The 6 Best Hostels in Bali (Updated 2025)

"Created by fellow budget backpacker Will Hatton, Tribal is a brand-new hostel and the first in Bali specifically designed for digital nomads, featuring a 24/7 coworking space with super-fast Wi‑Fi, lots of desks, sofas, beanbags, private call booths, and many power outlets. The property includes a huge multi-level pool, a cafe serving healthy eats, and an on-site bar with a daily happy hour and cheap drinks. Dorms have modern pod-style beds with outlets and reading lamps, stairs to the upper bunks instead of noisy ladders, and rain showers in the large shared bathrooms; while social, the crowd is mostly young professionals, meaning everyone is quiet and respectful at night so you can get a great night's sleep." - Matthew Kepnes

Comprehensive review of my 2 week stay , as I am 1 week in. Room: Rooms and bathroom are clean, and they are diligent with cleaning. But I don’t know how often sheets get changed if you don’t ask for it. Beds are comfortable and each bed comes with a drawer which is so helpful to store belongings! Pool is nice and so good to cool off the afternoon. Only 4 pool beds. Noise: Quiet hours are supposed 10pm to 8am but they seem more like 11pm to 7am. Because guests at co working keep going until late and the staff start cleaning up at 7am and you can hear chatter from them. Work environment: Internet has been great, but since it’s completely open when there were heavy days of rain everything was soaked. There are no quiet rooms for calls so if you need private room, they do not have a chargeable one. They probably should consider as I believe some folks would pay ¨̮ F&B: Coffee is decent. Food is delicious but some portions are smaller than others. For Example teriyaki chicken and Caesar salad portion is small, but pasta, bubur, fruit platter portions are big. They have a minimum spend for outside guests. Overall I’d recommend if you are an easy traveller and love the social element of connecting with other travellers who work and travel

“A tropical college campus with ambitious entrepreneurial students”. An absolutely incredible space to work, relax, and meet talented people. The food is great and the service is friendly. The environment is unique - co-working, a pool, billiards, chess, and more. Vitto has done a phenomenal job at creating real community through his events and interactions with guests. When I want to work in a social environment with good food, this is my #1 go-to!

Top place to be for digital nomads. It's quite a busy place though and sometimes a bit too noisy. Wi-Fi is good, but a little unstable. Rooms are good, beds are very good

Very clean and proper! I stayed in the single room. Just wish checkout time could be 12 noon as opposed to 11. But otherwise everything is perfect, especially the energy there! Full of people focused on being productive and open to opportunities for collaboration. Will definitely visit again.

LOVED everything about this place! Great location, the area is not too busy but it is still close to shops, restaurants and the beach. The staff are all super friendly and sweet. Co-working space is super nice, lots of space to sit and an easy environment to work in. They also serve food and coffee, everything I have had has been very yummy! The rooms are also very nice, they are spacious and well designed. Overall, super great experience here and I would definitely return!

The co-working space itself is well-designed and comfortable. I really enjoyed the environment. However, the staff came across as a bit unwelcoming. I was told that no outside food is allowed, even something as small as a protein bar, which felt a little restrictive.

What a beautiful corner of Bali. This magical co working space has been a great part of my journey in this wonderful place, and sharing ideas with other tribal members inside their events is the best addition to the already amazing accommodation and cafe environment 🖤👏

I had a poor experience here. While the air conditioning was on during the day (in the rooms), they turned the ac off during the night. Which led to hot, sweaty, sleepless nights. I addressed my concern to the manager of the time (who was English), and he became enraged with me that I was pointing out the obvious flaw. And the air conditioning-less nights continued thereafter. The other staff seemed performative, and robotic, rather than natural and real. Which made for uncomfortable interactions that should have been easy breezy. Overall, I'd say avoid this place, as it has too many issues and is more stressful than enjoyable.
