We had a good experience at the Treasury. We landed in Brisbane early in the morning and got to the hotel around 9am. They will hold your bags for you and bring them up to the room when it’s ready. They texted us that the room was ready well before the listed check-in time. The staff were friendly and professional. The hotel is nicely decorated and has a classic feel. The property has a gym, which was empty and opened until 10:00pm. Had a good selection of weights and cardio machines. The room itself was pretty standard. It came with a balcony overlooking the square, but we did not use it. The bathroom is also pretty spacious. There was an issue with a water leakage in the hotel itself, but staff took care of it quickly during the day. They also gave us complementary fruit! Which was nice. Overall the location, price, and value was great and I’d recommend the Treasury if you’re standing in CBD, Brisbane.

My husband surprised me with a night away for my birthday. What an amazing beautiful Historical hotel. Absolutely stunning. The staff member who checked us in was lovely and friendly. The room was absolutely stunning. We had breakfast included and it was awesome. We also ordered dessert from room service menu and it was delicious. 100% recommend this hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at the Treasury Hotel Brisbane. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. A special thanks to the team at the front desk — my wife accidentally left a gift in the lobby, and they went out of their way to locate and return it to us quickly. That level of care really stood out. The hotel itself is beautiful and full of character, but it’s the people who made the experience memorable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Brisbane.

Absolutely stunning historical hotel. If I was to stay in Brisbane again, I would definitely love to return. We had dinner in the restaurant 2 nights, and I have to say the Pizza was one of the best we have had. Breakfast was a good choice. Valet parking was ideal. Each and every staff member, no matter where in the hotel they worked, were lovely. Southbank was also in close proximity for wonderful evening walks. You would not be disappointed with a stay here at The Treasury Hotel, and I hope we can return one day for another stay.

A surprise birthday treat for me by my wife meant an evening composed of various events. We therefore needed some flexibility in order to meet with the different time schedules organised. Our first stop was the Treasury Hotel, with a plan to park earlier in the day as my wife had work commitments. Reception arranged an early book in which allowed the whole event to run with ease and the room was just what we required. It was classic splendour, a ceiling around 20 ft high with solid walls in a quiet location formed around a quadrangle or courtyard providing privacy and it ensured a good night's sleep for me. The neo Italian renaissance style was present in the hotel room construction also adding further grandeur to any occasion with support pillars and a ceiling utilising a classic beam structure. A great place to stay for any occasion.

Had a short stay for our anniversary. Check in was seamless and the staff very friendly. The room was very spacious, magnificent high ceilings and beautifully comfortable bed. I loved this place and breakfast in The Lab was outstanding. The Star Casino is right next door, literally a 2 minute walk.

What an amazing beautiful hotel. Absolutely stunning. The staff member who we signed in with, was amazing too, we we t in the wrong parking, & she sorted that out a.s.a.p. Lovely girl, unfortunately we didn't get her name. The rooms are stunning, we've stayed in wonderful hotels around the world. l really believe that was probably the best. Food good too. Beds oh my goodness like sleeping on air. l will be buying some of the bedding, so soft, tremendous. Cleaning brilliant & very quick. 100% recommend.

recently stayed at the Treasury Brisbane Hotel and Casino on William Street and overall had a very positive experience. The hotel is located right in the heart of the city, making it easy to walk to shops, restaurants, the river, and public transport. The building itself is stunning – a beautifully restored heritage property with grand architecture that gives it a very unique charm compared to modern hotels. My room was spacious, with high ceilings, elegant furnishings, and a large bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, and housekeeping kept everything clean and tidy.||The staff were professional and welcoming, always ready to help with requests or provide local recommendations. I also enjoyed the dining options and the casino atmosphere, which added to the lively experience. On the downside, the rooms can be a little noisy at night due to the central location, and prices are on the higher side. Still, for anyone looking for a luxurious stay in Brisbane with a mix of history and entertainment, this hotel is an excellent choice.

Yelp
It's definitely not Vegas. There's no smoking inside the casino from what I could tell because we were denied entrance. We were first stopped because of a baseball cap, which we agreed to take off and put into our pack. Then a few more steps in, the same security guard asked if I had a backpack. I spun around, yes, that is a backpack, it was a small one, not a bookbag backpack. But he let us know that it wasn't allowed in. I said we just wanted to take a look inside, and still he said we couldn't. He did suggest we use a locker if we wanted, but it was already after we were on our way out. I mean if they don't want our money, that's on them.

Yelp
We in need of some late night/early morning drunken nourishment, the cafe in the Casino hit the spot. A chunky meat pie and some thick cut chips with gallons of self serve sauces helped mop up the litres of beer we had already consumed. The pie had really tasty gravy and big chunks of meat.

Yelp
I find it alright not as glamorous as the Sydney Casino but I still like coming here I love the bright lights

Yelp
Went touring in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, came across this beautiful old government building turned into a hotel and casino. At the casino I watched many people at the roulette table dropping hundreds of dollars and not even blinking at it. Too much for me.

Yelp
Beautiful building & very central. I couldn't believe how high the minimums were to play. It was $20 a hand minimum to play blackjack. I only saw $100 baccarat tables though I hope their are smaller ones to play in also. It was even hard to find a $20 blackjack table most were at least $50 a hand. Get real treasury, it's fine to have a high roller room but maybe if you had some $10 tables you would get more people, it was pretty empty when I showed up.

Yelp
Roll up, roll up, ladies and gents. Take a punt on black tonight or try your luck with the pokies. Come in and take a load off, enjoy a gin and tonic or indulge in a ridiculously expensive but somehow magical cocktail and while away the night in one of our embellished function rooms. Get lost in a sea of light hearted gambling fun, it's harmless I promise! Just put down that $50 note, yes, there you go. Don't hold back, this is a casino after all! Why not sample our premium quality steak in our award-winning restaurant? You won't be sorry. Because at Brisbane's Treasury Casino, you'll find wonders for the eye and the stomach. If you're having a drink, I'd recommend you take the bus or the city cat ladies and gents, because the Casino is only a stone's throw away from a bevy of buses and a slight stroll from the North Quay ferry stop. But if you're taking it easy, you can park under the building for a hefty price of $50 for over 4 hours. Don't like the price? Too bad! Maybe you should have caught the ferry or the bus like I suggested hey? When you're done with me, why not take a stroll along the river and look at the pretty way my exterior façade changes colour. Impressive, no? I may not be on the same scale as Melbourne's Crown Casino or anything like that, but I try my best to impress. Give me some credit. Or give me your credit card; either way.

Yelp
Last Friday was my previous school's student dance. "IES Student Dance 2013" It was held at this hotel. Due to the modernity in our society, I have to say this hotel has preserved its historical designs very well. Through the hall entrance, there are vintage mirrors at different sides and as well in the toilets. It's very capturing, I mean very self-capturing. Hahaha. The party was held from 7pm-10pm. If you are a wild party creature, this location is not suitable for your party as there are time restrictions because they also accommodate guests in the hotel. Quoted from the teacher/organiser: "The deals for the drinks and venues are very good!" They have a wide range of appetisers for people to choose from and the personal bar corner was mind-blowing! However, on that night, the lighting wasn't very impressive as there were some technical problems. But the party is still going very smooth...

Yelp
I once had the luck to be invited to a bit of a 'do' in one of the rooms at the Treasury Hotel. It was one of those nights: an intimate dinner at Tank, followed by a trip to the casino. For those of us who didn't gamble, we went back to the hotel room. I couldn't help but assume that the Treasury Hotel was going to be tacky, despite it's beautiful and regal exterior. I blame the casino for my preconceived judgement. The hotel and casino do look quite similar from the outside, but when you get into their guts, they couldn't be more different. Where the casino is gaudy, the Treasury Hotel is regal and opulent. The long white columns, combined with high ceilings, ornamental plaster features on the ceilings, large windows, and romantic balconies really just sweep you off your feet into another time. The Treasury Hotel combines elements of classicism into Queensland architecture quite elegantly. Considering how incredibly beautiful this hotel is, I don't think paying $200+ per night is unreasonable. You're always going to pay more to stay in a hotel, and this one really is a worthwhile treat. The staff are professional. I will say there is a certain expected decorum if you choose to stay here. No stealing luggage trolleys and throwing yourself down aisles. No Roger Explosion forward rolls out of doors. Be classy. It is the most convenient place to stay if you do gamble. It's just a walk across the park to go meet your 2.30am session at the blackjack table. Also, I should note, there are certain benefits available to you while staying at the hotel if you are a regular customer at the casino.

Yelp
This place has really lost of a lot of it's class... it's run down and depressing place to spend sometime and throw away some money. Compared to the building its a shadow of its former self.... So do yourself a favour a skip this place and save your money for a nice meal or siteseeing around Brisbane. You won't win here you will just lose your money.

Yelp
The Treasury Casino can be amazing one night where you love it and leave with some cash and then rubbish the next where you leave with no money. However this is through no fault of the Casino. If you are prone to getting addicted to things then stay away because it can be very addictive. They have all your gambling needs and some tables have bets for as little as $2.50 so even if you just want to go for a bit of fun or learn how to play. There are also quite a few bars around the casino but the main one has a stage with live music an its quite a good party. The Treasury does get packed on the weekends though and some times even as late as 2 am its hard to find a space to play.

Yelp
We have James Bond films and Las Vegas to thank for the glamourisation of gambling, while reality often reveals that the practice is often less golden (think recidivist problem gamblers frittering away their kids' lunch money, that kind of thing). However a trip to the old Treasury building for a flutter does hold a certain glittering appeal. I usually hit up the roulette tables on the main gambling floor (on the same level as the popular Livewire Bar) or play a few rounds of blackjack. I go for the cheaper tables that allow for a $5 bet, not the more expensive $10 minimum ones. If you're heading to the bar you can go for one of their signature frozen daiquiris, just don't drink too fast or you'll get brain freeze (you do want a cool head while you bet, but it's a fine line...) Oh and if you needed physical proof that money breeds power, let it be known that the Casino is the only fully walled licensed venue which is exempt from the Queensland government's 3am lockout rule. They still close down drink service at the bar for a few hours in the early morning though, so it does tend to discourage all night benders.

Yelp
Ordered a meal at 'bite' Restaurant? in the Casino. The chips and fish were rewarmed over from some time before,we know because the chips were floppy and the fish dry and leathery. The meal had not just been fresh cooked- anybody would have known the difference The salad however was fresh. Served on cardboard trays with plastic cutlery ?. When we complained they just shrugged their shoulders. Save your money -you can get a better meal at some backstreet grease joint. Disappointed doesn't even come close Peter &Trixie-may Moss-(Pearl card members)(mystery Shoppers)

Yelp
Having lived in Adelaide it is not hard to come across somebody who works, or has worked, in the casino (though I can also say that I know three people in Melbourne who work, or have worked, in the casino) so I sort of have an understanding of the ins and outs of the place. Look, I'm not really a big fan of casinos because in the end all they really end up being is a collection of games of chance where if you are lucky then you might win some money. I guess I'm not the type of person who is willing to risk my money on attempting to make more of it in the short term (if that is even possible). However, the thing that brought me back to the Treasury Casino was that it was open and it served beer, which was something that was really difficult to find in Brisbane late at night. The Casino inhabits the old treasury building, so it is actually a hive of little rooms, with a couple of large rooms in the middle. That I thought was cool, and it was fun wandering around this warren of rooms simply exploring the place. As with most casinos it has a number of restaurants of various grades as well as number of bars. I ended up in one particular bar, which was pretty cool, namely because it was the closet to the entrance. However if there happened to be any other late night establishments in the city, I probably would have avoided this place for them.

Yelp
This review of the hotel, separate building to the casino although joined by an underground tunnel. We are staying in a Deluxe King room for two, this I think was the cheapest of the available rooms to book. The room is very spacious, nicely decorated, super comfy bed and a huge ceiling - the room must be two floors high. Great service, met at the door by concierge who walked us in, monitored our check-in and walked us to our room. Gave us some great info about things to do in Brissie for our couple of days.

Yelp
A casino is a casino but if you get a chance to stay at the heritage listed Treasury Hotel, you should! A former government building from the Victorian era. Soaring ceilings, plush furnishings, dark wood, sandstone. Some rooms overlook the park, others the inner courtyard with Palm trees & iron lacework. Service is subdued but impeccable - as you would expect of a high end hotel.

Yelp
The Treasury Casino can be a scary place - all endless carpeting, super cold airconditioning and no clocks. But that's only if you're a problem gambler. If you're not you can have a bit of fun here - mainly due to the cheap frozen daiquiri's and the 24 hour opening times. If you're just not ready for your night to end then visit for a night cap - but for the love of God please remember to set yourself a gambling limit (and give your ATM card to a trusted friend if necessary).

Yelp
Disclaimer: This is coming from a non-gambler who wanted to explore the food options at the Treasury, because with four restaurants the likelihood of one being great is quite high, right? The exterior of the building is absolutely enchanting, the inside is a bit depressing as my fellow Yelpers have described above. Every time that we have walked by the treasury building in the last 10 months, I have been dying to check it out but we never had the chance. So you can imagine that the suspense was high when we decided to check it out for dinner (especially because we flipped a coin between the Treasury and one of the restaurants in South Bank... indecisive much?). So we went to the Kitchen (not Fat Noodle because we have had a lot of Vietnamese lately) and were not impressed by the atmosphere by any means. Andy actually said "Let's cut our losses and order because we are here and I am hungry." So it is safe to assume that it was not the most romantic date night experience, thank god for good company! The lamb shank was actually great, but fish and chips were a bit disappointing, and like I said, we ate and left immediately because it wasn't the type of place you wanted to share a romantic evening. I think it was strategically designed to have a decent meal and get back to flushing money down the pokies. In summary, we will not be eating in the basement of the Treasury again, unless it is 4am and we are drunk and famished. However, I would love to hear reviews on Fat Noodle or the upstairs fine dining...

Yelp
Nice restaurants to eat here and when your done eating you can go play some pokies or some table games. You can also have a nice drink from the bar.

Yelp
I have never actually done any gambling at the Casino, being the budget conscious person that I am, but I have watched many friends lose (and sometimes win) a bit of money here, either on the endless rooms full of pokies or the blackjack tables. In comparison to the casinos in Sydney, Melbourne and even the Gold Coast, Brisbane's is in desperate need of an upgrade. The place hasn't changed a bit in the last 20 years apart from a some pretty lights put up on the front of the building. It always seems to be one step away from being a nursing home, with elderly folks mind-numbingly feeding $1 coins into the slot machines. Frankly, the only good thing about the Casino is the fact that it's open 24 hours and is in the heart of the city, making it a perfect place to end the night at 6 in the morning when you are down to your last $20 and every other bar and club is shut. The cheap daiquiris can make that last $20 stretch out and if you win some money on the pokies, Cafe 21 is open 24 hours for breakfast. I do like the Premiers Bar in a corner of the Casino away from the bad carpeting and dinging pokies machines. It actually looks quite nice and has a dance-floor and DJ if you have any energy left for dancing.

Yelp
Occasionally, it's fun to go into the vortex of the Treasury. It's usually late when we go and there's a decadent but quite fun atmosphere. not a gamer, but the music and dancing are Ok if you can get near the bar and dancefloor. Don't go if you're not up for a big crowd. The food's pretty good, too.

Jon G.

Yelp
I have approximately 3K in my pocket allocated for gambling and I can't give this place my money on an empty Monday night because I'm wearing flip flops? Come on. Amateurs.

Michelle L.

Yelp
The Treasury is always fantastic to visit for a cheap mango or strawberry daiquiri, and the bar staff are lovely, which is in large part why my friends and I wander in at late hours when we're in the city looking for somewhere to relax, or something to do. The casino is always fun and games when you have a set limit of cash that you're willing to spend. And with the number of staff on constant prowl around the premises, you get the sense you either need to spend money or leave. On one of the hundreds of machines downstairs my friend taught me how to play the pokies, and we had a great time blowing his $16 winnings on watching me fail miserably. But it was depressing to see the sprawl of pokie machines that were mostly unoccupied, and frightening that there was absolutely no sense of time (the casino is open 24/7) in this cavernous hovel of cash. The casino itself is fine; the carpet and toilets are clean, and the staff are accommodating enough, but it's the atmosphere during the dead of the night that makes you feel dirty. (Not in a good way.) I've stopped by the casino 'food court' or 'dining area' in the early hours of the morning and it isn't a pretty sight. Here you'll find pokie addicts, alone, and refueling on soggy chips before they return to their drone like state. You can't help wondering why they're here at this hour. The atmosphere is a bit of a bummer, which is why although I enter Treasury casino with a sense of thrill, I always leave feeling slightly ill and underwhelmed.

Yelp
The Restaurant, Lab is a disaster. Foods OK, but service inept, slow, wrong food brought, then the microwaved the tea cement food and it was scalding and rubbery. Staff enthusiastic but poorly trained. Not so tough to serve breakfast....

Yelp
Beautiful place, great service, but why does the food have to be so terrible!? Tried 2 dishes and both well below restaurant quality.

Yelp
Only stayed here, didn't use casino or try the food, but loved it. HUGE, grand rooms, clean, comfortable. Staff are all lovely. Crazy building.
