The hotel is known for its basic standard, so I arrived without great expectations. The room was compact, with minimal space to move around, a narrow and simple bathroom, and limited complimentary Wi-Fi unless you pay extra. Some general maintenance would be beneficial, such as repainting walls and removing guest stains from them and from the carpets.||On the positive side, the room was acceptably clean, the bed and pillows were unexpectedly, but pleasantly comfortable, and the breakfast was lovely, reasonably priced, and included vegan options. The staff were kind and helpful, and the location is excellent, close to the marina.||For coming by car, there’s a huge car park available.||||Overall, on a cost–benefit basis, I would recommend it and would happily return if visiting Cardiff again.

Had a great stay at the hotel breakfast was really nice for a buffet style much better then i thought it was going to be. Staff were all really friendly, Liv who was on reception was amazing and helped me out to no end so big thank you to her. Great distance from the bay.

The service as always was perfect. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Rooms were spotless and comfortable. Free tea and coffee is always nice. Special thanks to Lito. We really enjoyed our stay in Cardiff. Location was good too. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and main town only one train ride away.

The room was clean, with the windows open and curtains closed it was cool on a hot day. A fan was provided if needed. Liz on reception was very helpful and informative of the hotel and surroundings. Would definitely stay here again.

This Travelodge is now showing a lack of investment.|Insufficient warning for all Guests that there is a very active & noisy building site next door. Car parking & exiting etc is now getting complicated.|We had an evening meal, which is not value for money. The main meal was nice, but the side dish, of Corn on the Cob at £3:85p was a joke! just one small portion (see attached photo) was Not Value for Money! Raised this with a member of staff, was told sorry but that's the portion size!|We would now advise to eat elsewhere as what Travelodge now provides is mostly Not Value for Money (the present new menu, is limited for choice and is all about maximum profit with generally small portion sizes).|Rooms are OK, but there is now a distinct lack of investment (as a new Travelodge is going to be built next door in a few years). In the meantime, Travelodge could still undertake minimum investment, like changing the AC ports to include USB charging ports & place USB charging ports next to the headboard lights.|If you book your room early enough, it's still worth staying here, just beware of this Travelodge's limitations.

We booked online and didn’t realise there was no air conditioning. As luck would have it we checked in on a 31 degree day and it was uncomfortably warm during the night. Our online booking didn’t pass our prepaid breakfast through to the hotel but the front desk crew were great at sorting it out.||Basic accomodation at the back of a large car park near an amusement centre. So it’s hardly a destination resort. There is a straight and level walk into the city centre - about 30 minutes. There are also trains and buses.||It was fairly quiet at night. I was worried when we were told the bar remained open until 5am, but we had no issue.||Happy hour is 5 to 7pm and you get two of the same drink for 7 pounds.||Breakfast was pretty dismal.||Wifi only worked on one device. There may be a way to get extra devices going but luckily I could just use my own data.||Car parking is free and plentiful. Staff were all lovely.

Great hotel with a very clean room , good mattress and shower. All in good condition. Great if you want a standard no frills room but with added cleanliness and very practical. 5 minutes walk from bay. Good parking and great helpful staff especially Kim who was there for all our needs, information and generally very lovely. Really made our stay memorable. Bar and breakfast available if you don’t want to eat out although everything you could want on the beautiful bay. Would definitely recommend!

The room we had was very clean but beginning to show signs of being tired. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was fine for a budget hotel. Staff were very helpful. It is a great location, within easy reach of the bay and the town centre by foot. There is quite a bit of building work going on close by. Didn't trouble us as we were out and about most of the day. But if you want a lie in, maybe ask for a room on the other side of the hotel.

Yelp
Of the Travelodge's in Cardiff you'll defiantly get a more peaceful stay here and I think location wise its got a lot to offer. Its a just a few minutes walk from the Millennium Centre and all the activities and eateries of the bay, while still being just a 15 minute walk into the city centre but with a bus stop outside too. Its only a few years old so all everything is very modern and clean and comfortable. Obviously your not going to get luxury from Travelodge but the bed was comfy and I was quite happy with the spacious room. I think its also cheaper than the town version and has onsite parking.

Yelp
Ok Travelodges are not renowned for their personable environments or boutique style attention to detail but they are recognised for their affordability. The only downsides I associate with travelodges are their often tired, worn out and uninspired decor and their unromantic motorway side locations. No so with the Travelodge at Atlantic Wharf Cardiff bay. They have obviously tried to create a bit of a flagship model hotel for the group here. It's light, airy, bright and clean plus its only 2 minutes walk to the bars and restaurants of Cardiff Bay and 10 minutes to the City Centre. So if you're not planning a romantic weekend you could do a lot worse than book this during one of its many offer periods.
