I think it would be worthwhile noting that this hotel really is supposed to be like an apartment experience living in Melbourne than a luxury boutique that you thought you were getting when you originally booked the room.
If you check in after midnight you have to check yourself in and the instructions are okay at best because the hotel navigation itself is confusing (maybe no fault of the staff). You face out into an alley way or the next business building with lights in the hallways that directly go into your window and its too late to ask for a different room because its past midnight. These are things you'd never get at a hotel or even a real boutique hotel, so sort of a negative experience on that. On top of that, the rooms were very poorly setup, strangely oriented, and the bed was so soft I had a backache because there was no support whatsoever. There was insufficient lighting at night in the room, and the bathroom definitely needed some upgrades. there were leftover (I won't say where) hairs on the counter and floors.
The shower was okay, but it feels like no one actually lived in these apartments before they decided this was the design they picked, because water easily gets everywhere, and things are in awkward places for anyone over 5'4" (I imagine, I'm a bit taller than that, but honestly just very cramped). The only thing that was good about this place was location.
There was no real lobby, no real place you can hang out, I think there's some kind of half weird second floor thing and if you book this hotel on any other site but their own, you don't get breakfast and a host of features you didn't even know about that they try to upsell you to after.
Basically the only thing that was nice was we asked for an umbrella, and we got one, and it was some what broken actually but it sufficed us for the duration of the trip. I think if you're looking for a luxury experience you're better off at a hotel, as the Hyatt and several other places nearby are just as well located if not better, and definitely open 24/7 instead of having 'after hours' codes and check ins. They weren't priced much more or less than Treasury on Collins so save yourself the hassle!
