Lovely hotel to stay at in a beautiful and quiet peaceful setting With the Covid-19 pandemic going on at the moment, we had to wear face coverings in the corridors and public areas of the hotel but it was fine in your rooms and the restaurant. This did not make our stay any less enjoyable. Love their big garden where you can Lounge and enjoy the sea view. Also a lovely terrace to enjoy breakfast and alfresco dining British weather permitting. My favourite part is the little gate at the bottom of the garden which takes you onto a coastal walkway and down to a nice little pebble beach. Rooms are clean and nicely decorated, en-suite is also the same with good showers and the white company toiletries. We had dinner in the restaurant one night out on the terrace. Food is delicious and the staff and very accommodating

I would like to give it 5 stars but it currently had no restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast selection of almost all locally sourced produce. Small bar menu of meat or cheese platters or soup plus crisps etc. Rooms quite spacious and we had a great sea view. Shower / toilet small but OK. Shower not very powerful and it tended to wet the whole floor. Car park small and this could be an issue if people parked badly. Dogs welcome.

Lovely hotel, very comfortable bed, great shower, nice breakfast but not served till 0830. The location is stunning, the hotel backs out onto the south west coast path and has some stunning views. I only marked it down as I like to have breakfast a bit earlier, overall it's a great place to stay.

We stayed for a very pleasant 2 days. The staff, especially Ian, were extremely helpful and in our view went out of their way to quickly adapt a dish to accommodate our vegetarian diet. Gorgeous views, a very comfortable bed and room and we plan to return next year.

This review is about the restaurant only. We went there on Saturday night. It was surprisingly empty and the whole restaurant experience was very disappointing, particularly when bearing in mind the place’s accolades. The hake was bland as were the scallops even with the sauces that accompanied the dishes. The service was incredibly slow and staff were not very knowledgable. At times the restaurant was unattended which made it difficult to place requests. At the end of the meal we even had to get up to pay our bill rather than paying at the table. I had looked forward to the meal but felt very let down. And hungry - even after three courses.

I loved everything about our stay from the moment we checked in till the moment we checked out. The room (room 10) was bright and spacious with lovely sea views. We had a really comfy bed, great bathroom and tea making facilities. On arrival we were given a Cornish cream tea and a glass of prosecco. Then there was a 3 course dinner with some great local produce. We loved the local yarg cheese in particular. Breakfast was really good too with cold buffet and hot breakfast made to order. High quality ingredients were used and real pride was in abundance. The manager was so helpful explaining about the local area and we had a fabulous walk around Mevagissey harbour. We will definitely be back and stay for longer next time.

Staff on the ground very good for a boutique hotel sadly lacking in certain areas. The bar lacked appeal no tempting happy hour sundowner on the terrace with nibbles. The restaurant is closed due to staffing the complimentary cream tea was sampled on one day .The hotel has a great location lovely view of gardens and oceon if you book a superior room. Very close to the lost gardens of heligan which I,d highly recommend. But be prepared the journey down into mevigussey isn't too bad however after an evening meal and a couple of glasses the return is a wee challenge .John the owner has his own ways I appreciated him changing our room after 1 night to an onsuite with bath that I'd requested back in March and the scones for our journey home

Good points: Friendly staff Good service Good view Bad points: Worst meal we have had in 15 years. A dead fly was found in the salad The bavette steak tasted old and seemed to be on the edge of its date, it was also soaked in butter and oil. Each chip contained a teaspoon of bad oil. The above points caused us to question whether the salad was washed. The children are already complaining of stomach aches as we are driving away from the restaurant. The staff claimed that the restaurant had 2 Michelin stars which seemed very odd as we had an appauling experience. We all felt that the food was barely warm and is making us worry for our health, let's just pray no one throws up in the 3 hour car journey to follow. They did refund half of the meals price which was nice but this shouldn't be an issue in the first place. Birthday meal did not go well!
