Treetops Lodge was a perfect escape from the city. Having stayed at the hotel over 20yrs ago we all appreciated the changes done to have all the rooms ensuite and the new reception area. The staff were great from Peter who met us on arrival and Moses who shared some fun facts about the wildlife around the Aberdares National Park and of course the fascinating story of the lodge and Queen Elizabeth stay at the lodge both as a Princess and later as the Queen. Beatrice and Lorna offered excellent service at the restaurant. Always attending to our request and were keen to offer assistance. Paul the guide was there to alert us when animals came to the waterhole and we were lucky to see elephants, a black rhino, hyenas and hundreds of buffalo's. We also saw many crested cranes and ducks. The lodge is easily accessible by road and a great overnight stop enroute to or from Samburu National park.

Treetops. is an historic hotel in Aberdare National Park in Nyeri, Kenya. It's an older hotel, so the rooms have an old-world charm. The hotel rooms are small, but there are plenty of outdoor seating and viewing areas. And what a view! The watering hole directly outside the lodge attracts all manner of wildlife--water buffalo, baboons, waterbucks, warthogs....but mainly elephants! We were really able to view elephant life up close and personal from many vantage points in the hotel, including our room. From the four bull elephants who greeted us to the many families who came, it was an amazing experience ! The staff were top-notch and obviously cared very much about the guests. We want to mention chef Kiyo Isaac in particular, whose food was delicious and beautifully prepared. Our best to all from Ellie and Mark W. in U.S.

I made a return to this lodge after 15+ years and was pleasantly surprised by the updates that have since been made. Last i visited the rooms were teeny-tiny cabins with shared bathrooms at the end of the hall but that is now in the past as each room is en-suite and slightly airy. I love the fact that a lot of the history and heritage of this lodge has been maintained, even the old tradition of keeping the buzzer in your room on incase there are some interesting animal sightings, still happens. It still gives that "one with nature" feel with the watering hole right there. It was our lucky day as we had some ellies come visiting alongside the usual suspects i.e. buffalos and waterbucks. I also got a glimpse of the black rhino in the dead of night. It ticks all the right boxes for a quick weekend getaway, and always a great addition to the safari circuit.||Oh the food.....just there! dunno, it didn't hit any notes but it can pass. I'd still recommend this historical gem.

We had a wonderful time at treetops lodge! From the first moment we arrived we had such a warm welcome. Everybody was so friendly and helpful! We had a great driver Francis that took us on 2 drives in 2 different parks! We got to see lions, so many rhinos and much more he was so knowledgeable and attentive! At breakfast, lunch and dinner Susan made sure we always had what we needed! The entire service was wonderful and the food was great too (I’m gluten free) and I always found something to eat! They even gave me a little birthday show after dinner! Over night we got to see multiple elephants drinking from the water hole as well as so many buffalos! I would recommend everyone to stay here it was such an unexpected overly pleasant stay!

I recently took clients to Treetops Lodge in Aberdare National Park, and the experience was wonderful. The lodge has a charming, historic feel, with stunning views of the surrounding forest and wildlife. A truly lovely place to relax and enjoy nature.

We really enjoyed our stay at the renovated and reopened Treetops Lodge. The suite in which we stayed was spacious with excellent amenities, a great view of the watering hole, and a nice bathroom. The food was very good, the wildlife plenty, and the staff very friendly and helpful. As part of the renovations, they added ramps to all the floors, making the hotel much more accessible. We would recommend getting passes to the Aberdare National Park Treetops gate in advance through the Kenya Wildlife Service online portal once you know the date of your arrival. You can obtain passes at the gate, but the process can take time and is more cumbersome than doing it in advance through the KWS site on the Kenyan ecitizens platform.

The iconic Treetops is the start of our Kenyan adventure and does not disappoint. |The staff are lovely and the food (buffet) is very good.|Elephants and buffalo are plentiful at the watering hole to lick the salt that has been put out for the animals for decades. You certainly need to put your buzzer on at night. At some point in the night the buzzer sounded 3 times, we jumped out of bed and there was a huge rhino!! Amazing! |The rooms are very comfortable and the prices of the wine and beer very reasonable. (Beer £2.50 ish, bottle of wine £13)
