Trent gives me more than thirteen reasons why. They are committed to price gouging students at every step of the way, from $400-600 parking passes, mandatory $5000 dining plans (which still isn't even enough to feed you 3 meals a day), and the current introduction of predatory textbook policies that require you to do assignments THROUGH the textbook publishers website after a fee to ensure you can't share or save money.
Additionally, my residence took place in the Traill college annex, which is a deeply unfortunate place to make students pay a premium price to live at. The rooms are unventilated hotboxes that even open windows can't fix, my window had spider eggs in it, the showers don't have doors or security, you have to pay for a second $400 parking pass, there is no kitchen or way to prepare your own food (reminder that the dining plan doesn't supply you for the entire semesters), the exterior is shared with a private elementary school, and the parking lot often freezes over in the winter because the private owners of the annex don't salt it in time. Not to mention there is no recycling whatsoever, meaning a tremendous amount of waste is made here.
There are positives, such as a good student culture and very pretty campus, but i can't stress enough how predatory Trent is as soon as it's too late to turn back.
