Ambience: This 1-story motel is set in a rustic country/cabin village style. Family and guest-friendly set up due to amenities such as a pool, playground, and picnic areas. Each room had a lil front porch with two chairs. Not wheelchair-friendly access to the rooms in my prospect viewing, even if there's a few.
Room: We stayed at a "condo-like" room with 2 Queen beds for one night, I think it was #207 or #209, something like that. Nice structures. Particles of the room is dated as there are several hidden things show wear and tear on couches, tables, lamps, floors, and curtains. An yes, as we walked in, the room feels a little grimey, and smell a little like urine as it range from the bathroom to the front door. These are all minor issues to were if cleanliness and maintenance could be improved, this would be a perfect stay. Otherwise, we got intact AC unit that blows excellent air circulation (It got too cold as I woke up the next morning lol, its all good), currenly replaced beds with clean sheets, blankets, duvet/comforters, and mattress look newer and it's quite nice (though a little hard for some people), a decent mini-fridge, and decent intact deadbolt and chain lock, and working porch lights for safety and security.
Service: Great, efficient, and friendly service during the check in/check out experience. No issues with manager and staff at all. The desk person was nice of us to welcome to our check-in a little early than expected schedule as our room is already done to begin with.
Location: Located in safe areas on IH-410 between the airport, and IH-35. Not a sight of hookers, and crackheads/drug dealers. That being said that this is the San Antonio Airport location, this hotel is located far off from other conjoining hotels in the SAIA area.
Breakfast: Just an average continental breakfast you see at other hotels. Oh, you don't know how much I love "hotel" waffles; as good as it gets. Coffee is good, a little bitter, and could be a bit hotter.
Overall, this is quite a decent stay facility, despite all of its amenities. Is that the rooms are a hit-or-miss, and has a lot of potential due to cleanliness and maintenance issues that could've been a lot better with the little more renovation to keep it up-to-date, while keeping it's charm. Especially, for the hotel with its class of $80-$100 value. I'm giving Travelodge San Antonio Airport a 3.5 stars (out of five). Even though, I had struggle between giving a 3 or 4 stars, I finally gave it a 4; service is awesome.
