The service and food and drinks here are always super amazing. The environment is super cool. The parking is available. There’s plenty of parking on the street available. The only thing that could make this place better is if all the insurance reps, CPA’s, and bookkeepers would find a different spot to go in Chattanooga. This could easily be the coolest part in North Chad, but it’s right over by a bunch of well reference there above.

Google
I ate at Tremont Tavern after bible study today. I heard that they had great burgers and the person that told me was definitely telling the truth. I had the Harvarti Burger and fries. They were both delicious and I will definitely be back. I couldn’t eat all my fries. Also Mark was the gentleman that waited on me and he gave excellent customer service!

Google
Very good food. I've eaten here multiple times throughout the years and have yet to be disappointed, minus one thing. At one point they had a special for these mini corn dogs served with mustard seed sauce! They were amazing and I haven't seen them on the menu since. Please bring them back! But otherwise the food is always hot and tasty. Fairly cheap too and the drinks are cold with good ice! Love the special October burger and I had a gyro here one time that was great as well.

Google
This is a good place. Great food, wonderful service and I believe locally owned. If your visiting probably best to go eat by the aquarium 😁. Tom (in pic ) the bartender as all Tom's is cooler than cream corn.

Google
The food here is outstanding! We are both extremely picky eaters, but we absolutely both cleaned our plates!

Google
Super cool little hole in the wall place. We got the Fireburger, Havarti Burger, and Wagyu Burger. The Fireburger isn’t too hot either, so don’t worry about that if you can’t usually take heat. Cool tavern vibes. Def recommended.

Google
We were in town for a short visit and went to Tremont Tavern twice. It’s a great little corner bar with a fun atmosphere & excellent food!

Google
This place has the best burger and tots. Wonderful place, wonderful staff. It gets a little crowded and customers like to just stand around not really paying attention, and it causes congestion that should be EASILY avoidable, but that's not on the staff. Overall, great place, great food, and great experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Dang what a place! You really have to be there to take in Tremont Tavern! It's on the very corner but the parking in the area is nice!

Yelp
Come for the happy hour chicken tenders!!! Seriously though, they have some good fried chicken - I honestly prefer it to their burgers, etc. Service is always quick & friendly. My main complaint is that this place packs out so it's usually hard to find a seat! Definitely a sports bar, so plan accordingly.

Darren R.

Yelp
If you want the best burgers in town this is where you should go. Never had a bad experience here. Always a great selection of local beers and always great service. The burgers are simple amazing. So many different options make it difficult to choose sometimes. I've had each burger in the menu at least twice. So far my favorite is the Gouda burger. But all options are great. I always pair it with a side of hash browns and blue cheese for dipping. The fried mozzarella triangles are great as well. Wish they came with more just because I loved fried mozzarella. If you aren't the type of person that likes bar scenes or loud music and crowds I'd definitely go during lunch. At night it can get pretty loud with the music. Also it's a seat yourself place. So if you show up late it might be hard to find a table. Which is why the wife and I go for lunch usually.
google avatar

RM P.

Yelp
That was a TASTY burger! Been looking 'round these parts and this local hang out has the best burgers I've had in a long time. Friendly, chill and not so loud atmosphere. Service was awesome. Definitely coming back! Thanks a lot Tremont Tavern :)

Yelp
Another wonderful lunch ...outstanding service. The Chicky Goats Gruff great as well as the meat ball sandwich of the month...Jamie & our Mic Mic always make us feel special
google avatar

Yelp
Food is a 8, used to be rock solid 10. Service sketchy, depending on how chatty your server is being with their friends seated nearby. I shouldn't have to get up twice to ask for water, when my glass is obviously empty. Ambiance ok, it's a loud hole in the wall type place, I get it. Just stop the flirting/hanging with friends if you're supposed to be working/waiting on customers.
google avatar

Yelp
The customer service has been excellent on every visit that I have made! (6) to be exact. I've had the havarti burger, gouda burger, fries, tater tots, fried mushrooms and my wife had the quesadillas that I tasted. Everything that I have tasted has very good. I also like how everyone in there works together and constantly checks up on you to make sure that you're ok.

Yelp
Can't beat the burgers. Excellent service. Great chill spot! Parking can be challenging

Yelp
Coworker suggested Tremont Tavern for lunch. We both chose the special of the day: Gomez burger and tots for me and the chicken Parmesan sandwich and a salad for her. The burger was very "rich" with the pepper jack cheese and the guacamole, it definitely needed something acidic to cut through that richness, so I used a condiment I rarely use - ketchup. Once I dipped the burger in for each bite, the burger came to life. Tater tots were standard but crispy. The atmosphere is lively but I didn't see a lot of low top tables, so FYI. Service was fantastic! Parking can be tricky but I only had a front view ( my coworker parked in the strip of stores across the street)

Yelp
Stumbled in on a Tuesday night and discovered a gold mine. Open mic night, jalapeño burger, tots, vibes, etc. was all impeccable. Service was prompt and efficient after 9pm on a weekday which is rare these days.

Yelp
So, given Tremont's reputation for being a great burger spot, I decided in fairness I needed to go back and try a burger, great plan, didn't happen. It's few minutes after 5:00pm, and the place is packed, I find a spot at the bar, and I'm happy, as I know I'll get good service. It's got to be primarily locals from the neighborhood as it doesn't strike me as a bar for a quick beverage after work. Several new beers on drafts since my visit late November, a big plus for me as there were a handful of beers I had never tried. The "Sandwich of the Month" is called Turnip in the Holler. Pastrami, greens, dill slaw and Russian dressing on marble rye, as much as I love burgers, I got to have this sandwich. I get tater tots as my side (great upgrade versus fries) and I am blown away. Washing down this wonderful fare first with a hazy IPA, finishing the meal off with a beautiful stout. Okay, the "Burger of the Month" really looks great too, it's topped with duck bacon.....I'll be back before Christmas to see if this 5 star holds. I will finally have that burger!

Yelp
Our friends who live in Chattanooga, along with our Airbnb host, recommended we eat here and we were not disappointed! The burgers were huge and delicious--You will not walk away hungry! The vibe is local sports bar and it was packed while we were there but our servers were all friendly and attentive and the food came out very quickly. Great local beer on tap and a fun atmosphere--we will definitely visit again on our next trip!

Yelp
Self seating, thats no big deal. Taking 5 minutes to even be asked what we would like to drink? Little upsetting... but standing at the computer talking to other servers for 10 minutes before asking if we were ready to order thats not ok.then when we asked for a manager. It was our server... we asked to have a different server. And were told it didnt matter who our server was. *the tips were split between everyone* ok. Nobody cares about that. I care about being greated, served and taken care of. in the establishment im chosing to spend my money in. Getting the drinks refilled was non existent with the(*manager* server)(a different server came and apologized for how our first experience was) but even tho the Manager was extremely understanding of my frustrations. And did comp our appetizer. Thats still no excuse for how people were being treated for " interrupting." Your talk time with the other table for the whole duration of our experience. But theres definitely alot more talking then working From them... I will never eat inside this establishment again. Even tho the food was actually amazing.

Yelp
Tremont Tavern is my favorite place for an awesome hamburger. I had the Jalapeno Burger and tater tots~it was phenomenal!! The service was great, but seating was hard to find since they have such great food! I would highly recommend anyone visiting Chattanooga to stop here and have one of their burgers.

Yelp
Ok. It's raining. Kind of cold. What we gonna do? I'm in Chattanooga visiting my daughter. My wife asked if I wanted to go to Alta. No! No!!! I don't. You guys enjoy. So I got to find a place to not be at Alta. So Tremont Tavern gets the nod. Parking ain't east (get over it). Plenty places that suck have plenty of parking places. (Just sayin') So I sit down and order a Guinness beer. I didn't hate it. Then ordered the smoked Gouda cheese burger. Waitress asked "do you like a little spice?" Yes ma'am I do. Grilled jalapeños it is. I'm just going to say. This is worth missing the shopping with my two favorite women. But seriously such a great place to be in the rain. 10/10. I would for sure do it again.

Yelp
When you have the best burger in East Tennessee it's simple, you get the highest rating. I was a regular for years here but live in Knoxville now. So I stop in most times I'm in town. Amazing burgers. I used to say the best in town, but after searching across Knoxville I pass the East Tennessee title. Do the have negatives ? Yes, too many people know about this place and it can get crowded. Parking can suck when it full. If your going to visit this place for the first time try to visit during off peak hours.

Yelp
I had a great experience here. I sat at the bar and the bartenders were very friendly and attentive. The food was great and they had a great beer selection. I had their burger from the special board the Carolina Chili Burger. Overall great experience.
google avatar

Larry S.

Yelp
If not the best, then one of the top two or three burgers in town. Neighborhood bar feel.
google avatar

Joshua W.

Yelp
Amazing! The reuben might be the best in Chattanooga. Service was also great, but it does get busy for lunch, so if you want to go you better get there before the lunch rush. Normally tells you if a place is good or not on how busy they get, especially during lunch.

Anna B.

Yelp
Comfort... Everything about this local legend is comforting. A classic hip tavern with amazing burgers and sides. Service is decent. The only downside is that parking can be nightmarish.

Rob G.

Yelp
Get the Tremont burger! The bun really makes the burger. Service was excellent and attentive.

Yelp
Being from out of town (GA) this place satisfies all of our local tavern/pub vibes. Great local draft beers on tap, killer burgers, fun people and good vibes!
google avatar

Kendra L.

Yelp
Love the burgers, I hate that it's first come for the seating though. People are rude and swipe tables even if there is clearly a "line". I wish that was more organized and I'd come more. But the place is always poppin' so others don't seem to mind.
google avatar

Tim L.

Yelp
Came here for a burger and just decided to go a little lighter. Found this beautiful gem on the menu and enjoyed it vastly. Chips were also a nice side. Split the chicken tenders basket as an appetizer and those are always good. Arguably, best burger in Chattanooga but there are other things there as well.

Jenny K.

Yelp
Every single thing we ordered was delicious! Staff was super friendly and took good care of us.
google avatar

Ken H.

Yelp
Simply put- these are the best hamburgers you're going to get in Chattanooga. The good here is amazing. Seating is very limited- which is the only downside. The burgers are perfection.
google avatar

Yelp
We came here on a Friday evening around 5:00 p.m. The place was packed but we got right in and got our seat. The place is small but lively The noise level is high. I ordered a havarti cheeseburger with horseradish mayo and it came with a side salad. My sister Cindy got a chicken sandwich and Sarah got a Gouda Burger with fries. All the food was outstanding and served fresh and hot. On Fridays they have $3 IPAs. A great little local spot. Prices for the hamburgers were around $15. No extra charge for the side salad and it was good.
google avatar

Karen L.

Yelp
Yum, love this place! A cute little bar with great service and good food. Stopped by for Sunday lunch and started with habanero wings. They came out fast and hot (temp wise), only complaint is I wish they were spicier although I know we like things spicier than most people. I had the French dip and it was the perfect size for dipping with a horseradish sauce to give it some more flavor. My husband said it's the best burger he has had in Chat... juicy (in a good way), cooked perfectly and the bread was also good. Chips and fries home made and on point. We will be back!

Yelp
Best staff on the planet and they have all the best beers and good food. Bartenders know all the beers and will give you a taste or a recommendation. You never mind paying for a good craft beer here and the food is outstanding. There's better burgers in town, but they top them well here and get creative with the monthly burger and sandwiches. I actually like the black bean burger here because it tastes better that the cow burgers. It falls apart when you eat it, which is normally a sign that they actually make it and not just take it out of a box in the freezer and grill it. Always get tater tots. Try the Green Goddess Salad with Chicken. I have never regretted a monthly special sandwich or burger. Trivia night with Alex is unrivaled, it feels like hanging out with your best friend for a couple hours on a Monday night. There is a lot of personality in the game. Patrons are always pleasant and chatty. You'll often find yourself in a conversation with someone next to you. It's like our little Cheers. Great place to watch a game too, there's a ton of TVs and they will switch to your game if you ask.
google avatar

Jenna M.

Yelp
Great burger menu! Highly recommended by a local as we were visiting. My friend had another burger and loved it. This was one of the best black bean burgers I'd had in my life -- I've been a vegetarian for 10 years and live in the NYC area so I've had a ton! You can sub any burger to have the black bean burger so you aren't restricted to certain options. Side of buffalo cauliflower was awesome too! Stopped here while out of town and was super impressed with the food. Ambiance is great, we came on open mic night and I appreciated the local feel with exceptional food! Drinks are mostly beer but a good range so great for beer aficionados.

Yelp
Jalapeño Jack Burger Is the Bomb! Service at the bar was awesome & the place has a great local atmosphere vibe! I live in ATL but I'll be back for sure!

Yelp
So on the way up to Ruby Falls,I asked my Lyft driver to recommend a place. He recommended this place for their burgers and beers. He wasn't wrong about the burgers. I'm not much of a drinker so I'll leave that for someone else. I settled on The chuck. House made guacamole and grilled onions just sounded great. The burger was wonderful, not over cooked or dry. The guacamole and grilled onions were the right combination to go with the burger. The side was steak frys ,to me were slightly over cooked for my taste. However they were still crispy and I would order them again. So have fun and let a local pick your spot. I think my driver was spot on with his choice.

Yelp
Tremont Tavern has been open for dine-in for several months now. We finally got around to going back again. We wanted to stop by since we've been wanting to try their Fried Chicken Salad. I was very happy with mine. The ingredients must be comprised of what they have fresh on hand because a couple items noted on the description on the menu were different. It didn't make that big of a deal for me, as I like the replacement. The salad was missing croutons and shredded cheese, but had added fresh sliced mushrooms instead as a replacement. I chose bleu cheese dressing, which was house-made and went well with this salad. Next time I would ask for extra dressing because the amount I got was in a small solo cup, which dressed only about half the salad. We had our order to-go and it came in a biodegradable container. All ingredients were fresh. It's very loud in the tavern, with lots of conversation by unmasked patrons going on, plus it's bopping with a 10+ volume with the music playing. Just the way it should be in a tavern. The atmosphere is dark and noisy. If you're wanting to have a serious conversation with your party, this is probably not the best place, although still doable. But if you're looking for a good time to have some fun with 'your people', this is the best place which must be THE place!

Cameron H.

Yelp
Fantastic place to grab a beer and a bite. The chicken tender appetizer is LOADED. So much quality for the price. Claire was also a great bartender!

Yelp
Great burgers, service, beer and atmosphere. If you love burgers and beer in a very cool environment then you need to check out this place. Two thumbs up

Yelp
This was a hopping spot recommended by our Airbnb hosts and it did not disappoint. It's a Tavern to a T ... full of locals and outsiders alike. Come as you are kinda place. Just got done kayaking the river, hiking in the mountains, or shopping downtown? No problem - they take everyone equally! We opted to sit at the bar and had good conversations with the locals next to us. The bar staff knew many of the locals and seemed to have a good repour. They were busy and still took great care of everyone. They had good recommendations for beer and food alike. A few of them I found very entertaining to watch and talk with as well. The draft beer selection varies widely for all types of beer drinkers and you can easily get a taste before diving into a pint. It rotates so much even the bartenders were laughing about how frequently they change things out. During our few hours there they had two new beers change out! For food we got the buffalo cauliflower bites, a house salad, and split a burger with tots. The cauliflower bites were just OK, but not sure I'd get those again. They were just spicy batter fried bites, no 'buffalo' sauce on them. But the burger and salad were spot on! The Havarti Tavern Burger || $14.00 || Their Proprietary house grind Angus Beef topped with Havarti cheese and their our own horseradish mayonnaise, green-leaf lettuce, sliced tomato and red onion. I LOVED that you could actually choose what temp you wanted your burger cooked at! Medium Rare Please - and that's exactly how it came. They also so kindly cut the burger right in half and split the tots on two separate plates since we were sharing. Love when places do this! Tavern House Salad || $7.50 || Green leaf lettuce topped with sliced tomato, onion, cucumber, shredded cheese & croutons also did not disappoint. This was no small side salad either - super fresh and big bowl!

Yelp
Great burgers and sides. Cold beer and good vibes. Service was quick and friendly would go here again.
google avatar

Colleen L.

Yelp
Great place for sandwiches/burgers with a very good beer list. The Chicky Goats Gruff was messy and great. I heard no complaints from my son-in-law on his Hummus Wrap...one of his favorites. Bartender was very helpful in helping me choose a beer or two. Would definitely recommend.
google avatar

Daisymarie G.

Yelp
Good beer selection and excellent burgers. Service was great too! I was able to get a seat right away at the bar no wait but this place is definitely busy and popular!

Yelp
What an incredible burger! Tremont Tavern never disappoints with the burger, beers, and sides. Tremont has a cool Bar/Tavern atmosphere. Always a great place to watch football, drink beer, and eat some incredible food.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, great atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff...definitely worth the drive to North Chattanooga. Didn't even know about this place due to it's proximity from downtown but after being referred there by our Chattabrew tour guide we made the trip and it didn't disappoint. 2nd best burger in town and all the sides we had were tasty as well.
google avatar

Cherelle J.

Yelp
Went for the first time I ordered the Gouda burger and buffalo cauliflower. The burger came with smoked Gouda cheese, bbq sauce, lettuce, tomato and onion straws. Also came with fries. It was sooo good!! I definitely want to try another burger. The fries were ok. The buffalo cauliflower was delicious and fried perfectly. Normally it's mushy at other places. Great bar food their menu looks really good too. Will definitely return.

Greg W.

Yelp
Great service. Nice selection of beers. Good food. Citrus chipotle bbq wings are highly recommend!

Yelp
The Gouda Burger from Tremont Tavern is mind-blowing! It's a huge, messy, delicious burger! Mine was cooked to medium and it was perfect! Complete with gouda cheese, BBQ sauce, and onion straws. The bun itself was outstanding! The tater tots were fantastic! The server was super nice, but it took her a long time to get to us after getting our drinks, and the place had just opened for the day. She spent time chatting with a coworker and customers at the bar for a long time before getting back with us. After she took our order, someone else brought our food, someone else refilled our drinks, and someone else gave us our bill and took our money. She was around. Just never back to us. ‍ The place is small and it's very casual. Stickers, banners, and colored lights are everywhere. It's dark inside, but it's a pretty cool dive. My spouse said it smelled funny--he had a keen nose--but I didn't really notice. A burger from Tremont Tavern just became a MUST HAVE for us when we visit Chattanooga from now on. Don't wait. Go. Satisfy your burger craving with one TODAY from Tremont Tavern!

Edward J.

Yelp
Best burger and beer joint in Chattanooga. Absolutely great place. Great local color. Terrific staff. Excellent food. Great music. Crowded at times but what do expect from the best in town? A blast. .

Yelp
The Gouda burger. Just amazing. With a side of tots & honey mustard. Top notch quality. Great owners and crew too

Yelp
They are located on an angled corner with a narrow side street. Parking is almost non existent. I drove up the side street past numerous illegally parked vehicles and had to turn around in a driveway. I wound up parking across Hixson Pike in the CVS parking lot. There is a signal light at the intersection so it's not too hard to cross safely. Handicapped customers take note of the issues. We ordered online, so pick up should not have been difficult. Waking in, there is a bar on the right and left. There is also a server station immediately on the left. There were no signs about where to pick up orders so I waited at the server station as the two servers were talking and inputting an order. Neither looked up or acknowledged my presence, then walked away to the left bar. I saw someone standing at a window near the right side bar so walked down there. One of the two initial servers was on the other side and again walked away instead of asking if I needed something. Eventually one of the bartenders from the right side asked what I needed. He told me to just wait at the window as that is the pick up point for take out orders. Finally, a second bartender from the right side asked what I needed and then went to check with the kitchen. I was told it would be another five minutes or so, and was asked if I wanted a water while I was waiting. This was the only real customer service I received during the visit. The burgers were really good. I mean, truly excellent. Certainly in the top five in Chattanooga. Still, it should not be that hard to pick up your order, and the service was 50% abysmal, 25% minimal, and 25% exceptional. Given the parking difficulty and service roulette, I won't be returning.
google avatar

Craig G.

Yelp
Small and crowded so grabbing a seat can be a challenge. We didn't have too terrible long of a wait and managed to get a table. Service was attentive and the kitchen was timely. The burger had a good seasoning and was quite good. Part of the draw is the atmosphere and bar, so an equally good burger can be had for less of a struggle. But if it's your scene or you're in the area, it's not a bad call.
