the engine was idling down. It randomly started screeching for about ten to 20 min at a time after every bump. We called and were told sorry we will give you a refund for the days the vehicle didn't work after I told the guy several times that it's been broken since the first day and we had called several times. When I asked what we were supposed to do because we were stranded now, I was told the refund we gave you should be close to enough to take a bus back to San Francisco. The best part is when I told the guy I have videos with the time and dates of it happening and call logs where we had tried to call them he said well the vehicle worked because you were able to drive it ... you would think when someone tells you the power steering and breaks are failing at 35 mph they would surely think this isn't a working vehicle we should give them a refund or another bus to finish the trip or somewhere to stay. Buttt wait the story gets better we contacted outdoorsy ( we booked through them) and after the very helpful lady agreed that it was very unprofessional she contacted the company and she was told we would receive hotel accommodations for the nights we were stranded. She said I would receive a call momentarily.... 3 hours go by and she calls back to make sure we had gotten in touch with them, I informed her that y'all in fact did not call back and she called again she then got no answer. I called the following day spoke to a guy he said he was aware of the situation and would work on it immediately and get us somewhere to stay as well as transportation and guess what ??? No call back .. I called back got no answer, this is the most unprofessional company I have ever seen. Which was highlighted by the intelligence of the individual that told us to essentially be careful until he calls us back for a replacement van and drum roll please.... The call never came back .. when we explained that the breaks and power steering had just failed going in excess of 35 mph. We appreciate the very helpful services at the autobarn... can't wait to tell people how fun the rolling death trap was and how accommodating they were ! That's sarcasm btw I feel like I had to explain that after talking to the super genius working in their customer service ( if they ever read this which is unlikely because again they can't even call their customers back. Stay far away from this company ... walk if you have to. Just know if you run into any problem they could care less as long as they were paid. I'll post the pictures and videos of the vehicle we had and the amount of times we called and got zero calls back or help lol hope this helps.

Yelp
Pros: You can use your own insurance as an option. Some auto insurance companies will provide a temporary binder to cover a recreational vehicle rental. Most RV rental companies force you to select their insurance which can add another $150-200. Unlimited mileage. Solar panels for USB charging. Solar-charged fridge that never went out. It was nice to be able to wash your hands or dishes anytime with the sink. Cons: No parking for personal vehicles at the rental area. Meaning street parking only or you have to drive two cars there. More usage on gas. Vehicle can still get hot at night, but there's 2 window screens at the top that you can keep open for ventilation. Have to be very efficient at storage because if you want to use the bed or drive, everything needs to be properly secured. Our vehicle only had manual locks which was bothersome. I think some vehicles might be newer. It just depends on chance. The fees on returning the vehicle with a full propane and gas tank are in the rental agreement. There are no hidden fees and the employees on-site are pretty thorough which walking you through the vehicle operation. They also leave a buffer of several days in between each reservation to allow time to properly sanitize. The only thing that was missed was the instruction on how to empty the gray water tank. It took us awhile to figure out on our own but we got the hang of it eventually.

Alberto M.

Yelp
I can't express how much I enjoyed my trip with this company. I drove through 10 states and visited several national parks. I was able to eat and sleep in the same space and less things to stress about. Will definitely be using you again for future trips.

Joy B.

Yelp
During covid there are limited safe feeling vacation options. The guys at Travelers all wore masks and kept the social distances when we were checking in and out. I highly recommend renting a van, I suggest the Kuga. The USB ports, fridge, sink, stove, and microwave all make it easy to camp. In general camping is the easiest way to stay away from others and still have a real vacation away from noise. All in all, we are planning to rent from them again for our next adventure.
