Trennerys Hotel

I was at Trennerys for a week's workshop wit 22 other colleagues. It's a very beautiful place in a rustic sort of way. The hotel is in the process of upgrading their rooms and although I stayed in an older room, everything was wonderfully clean. The food was fantastic. We ate like kings. The staff was friendly, helpful, kind and very attentive. The swimming pool beautiful. The beach amazing!

If you really want to camp it’s okay but if you’re looking to stay in a room I highly do not recommend, the rooms with carpets are moist/humid and smell like mold and they’re so outdated with 0 ventilation, we had to request a room swap because we didn’t get the room that was advertised to us. There isn’t much to do at the hotel, except go tie the beach and eat…on top of that the wifi is HORRIBLE and there’s no wifi in the rooms, it’s only in the common areas like the dining room and the bar, and it never really works. It’s far away from everything, if you’re looking to be secluded and quiet it’s great.

The service of all staff, and the meals were excellent. We were in cottage 21. It was clean and tidy, but lacked just 2 things. 1) An extra chair, as it was 2 of us. But we received an extra one when we asked, in minutes. 2) A deck with table and 2 chairs. All other cottages have them except 21. It would have been so nice to sit outside in the morning having a cup of coffee privately. And in the cool of the evening . Our door faced everyone, so we had to keep it closed most times. If you want or need a completely relaxed holiday vibe, Trennerys is the place. Well just the Wild Coast in general. The huts where you stay are cool & calm. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The beach is very close to walk to. I’ve been there a few times & will go again.

The place is on the coastal line of EC, the neighbourhood itself is very safe and not over crowded (which I really love). The scenery is just out of this world, the beaches around it are so clean and tranquil. Definitely going again!

I spent many happy holidays in the Eastern Cape/Transkei, in particular Qolora Mouth, as a small child. This was my second visit as an adult, nearly 50 years after my first visit, and I’m pleased to say it remains beautiful and unspoilt, with pristine beaches as always. ||||Trennerys is a lovely hotel, set amongst lush, tropical vegetation overlooking the sea. A short path leads you directly onto the beautiful sandy beach, which more often than not, you have to yourself. Our room was clean and comfortable, serviced by the lovely Linah every day. We enjoyed sitting on the stoep every morning with a cup of tea, listening to the sea roar, while watching the monkeys frolicking in the trees. We saw lots of exotic birds too, as well as several kingfishers which delighted my DH! ||||The breakfast buffet was excellent, varied and plentiful, with eggs and flapjacks cooked to order. The dinner buffet was also okay, although we would have preferred an a la carte option in the evenings.

Lovely yet very old hotel right behind the dunes, with lots of facilities bar, pool, tennis courts, trampoline, delicious food, staff made a special effort to cater for vegan options, very friendly staff at the bar, the reception, restaurant and room cleaning. We so enjoyed our stay and would have liked to stay much longer.
