Travelodge Cardiff Atlantic Wharf

We had 2 accessible rooms which were very spacious and had everything we needed.|We stayed on the 30/12/24||There are no plugs by the side of the bed which we needed for the cpap machines.|The staff and housekeeping were fast and efficient in supplying extension leads to both rooms. |There was some one available at all times. |Even though there might not appear to be some one on the front desk you are on camera and they come out to you straight away.||Buffet breakfast was great & good value. Everything you could want or need.|Unfortunately they had an oven down on the morning we stayed but they stayed on top of everything and without showing it to the guests. ||It was very busy that morning but nothing was too much trouble when so many people were asking for things. |I commend the breakfast staff, they worked hard and extremely well under pressure.|All the staff throughout the stay were friendly and professional.

Friendly reception. Free parking, clean room, comfy beds. All you need for a quick night stop. Vending machine available for drinks/snacks. Kettle with coffee and tea in room. Bar and restaurant available but did not use as just wanted a place to sleep overnight. Very close to Cardiff Bay (5mins walk) with Red Dragon Centre across the parking lot. Would recommend and use again.

Please be aware this hotel is due to close for demolition. That said it was apparent that repairs were not being done unless absolutely necessary. Unfortunately there was no hot water at time of arrival - 4 p.m. until I woke up next morning. Engineer was waiting for a part. The door from the car park broke which meant walking around the dark edge of the building to get in. I must say though the staff are doing their best. I had a warm welcome and staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and inviting. Heating had been left on - nice in a cold day. Breakfast was OK. I didn't go down till 9.30 a.m. so it was only luke warm. Location is good but the whole area is being redeveloped so it looks run down. Easy access to Millennium Centre, Bay area and city centre.

Very nice Travelodge with lovely friendly staff, the room and public areas were very clean. Breakfast was brilliant and everything is fresh, definitely worth a try if you haven’t been yet. ||Additional bonus is the car park is free…… 👏 and it’s only a short walk to the bay!

I love this travel lodge. It's known as a thankless task in hospitality. Would anyone like it never to be thanked for dedicated hard work. I think not. Thank you goes a long way especially these days. Empathy is what keeps these staff happy. And in return. You have a place of comfort. If you Don't say how much you appreciate. What would you do if the travel lodge wasnt there. Think now. Thank you is more precious than anything. You want to feel appreciated. Its right to appreciate the staff in return. Wonderful staff. Toilet not flushing through. Given just 2 towels and one hand towel for a couple for 3 nights, with a message in the bathroom to reuse towels to save water! Internet so slow, ended up using phone data all through. Service poor: asked for pressing iron was told to come get it myself. Breakfast was good though.

Sophie and the team welcomed us at the Cardiff Travelodge which was an oasis of calm. The team were polite and attentive and catered to our every need, giving us star treatment at the delicious breakfast buffet. Thank you for your amazing service. Highly recommended.

I have stayed in various Travelodge locations in the past and have always found them to be clean and in very good condition, which is why I chose Travelodge Cardiff Atlantic Wharf for my recent visit. Unfortunately, this was a disappointing experience.||||The bathroom in my room was far below the standard I’ve come to expect. It was not clean, and there was visible mould in several areas. The general hygiene of the bathroom was poor, which made me feel uncomfortable using the facilities. In fact, I felt so uneasy about the cleanliness that I avoided taking a shower during my stay.||||I hope this was an isolated incident, but it has left me questioning the level of care and maintenance at this particular location. Travelodge has always been reliable for me, but this experience fell far short of expectations. I sincerely hope the management addresses these hygiene concerns, as the rest of the hotel was as expected.

Of the Travelodge's in Cardiff you'll defiantly get a more peaceful stay here and I think location wise its got a lot to offer. Its a just a few minutes walk from the Millennium Centre and all the activities and eateries of the bay, while still being just a 15 minute walk into the city centre but with a bus stop outside too. Its only a few years old so all everything is very modern and clean and comfortable. Obviously your not going to get luxury from Travelodge but the bed was comfy and I was quite happy with the spacious room. I think its also cheaper than the town version and has onsite parking.

Ok Travelodges are not renowned for their personable environments or boutique style attention to detail but they are recognised for their affordability. The only downsides I associate with travelodges are their often tired, worn out and uninspired decor and their unromantic motorway side locations. No so with the Travelodge at Atlantic Wharf Cardiff bay. They have obviously tried to create a bit of a flagship model hotel for the group here. It's light, airy, bright and clean plus its only 2 minutes walk to the bars and restaurants of Cardiff Bay and 10 minutes to the City Centre. So if you're not planning a romantic weekend you could do a lot worse than book this during one of its many offer periods.
