Tres Sirenas Beach Inn – Hotel Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"What's the vibe at this hotel? It's impossible not to breathe in deeply once you arrive at Tres Sirenas, a white-washed oceanfront property. Soothing waves beckon from the beach, and the bustle of busy San Juan feels worlds away. Tell us a bit about its backstory. Originally a private home, Tres Sirenas was converted into a bed and breakfast in 2003. After Hurricane Maria, the owners upgraded the property and added new wellness offerings, a yoga deck, massage treatments, and (for a different sort of wellness) a tiki bar. What are the rooms like? The hotel's five rooms all have ocean views and feel like tropical villas, with clay tiled floors, wood furniture, breezy ceiling fans, and private terraces. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi? Wi-Fi is complimentary. How are the on-site dining options? It's a B&B, so breakfast is the name of the game here. A gourmet vegetarian menu (included in the room rate) might include asparagus frittata with roasted potatoes, local organic fruit, avocado, toasted baguette, and fresh tropical juices; vegan options, such as a Mediterranean breakfast of hummus, babaganoush, flatbread, roasted tomatoes, olives, are also available. The tiki bar serves snacks like bruschetta—it's a great place to watch the sun set. The hotel also hosts occasional pop-up dinners. And the service? Owners are willing to make anything happen, whether it be a private chef service or surf lessons or a scuba trip. Who tends to stay here? Yoga obsessives and the slow-paced surfers who love them. What is there to know about the surrounding area? Rincón is known as the surf capital of Puerto Rico. Surf beaches are a mile away from Tres Sirenas; the town center is a 10-minute walk. The B & B is a 45-minute taxi from Rafael Hernandez International Airport in Aguadilla, and a two-and-a-half-hour drive from San Juan. Any other hotel features worth noting? You can borrow paddle boards, kayaks and snorkel gear. Owner Lisa Masters is a licensed Jivamukti instructor who teaches on-site and organizes yoga retreats. An oceanfront pool is flanked with canopied daybeds, while an adjoining swimming cove offers a nice alternative to Rincón's wavy surf beaches. Bottom line: Worth it? Why? This is the perfect choice for anyone looking for an introspective and dreamy getaway." - Kathleen Squires

Our honeymoon stay here was the best vacation we have ever had so far! The beach was as clean as it could possibly be, daily and very private to the guests only. The guests were also very spaced out and respectful of the beach. The rooms were gorgeous with the ocean front view to wake up to every morning. The staff delivered breakfast every morning and it was the yummiest breakfasts we could have asked for. It was so nice not to have to go out in the mornings and worry about breakfasts. It was not a cold, sloppy continental breakfast like hotels typically offer. I give Tres Sirenas a 4/5 star review on the rooms only because the bedroom was out of direct circulation from the AC unit so our nights were a little warmer and hard to regulate the temp while we were sleeping. This was nothing that came close to ruining our stay. Everything was so wonderful, we want to return for our anniversary for sure! Thank you, Tres Sirenas for a wonderful honeymoon!!

The atmosphere was extremely peaceful and serene. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The grounds were well maintained and cleaned daily. Breakfast was delicious and different everyday during our stay. The Bar area was beautiful and the staff was polite, informative and engaged with us in conversation about the area’s tourist attractions. One of the staff Christopher was helpful with providing Rincon area dining option and available tourist activity information and he also made excellent drinks. We loved our stay and look forward to our next visit.

Words cannot describe the experience, hospitality, views, and room at Tres Sirenas. Camila was amazing to talk to ahead of time to ensure everything was set up perfectly. Johnny and Christopher made the best drinks, conversation and recommendations for the island. The amazing women who cooked breakfast and cleaned the rooms were the most special in that they ensured everything was fantastically yummy - and for our one son gluten-free. They went out of their way and we very much appreciate it. We loved having beach chairs at the ready and loved swimming and snorkeling right at our own beach. We are already talking about how soon we can return! Thank you so much! You made our vacation so special.

My husband and I stayed here with our 1 year old son for 5 days and we enjoyed every minute of it! The room exceeded our expectations and the location was perfect. We really enjoyed the property and every single staff member went above and beyond. The common areas were constantly pristine. We really enjoyed the new bar while our son napped and our favorite person we met during the trip was Jonathan, the daytime bartender. He was wonderful and it was so fun to talk with him and learn about the local rum, traditions, and overall island lifestyle. One small thing that would have made our trip a bit easier would be if there was a basic high hair available. Breakfast was a bit of challenge with our son. Everything else was so great though, I would definitely stay again and recommend! Thank you to all of the staff who made it an amazing stay!

Beautiful place and staff. PERFECT LOCATION right on the beach, consistent wave-splashing and plenty pelican sightings. Great aesthetic and very friendly staff. They bring you breakfast straight to your room. It was tasty and different everyday with lots of fruit. The staff was also very attentive and quick to respond via email. The “romance package” wound up being perfect for a big birthday we were celebrating and I can’t wait to go back. Also close to the plaza and many restaurants. And the bar! Love the bar right by the beach. HIGHLY recommend splurging on the penthouse villa. That balcony, that bed!

We had a wonderful time at Tres Sirenas in Rincón. The property is absolutely beautiful, especially the pool area right by the ocean—what a view! It’s peaceful and relaxing. Our room was very clean and well stocked with towels, bottled water, and coffee. The bed was super comfortable. Every morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. There’s also a small bar on-site where Johnny provided excellent service, along with the rest of the staff who were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

Google
What an absolute jewel of a hotel- staying here felt like the ultimate in laid-back luxury. With such a small number of rooms, it feels like having a private beach and pool most of the time! The staff were incredibly attentive, and kept us well-stocked with water and fresh towels, while delivering a delicious breakfast that we ate on the veranda overlooking the ocean every day. It was an incredibly peaceful and relaxing stay. I’ll be dreaming of returning to Tres Sirenas for a long time!

Waking up to the sound of waves and ocean views from our room was unforgettable. The property is elegant, peaceful, and steps from the beach. Incredible service, delicious breakfast, and pure relaxation. Can’t wait to go back!

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay, but it was more because of the people we traveled with and not so much this place. The good- being so close the water, breakfast served daily, beds and pillows were pretty comfortable, AC and fans kept the rooms cool, private and away from crowds. The downside - it does NOT look like what is advertizied. The cushions on all the seats and lounge chairs are old and stained and were soaking wet so could barely use them, the pool was dirty and had to request it to be cleaned, the trash was overflowing when we arrived, the ice maker was not working, the in room massage was expensive for what we got, there is no safe passage to the beach, the outdoor furniture is not well maintained, no umbrellas, furniture old and outdated. I would not return unless they did a massive update.

Yelp
It's no surprise this place has been featured in numerous publications. This was our second time and will not be our last. After reading the reviews and seeing how many people said they have stayed at Tres Sirenas multiple times or it was their yearly getaway, we had to try it for ourselves. The vibe/ambiance/environment at Tres Sirenas is exactly what we were looking for. It can change your whole mindset and experience if it is off. We loved going to sleep with the sounds of the ocean right out our door. You are literally right on the water. The sunsets are beautiful and always postcard worthy. The places are very clean. The a/c works well if you need a quick cool down and the beds are very comfortable. I usually move around during the night, but the beds and sheets were so comfortable I didn't move at all and slept through the whole night! I felt incredible the next morning and to top it off, we had a healthy delicious home cooked breakfast (Not some cheap effortless continental breakfast). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Yelp
Just finished a week long stay at this lovely boutique hotel on the beach and found it perfectly charming. The staff were wonderful and the facilities were well cared for.

Yelp
Tres Sirenas is an amazing sanctuary in this chaotic world. The location is perfection. Being oceanfront is amazing. The sound of the waves is the backdrop for your experience. Travel in to Puerto Rico is safe and efficient. I tested for Covid before each of my three visits and appreciate how easy the process is for providing documentation (QR Code) and moving through the airports. I fly in to San Juan and then hop a Cape Air flight from terminal D in to Mayaguez. The cessna flight is amazing, giving you a beautiful birds eye view of PR. My daughter fell asleep in the flight it was so relaxing! The inn itself is artfully decorated with all the little touches that come with feeling at home and not in the cookie cutter of hotel. Staff is efficient, quiet, thoughtful, and available when needed. The facilities are beautifully cared for including the pool, room, and common spaces. I felt safe, relaxed, and fortunate to spend some much needed time away in such an exotic and peaceful setting.

Yelp
The feeling of Tres Sirenas is hard to capture in one word- the breeze, water and cozy setting all invite quiet and peace, a good match to the vibrant and louder sides to PR. The rooms are comfy and the outdoor space is perfect inviting and peaceful. There is a grounding energy the minute you walk in the door. Lisa could not have been kinder or more helpful in our stay. From helping me organize my youngest's birthday cake breakfast to loaning me money when my wallet was stolen, she helped me manage the chaos and the unfamiliar territory with grace and ease of a true caretaker. You will be well taken care of by these lovely ladies who have put their heart into their inn. From delicious breakfasts, to poolside cabanas to yoga on the veranda- it's a graceful getaway with all of the details.

Yelp
Hands down, the perfect spot for a romantic and tropical honeymoon in Puerto Rico. if you have not heard of Rincon and are considering a trip to Puerto Rico, do yourself a favor and check it out. This is literally the California of PR. Lots of surf, nature activities, fine dining and casual folks to bring the whole place together into a great vacation spot. We checked out Tres Sirenas on Trip Advisor and found it ranked # 1. We made a reservation inquiry and were quickly contacted by the owners. We decided to stay in the penthouse with a private view of the sea (which yielded amazing sunsets each day - weather permitting). A private breakfast was delivered to us each day right on our terrace. The room itself was perfect, king sized bed, jacuzzi, tv with cable, wi-fi, full kitchen and a wandering house cat. Meow. I really can't say anything bad about Tres Sirenas. Everything was perfect. The place was easy to find right off a main road. It is on an amazing stretch of beach. There is a nice little pool and patio area. They have a little library of books and DVDs and they even have snorkels/masks and kayaks all on hand for you. Our next trip to Rincon, we will absolutely stay at Tres Sirenas.

Yelp
My husband and I spent four nights here in April for my birthday and we LOVED it. The location is great - right on the beach. This particular beach was our favorite in Rincon, calmer waves and fewer rocks than the other beaches made for a super relaxing time. We loved sitting on the beach outside the hotel every morning. The owner Lisa is super friendly as is all the staff, they were really helpful and always ready with recommendations for places to eat and things to do nearby. The hotel itself is really cute, with not too many rooms so it's nice and peaceful, perfect for what we wanted. Breakfast every morning was great, they were very accommodating of my vegetarian diet. Our room was very comfortable, there's a grill on the premises which is also great for some grilling. All in all, I would highly recommend Tres Sirenas!

I would recommend highly recommend if you enjoy the sounds of serenity and ocean breeze to go to sleep , or go for a paddle board or kayak right from Tres Sirenas or even a sunset cocktail on the beach ! Yelp
A Rare Gem in Rincon. When traveling somewhere new, it's easy to compare photos of rooms and pools but it's far more challenging to figure out how a property feels, it's location and what it unique about it. I've visited Rincon many times I think Tres Sirenas is a rare gem. -Tres Sirenas is located directly on the water. I cannot stress enough how close it is in comparison to other properties. You will hear the waves at night and every room looks out at the ocean. It is feet away. -Location. The inn is located at the end of a pleasantly residential street, away from the fray and more touristy side of Rincon. However, it is also very close to the town, the restaurants, and the surfing beaches. You have the best of both. It's an oasis. -Hospitality. The level of hospitality is unparalleled for an inn of this kind. The owner, Lisa, is welcoming and knows about everything here; she really cares about her guest's happiness. -Atmosphere. Peaceful, quiet, comfortable, clean and beautiful. Breakfast is a set menu and it's very good. I slept very well in the beds. Pool is the perfect temperature. The other guests I meet there are always have always lovely and everyone is clearly enjoying themselves. I understand that majority of the guests are repeat customers. -Instant fun. The beach is on the quieter side of the Rincon. The waves are minimal so it's easy to float around or stand on the sandy bottom. A number of yards out there is a small reef where one can see beautifully-colored tropical fish. Snorkeling gear is available for free and surfboards, stand-up paddle boards and kayaks are available for a nominal fee. Not need to go elsewhere. All in all, a truly unique and wonderful place at a very good value. Full disclosure: I stayed at Tres Sirenas recently when I was employed as the art director of Travel + Leisure magazine. Tres Sirenas is one of the two properties recommended by Travel + Leisure in Rincon. I give it my personal and professional approval! Room Tip: All rooms are great, but the rooms on the second level are more choice.

Yelp
Doesn't get better than this. Immaculate beach, excellent service by the staff and the daily breakfast is perfect. Couldn't ask for more. Will definitely return. Thank you, Carmen, Sara, and Mari.....you made us feel at home and special.

KJ K.

Yelp
The most beautiful spot to enjoy Rincón. The breathtaking view from the balcony and pool make the choice between staying in and going to the beach almost impossible! Seeing as the beach is less than 3 steps from the stairs of the property you can choose both! Lisa made us feel right at home and was incredibly helpful making sure we didn't miss out on anything while we were here. Close enough to town to take a stroll in for the weekend market and far enough to feel like you are the only people on the island. I highly recommend coming as soon as possible because I plan on booking as much time here as I can get.

Yelp
I had a wonderful extended weekend at this lovely, on-the-beach bed and breakfast. Rincon is a quaint little town, and this Inn is darling! The views are amazing and the location is perfect. The staff was so kind, the food was delicious, and the place was impeccably clean! It was the most relaxing weekend, and I can't wait to come back next year!

Yelp
Thes Sirenas was perfect for my son's wedding. The setting was lovely and the food and service was outstanding for the events held there. However, our family rented one of the three-bedroom houses adjacent to (not directly on the property) of the hotel which are offered to their guests. The home was not as luxurious as the rooms of the inn, but it was adequate - -almost. Plenty of beach towels were available in the unit. However, the two bathrooms were each outfitted with only four bath towels for the four night stay. There were no hand towels or washcloths, there was no bath mat, and only one small bar of soap was provided on the tub, nothing at the sink. We ended up buying our own soap and using a beach towel for the mat. There was only a single key available for the unit. Although we were assured that the place was "safe", and that we did not need to lock the doors at night, this proved a real inconvenience as our party included young children, and some of us had to come in earlier at night in order to lock the front door! The ac in the upstairs bedroom rattled with an annoying sound the entire time, made bearable only because we had brought a sound machine. There was no hot water for three of the four days! When we complained, the owner had the hot water fixed, but in the end, only offered to waive the $50 cleaning fee! This seems inadequate as we spent close to $300 a night for the unit, and we also paid for an expensive dinner one night for the 21 guests in the wedding party. At the least, for the several issues with the unit, we should have been refunded a much larger portion of our fee.

Caitlyn G.

Yelp
Another teacher and I hosted a four day yoga retreat here. We were blown away by the accommodations and location. On top of the beautiful setting, the service was exceptional. we are planning on heading back here with another group in the fall. Highly recommend!!
