Tremblays Sweet Shop

Google
Nice staff, and I did a taste test between Barbara Ann's and Tremblays Sweet Shop (across the street in Stillwater) in the white chocolate almond bark and Tremblays was better because there was a hint of salt. Barbara Ann's had more of a waxy consistency. The square one is Tremblays.

Freda L.

Google
My son and I stumbled across this shop while visiting Stillwater. There’s large variety of truffles and old fashioned candies. If you have sweet tooth, this shop won’t disappoint.

Google
Tremblay’s Sweet Shop in Stillwater, Minnesota, is an absolutely fun shopping experience! They have many handmade specialty candies, a large assortment of in-shop made fudge, and a huge variety of wrapped candies sold by their weight. Today, they featured four free samples. After trying a sample of their yummy cashew brittle, I purchased a pound bag. The staff members at Tremblay’s are friendly and helpful too. My family always makes a stop at Tremblay’s when we visit Stillwater! ❤️

We took our 4 year old grandson to Trembays. He enjoyed picking his favorites and a few for Grandma and Grandpa. Tremblays is our go to spot for candy in Stillwater. It's a great place to take your kids for a treat.

Ashley S.

Google
They have so many flavors of taffy so good. The chocolate is so fresh and delicious. I got the sampler box. I will be ordering more!

Eli V.

Google
Lots of candy in such a small space! Definitely try their candy made in store, I've tried their different brittles they had out to try, their almond bark then some of their different truffles and it's all really good! Nice prices and staff as well!

Google
Nice little candy shop with variety of different hard candy to chocolate to a wall full of different kinds of taffy. Make sure to stop by if your in stillwater and check them out! Your sweet tooth wont be disappointed!

Brooke K.

Google
Delicious chocolates! Adorable little shop! And very nice workers. 💕 Definitely a fun stop!

Yelp
Great candy shop in the heart of downtown Stillwater. On this trip we opted for jelly beans and chocolate covered gummy bears. They have a wide range of candy and chocolates! There is an extra charge for using your credit card as a side note.

Yelp
What a place!! Candy! Everywhere candy! My teeth started hurting the minute I opened the door to Tremblays. Big candy, small candy, fresh candy, old school candy. Buckets, baskets, and shelves of candy. Tubes of candy, tubs of candy. Sweet candy, sour candy. Sweet and sour candy. Taffy, gummy, gooey candy. I think Tremblays is a candy store. It's fun to watch brittle being made and spread out across a huge cold slab of metal. All the while thinking how much you'd like to be munching on a warm chunk of that sticky mess. Ahh, but like the rest of us, you'll have to wait until it comes from behind the glass. Our favorite? Saltwater Taffy. And there are baskets and baskets from which to choose. Every imaginal flavor. One just as good as the next. Chewy, filling extracting goodness. Grab a handful and mix yourself a bag. My granddaughters love this place. Shhhhhh....don't tell anybody, but so do I!!! Quick Tip: This place is a dentists paradise. So be careful with how much you bring home with you. It's tempting, but try to limit yourself with no more than 3 or 4 bags.

Yelp
Tell me this place isn't like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! We walked in and there was a person stirring some fudge or chocolate on a marble table and the smell of chocolate filled the place up. They had great music playing and I could not wait to get some cocoa bombs as soon as I saw them as sticking stuffers for my kids. They have any candy you can think of! It's such a great place to bring friends and family and kids honestly. It's beautifully decorated outside. You will have to find street parking as the store is on the Main Street but it's a great opportunity to check out other shops.

Yelp
We stumbled across this candy shops while dining in Stillwater. Worth stopping in and they have so much variety for a sweet tooth. Parking is tough on weekends, but during the weekdays you can generally find a spot on the street.

Yelp
Fresh made fudge, abundance of samples with awesome pretzel bark, almond bark, cashew brittle, peanut brittle and lots of hand made chocolates. Our go to in Stillwater! Kind of pricey but definitely a treat!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a fun little shop with a HUGE amount of selections! The staff is friendly and they were eager to help out my wife and daughter. I love how you can watch them make some of the delicious treats right out front. I'll be back next time I end up in the area
google avatar

Yelp
Great selection of taffy, and any other sweets you didn't know you wanted! Great fudge types to choose from and it was all fresh. The homemade chocolates were vast and varied, deciding was a dilemma. Staff was very prompt to greet us as we entered and very helpful when we were making our choices. Definitely will be back

David B.

Yelp
A wonderland of candy. I highly recommend the chocolate candy, decadent chocolate mint balls; salted caramel balls and both the cashew or pecan turtles. It's all good.
google avatar

Yelp
A cute little sweet shop. I walked inside after smelling this place from down the block. They have tons of samples of fudge and bark. It's delicious and I wanted to try everything. I love hat you can fill a bag with loose candy. The peanut butter fudge was delicious! You can even watch them making the fudge.

Ann L.

Yelp
Awesome truffles!!! I ordered 100 truffle bags for my daughter's wedding. I worked with the manager, Levi, who put everything together and had the bags delivered. The truffles were delicious and we received many compliments on them. Thanks so much to Levi for always being available to answer my questions. Levi was a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Trembleys if your in Stillwater.

Yelp
We love the Tremblay's in Hayward, Wisconsin, so it's always a nice treat to go to the Tremblay's in Stillwater. This location is smaller but still sells the three things I care about the most: malted milk balls (which are huge and so chocolatey and so much more awesome than Whoppers), fudge and pecan turtles. Also, unlike the Hayward location, this one takes credit cards. Always worth a stop if you're nearby!
google avatar

Yelp
We've been stopping in to this little candy and fudge shop for years and did so again on a recent excursion over to Stillwater. After lunch we always wander in to see what temps our taste buds. The shop itself is small, just a narrow long building, but it is packed with all kinds of candy, taffy, chocolates and other goodies. They also make their own fudge on site. My particular weakness is the peanut brittle and they always have a plate of samples for you to try. It is easy to find, it is right on the main street just a couple of doors down from the kitchen store. Because it is a small space it can feel a little crowded so you may need to be patient. Just grab a basket when you walk in to aid your shoppping and be sure to try their version of the iconic turtle candy - they make them fresh so they are much tastier than those ones from the big box store.

Yelp
Fun little candy shop downtown Stillwater. I love the variety of candy, from truffles to jellybeans to fudge to old school treats to saltwater taffy and familiar sweet favorites. I did find some of their pay by the pound was cheaper than Candyland down the road. Specifically, gummy cola bottles were 6.49 here vs 7.99 at Candyland. Few of their wrapped treats (taffy type) that I was interested in, I gave the gentle squeeze test and they were rock hard so exercise caution. Lots of chocolate bark, brittle and fudge samples, so that's nice!

Yelp
Get wild and crazy in here! This is a kid's dream. I was here with my two little friends 9 & 11 and their mama. One of these girls distracted their mom while the other poured endless mysterious candies into a bag. My friend dropped a solid $30+ dollars but it was all pretty great. I shamelessly ate a half a pound or so of peanut butter fudge as we walked through the antique stores nearby....totally worth it. Their fudge is soft and perfect, they stick to original flavors and keep it fresh. Unfortunately, I learned that I love those little black and red raspberry candies. Those happened to be one of the multi scoops that my little friend ended up not liking.. bonus for me? This is a cute stop in town, get some fudge and eat it with your fingers, keep it classy as you stuff peanut butter fudge in your face.

Theresa A.

Yelp
I just left this candy shop spent quite a bit of money for candy and found, who I think was the owner, extremely rude. I will not be going back. Especially at those prices.

Yelp
Oooooh Nummy Nummy Nom Nom Rawr NOM!!! Deeeelicious! As soon as you walk in the door, you can instantly smell the sugar heaven that is Tremblays! I'll be honest; it's difficult for me to write an unbiased review about a candy store, simply because I am the Honey Badger of sweets. I have the sweet tooth of Cookie Monster and a dangerous need for sugar; like a 5 year old diabetic on a one-time free pass! My love for sweets is best compared to the shinning image of Charlie & The Chocolate Factories Augustus Gloop happily and selfishly downing chocolate from the river. Tremblays is a cute" mom and pop" kind of store off of Main St. in Downtown Stillwater. Tremblay's carries your basic candy staples. Providing a large assortment of Salt Water Taffy, Jelly Belly's, Lollipops, Gummies, Licorice and more! Temblay's also carries delicious homemade chocolate products such as Truffles, Fudge, Nut Clusters and dipped goodies such as pretzels and graham crackers. Tremblays makes to-die-for peanut and cashew brittle! If you have any doubts of how amazing the brittle is, there are usually free samples of the brittle (or just about any product made in store) .My grandparents eyes light up like fireworks when I bring them fudge and peanut brittle from Tremblay's! All in all, Tremblays is a cute candy store that is reasonably priced, scrumptious and fills every patron with that "feel good feeling" and a sense of childhood nostalgia that you've been dying to get back! I highly suggest checking out Tremblay's if you happen to be in Downtown Stillwater, regardless of your age or budget!

Yelp
I love this shop! They have such a huge collection of candies (vintage and modern, chocolates, sweets, salt water taffy, they've got it all!) and I love that you can watch them made fudge right in the front window. It really lends something extra to the experience!
google avatar

Joe P.

Yelp
Nice spot off the main St. Good size lots of goodies. What I liked about this place is they advertised by selling thier goods outside in front of thier shop. At $1.00 ea. They sold pecan and cashew turtles chocolate covered pretzels and chocolate covered toffee...for a buck each!. Great marketing! Worth the $ ...good luck finding parking.
google avatar

Kevin D.

Yelp
The owner isn't very friendly. I posted a review and he didn't even ask me what happened at his store (doesn't care about me as a customer) he threatened me for posting a honest review.

Clara S.

Yelp
A yummy mix of candies and fudge and sometimes you can watch them make the treats! Big barrels of sweets and tubs to scoop from greet you by the door. I highly recommend stuffing your face with a milk chocolate caramel ball.

Yelp
We had a good friend in from Virginia and popped in here on a jaunt to downtown. This place is somewhat reminiscent of one of those old fashioned candy stores you used to jealously stare at in moves when you were little. It's small (and, thus, seems a little cluttered) but charming enough with walls lined with saltwater taffy, truffles and brittles galore. They seem to have a good stock of nostalgic candies, too--black licorice pipes, candy legos, rock candy by the scoop--and they're not assholes about letting you sample items within reason. They have one of the largest selections of saltwater taffy I've ever seen and I legitimately thought Jenny was going to faint. In addition to having the basic flavors (grape, cherry, vanilla, chocolate, banana), they have a host of strange must-try goodies as well. I'll rate a few on a scale from abysmal to A++ would cuddle. - Eggnog (Not horrific; B-) - Caramel Apple (A++ would cuddle) - Red Velvet Cake (Abysmal) - Birthday Cake (A++ would cuddle; think birthday cake ice cream from Coldstone) - Rum (Not quite abysmal, but disappointing. Also, I didn't get drunk. D-) - Chocolate Cake (Abysmal; tasted almost like flour) - Strawberry Cheesecake (Good, but not quite snuggle-worthy) There were others but I'm old and can't remember what the hell they were. The purchasing system is by weight, costs 4.99 per pound--you can mix any sort of hard candies for this amount, but we just went with taffy--and even though we thought we'd loaded up to the gills it only came up to $3.44. That being said, I found out at that moment that they don't allow you to use your card with anything less than a ten dollar purchase. So, I did what any sensible adult would do; I loaded the hell up on truffles and caramels. Fuck da po-lice. I opted for two bacon truffles, a blackberry truffle and an assload of dark chocolate sea salt caramels. My make-it-over-ten-dollars mission complete, we all headed out of the store and proceeded to stuff our faces. Our friend loved the caramels and said he could tell they were very fresh. The blackberry truffle was just fine but it was overwhelmingly sweet and lacked any sort of tartness that may have balanced it out. The bacon truffles? Disappointing in every sense of the word. Sprinkled imitation bacon bits do not a bacon truffle make, amirite? Apart from the pathetic sprinkling of them on top, there was zero smokiness or saltiness to the truffle itself and it ended up being a big wad of sadness. As a certified whisperer to the bacons, I do not recommend. When I find myself meandering through downtown again, I might just make a stop here to load up on some diabetes. If you're in the vicinity, it's worth a trip.

Yelp
Yes ..high schooler work behind the counter. Do you expect high schoolers to be anything but crabby or full of complaints? No. If they were all in their mid thirties behind the counter, would you be commenting that they're all nerds living out of their parent's basement? The Hayward location is 10x better. Fudge is awesome and comes in more than the traditional chocolately goodness.. white maple peanut butter oh my!! Truffles, covered pretzels and other edible whatnots, they also have sugar free goodies. My fav... Fudge covered Maple Balls. One of these will cure your sweet tooth for two days :)

Yelp
What a cute little candy shop(pe)! I was able to wander through here one afternoon and was amazed at the amount and flavors of salt water taffy. They have tons of old fashioned candy like Black Cows too. I loved being able to take samples of the different brittles (peanut, cashew and almond I think) as well as fudge. But it was the truffles that really got us. Hubs couldn't resist and got a bacon, a coconut, and a salted caramel to bring home. He couldn't wait and we ate the bacon I think before even leaving the store. We were a little disappointed as the bacon flavor was relegated to the crumbles on top rather than throughout the truffle. Coconut seemed to be the same way but the salted caramel was caramel throughout and we almost fought over it. I also grabbed a pecan turtle and thoroughly enjoyed it!
google avatar

Kim R.

Yelp
This is one of the cutest shops in downtown Stillwater, especially if you like sweets. I'm always drawn to old-time candy stores, they bring me back to my childhood when rock candy was the best thing since sliced bread. What makes Tremblays so great, besides the enormous variety of candy, is that they always have samples of fudge and their homemade peanut brittle. This place has all the best candies jars of gummy worms and peach-o's and huge barrels filled with every flavor of salt water taffy you could imagine. They also make their own fudge and chocolate candies on site.
google avatar

Karin M.

Yelp
Have been to Tremblays for a number of years and while their products are tasty the customer service leaves much to be desired. Cashew brittle is very yummy with a great balance of sweet and salty. The turn off came today when we order maple nut fudge after tasting several of the options. Hubbs was the one ordering and paying; however the surly counter person turned to me for confirmation of his order...thought that was a bit strange. What we opened when we got home was peanut fudge - definitely a disappointment when you are expecting something else...luckily we do not have a peanut allergy in the household or that could have been a horrible thing. I guess the moral is to not have someone with allergies open the fudge or have any until the flavor is confirmed.
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
I grew up visiting the Hayward WI location! I was excited to share this with my husband and sons. It isn't as elaborate as their other location, but it still smelled just like I remembered...heavenly! I let my son grab a bag and fill it up with candy, and Mama got some amazing fudge. It was a good day! Only thing that sucked, was that people don't understand how to wait their turn and stand in line. Why are people so ignorant, oblivious and rude?
google avatar

Angela L.

Yelp
This place is good. It's your smalltown vintage candy store. Since Stillwater is a smalltown on the edge of the city - we city people are deceived into believing this place is as good as it gets. I mean sure, you can watch them making homemade fudge from the storefront window. That's pretty neat, but I've found better old-fashioned sweet shops a little further out of the city. RE: Granny's Pantry in Battle Lake, MN. But, if you need to get your sugar fix within daytripping distance of Minneapolis/St.Paul, then you're in the right place. Helpful Hints: This place has free samples of fudge - limited selection of flavors, other homemade candies and bulk candy and taffy you can purchase by the weight. Buyer Beware: $5 minimum on credit card purchases
google avatar

Lexy I.

Yelp
So much fun if you have the time to stop! Every kind of candy you can think of in one small place, with a window to watch workers make popcorn and other snacks. The shop has a classic, retro vibe that makes picking out taffy feel like a trip back in time. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Exploring downtown Stillwater with the boyfriend I discovered this sweet spot. Its a cute small vintage candy store that you can find all sorts of salt water taffy, and gummies. Also had a few odd items like bacon flavored chocolate which wasn't that bad! As others have mentioned the service isn't that great the workers are prob high schoolers working on a low pay hence the not so great service you get but the candy they have makes up for it. one last thing they have a $5 min purchase for card purchases which gets you a lot of candy other wise just pay in cash.
google avatar

Jonathan C.

Yelp
I thought the selection of candy was great. I even tried a caramel candy bar called Slo-Poke which mighty be my new favorite! Also, the truffles were excellent.
google avatar

Rachel E.

Yelp
Why say no when saying yes feels so good? That was precisely the mentality I had when I entered Tremblays. My sister and I couldn't resist drooling over the treats through the window and decided to make some indulgent purchases. Buyers remorse? Not a chance. I bought a milk chocolate haystack and a milk chocolate covered Oreo. Rich, delectable, perfect. The old-fashioned feel of this shop just sealed the deal for me. They are passionate about satisfying your sweet tooth and they do it well. Side note: If you are a salt water taffy lover, you have found the motherload with Tremblays; they have a wall of unique flavors.
google avatar

Sonja D.

Yelp
I've been the to hayward location and just realized that stillwater had one too! we made the trip yesterday. The store is smaller and doesn't have as many selections as the hayward store as far as hard candy goes. However, there is an entire wall and then some full of saltwater taffy! The huge dish of free samples of fudge is a plus too. The workers didn't really seem to care that we were in there. If they had been absent I could've weighed and paid by myself. But the young girl ringing us up was friendly and overall it was a good trip to make!
google avatar

Wil G.

Yelp
I CAN'T STOP! Every time I'm in Stillwater I find myself in here. I'm an addict to their chocolates!
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
The food is good. However, their customer service is horrific. They were not helpful when it came to an order I never received. I understand it may be USPS fault, but a little help is apprciated. Because of customer service, I will not go back. And, I will tell others to avoid this place. There are other good fudge places around that I can purchase from.
google avatar

Bea K.

Yelp
I ran to Tremblays to get my friend's Dad his favorite peanut brittle and ended up buying a bag for myself (they had samples out!). The also made cashew brittle. There is glassed panel so you can see the work area. I also tried some of their chocolate. It was good, but not as good as the brittle!
google avatar

Taylor R.

Yelp
Sometimes they give you the wrong kind of chocolate...dangerous if you were to have allergies. Service...eh...okay. Good candy but service needs to step it up a bit. Cute atmosphere though.
google avatar

Dan R.

Yelp
Tremblays is another great old fashioned candy shop. Located in the heart of downtown Stillwater, they provide a selection of all the candy to remembered having as a kid. They even have free samples of a variety of fudge and brittles! This store is a great stop while walking the streets and provides a much needed break from all the shopping!
google avatar

T S.

Yelp
Great gem of a candy shop! The chocolates are homemade and delicious! They have just about anything you are looking for.
google avatar

Barbara G.

Yelp
I have been going to Tremblay's ever since my father first brouht me there as a little girl. I use to go to the one in Hayward Wisconsin when we would go to the cabin in the summers. There were a few things I always looked forward to as a kid, lumberjack days, the Lumberjack Cook Shanty where eveyone that can there ate family style, the artisian water well and best of all.....Tremblays. I am no longer a young person and have children of my own and unfortunately my parents no longer summer in Hayward, nor do I. I however happened through Stillwater, MN and saw Tremblay's, and fortunately I had both of my kids with me. We LOVED our visit. Everything looked very familiar. Almost as if not a year had past and it was very much like the Hayward store. I do agree with one of the other reviewer's who said the service was lacking. I won't go as far with my issue of poor service as she did because my issue was not that bad. It was just being run by a group of teens who couldn't have cared if they where helping folks or not. While there, I got mine and my fathers favorite, chocolate fudge. It is the best I venture to say in the known universe. I picked some up for him as well and drove right to his house he grinned from ear to ear when he saw me come through his door with the white box we love know so well. Go there and enjoy, you will find a candy there, in a basket, barrel, or glass candy jar to satisfy any sweet tooth. and don't forget to try the worlds greatest salt water taffy.Hopeful, you'll be able to watch them make it right before your very eyes!

Theresa M.

Yelp
They have great flavors of salt water taffy, but like a previous reviewer, when I was here last I saw the lady making fudge she stopped to talk on her phone. No gloves were used and phones are full of germs. Not to mention because she wasn't paying attention to fudge a fly landed on it (probably from keeping their door open). The shop was fun and the candy great, but some serious health concerns and lack of professionalism with the lady being on her cell so much.
google avatar

Randall N.

Yelp
How can you not love this place?! Despite the prevalence of candy that is obviously from the last 30 or 40 years for some reason I always feel like I'm walking into the early 20th century when I walk in here. Maybe it's because I read Little House on the Prairie and they always talked about the barrels of candy. Either way I love the selection. From homemade fudge and chocolates to jawbreakers, salt water taffy on oldish candy like bits o honey and root beer barrels. I'm only bummed that they cut back on the jelly bean selection. They used to have a bin just for margarita jelly beans, which are my favorite, but not anymore. I always get some fudge and french baked beans while I'm here since they tend to be hard to find. Plus they have those wax bottles with the intensely sweet juice in the middle that children of the 80s like myself remember fondly. I love this place and have since I was a kid and my mom used to take me here.

Brian S.

Yelp
We were lured in by all the wonderful treats & were like kids in a candy store. The cute blond working behind the counter was very friendly & knew her product. I love me some turtles, so we got pecan & cashew; both smooth chocolate , pralene, & pure nuttiness. Of course, there are an abbundance of other things to choose from. So, for an excellent seelection at reasonable prices in a charming quaint atmosphere, Tremblas cannot be beat. Keep up the good work guys.

stacy w.

Yelp
Don't waste your time at Tremblays! Their candies are HORRIBLE and their service even worse. Ordered lemon truffles for a gift and when my friend shared them with a group of us we had to spit them out they were so bad - tasted like mold. Sent a ltr along with the remaining moldy truffles back to Tremblays and phoned the mgr. (Marci) to ask for a refund. Left 5 msgs. and I still haven't received a response. I see others have given Tremblays poor ratings too. I expected better from a shop on the main drag in Stillwater.

Yelp
The comment before me is a total lier!! (stupid Ali o.) I believe I have been there SOOOOO many times, (Basically live there if I could!!) The service is Great!!!! The so called "teenagers" have more respect for you then when you walk into a resturant!! The fudge and britles are fantastic!!! it maybe a little messy at times, but wow they get a lot of business!! what business isnt messy after a rush of service?! come on now!! be reallistic here! Also i see that they always wash their hands after EVERYTHING! They try their best at everything!! and excuse me, they cant help the flies comin in by the door opening up every 5 minutes for their customers cant get enough of the rich taste of the delicious homemade fudge!! but they do try their best to kill them! and i bet you if you go into a resturunt, they probally have more flies and tons of other nasty crap in the back that you can't even see, but you dont complain about that, do you?!?! i have worked in that business and trust me i have seen a TON of nasty stuff that they do. so i think you should be pleased that a least they have you see them make it and not be all nasty behind your back!!!! its a nice candy shop that has the best services in the world!!!! PERIOD. So i highly recommed you go and see for yourself!!! and trust me! you wont leave without a smile on your face!!!!!

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Walked by today just killing some time and they were having a sidewalk sale. $1 for everything! Got the sea salt caramel and peanut butter oreo. Both were amazing! So good! Wish I would have bought more!

Angel E.

Yelp
Oct 2015, walking into the store the first thing I noticed was a woman making nut brittle behind the glass. I thought " how fun!" but that was soon replaced with "you've got to be kidding me!" I was shocked to see that she was also talking on her cell phone as she cracked the brittle into pieces and filled up bags for sale with her bare hands. She held the phone several separate times, picking up, putting down, dialing, scrolling, etc, all while still working and never washing her hands or putting gloves on. I was so close to saying something to her, but decided not to embarrass my family. I made sure my family only purchased products that were not made on-site. Do not eat anything handmade here, their idea of clean/sanitary is way off. Cell phones are full of germs, and now their nut brittle (and who knows what else) is too!

Ali O.

Yelp
some people swear by the fudge and brittles, and they are good, but the service is usually crabby high schoolers and the tastiness of the sweets is quickly diminuished by the sub-health standards. flies are all over the food and the store is always dirty. found a hair in the fudge. someone, call health services asap!!
