The hotel is conveniently located, making it easy to access key parts of the city. However, the room could use some updates— the carpet is worn, and the toilet seat and bathtub are stained, which could be replaced with minimal effort. As for the buffet breakfast, it's not worth the $20; you'd be better off grabbing some bread and spreads from Woolworths and preparing a simple meal in your room. On the bright side, the staff are friendly, which adds a positive touch to the overall experience.

Well situated within walking distance to Salamanca, the dock area, shops, restaurants and cafes. Parking is reasonable at $15 per night and we were lucky enough to park on site. We received a warm welcome and directed to our room on the second floor. The room was a reasonable size, bed very comfortable, water hot and WiFi good. We didn’t book in for breakfast so can’t comment there. Now, I did book the cheaper Compact Queen room. We only needed to sleep so didn’t really need anything else. Sadly, I didn’t sleep the first night. There was a constant hum all night as though someone was using machinery or idling their car. I tossed and turned and after stuffing cotton wool in my ears I managed a couple of hours sleep. In the morning I looked out of the window to find the noise came from a bank of air conditioning fans attached to the IBIS next door. There was no way I could spend our second night in that room!! I went to reception and explained my plight. The staff on duty on the morning of the 22nd of December were so helpful. I think the hotel was fairly heavily booked but they kindly moved us to the 6th floor well away from the fans. I was very grateful and had a great sleep the second night. We would recommend the Travelodge as a convenient property and a reasonably priced one.

Do not stay at this hotel. The walls are paper thin, so you hear EVERYTHING—yes, EVERYTHING, if you know what I mean. The whole setup is bizarre (see photo). Who thought it was a good idea to cram the sink so close to the toilet that your elbow brushes it? Who looked at that and thought, "Yeah, that’s totally normal and not awkward at all"? The carpet feels soooo dirty, and it’s ridiculous they don’t provide slippers. Actually, they do—but only if you’re willing to pay $6! Oh, and add another $5 for service fee!On top of that, when I asked about why the water in the shower was lukewarm, and the response I got was that it’s because the hotel was at full capacity. How exactly is that my problem?! The receptionist told me to run the water for 10 minutes to "fix" it… 10 minutes? Really? What happened to being eco-friendly?Honestly, save your money and book somewhere else. It’s incredibly noisy, and you won’t get a peaceful night's sleep here. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The only redeeming qualities are the fitness center, location and the helpful and very nice staff.

The hotel has a good location in the middle of the CBD, couple minutes walking to pubs, cafes and wharf. The room and bathroom are really small, I understand the price paid but I’ve been in better places. Our room had stain on the floor and after the housekeeping service they took our towels away and didn’t leave another one back, we had to go to the reception to ask for towels. The TV wasn’t working.

Staff were all very friendly. Small lift so it can sometimes take a few minutes until you can use it. Room was clean and comfortable. Small room but enough for a couple with one suitcase. Room lacked decoration. Aircon was quiet and worked well.

We booked a king room with early check-in for a holiday with our two kids. Unfortunately, when we arrived, our room wasn't ready. However, Max worked his magic and made it all come together, which we truly appreciated—especially when traveling with kids. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Highly recommend!

We travelled with family - interconnected rooms. Room was good size & beautiful views. Clean & very comfortable. TBH we were very surprised at how good the accommodation was for the price. Especially in December when everything in Hobart is so expensive.

Very good location. Hotel is within walking distance to the Hobart waterfront, Salamanca market, cafes and restaurants. Pricing is also very reasonable and services from the reception area was very good. Overall it was a pleasant stay and I would come back and stay here again if I am in Hobart.

Yelp
Definitely value for money! Located in central Hobart close to salamanca markets, the botanic gardens, and waterfront restaurants, travelodge is a budget-friendly clean place to stay while visiting Hobart. Undercover Secure Parking is around $12 per day and can be paid to Travelodge directly. Buffet breakfast is $16 per day. Includes room service menu. rooms are clean with sweet smelling toiletries - my friend likes to steal bathroom toiletry and she liked it so much that she asked for extras!!?! Clean. Includes TV (can pay for movies). Great heating. Friendly staff Will definitely stay here again 100MB free wi-fi per day which gets used up within minutes (bizarre).
