Guess my age does not compare to the usual clientele, they are more Gen Alpha and Gen Z, next time I think I am going to add some more bucks to my Bozeman accommodation and have en suite bathroom and natural light from windows. Staff is nice and the social area has a piano, kitchen area gives me student dorm vibes, but again that might be for another generation, same as bunk beds and putting on all the sheets myself. Central location however is hard to beat, though. But rethink the choic of laundry softener, the sweet smell is a bit too much. Thanks!!

The 2 stars is for disrespect. The place is run by children and it shows. The 4-person mixed room i stayed in was musty, like one of the other reviewers mentioned. I opened the door all night to air it out. Most of the fans on the premises are broken. The location is great. The price is the cheapest in the area for accommodations.

Location is spot on! Staff is very helpful and super nice. The beds are very hard spring mattress, and the rooms are a bit old, and a little noisy (you can just put your headphones in and your will be fine). A very central and safe hostel to stay at.

Great value for those looking for a no-frills place to stay in Bozeman. I booked a single room for two nights on a trip out to Yellowstone. I felt very safe here as a solo female traveler; it felt much like a dorm. The space could use some spiffing up, but the staff are very friendly and do a great job of keeping the common spaces clean. Free overnight street parking is available a couple of blocks away. Minor complaints: my room was very warm, even with a fan, and the carpet could have used a vacuum. While the hostel itself is very quiet at night, I could also hear noises/footsteps up above.

For the price the private room is nice. Lots of amenities to make a meal or watch TV. Good Wi-Fi and strictly enforced quiet time. The host explained it all.

I am so happy that I found Treasure State Hostel for when I brought my son to college. Everything was clean and the staff was very friendly. This was the first time staying at a hostel and this was a great experience. I loved that they had the linrtary area and the media room to hang out. The kitchen area was perfect to cook meals instead of going out to eat. I did love meeting new people and all the fun stories that everyone had. Oh, I am over 50 and I was a bit apprehensive thinking that I would be that old guys, but I there were all ages of people there. I will be back to visit!

Friendly staff, clean bunks and showers, perfect location within walking distance of restaurants and shopping for anything a hiker might need. Quiet hours were observed, bunk mates were friendly and respectful. A great value for my stay ahead of a 7-day backpacking trip in Yellowstone, would definitely stay again! (Just be aware, if you have a rental car, you may have to park a few blocks away, or pay for the nearby parking garage, but this was a small inconvenience considering the reasonable price.)

The vibe is really creepy and the place always smells like weed. Lots of drinking going on and the staff take off over the kitchen. You can get a room at a hotel for the same price and sleep comfortably! There's literally nothing that this hostel has to offer that you can't get at a regular hotel!

Yelp
As far as hostels go this place was the balls. Priced right where it should be too for what you get. The breakfast runs 8-11am and has fruit, oatmeal, drinks, bagels and various toppings etc. the timing didnt work for me being gone by 645 am. The shared fridge is very large and worked out nicely. The mens bathroom situation was ok with 2 tiled stand up shower stalls but not ideal. Bring shower sandals! You get what you pay for though so no complaints. Even as someone was going to the bathroom in a stall just outside the showers. Haha. Ew. The private room worked great and had an end table, lamp, stand up oscillating fan, standup coat hanger, and a chair. The bed was as good as you can get for 50$ or so a night, with a sheet above you, below you , and a comforter on top. Whoever lives or works in the building upstairs isnt the quietest. The Hostel certainly keeps it toasty warm in there and thank god for the fan to cool me at night and dry my clothes from skiing. The employees i encountered were nice and didnt intrude in any way. The hostel location is 1 block in front of the Downtown bus stop with multiple kinds of buses going to other areas, which were really helpful for skiing. Take the 6:57am blue line bus to walmart. Then jump on the other 7:00am bus to Big Sky Resort. Blue line hours are horrible on weekends for skiers! The Hostel location in downtown was great with plenty of shops, stores, and places to grab a bite to eat. Check out is firmly 11am. If you check in after 10pm you get charged a $10 fee. It wasn't crowded when i went. Overall the price was worth it and it helped me visit a spot I never explored before. Thank you.

Yelp
This hostel exceeded expectations! Everything was very clean, the people were super friendly, and the free breakfast was excellent. They have quiet hours through the night into the early morning so it wasn't noisy at all, they had the mattresses in a zip wrap and provided fresh sheets that we put on the beds so we could see for ourselves that it was all sanitary. Although the restrooms were shared between all the rooms, they all had locking doors with no gaps, and the shower area had curtains to enter and additionally at each shower, so privacy was not a concern. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Yelp
Stay away from this place if you want cleanliness and quiet. This was my first encounter in a small town hostel. I have frequented hostels in big cities and throughly enjoyed my experiences. The hostel is located in the basement of building and can be dark, gloomy and smelly. The entire set up is quite bizzare. The kitchen is extremely small. There is little to no place to prep your food. You can't cook any food in the kitchen before 11am. You get your drinking water from the utility sink next to the washer and dryer. I will say the water was fine to drink. Since I had been traveling extensively the last 4 weeks I opted for the single room. I stepped into the room that felt like a jail cell. No natural ventilation or light. A twin bed with sheets that looked questionably clean and a thin blanket. The floor clearly hadn't been swept or mopped from the last few guests. The lamp and dresser needed dusting too. The ladies room had 2 sinks, one of which only had running cold water. The other that did have hot water but was slow to drain. The shower curtains had mildew on the bottom. There was never any heat in the bathroom and it was cold at times. The walls are paper thin. I'm a city girl so I'm comfortable with a little noise having lived in apartments for years. But this was ridiculous. I woke up a 6:30 am with someone's alarm every morning and it wasn't blaring either. You literally hear EVERYTHING. Every cough, sneeze, snore, fart and burp. Which I swear there must have been a contest I didn't know about because these guys were constantly trying out do one another. The entire place is run by a bunch of college kids and it shows. I literally heard one young lady state that they needed to look like they were doing something before their boss comes. Clearly there is something to do, CLEAN! This was surprising to me because we are in the middle of a pandemic and cleanliness is imperative for any business now. Also they never enforced any of their own rules. Quiet hours were not kept. I had to knock on my neighbor's door at 4:30 am to ask him to turn his t.v. down. There is a piano in the lounge that is to be used between 10 am and 10 pm. My last day there someone was playing the piano at 9:30 am. If you have standards for your hostel stays then stay away from this one. Hopefully with the growth in Bozeman another establishment will open because there is definitely a need for an acceptable hostel in this town.

Yelp
NOMADS--DO NOT STAY HERE. I am a well seasoned traveler, nationally and internationally. I've stayed in *a lot* of hostels. This is by far the worst. It's in a basement, run by irresponsible children, it lacks any semblance of decor and charm. It's dirty. Worst of all, the mattress is all wire, it sinks in. It is literally the worst mattress I have ever experienced anywhere. I was flabbergasted that they would expect anyone to sleep on something like this. When I brought this to the attention of staff and said I could not stay here, the staff attempted to gaslight me, saying nothing was wrong with the mattress. He came to look at it in the room and ran his hands over it like he was petting a cat, not pushing down. He treated me like a "complainer". Let me be clear, I am customer paying for a place to sleep who expects reasonable "hostel like" accommodations. I don't "complain" and choose to stay elsewhere for any other reason than the accommodations are well under par--to the point of unreasonable. Attempting to stay here cost me money. I received a refund that wasn't for the full amount and had to find accommodations last minute with less options and higher prices. This is the only negative review I have ever given for any hostel.

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay. Charles is especially adequate, He helped me find towels and showed me around the hostel.

Yelp
Nice hostel, staff for the most part nice and helpful. Rooms are bare bones, it is a hostel after all but they are clean and bed pretty comfy. My only complaint would be they allow people to cook and somebody was cooking something that smelled so obnoxious and stunk up the whole place and with vents it wafted Into the rooms.

Yelp
Loved this place! I stayed here November 21, 2016, in a four-person mixed-gender dorm for $28. The staff was super friendly and even offered me a beer. I spent the evening with other guests playing the piano in the living room and chatting. The mattresses were encased in plastic, which I appreciated for cleanliness and bed bug prevention. They had a great library with big comfy chairs and cool art on the walls, and I was able to cook dinner in their kitchen. They don't have a parking lot, but if you're willing to walk a few blocks you can find free parking on residential streets - and you're allowed to park for free on the street right outside the hostel for 2 hours or less, long enough to unload your stuff.

Yelp
Found this hidden treasure and felt comfortable at the start! Warm company, shared foods and open mindset will have me in search for hostels more often. Great place to stay! Downtown location and very affordable. Congrats and thanks to the new owner Nina!

Yelp
I stayed here for a week before the start of a Yellowstone camping trip, and I can't say enough good things about this place. The hostel is clean, and the rooms are comfortable. There's a patio, a rec room, a library, a small kitchen with stove and fridge, and a washing/drying machine. The staff and occupants were super friendly and helpful. Bozeman is a great little city that is only 15 minutes away from the airport. This hostel is right in the middle of downtown Bozeman, making it easy to walk everywhere. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for somewhere to stay near Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks.

Yelp
Nice and clean hostel with everything I needed. The staff was amazing, especially Jamie. Thanks for a great stay

Yelp
Great location. Friendly hosts. Smelled of marijuana. It's underground-no outdoor windows. Humid(needs ventilation)

Yelp
Worst hostile ever I brought service dogs and one if the staff abuse my dog. After trying to cancel the owner lied and said my dog peed on the floor which was impossible as they are expertly trained. And were in the kennel if I wasn't in the room. Worst place ever!!!!

Yelp
I reserved a room here a month in advance on Airbnb. After my stay was confirmed, after I corresponded directly with the proprietor, after driving 1000 miles from Minneapolis I arrived at 8:00 PM to find out that they had completely lost my reservation and I had nowhere to stay for the night. The other guests seemed to be enjoying their stay but I was not so lucky.
