Great location. Close to everything (3 minutes of walking from the train station, and 5 minutes from the square, but Trento is a relatively small city and I guess every hotel in downtown is convenient). The room is okay. Nothing fancy but nothing to complain about.
The service, however, is uneven. The front desk staff were always helpful, but one of the restaurant workers never smiled, never greeted me, never asked me what to drink, coffee or tea. I understand she doesn't speak English, but smiling has nothing to do with language; a couple of English words shouldn't be very hard. In contrast, she talked a lot with (white) Italian-speaking guests with laughters and served coffee or tea promptly. I don't want to attribute this service quality to my non-white racial identity since there were very few non-white, non-Italian guests during my stay in this hotel and therefore it was hard to compare. But this was the first time I experienced this kind of coldness in any of the hotels I stayed around the world (I travel extensively). Given that Italians in general are very friendly, this was a surprise to me.
